I’m going to preface my review by saying, surprisingly so, I actually enjoyed this book. Honestly, I'm shocked because I just knew I wasn't going to make it through the entire book. Inspirational/Christian romances are NOT my jam. I'm not saved enough for this genre. These types of books are not my literary ministry but, The Bridge was still a sweet love story about healing, forgiveness, and perseverance. Harmony and Adron were exactly what each other needed at just the right time. They're both fresh off a divorce and dealing with issues but, are still willing to give this love thing a try. I love the reveal about their past connection. I thought that was adorbs. This was a very angst free storyline but, the hint of drama with Harmony's ex-husband and overbearing mama managed to keep it interesting. That bomb dropped at the end about Kyle had me ready to fight. The Bridge was a lighthearted and refreshing read. It touches on faith, the power of prayer, second chances, and redemption. If close door romances with a side of religion is your cup of tea then, this book is for you.
This was cute, but something was missing. Nothing was really happening, and I had to tell myself to continue a few times because it's not a long book, but it felt long.
I did like the couple though, and how Adron would stand up for Harmony and prove he was the right man for her. I also like the ending, I think it was perfect after all poor Harmony had to go through.
Wow! This is so different from what we are used to from M. Monique, but a welcome change for sure! What a moving and powerful read about faith, the power of prayer, second chances, redemption and love! I loved the analogy of the bridge, and learning that by trusting God we never know what he has in store for us on the other side! My heart broke over and over for Harmony as she suffered through the demise of her marriage! Not only that, but the way her mother continually put her down, just broke her spirit. Moving and starting over was really the only choice Harmony had, and she was going to make the best of it. Adron, was a bit hood, but a gentleman with a sweet spirit! He had gone through some things in his life as well that changed him, but he always knew that there was a bigger purpose for his life. This love story was everything I needed! Both Adron and Harmony took their time with each other and trusted God to see them through their challenges. Can we talk about the prayers? The way these two prayed for the other person, and individually to God for their relationship to work was beautiful! The gems and lessons that were taught here were so uplifting! I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this read! Great job! 👍👍👍
This was a pretty enjoyable story. I kept putting it off because I didn't know how I felt about Christian religious love stories. But since I enjoyed the few I've been reading so far, I decided why not? Especially since it's M. Monique. She usually doesn't disappoint in her stories. We meet Harmony, and she had a lot going on. She's freshly divorced and had lots of healing to do. Because of her ex, her family, and the people around her, her confidence took a hit. I wish she was a bit stronger. She lets everything people say to her and about her get to her so severely. Then she meets Adron, a reformed street dude and cop. He, too, is freshly divorced and had his own past he was dealing with. His attraction to Harmony was immediate, and they are connected and have more things in common than they thought. I love their healing journey together and the redemption aspect of this book. Although this book wasn't very religious, it had a healthy amount of Christianity and faith in it. It's very refreshing. It was a nice change from what we usually get from M. Monique. No sex, nothing vulgar. Just a faith-based inspirational love story. 4.6⭐️
This couple blessed us through their own struggles. The song "Gracefully Broken" came to mind upon learning of their story. They taught the importance of trusting God in every season. Their story was the visual of God's favor and blessings. This book comes at a time when a pandemic has revealed so many broken homes. Hope needs to be restored and this inspirational romance did indeed provide that and more. Healing has to happen and self-love is apart of that healing! Great job!
Wow 🤭 This book was just… I have no words to explain how this book made me feel. This author is M E A N with her pen and it shows because with every book the experience is better but… this one? It was the love, the prayers, the willingness to be in the will of God for me! Man… Happy reading 💖
Beautiful story, a second Chance at love and allowing God to lead the path that he set forth.. Harmony & Adron were created for each other; they met at their lowest points but things turned around for them. M. Monique continues to show the range of her writing. I truly felt the inspiration and love oozing from the pages. The words were magical and inspiring. So many gems and aha-moments throughout.
This inspirational story was beautifully written. The pairing of Adron and Harmony was the work of the Almighty. Whew, the odds were stacked yet love prevailed. That twist at the end had me wanting to go after Harmony's horrible ex husband. I believe the author of this book has a true gift for writing whether it's romantic suspense, urban or inspirational. Bottom line, another great read by an amazing writer.
I don’t know where to begin with this review. My heart broke for harmony and what she went through. Kyle was a douche bag. What’s the saying you never miss your water til your well run dry!! Adron was completely my book baeeeeeee he had so much faith that I felt it reading this book!! Exs are something else y’all are exs for a reason!! What he went through was serious but I’m happy he got his life back on track!! His family is wonderful, her family was something else but I love her daddy.. I’m happy they got together before it was too late.. M. Monique my heart is so full after reading this I will be reading book again
The story was a lovely and inspirational love story. The spiritual side wasn't too heavy. Adron was a former guy from the streets, a veteran, and a former police officer. If that wasn't enough he had a new business as a sculpture. I told you this to remember to not judge a book by the cover. Adron and Harmony's meeting will be the most endearing story you will read. Part of this same story is a no good ex husband, and a ditsy female. The dosage of momma drama was taken care of nicely. I enjoyed this spiritual journey...
Now everybody knows if M. Monique wrote it you should be reading it. I haven't been failed not one time and everything that I have read so far has been top tier writing along with bookbaes that forever live in my soul. I love a good Christian romance and this was just perfection on paper. I loved Adron from beginning to end. When you imagine what you want in a husband it has his picture by the description. I loved Harmony Gor to heal before embarking on loves journey sometimes we miss that step. Reading the love journey between Harmony and Aston had my heart so full I didn't want it to end. I wanted to savor this reading experience. M. Monique has done it once again and I can't wait for what's new but in the meantime I have to finish her catalog
At this point I find that Monique can do no wrong. I have been in a book funk for weeks and I started this book and I cannot put it down I read this whole book in one sitting and it was perfect.
Harmony and Adron deserved each other. It was beautiful to see a book that brought faith in when things didn’t seem to be going how the felt.
I felt every emotion Harmony was going through and her HEA was long over due.
I'm truly inspired and blessed by Harmony and Adrons story. Nobody can heal like God can! He definitely sprinkled his blessings over them. I love a praying man and a man that speaks over his woman. Dro loved harmony in spite of anything. Dro was a man who embraced his flaws and vowed to be a better man going forward. He was just what harmony needed! God worked that thang out!! I loved it 👑📚
This whole book was simply amazing,I loved how Adron loved Harmony and breathe life back into her and showed her that all men aren't the same....I'm glad Harmony didn't fully give up on love and let God lead her....they both got their happy ending and found an unconditional love within each other after heart break......This was a different story line for M.Monique but I truly enjoyed this book I look forward to another. Keep up the amazing work peace and blessings to you. ✨🙏🏾🧿🥰
This was so goooooood! It is smooth and amazing and peaceful and loving and simmering and beautiful and worth ALL my time.
The highs and lows are so incredibly exciting, I swear I was in a zone the whole way through. I thoroughly enjoyed this masterpiece from start to finish, I’m sure you will as well 🙂.
Love Adron! He was just what a woman wanted in a man. GOD fearing, loving, protective, and solid. Don't test him though! Harmony and Adron were meant for each other. I didn't like the way Kyle lied about her being able to conceive, also how her mother was before she came to her senses. Zaria deserves finding love. Maybe it could be from Mallory brother. 🤷🏽♀️
BEST FRIENDDDDD this is by far MY FAVORITE OMFG! As myself suffers from depression and suicidal and overcoming even when it creeps back in... this book had me emotional, happy, sad, joyful and all other emotions i couldn’t have imagined going through reading A BOOK! i said i was go read it slow but it was too good to PUT DOWN! YOU DID THAT BOO! ENCORE 🎉🎉
Whew a message a didn’t know I needed. She never fails to deliver but this was right on time. So many times we feel like the end of a relationship is a sign of failure but it could very well be the stepping stone to greater. Though you may not always know what’s on the other side of the “bridge” You must always trust and have faith that God’s plan for you is the best plan. Never put limitations on what you deserve and what He can do. I really loved the bond that was built but also the messages of trust and forgiveness. Beautiful story
This story was so beautifully written. Adorn and Harmony’s story was a perfect reminder that even in your most broken place God still hears and heals you. It was refreshing to read a reminder on how important it is to trust that the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much. I don’t think you can write anything bad. Loved this!
Beautifully written is a inspirational love story that will inspire you to pray, believe and trust God no matter how many times the winds and waves rage, you will cross the bridge !
OMG! This book was adorable! Kyle is just rude and nasty! To keep up the lie for so long. Smh. He should really be ashamed of himself! But Adorn & Harmony are wonderful together. I loved how they prayed together. This book was everything! Wonderful M Monique ❤️
Adron & Harmony story was truly touching. The struggle Harmony had hit home & the way her mother treated her took me through so many emotions. I def was expecting the officer to come through and you def did that in the end for me. I love the Love they grew to have even after the trams Harmony ex caused her, she def deserve Adron
Sometimes we just need a sweet love story and thus was definitely that. This story definitely hit home for me. I really enjoyed the sweet love between Adron and Harmony.
Where do I start? What God has for me it is for me!!!! This book came at a much needed time for me. It gave me hope and I realized I can have of all the things God has in store for me. Read this book. If you need some encouragement this book is it! If you need some hope this book is it!
This was a beautiful story. Very heartfelt and genuine love. The family dynamics were a little strange on Harmony's end, but I would do well to see the full picture before judging. Adorn was such a man. Someone that Harmony could trust, lean on and love. I'm so glad the story ended the way it did.
I loved Harmony and Adron together. Adron was patient and allow God to do his work. Kyle was a punk and so was his parents. Kyle did not want Harmony to have a happy ending but look hiw God work. Great story.
This was different but needed! Harmony suffered for so long but dro came in and shifted her world! This book was inspirational, sweet, loving, and all out awesome! Y'all grab this book
