Reckless Invitation is better than Reckless Reunion. In Reckless Invitation, Liam who is the hero had a baggage from his adoptive father. Safety spoiler: there is issue of sexual abuse/ molestation. Miss Christy done her best not to put it on graphic detail.
The story focusing on Liam healing himself with a help from Elle. Their romance startes from meet cute to romantic. I do like Liam. My heart breaks for him.
What I want more is their deeper connection.
Overall this is a good read to close my weekend. I have been slow on reading lately due to many things in my life right now.

This book tackles some very sensitive subjects. The mind of a victim. The self destruction. The pain. And ultimately being a survivor and choosing to live life instead of just barreling through.
Liam and Ella do not find love easily. Both are going through real life issues. Thoughts we are too embarrassed to share. But who wants to read an easy love story right?

Another hit by Samantha! I love that she gives you all the feels while still be able to tackle real life situations. Liam and Ella are amazing characters both going through some stuff. I very much enjoy seeing what characters will do for love! It requires patience and understanding, and Samantha never fails to dive deep into all those aspects.

(audiobook) Wow. Just wow. This book was emotionally intense, and beautiful at the same time. It’s really the story of how Ella’s love heals Liam’s broken mind and soul. And how Ella’s life changes after she meets Liam, when she becomes the muse of a musician on his path to stardom.
Several chapters were difficult to read, because they were touching upon a tough subject and weren’t exactly explicit but still quite detailed. They were heartbreaking and helped building Liam’s character and identifying his trauma and boundaries. Of course, with such a background, the book is a slow burn. That also means that, once they take the plunge, it’s scorching hot–but also very emotional.
The villains–yes, there are several–are quite villainy. All the band’s members as well as Ella will suffer because of them, one way or another. There’s not a dull moment in the book. Every time you think everything is sorted out, a new problem arise, making the characters–and their relationship–stronger.
I can’t say enough how the narration is perfect. Jason Clarke delivers another outstanding performance, and Erin Mallon is her usual amazing self. An audiobook you don’t want to miss. Box of tissues not included.

Stand up and take a bow Samantha Christy!! You have once again brought thought, compassion and understanding of tough and sometimes debilitating issues and wrapped them in a fuzzy blanket with characters that are true to life and beautifully written. Liam and Ella both bring baggage to the relationship and it is the journey they travel together throughout the book that helps to overcome the fears. While the reader still gets a glimpse of the others in the band by no means do they overshadow Liam and Ella. I cannot wait for more in this series.

I’m later than I planned on getting to this review. This was the last book I read in January and I made it just under the wire. I think I finished it about 11:30 am.
This the second book in the Reckless Rockstar Series and as much as I enjoyed the first book. I liked this one even more. This is the story of Liam and Ella. Liam and Crew, the hero of the first book, have been best friends and band mates since childhood and they know what haunts the other. At one point in Reckless Obsession, Crew makes a statement that Liam had a much rougher childhood than Crew did and that is a true statement. At this point, I’m going to add a trigger warning that there is childhood molestation in this book.
Crew has written the lyrics for Reckless Alibi and Liam writes the melody. However, Liam has been in a slump lately and so far Crew has been covering for him but he knows, he has to step up to the plate. Enter our heroine Ella. Ella and her friends have been at a Reckless Alibi concert and after the concert are standing at the backdoor hoping for an autograph. Ella is pushed and lands right in front of Liam. He picks her up and insists on taking her home in a limo. While they are driving, all kinds of melodies flood his mind and he is so relieved. He figures that Ella is his muse. The group has an upcoming tour and he asks if she can go with them, strictly platonic of course. She thinks this is weird but it’s not every day one is asked to go on tour with an up and coming group and as she has the type of job where she can work anywhere, she draws pictures for children’s books, she agrees to go along with them.
Ella and Liam grow to become very close and as their friendship grows, so does their attraction to each other. But, he has no problem with meaningless one-night hookups but that’s about it. So how does he handle his growing feelings for Ella and how does she handle a guy who she is more and more drawn to but refuses to take that next step? This is the basis of the story.
I LOVE both Liam and Ella. As we learn about Liam’s issues, our heart breaks for him. And I mean really breaks. He’s in a no win situation. He lives with his uncle he despises and who has a major hold on Liam and there is nothing he can do to really get away. Without going into any real detail, Ella slowly guesses why Liam is the way he is and she is so supportive of him it truly warms the heart. They are both such well developed and well written characters. The author handles things gently and with sensitivity.
Because I raced through this book, trying to get it read and because I got it on Kindle Unlimited and because I know I want to read it again, slower this time, once I return it, I plan on buying a copy so I can read it when its call is so loud I can’t resist it any longer. Moreover, I know for a fact it will be calling. I loved the first book in this series, I love this one and there is one more I can’t wait to read. And while I did read the first book, I think this can be read as a stand-alone book. I really recommend these books.

"My eyes open abruptly when I smell perfume. Staring at the pillow next to me, I realize I'm not in my own bed. Motherfucker. I did it again....I really have hit an all-time low, going home with a stranger on the day I buried my mother."
Sooooo good! Geez. Take a rockstar romance and surround it with some of the most serious issues and you get an amazing story.
Liam and Ella
"On a scale of one to ten, exactly how quirky am I? About three hundred and fifty."
In this book, Liam is the rockstar and Liam is the one with emotional and physical issues stemming from his childhood. Ella is the woman who puts him back together.
"Well, as my friend I give you permission to tell me if and when I cross the threshold to assholery."
Liam and Ella have an instant connection but he doesn't believe he is worthy of love and has so many issues with commitment, intimacy, and love. He is broken and with good reason. Ella doesn't shy away from him. She feels for him but knows she has to try to help him heal. She goes slow, she is patient, she is understanding. She is just an amazing woman throughout this whole book. You will love her for sure!
"The way she wants me is amazing. Other women have wanted me, but only for sex. After they had me and knew how messed up I was, they didn't want me again. The way Ella wants me is different. She wants my heart. My soul. And I'll be damned if I don't want to give it to her."
I can't say much about the story without ruining it but it is a must read for sure. It is a stand alone but the whole series is so good and all of the characters are in all of the books so I recommend reading them all in order.

לליאם יש מחסום כתיבה והוא לא מצליח ליצור לחנים חדשים. הוא פוגש את אלה שמעוררת בו השראה ובזכות הקשר ביניהם הוא חוזר להלחין. לליאם יש עבר קשה מאוד. בספר הראשון נרמז שזה קשור איכשהו למשפחה של אביו ושל דודו, דירק, ובספר הזה אנחנו מגלים במה מדובר. אלה עוזרת לו להתגבר על מה שעבר.
ספר נהדר ומקסים, מאוד נוגע וצובט, וכתוב ברגישות. הסופרת חושפת בספר לאט ובהדרגה את סודו של ליאם ועושה את זה בצורה רגישה מאוד ומוצלחת, ומערכת היחסים בינו לבין אלה מקסימה. ממש אהבתי והתרגשתי, מאוד נגע בי. הוא עוד יותר טוב מהספר הראשון. לשמחתי היום גיליתי שתורגם הספר השלישי בסדרה ואני מתכוונת לקרוא גם אותו.

5 Brilliant Stars! Samantha Christy kicked up the suspense in Reckless Invitation as Liam journeys to find closure and happiness. Liam’s pain runs deep and is felt so easily. While Ella’s compulsion to be the balm to his pain is unconditional and sweet. The overall storytelling is amazing as we also learn more about the whole Reckless Alibi family without loosing the focus of Liam’s story. LOVED the added suspense and the way this series continues without epilogues. Thank you Samantha for writing about painful topics with compassion and heart! I’m super excited to read the final book!

Liam plays guitar in a band but he also writes melodies for his band called “Reckless Alibi”… He hasn’t been able to produce any new material in a while and he is in a world of hurt… He has lost the one person he needed to hang onto. His mom was everything he had left but now he can finally escape his uncle. Ronni seems to take his mind off his troubles but only for a short while… He has skeletons that haunt him daily. Will he ever heal? Will he ever have what the others have? He doesn’t believe he can or ever will.
Ella has had her heart broken in the worst way imaginable. Her friends decide that her moping around for two weeks is long enough and it’s time to get out and live again. What she didn’t expect was to fall into the arms of another man… literally!!!
Liam can’t seem to look away… What is it about her that draws her to him? She is beautiful but she doesn’t seem to be like any other woman he has ever met. It doesn’t matter anyway... He can never be with her. His demons are real and he will never subject any woman to his dark shadows. It’s a very dark place where no one should ever be… A little misunderstanding reveals that she shares his surname. Fate? I think so…. #EverythingHappensForAReason
Ella needs to forget about him and what he did to her or rather to them and their once perfect relationship. Can she just leave and go on the road? They are quickly becoming friends but she knows he has secrets. She can see the hurt in his eyes. She can feel his pain but she never expected…. that….
Liam has been through hell and back. His life was ripped apart at the tender age of 11 years old. This brought tears to my eyes. No child should endure what he had to endure. Losing your best friend in the process… my heart is still breaking for Liam.
Ella is what Liam needs but he cannot allow himself to open up. She can never know what happened to him to make him the man he is today. He allows no touch, no caress… He is damaged goods and she deserves better.
I can go on forever but I will stop here. There is SOOOOO much more story to read and this is a MUST read ladies!
This story will bring you to your knees. It is SOOO well written. The heartbreak you feel down to your bones. My heart ached so badly I wanted to hug the little boy Liam once was. I wanted to hug the man Liam is now. I cried ugly tears. I felt his pain as if it was me living his past. Ella was exactly what he needed and he didn’t know it until he let her in.
The characters are very well thought through. They each have their own POV and this story will captivate you from beginning to end. You will cry, you will laugh, you will fall in love and you will never forget this courage of this man and what life put him through.
Samantha, I have told you time and time again what an amazing author you are but with this book… you have truly outdone yourself. Amazing as always! I don’t want to stop but I know the readers will soon get bored of my ranting about how fantastic you are because they themselves know you and your amazing work! Well done on an epic story! One not to be forgotten!!!

הדבר החשוב ביותר עבור כל אדם בכלל וכל ילד בפרט, זה לדעת שיש לו אי של שפיות ומקום מבטחים בביתו ובחיק משפחתו. מחקרים הוכיחו מזמן שלסביבה השפעה רבה על אופיו של אדם ועל מי שהוא יהפוך להיות.
לצערי, לא כולם מקבלים הזדמנות ראויה לחיים טובים וחלקם גדלים להיות מבוגרים המטילים ספק בהיותם שווים וראויים.
ליאם הוא הגיטריסט והמלחין של רקלס אליביי. דמותו תפסה את תשומת ליבי ועוררה את סקרנותי לאור הרמזים הרבות שפוזרו לגבי חייו ומה הוא נושא על גבו. דבר לא הכין אותי למה שגיליתי.
לא משנה כמה המילים יפות ומיוחדות ולא משנה אם הביצוע בוודאות נפלא. אם אין את הלחן שיגרום לזמרים להעביר את הרגש אל לב המאזינים, זה לא יצליח. ליאם מוצא את עצמו בלי השראה ולא משנה מה עשה, פשוט לא הצלילים סירבו לצאת ממנו.
עד שפגש את אלה.
אלה היא מאיירת מוכשרת ובחורה צעירה המנסה ללקט את שברי ליבה ולהמשיך הלאה בחייה. בהופעה של רקלס אליביי, שהלכה אליה לא בחפץ לב, היא רואה את ליאם.

Emotionally gripping.
That is the first thing that came to mind after reading this book. It was heartwrenching reading what Liam went through as a child. Knowing that too many children experience that for real. My heart hurts so bad for them. I wish I could save them all. Thank you Samantha Christy for bringing attention to a subject that many people seem to ignore.
It wasn't a huge gut wrenching sob fest, it was also amazingly sweet. The relationship between Liam and Ella grows naturally and sweetly. It's not easy but they keep fighting. I love them. And the relationship between the bandmates is so refreshing. Especially with the surprise at the end.
This was another amazing book by Samantha Christy and I am so glad I stumbled upon her books one day. I honestly don't think I would be the same without them.

Samantha Christy has a gift in creating great leading men in her books, but her leading ladies are just as strong and fierce. Liam is an upcoming rockstar with a dark past. He believes he is not capable of falling in love, but one night he discovers Ella and she instantly becomes his muse. You get so involved with the characters that every emotion is felt while reading it. Ella is independent, smart and strong, and even when Liam tries to push her away, she helps him overcome his past.

As with all Samantha Christy’s books, this one was amazing! The abuse that Liam endured was horrendous but so glad it wasn’t terribly descriptive. None the less, those parts were hard to get through. I fell hard and fast for both Liam and Ella. Their love for one another is as strong as the mighty oak and they with withstand everything that is thrown at them together. And Ronni can go suck a d$$k. That woman! I am so overly excited for Garrett’s book. January needs to hurry up!

Deserved 5 stars, but I deserved a warning
This was an incredible read. However, there should be a trigger warning regarding the scenes from the past where his molestation was described. I personally read all bad reviews first to see what really bothers some people so I hope someone reads this and is warned if this subject is unacceptable to them.

ספר שני בסידרת רקלס אליביי, והספר הזה הרבה יותר מוצלח מהראשון.
שוב אנחנו קוראים על חברי להקת רקלס אליביי שנמצאים ממש לפני הפריצה הגדולה שלהם. במקום להתפרע ולתת לתהילה לעלות לראש שלהם, הסולן קרו והסולנית ברי התאהבו זה בזה (בספר הראשון) והם זוג חזק. ועכשיו תורו של ליאם, הגיטריסט.
כמו קרו בספר הראשון, גם ליאם הוא דמות פגומה לגמרי שסוחבת איתה צלקות מהעבר. ועדיין הדמות של ליאם הרבה יותר מוצלחת מהדמות של קרו. גם הדמות של אלה, הצלע הנשית שכנגדו, הרבה יותר מוצלחת מהדמות של ברי מהספר הראשון.
אני לא רוצה לעשות ספויילר לעלילה, אז אסתפק בלכתוב שהיא כתובה בצורה מאוד רגישה ונוגעת ללב, ושהמטען שליאם היה צריך להסיר מעל כתפיו בספר הזה כבד הרבה יותר מזה של קרו, ולמרות זאת ליאם מצליח להיות עדין ורגיש ולא מתקרב לשמוק שקרו היה.

It was a pretty good story of up and coming rock stars and in particular, Liam. Liam's story was horrible and author treated it sensitivly. I loved Elle and Liam.

I want to hug Liam throughout this whole book. His story is so heartbreaking, but I just love watching Ella heal him and watching them open up to each other. This series is so amazing and I cannot wait for more

I don’t even know where to start. I knew from the first book in the series that Liam had lots of dark secrets in his past. His story is so heartbreaking it makes you want to cry for him. But Ella is amazing. She’s such a great character. I love how both of them are so strong. Neither one overshadows the other.

Reckless Invitation KU & purchased, 316 pgs ****.* 3/15/21 Liam & Ella
4.5 star. This was a great story and I was so happy to get all the other characters that I grew to love in the first book! Liam & Ella were perfect for each other, their chemistry and slow romance dance were great. The flow to the book was perfect, I could not put it down. This book had a little more action and excitement to it. There was heartbreak over Liam’s past and Ella was the right person to walk into his life to help him deal with all of that. The only think missing, and I have been around a lot of concerts over the years since we toured as a sound/lighting company, is the groupies, sex, drugs and alcohol that is at every rock concert. Groupie sex is barely mentioned in these 2 books but I can assure you it does happen whether the group is married, dating or what. There isn’t any angst or real reason for jealousy in these books. It just a simple romance story with a group of people that sing in a band. There is so so much more to it but I do love the stories and the characters in the last 2 books. I am looking forward to the next one as well.

It had potential at the beginning but as the story went on it was unsalvagable.
The premise of this woman who is always not-available but really available is boring, "ooh I can't love someone else I'm still in love with my ex", literally the next day "oh my God I have fallen in love with this new man and I didn't even know it" like really!!
There is no premise for her to be this attached so soon because the hot cold act is just plain old and frustrating, if they were friends first then yeah I could maybe understand it but she literally falls in love with him faster than you can say 'chakakhan'.
And don't get me started on the ending of this book, because basically a magic briefcase labeled "solutions for every problem in your life" falls into his lap and POOFFFF he's healed and they lived happily ever after.

Second book in the series and it’s just gets better. What a read this was. Samantha sure did good with this one.
This has such a hard hitting subject to overcome, any kind of abuse is hard to read, but this was truly the kind of nightmares.
I felt Liam’s pain throughout. This one hits deep, certainly takes us on an emotional rollercoaster, ensuring we get all the feels.
Ella is a fantastic, she has so much patience and understanding. Another strong female character.
Great to catch up with Bria and Crew and seeing where they are heading.
As always, good to catch up with old faces, getting not one, but two, of our Stone Brothers, what more could we want.
Can’t wait for Garrets book now, Samantha left us plenty crumbs in this one to intrigue us. ❤️

I didn’t really care for the FMC. She was too whiny and annoying. Liam’s trauma was pretty sad and graphic. I don’t feel like he overcame it and should get the help he needs.

Can my heart take another instalment?… amazing, heartbreaking, soul searching
**This is book two of the Reckless Rockstar series. I urge you to read book one before you delve into this amazingly moving story because you’ll not only meet Bria and Crew and the rest of the band, but you’ll also get to see Liam’s journey even more. You will also want to read all Christy’s previous series, because they very cleverly interlink throughout the rest of her books. It’s like one huge family.
Well… I have to admit, I was already falling for Liam before I even started this book because in book one he’s the sweetest, most caring and incredibly loyal best friend to Crew. You see his kind hearted nature and the way he supports his fellow band mates in Reckless Alibi is nothing short of awesome. However, you know there’s something underlying that is twisting him up inside and it’s clear that a lot of that stems from his relationship with his Uncle, Dirk Campbell.
This book is where we discover the truly awful memories of his past that Liam has endured. It’s honestly heartbreaking. Parts of the story see things through Liams eyes as a young boy being abused by his adopted father. It’s harrowing and upsetting and I think it’s more difficult to read because the person Liam has become is afraid of love and as a result, he struggles to let anyone near him, except for his childhood friend Crew.
Then Ella falls into his life… literally and it scares him because for the first time in his life, he feels true love and the power and hope that can bring.
Ella is everything Liam needs to help bring him out of his state of perpetual hurt. He’s stuck in a rut. He sees his best friend start to find his life again after his own heartache, but he tells himself that he is too damaged to ever have what Crew and Bria have. Meeting Ella suddenly changes him though, and he rediscovers his passion, enabling him compose some of the most amazing music he’s ever produced. Convinced that she is his muse, he begs her to accompany the band on tour to help him continue his creative streak. Purely platonic… of course.
It’s a tough decision. Ella’s just broken up with her ex… she’s not looking for a relationship… she’s not even sure if she’s done the right thing in breaking up with Corey, even though he cheated on her. Despite her initial reluctance, there’s something about Liam that intrigues her and… he’s hot!! She’s not looking for love… she’s just helping out a struggling artist.
Obviously, that’s not how their relationship end up… but it’s traumatic for Liam as he starts developing strong feeling for Ella. He wants to give her everything she needs… he wants her more than he’s ever wanted anything beyond being in the band. But will his past prevent him being able to look to the future. Will Ella finally be able to unlock the door to his heart whilst keeping the demons at bay.
I absolutely love these books! They are fabulous. Christy writes with so much heart and feeling and you can really identify with her characters. I want to reach into the worlds she creates and love amongst the people she describes. I find myself wanting it to be real because you truly fall in love with all her amazing leading men and ladies.
