About the author

AMY JONES won the 2006 CBC Literary Prize for Short Fiction and was a finalist for the 2005 Bronwen Wallace Award. She is a graduate of the Optional Residency MFA Program in Creative Writing at UBC, and her fiction has appeared in Best Canadian Stories and The Journey Prize Stories. Her debut collection of stories, What Boys Like, was the winner of the 2008 Metcalf-Rooke Award and a finalist for the 2010 ReLit Award. Originally from Halifax, she now lives in Thunder Bay, where she is associate editor of The Walleye. The author lives in Thunder Bay, ON.

This couple needs to communicate more. After June goes back to Asher’s house while he is in out of the room she sees some papers in his night stand. Instead of asking him what it means she runs out. He chases after her. She locks her car door doesn’t want to talk to him. He finally gets her to put the window down says he roll tell her the whole story if she comes back in. After he tells her she sees there is a reason her supposed friend Charolette has said such bad things . Asher tells his brother he and June have talked it all out. June makes a double date for her Asher and charlotte and her husband. She wants Charolette to know she knows the truth. Damian told her the whole story. June ,Charolette and Grant get to the restaurant before Asher Char try’s to upset June by saying maybe he isn’t going to show just as he comes to the table. He says of course he’d be here. While they have dinner Asher noticed how Grant is eyeing another woman that’s at the bar. He is cheating in his wife in front of her. When Grant is coming out if the bathroom Asher calls him out in it snd makes him tell Charolette what he’s been doing. Next day June goes out for her run and feels danger. She notices a guy and before he can catch up with her she jumps into the bush’s. Getting cut by thorns but it keeps her safe she calls Asher to come save her. Asher has to call out to her when he gets there to find her. They rush to the car afraid her might still be around. She is bleeding from the bush’s he calls his brother about what happened. As he hangs up his door bell rings it’s his brother Maverick and Leila and her daughter. They Sue fine and in the news there is a story about a murder that happened at the clinic Asher works at. My favourite of the series so far. At the beginning I was annoyed and thinking that Asher was really patient with June and her many accusations. However, after that the story went really quickly. It’s going to be interesting to see who is after them and why. Best of all it was awesome to see Maverick, Leila and Cece again from the Hastings books, I think that was the name anyway. Two more books to go. I’m expecting the last one to be a wild ride.

June and Asher are working through June's trust issues with Asher. Asher's past keeps showing up and that isn't helping things. Neither still know who is trying to harm them. With June finally starting to trust Asher more, the person that is after Asher takes a innocent life.
Warning ends in a cliffhanger.

I can’t read fast enough to find out what will happen next!!! I do wish June wouldn’t jump directly to the worst case scenario every time she thinks she knows what is going on with Asher. I love that Maverick and Leila are back. ❤️
I can’t wait to see how this all comes together.

More drama ensues with these 2. June and her friend double date but nothing is what is seems. Asher gets an unexpected visit and they hear news about something interesting that develops at his job/work.
