We bought this book to read before we got our puppy to use as a guide for training. Prior to the arrival of our pup, it seemed fine & sensible however it has turned out to be pretty useless.
The author claims in the text that everything is 'easy'. See, toilet training, sit, come when called, down, wait, sit at a distance, wave, spin, play dead, find the lost toy etc.
Perhaps it is easy for an experienced dog trainer but it's not true for everyone & there's no information to suggest at what age these techniques may be 'easy' to teach.
The information about toilet training is woefully inadequate - just one paragraph.
There's also too much information about different dog breeds which I don't think is necessary in a book on dog training.
The reason for two stars is that there's an interesting chapter called 'Building bonds' about how dogs think & thinking about things from the perspective of dogs.
