It’s all fun and games until somebody loses an angel.
Dean Robinson, Seventh Deacon of the Seventh line, found God. Literally. He was sitting in the basement reading a newspaper. It was awkward.
With a little help from the Big Guy, Dean and his wise cracking crew of supernatural sidekicks managed to snuff out Lucifer’s misguided angel mutiny before it unleashed a giant sized can of whoop ass on mankind. Cool.
Then God decided to deport all the angels to Earth. Not cool.
With the world on the cusp of an angel incursion, Dean, Doc Kelly, and the crew must race through time and space to find the only thing that can save the planet from literally falling apart at the seams.
Oh, that’s right. The planet is literally falling apart at the seams.
Total bummer.
Gilmore’s fourth book in the Heaven’s Dark Soldiers series brilliantly sets up the second trilogy with a delightfully fantastical storyline spanning all manner of interdimensional mischief and mayhem. With laugh out loud dialogue, unrelenting action, and an ever evolving cast of unnatural characters, DAWN OF THE AFTER DAYS will keep you knocking back pages as you flip beer. Wait, what?
So, Ethan ( also known as God) washes his hands with everything, throws everyone under the bus then goes home. What a mess he left! The Eden Accord…what a joke that turns out to be. But to save the earth from coming apart at the seams they must work together. NOT! One epic quest later, it appears help has arrived in the form of the Original Builders. And as Dean finds out, Ethan isn’t real thrilled with their answer. With good reason. Seems like he had driven them off when they decided to enslave the human race. Meanwhile the Archangel Uriel has slipped away, successfully enclosing the Great Pyramid in a force field…you know, him wanting that power source for himself to rule over them all. Follow along to see how that goes. And for what is yet to come!
So the archangels get wiped out, the usa is being ripped apart and Dean is trying his best to resolves the problems with the help of his friends, although Ethan is not impressed and despite his powers unwilling to help. They solve one problem and create a whole new one. Life is nothing if not busy, even undead life.
still loving these books. they are a blast, can I say that or is that from the past. anyways yeah I can not get enough. my TBR is just sitting there being ignored now. Maybe I wouldn't love them as much without the Awesome narrator. He just plays every line so well. so glad I got both book and audio. I love laughing with every character.
Another A+ adventure with Dean Robinson and his superhuman team of bad-*ss peeps! Again, I’m sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense and laughing out loud for the entirety of the book! A great ending that leaves me wanting more, more, more!
Gilmore hits it out of the park again with the newest entry in the Dean Robinson series. Plenty of action, hijinks, and laughs. Owen's 4th wall breaks are hilarious as always
