It's Complicated #4

Never Fall for Your One that Got Away

Rate this book
If life gives you a second chance with the one that got away, should you take it?

Noah Grant was my first. He was the guy who went from childhood friend to teenage love. The guy I spent one heady, intoxicating summer with, only to have my heart snapped in two—not by him, but by me.

Fast forward twelve years and just when I think I’m finally over Noah, he’s back. Older, wiser, hotter.

Definitely hotter.

Work throws us together, and there’s no avoiding him, even if I wanted to. And I don’t want to avoid him, although I know I should.

But Noah’s hiding something. And if I let myself get close, could his secret break my heart all over again?

Never Fall for Your One that Got Away is a laugh-out-loud, swoon-worthy rom com with a second-chance-love, a totally swoony guy, and sweet romance. As with all the books in the It’s Complicated series, this is a closed-door romance with some incredible kissing and all the feels. It is a full-length novel and can be read as a standalone story.

Steam Level: 🔥 (kissing only)

Twelve years ago Tabitha Greene broke up with Noah Grant- the boy she thought she'd be with forever. Despite their split, Tabitha never got over Noah, so seeing him at a wedding brings back all the memories of their fifteen month romance. Now Tabitha is a successful art gallery owner, and she is shocked to learn that Noah is now an art dealer whose client wants to purchase from her gallery. Soon Tabitha and Noah are taking a weekend trip just outside of the town where they grew up to meet with one of the artists who works exclusively with her gallery. They also find themselves taking a trip down memory lane and realizing that maybe they both still have unresolved feelings for one another. Could this be their chance at rekindling their old flame or is it better to leave the past alone?

This book is my new favorite in the series! I am quickly becoming a fan of second chance romance, and Noah and Tabitha had such a beautiful love affair. I really enjoyed the chapters that were flashbacks to when they first were together - those scenes were just *chef's kiss* 😍 I loved how Tabitha quickly admitted to herself that present day Noah is still the hottest and most irresistible man she's ever met. Seeing them spend time together in the town where they first fell in love was so romantic. I adored that they had a special oak tree where all the important parts of their relationship happened, and I liked how there was a storyline about saving the tree from being chopped down by land developers. Honestly, the tree was like a character in itself. The conflict in the end made total sense to me, and I liked how they communicated in the moment. Everything was resolved in the best way, and the epilogue was perfection! What a great ending to this charming series!

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from Kate O’Keeffe and Wild Line Books and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Noah Grant was my first. He was the guy who went from childhood friend to teenage love. The guy I spent one heady, intoxicating summer with, only to have my heart snapped in two—not by him, but by me. Fast forward eleven years and just when I think I’m finally over Noah, he’s back. Older, wiser, hotter. Work throws us together, and there’s no avoiding him, even if I wanted to. And I don’t want to avoid him, although I know I should. But Noah’s hiding something. And if I let myself get close, could his secret break my heart all over again?

My Thoughts: This was a fantastic read. Who doesn’t love a second chance romance trope? I certainly love this trope. This was my lunch book, so every day at lunch, regardless of the day, I would read this book and it would put me in a better mood for the afternoon. The story is narrated solely by Tabatha, from her perspective. This would be the perfect beach or lazy day read. The characters were well developed with depth, witty banter, deep connection, lots of chemistry, and very likable. I was instantly drawn to Tabatha and rooted for her to stand in her truth. There was tremendous growth in her character, which you felt like you were along for the entire ride. The author’s writing style was complex, creative, swoony, emotional, and kept you engaged from cover to cover. The spice level is minimum, I tend to gravitate more towards these type of books. This book released late last month and I would highly recommend to pick it up.

Sadly this is the last book in Kate O'Keefe's "It's complicated" series but it has been a wonderful journey.
OMG, it couldn't be, the tall dark gorgeous boy that she had walked away from thirteen years ago was now a tall gorgeous man and still pulling at her heart strings, she had to escape from this wedding reception pronto.
Tabitha Greene had lived at "the big house" her ultra wealthy and decidedly snobby parents had handed her everything on a platter, exclusive boarding school, university, a London flat and an art gallery, even though she had been engaged to Magnus for a short period she had never forgotten Noah Grant, the trainee mechanic who had been her first love, from the first time she saw him when he stopped to repair her much loved Beetle car she was smitten.
Tabitha was a party girl, along with her group of close friends and their boyfriends she was the last one to reach thirty and she was still unattached.
Tabitha and Noah had spent many months together in Marlingborough, the village where they both grew up, they made plans for the future but Tabitha was going to university, she was easily led, and when her parents and friends convinced her that Noah was not the boy for her, it broke her heart but she finished with him.
Thirteen years later and he was in her gallery to purchase expensive paintings and her heart was doing somersaults, could he possibly be remembering what they had meant to one another or was he remembering the cruel way that she had ended things.
This story follows Tabitha and Noah re kindling their love, the fight for a piece of land and a tree that meant so much to both of them, of Tabitha's divided loyalties, of the class system that still exists but mostly of Tabitha growing up and facing her fears and standing up for what she believes in. This book will make you laugh and it will make you cry but it will leave you feeling happy.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

Meeting Between Bread. Most of you know me pretty well. I don’t accept very many friends because I feel it’s not for me. And of late not a fan of the platform. Almost every FB friend I have known on some level, you are not just a number. But if you are on my FB, it’s because we have some connection. I would love to see if we can still chat more than just likes... I decided to participate in an experience called “Meeting between Bread”. The idea is to see who reads a post without a photo. We are so consumed with technology that we forget the most important thing: good friendship. If no one is reading this message, it will be a short social experiment. But if you finish this till the end, I would love you to comment in ONE WORD about us. For example, a place, an object, a person, a moment in which you remember us. Then copy this post and post it on your page (don’t share) and I’ll go to your page and leave a word that reminds me of you. Please don’t comment if you don’t have time to copy the text. This will destroy the experiment. Let’s see who spent their time to read and respond according to the common story.I loved this story. Tabitha was always searching for something and never really told her friends what it was until Noah came back into her life. Everyone but Zara told her he was not the one for her because he just a mechanic and she came from money but she never stopped loving him. She tried to date other guys but they came up short and she tried to party him out of her life but nothing worked. When they got back together it seemed all was good until a last minute hiccup happens. But then she stood up to her daddy and became an indepentent woman and won back the man of her heart and the respect of her daddy. I was given an ARC of the book and my review was given freely.

This book was my first book from Kate, and it's the last one in the series.

It took me a little time to dive into the story, but you first get immersed with her situation and friendships. I wanted to get to Noah so bad.

I liked the balance between the past and present, it was clear and filled the right gaps of knowledge at the right time.

I was bummed about the small misconception she had about him, but I was so happy it got resolved quick. I loved seeing them speak about their feelings and all.

All tree scenes were the best 🌳. Sometimes I felt Prue was a little superficial and dragged Tabitha a bit. However, the London Babes were the best. Her family was something else.. but it works out for the plot.

I did had some mixed feelings regarding Tabitha. I liked her, I truly did... but getting her to the breaking point of character development was a bit frustrating haha. After she reaches that, I was all in with her again. I do understand it's difficult to be in a position to have to choose between love and family. It took her time to know what she had to do, but I think it was resolved properly.

I wanted so much more of them together! I felt I got them back and then finished it so quick haha. But the epilogue was so sweet.

Check this one out and let me know what you think!

Fabulous Second Chance at First Love!

This book has everything and was so much fun to read I did not put it down. Tabitha is part of the wonderful "London Friends" that have all found their HEAS (their stories are all available on KU if you have it and are all worth reading), and she is the last to turn the big three-oh and to find her "one" - perhaps because she is still pining for her first love Noah. Naturally, they meet again after twelve years and the fun begins. There are wonderful supporting characters both in the friend group, Tabitha's family, her hometown, the wacky artist and even the dogs. The dialog is witty, the action is often laugh-out-loud, but the story also pulls at the heartstrings and I often found my "eyes leaking". There is heat but only steamy kisses - the rest is "behind closed doors" so every page added value to the story. I can't wait for more from this author. Enjoy!

Since I have always been, and probably always will be, a sucker for a second chance, this story pulled me in from the opening words. Tabitha and Noah have some very complicated (and angsty) history between them that I loved watching play out as they worked to untangle a little over a decade’s worth of hard feelings and unrequited love. This book definitely has it’s laugh-out-loud moments, but they’re set against some very deep and profound revelations that Tabatha discovers about herself, her family, and the world around her. I feel absolutely bereft that this is the end of the series and I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that whatever the author brings us next will feature some cameo appearances from the London Babes and their HABs.

Never Fall For Your One That Got Away

In Kate O’Keeffe’s fourth book in the It’s Complicated series, Tabitha reconnects with Noah, her first and only real love. Thrown together to get paintings by a local artist, Tabby and Noah are forced to spend time together while trying to move on from their shared past. Featuring an adorable dog named Echo as well as Tabby’s friend group who have already gotten their own HEA’s, Never Fall For Your One That Got Away is a delightful romance any fan of O’Keeffe’s should read.

When Tabitha was 16 met Noah and it was love at first sight . It lasted 15 wonderful months but from two different words they could not have lasted . Now after 12 years they meet again couples of times . Is it a fate ? Both of them are willing to give a second chance to their love .
I loved how much she loved him that every man in her life had to compare him with . I loved all the friends and the boyfriends . Their old tree and the mystery artist .

Delightfully charming:
This was another fabulous book and a wonderful end to the series. I found it quaint and endearing with its descriptive prose and small town feel.
I loved the close bond that existed between this crazy group of friends and it was fun catching up with all of them again. Noah and Tabitha made an adorable couple and I loved their deliciously sweet romance.

Love and just a little nerve-fluttering

I had the good luck to get a copy of this book in advance. The story is full of love – love for animals, for friends, for family, your truelove, yet also (of course!) about broken hearts and this means lost love. Fortunately for me there is no real angst, only a little nerve-fluttering.
The book is fun and easy to read. I loved it! Thank you, Kate, for the pleasurable hours – Doris, the human, not the hen😄

I have enjoyed the entire It's Complicated series! I love the playful humor and romance in this book! The humor especially between Maise, and Noah and Tabitha will make you laugh so hard. And I love how Noah and Tabitha rekindle their romance and then learn to move on to make a new future together.

Get ready for your book hangover when you read Never Fall for the One who Got Away because its coming. I think out of all of this books besides Kennedy’s story this book is one of my top two favorites in this series!

Aghhh. It’s so good. I’m sad it’s come to an end. There were a few tears, not sad tears maybe allergies. It was a heartwarming story, of all four books this one has got to be my favorite. The story means a lot more when Tabitha stands up for herself. And of course the history between these two characters is amazing, after spending a few hours together and they’re back like old times. I love Kate’s writing its an easy read I often forget I am actually reading. I loved it.

Thank you for the book, I will continue reading the Darcy series from Kate.

With a twist of heart, a sense of humor and a handful of irresistible, O'Keefe makes quite a first impression. From yearning to tempting, Tabitha and Noah cast a spell that is hard to break and easy to love. A breath of fresh air.

This was a fun read! Never Fall For Your One That Got Away is the fourth book in Kate O’Keefe’s series, It’s Complicated. This series has been so interesting and I loved the characters. I was excited to get a chance to read this one too!
Tabitha finally gets her own story. Tabitha was a bit of a more complicated character in the last books so I wasn’t sure how this book was going to go but it was really good. Tabitha has finally let go of her “wild” ways and is getting more serious about life. However just as her life is getting back on track, the one who got away, Noah walks back into her life.
Tabitha was definitely an interesting character, but I did enjoy reading about her. She was learning to be herself. It was fun to read about Tabitha growing and seeing what it meant to stand on her own two feet. She had relied on her family for a lot but she needed to learn how to stand up for herself. Noah really helped bring out the best in her. He challenged her to be better.
Noah was a sweetheart and although we don’t get to see his perspective, I still enjoyed his character. Noah had worked hard for everything in his life. He was a relatively successful man but he was still nursing a broken heart. He had never stopped loving Tabitha. It was cute to read about Noah interacting with Tabitha, you could really tell that he loved her. But he was still wary of trusting her because of their past.
Noah and Tabitha were a fun couple. They balanced each other out and helped make each other better. I liked how they knew each other before they fell in love. They had some rough moments but it made them stronger. I also liked the side characters and sweet dogs that O’keefe adds to her books.
Never Fall For Your One That Got Away is a wonderful book. I would recommend it to those who enjoy rom-coms. Never Fall For Your One That Got Away is a clean romantic comedy.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

This book was a little hard for me to get into and it was just okay. To me the beginning took to long and was to drawn out. It did get a little better at the halfway mark, but once Tabby and Noah got back together it was very quick. This author is new to me and this book was very YA in my opinion. If you are looking for a sweet, witty, HEA then this book would be good to check out. Tabitha was born into wealth and never had to work a day in her life, while her teenage love Noah was born to a mechanic with plans to take over his father's shop one day. But once Tabitha's dad intervened she ended it with her one true love and Noah left town to make something of himself. 12 years later they see each other and end up working together and falling back in love, but their relationship still has the same issues as it did when they were teens. Her father is still in her business and Noah won't stand to be put down again.

This book a a must read. It has the sweetest little details that all make sense as you go. following the story of 2 that have a lost love and begin to find each other again. I can picture it all so vividly ( which I struggle to do often!). It highlights class and stereotypes based upon them and how you should not judge a book by a cover.

I hope one day to have my own Echo and my own tree 🌳.

Swoony and Suspenseful

Never Fall for Your One That Got Away, book four in the It's Complicated series by Kate O'Keefe, finishes the series on a highly satisfying note by telling Tabitha's story. Tabitha Greene, the youngest of the London Babes group chat, has stopped her signature party-girl ways and vowed to act like an adult on the verge of her thirtieth birthday. But acting like an adult means more than declining a nightly glass or three of wine and party invitations, as she will find out later.

Noah Grant, a former trainee mechanic turned high-value art dealer, was Tabitha's first love at age sixteen. Under pressure from her family--the Greenes of the Big House in the village--and her friends from her exclusive boarding school, Tabitha broke up with Noah right before leaving for university. It broke both their hearts, but seeing him again after twelve years apart rekindles the torch Tabitha has always carried for her first love. She had dated other men but never found one who could compare to Noah. Meanwhile, Noah has been mysteriously absent before he shows up at the reception of a wedding all the London Babes and their boyfriends (Zara's Asher, the Back-Up Guy; Kennedy's Charlie, the Enemy; and Lottie's James, the Fake Fiance) are attending. Seeing Tabitha's reaction (Lottie says she looks like she's "seen a ghost"--and in a way, she has), the Babes squeeze the story out of her: a chilly night, a car stopped by the side of the road in an area with no cell phone service, a fortunate encounter with a very handsome trainee mechanic named Noah, a meeting by the old oak tree across the river, a first kiss, a declaration of love, disapproval from Tabitha's family and friends, secret meetings when he entered the Big House by the servants' entrance, the breakup, twelve years of silence, and then Noah's sudden appearance at the reception. (Flashback chapters fill out details--a helpful bonus.) The Babes respond on a continuum from " how romantic! " to "just a coincidence". Then...

Noah comes to the gallery Tabitha owns with her snobby classmate Prue and explains that his client, a rich Saudi Arabian, wants some works that their gallery carries. Prue suggests that "Tabby" and Noah travel to a village near the one where they grew up, to see an eccentric artist who will only deal with Tabitha. This artist, Jed, agrees to see them if the dog Tabitha is watching doesn't bother his cat. Of course, she agrees. Of course, chaos ensues and Jed tells them to come back the next day. Noah rents a room above the local pub, the Noble Pigeon, and Tabitha spends the night at the Big House..

The next day, Jed informs them that the paint-soaked paw prints of her dog and his cat have inspired him to create a new series of artwork. Tabitha and Noah have lunch at the Noble Pigeon, where Tabitha notices an original Frisksits painting on the wall and asks the publican about it, since the anonymous Frisksits is her favorite artist. The publican, Mr. Mayhew, is cagey about its provenance, but their attention is stolen by a rag-tag group of protesters trying to stop a development from destroying a field across the river and causing "their" oak tree to be cut down. For old times' sake they visit the tree and discover that his love for her is as evergreen as hers for him. They wrap their arms around each other, kiss passionately, and--in keeping with O'Keefe's closed-door conventions--pull apart breathlessly. This appears to be a happy ending, but it's less than one-third through the book.

As Tabitha's thirtieth birthday approaches, and so does the date of the tree's demise, Tabitha and Noah go through London as an official couple. Tabitha convinces the Babes and their men to join her and Noah at a protest before heading to her birthday party. In the middle of the protest, Tabitha's father informs her that he is one of the parties planning the development, and it wouldn't look good for a member of his own family to be seen protesting. Trapped by his financial hold on her--he put her through college, bought the gallery and a nice flat for her--she leaves the protest and takes her friends to her now-ruined party.

When Noah asks the glum birthday girl what's wrong, Tabitha says she can't go against her father's intended development, even for the tree. He tells her to stand up to her dad--to act like an adult. She whispers miserably that she can't, and he leaves again. This time she has no hope that he will return.

Having discovered Frisksits' identity (who?) and the real reason Noah has been away (why?), Tabitha finally acts like an adult and gets her father to agree to her plan to take over the gallery and return the flat, escaping his hold over her. Then she finds Noah chained to "their" tree, explains, apologizes, and kisses him as the bulldozers leave. (Why? Ask Mr. Greene...) This looks like another HEA, but the Epilogue at "their" tree beats it all!

I loved the characters (swoony) and the plot (suspenseful). You'll love it, too. Read it today!

**CONTAINS SPOILERS!! A SWEET 3.8 STARS**

“It’s always been you Noah. Always”

Noah Grant. No one has ever come close to Tabitha Greene’s first love. She still remembers the first time they met—her yellow VW Beetle breaking down on the side of the road and Noah coming to her rescue on his tractor.

Being with Noah was the best 15 months of her life. She thought they’d be together forever.

But that was a long time ago. Tabitha still remembers why she ended things—caving to pressure from her family and friends to find someone ‘more suitable,’ because a mechanic’s son simply wouldn’t do. It’s a mistake she wishes she could undo, breaking two hearts that day instead of one.

Now nearly 30, Tabitha is a successful London gallery owner, but she finds herself single and wondering what might have been. So imagine her surprise when Noah walks back into her life—into her gallery—12 years later. The feelings she thought she’d buried come rushing back in full force. He’s even more handsome than she remembers.

Noah, now a successful art dealer, is in London to purchase art pieces for his wealthy Saudi client, which means he and Tabitha will have to work together. But Tabitha is determined to guard her heart this time. She refuses to make the same mistake twice—or get hurt again.

What would you do if the man of your dreams, the one who got away, walked back into your life?

The One Who Got Away is a heartfelt second-chance romance about rediscovering love and rewriting the past.

Rating: 3.8 STARS!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So my first read of 2025!
While it wasn’t the book I pictured starting the year with, I knew I needed something light and cute to dive into before tackling my January Bookclub read.

Writing Style
The writing was very easy to read. I could pick this up at any moment and delve straight into the story without effort. The characters’ conversations flowed naturally and felt authentic, making it easy to stay engaged. It’s not overly complex—just a simple, feel-good story that’s perfect for unwinding. The dialogue, in particular, was a highlight for me. It felt so natural and easy, which gave the story a kind of early 2000s rom-com vibe.

The Characters
I warmed to the characters very quickly. The main couple, Tabitha’s friends and family, and even the inclusion of Echo all felt solid and well-integrated into the story. Their relationships worked well together, and I liked how natural and believable their dynamics felt.

Since this is the fourth book in the series—and I haven’t read the earlier ones—I’m guessing Tabitha’s character development has been gradual over time. Noah, on the other hand, was likeable but didn’t quite stand out as my favorite male lead of all time. That said, if you’re a teen and your boyfriend has a “Heathcliff moment” might make you swoon a bit! (lol, IYKYK). I appreciated how the book showed that the characters hadn’t truly moved on from one another, despite trying to see other people they inevitably compared that person to their first love — something I think some readers can relate to! Your first love can sometimes be put on a pedestal.

Storyline / Plot Twists
I liked the storyline—it was okay. I wouldn’t say it’s the best romance storyline ever, but it worked well and had its moments, even if it was slightly predictable. I think romance readers would enjoy it, though, especially with its small-town romance vibes and the use of the forced proximity trope.

The plot twist with Noah being Frisksits the whole time? I did kind of see it coming. Tabitha’s parents going round to tell Noah and his dad to disappear was very intriguing though.

And as for the picture being of the old tree—it honestly made me laugh more than anything. I get the significance of the oak tree, but everything revolving around it started to feel a bit too cheesy and cringy at times. While I understand what the tree was meant to symbolise, it just felt cheesy and overdone for me.

The Ending
The ending was pretty much what I expected, though I was hoping it would include a wedding. That said, a proposal by the tree is cute too. Tabby and Noah really needed to get married—they knew from the start that they wanted to be together! Overall, it was a cute ending, which feels like the perfect way to sum up this book: cute.

Negatives
If I had to pick something I didn’t like, I’d say the story leaned a bit too cheesy at times—especially with the old oak tree. While the main character had to overcome the dilemma of standing up to her family and finding her independence, I felt Noah was a bit too ‘easy’ to win back. They fell back into sync so quickly, it was almost as if the 12 years apart hadn’t happened. I have mixed feelings about this because if Noah had been harder to win back or if there was more of a struggle, the story would’ve had more emotional depth and probably rated higher for me.

That said, there weren’t many layers to the story, but I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing!

Despite these points, the book was a cute, feel-good pick-me-up, and I did enjoy it. I’m in a bit of a reading slump at the moment, so having something light and easy to get into was exactly what I needed. It wasn’t overly complicated, and I appreciated not having to overthink anything while reading.

Would I recommend it? Yes—but mainly to romance readers who enjoy small-town love stories and happy endings.

This is the final book in the It's Complicated series, where we finally get Tabitha's love story. She has dated a bit, had a few boyfriends, and even a broken engagement, but she never really felt invested in any of those relationships. Because, as we come to find out, her heart still belongs to her first love, the one who got away; the who, as it turns out, she broke up with.

There really wasn't much to this love story, at least not plot-wise. Still, I found myself staying up way too late several nights in a row to read this book. The writing flows as smoothly as soft butter on warm rolls!

Also, second-chance romance is not my favorite motif. But this one was done very well. Other than the heartache they caused each other back in the day, and the time that they wasted when they could have been together, there was very little of the negative aspects I usually associate with this type of story: no failed marriages, or unwanted children, or vengeful ex's or the like.

Basically, most of the time - other than catching us up to what happened before - most of the time is spent with these two getting reacquainted. And realizing that they have still always loved one another.

I was confused as to whether or not Noah was actually an art dealer, or if that was just a story he made up. It seemed like his painting could have maybe supported him. And while I did understand why he kept that and some other information from Tabitha for awhile, there were some instances when he outright lied to her that I just did not care for.

Of course, it is lots of fun to see her friends and their significant others - as well as their dogs!

Tabitha's family are all horrible people. I can't believe that she didn't stand up more for Noah and her friends. It's no wonder she was such a jerk and a mess. It's actually amazing that she turned out as well as she did. Something that young Noah no doubt had a large part in.

Overall, a very pleasant read, with just a moderate amount of angst, and finally a happy ever after.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review
-Part romance, adults with teenage angst, mysteries easily solved, no suspense or chemistry.
-The relationship between Noah and Tabitha is complicated but the one between Tabitha and her family is more complicated than anything else.
-I had to roll my eyes at "No one ever falls for the one that got away"; that is so insanely false.
-When Tabitha told Maya she was bringing a client to meet an artist, she should have insisted Tabitha didn't bring Echo. Tabitha, on the other hand, was found totally unprofessional in this instance. Lacking maturity too.
-Mr. & Mrs. Maynew were hilarious, even if Basil was first called Barry (chapt16). BTW, we've known for a long time now that corn is not a vegetable but a cereal, while referring to Maisy.
-Anything after chapter 27 is extra cheesy.
-I'm confused as to why Maya would come back at Tabitha's place for forgotten toys. Shouldn't they be in her own flat?
-By 85% I had had enough of the BFF; they were wrong and the blame was still on Tabitha not on Noah. He was entirely right in all this. I was still happy to see them through the story.
-I see Penelope Pooches is still in business and that Asher is still not fond of them...
-Echo was a nice addition but not surprisingly since all Tabitha's BFF gained a dog somehow.

There were a few instances when the info was incorrect and/or reversed later on. These are a few examples.
1. Haven't seen each other since they broke up. They calculate from when they first started dating. You start when you really do it, not before. All through the book everyone said 12 years but in reality it was a little less than 10 years.
2. How can it be past 3:30 in the afternoon when they met Jed at noon? They almost did nothing at his house and yet 3 hours have passed.
3. Being called Duchess. First thing you know is that she didn't like the moniker (14%), then she says she likes being called like that (67%) like she always did.
4. "It's something Fen said to me earlier today. Something I never knew about until a short while ago". LOL, the short while ago being earlier today.

🅼🆈 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆:

OMGGGGGGG..... I'm still just reeling and taking a minute after reading this ride.
Some books just bring you these loads of overwhelming feelings that has an instant and constant smile on your face.

First off, that blurb.. Oh my... I don't know how any one can read that and not snatch this book as the matter that your ex could be the one, most cases it's big heck No.

But for Tabitha, fate definitely had other plans for her and if your Ex is the Handsome and Swoony Noah Grant how can you not update him to a Current status in your life.

So Tabitha owns her own gallery and comes from a wealthy family. While attending a wedding she happens to lay eyes on her blast from the past, that's Noah, who'd been her love that was something else and someone no man in her life has been on par with.

Nothing happens much as she runs away and she was so freaking about it.

When a new art dealer comes to their gallery, Tabitha and her friend are excited as he represents a wealthy Saudi client.
But when the time comes to meet this art dealer its none other than her ex, Noah.

I could feel the underlying tension and feelings unresolved between these two right from the start.

The chapters told in past helps us to understand what happened and how it all started and also brings us the pulse of how crazy these two were for each other.

I loved how Noah makes Tabitha see herself in a different light and the way he calls her, Duchess. I FREAKING MELTED EVERYTIME NOAH CALLED TABBY, DUCHESS. 😍😍😍😍

The twist of the paintings was so freaking surprising and also genius as I so didn't guess who could it be. Ahhh.. These two, I'm still sighing!! I'm so rereading this one soon. Loved loved this one. 💕💕💕💕💕

I was excited to read the last book in Kate O’Keefe’s It’s Complicated series, and I have to say that Never Fall for Your One that Got Away did not disappoint. This book made me laugh, sigh, swoon, and smile. It was such a fun read.

This book focuses on Tabitha Greene the last remaining single member of the group. After many years apart, Tabitha sees Noah—the one that got away—at a wedding, before Noah has a chance to speak to her, Tabitha books it out the door, too afraid to talk to Noah again. Tabitha and Noah connect again when he asks for help in buying some artwork. As Tabitha and Noah work together, Tabitha starts to hope that she has a second chance with the only man she has ever loved.

This book includes
-wonderful friendships between the women
-first love flashbacks
-an eccentric artist
-artwork created by a crazy cat and dog
-S.O.F.T or Safe our Field and Tree
-crazy tree hugging protesters
-nosy pub owners
-a mystery artist
-swoony kisses under a tree
-references to Keanu Reeves
-love for all things Kate Middleton

I love Tabitha and Noah together. It was so sweet to see the flashbacks of their relationship. I did get frustrated with Tabitha toward the end of the book, but I understand why she made or felt she had to make the decisions she did. Noah was so good—he definitely has a Keanu vibe going. I adored the end when Tabitha finally stands up for herself and her love for Noah. It is so sweet.

Thank you to the author for an ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Tabitha Greene and Noah Grant dated for over a year as teenagers, but she ended the relationship before leaving for university because of pressure from her wealthy family and friends. It's been twelve years since their breakup, and Tabitha now runs an art gallery in London which is backed by her father. She's attending a wedding one evening when she unexpectedly runs into Noah and quickly realizes that she's never gotten over him. After hiding out in her flat for the weekend and hoping that the encounter was a fluke, Tabitha heads to work on Monday morning only to find that her assistant has booked her an appointment with an art consultant who turns out to be none other than Noah. His client is interested in a piece by an up-and-coming artist who will only work with Tabitha, necessitating a road trip to a town a short distance from where they grew up. Sparks fly between them once again as they work together, but the family pressures that caused them to break up when they were teenagers remain a challenge. Will Tabitha's family stand in the way of her happiness once again?

This was such a cute story! Tabitha and Noah's second chance romance was super sweet and I found it very easy to root for them to overcome all of the obstacles that stood in their way. In addition, I really enjoyed Tabitha's journey of self-discovery and growth over the course of the story. She had started to make positive changes in her life even before Noah came back into it, but his reappearance was an additional catalyst for her learning to stand on her own two feet. She was justifiably proud of what she had accomplished with the gallery and proved that she could make it on her own without her parents' financial support.

Overall, I loved "Never Fall for Your One That Got Away" and highly recommend it for all fans of sweet contemporary romance and romantic comedy. It was the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last.

Deserves more than just 5 *.
Tabitha and Noah, college sweethearts, at least in secret, their first for both with big plans for the future. Socioeconomic and class differences however separated them, imposed by Tabitha’s father, however. Twelve years later, at a wedding, Tabitha sees Noah and is so shook up that she runs away petrified. A reaction like that is certainly unexpected from an encounter with one’s first love that had adequate closure, making Tabitha realise that her feelings for Noah are so very far from being buried. This novel is a well-written story of two people who still have deep emotional attachments for each other. The characters are very well developed and described and the change in their circumstances is told so well. The good use of language, vocabulary, and scene-appropriate witty dialogue makes this an ideal novel for lovers of the rom-com genre. Their lives could reconnect if only Tabitha could shake away her divided loyalties and stand up to her family, her father particularly. I think that Noah has the patience of 100 men, which is just as well as one of their characters must have the resilience to see the story to a well-deserved HEA. I am more than happy to recommend this charming romantic comedy.

Never Fall for Your One that Got Away is a mouthful of a title. It's a light romcom that gives off slight Persuasion vibes. The heroine Tabitha is the daughter of a very posh, tight-upper-lip sort of a couple. In her youth she fell wildly in love with Noah who was not accepted by her family because he was a mechanic's son and not of their set. She broke up with him after some persuasion from her family, but she never got properly over him. Now it's twelve years later and Tabitha lives in a flat that was bought by her father and runs an art gallery that was, you guessed it, bought by her father. Noah appears back in her life, and she's just as much in love with him as ever. But her parents have just as many expectations as before, and Noah doesn't want to be her dirty secret.

All the plot twists that come as a surprise for Tabitha are completely predictable for the reader but it was a sweet, entertaining story, and I liked the way she had to become her own woman and choose Noah to make it work.

Steam level: kissing.
