I received an ARC copy of Layla Delaney’s story “Worst Laid Plans,” which is part of this anthology. This story had me swooning over the amazing man, Connor, and wishing I was Alexis! This saccharine sweet story will have you melting as you follow along on the happy couples misadventures during their first married Valentines Day.
A short story in the Mrs. Right Anthology, LoLo Paige’s Alaska Valentine is a rather typical romance story. Unlike the author’s award winning Blazing Hearts Wildfire series, this tale is missing the gritty adventure element.
It’s written well enough, though the storyline is rather predictable and flat. The characters are basically a typical young couple getting to know each other, the husband’s boyhood bar hopping friends, and the husband’s cousin and rival who may be the best of the lot.
Overall it’s basic romance fluff for a Valentine’s Day anthology. The setting in Winter Anchorage is the saving grace.
Worst Laid Plans by Layla Delaney 4 stars This is a quick, short, fun read. Alexis and Connor have quite the adventure in this story. It’s fun to see a couple in their HEA, and this is a glimpse into theirs. I found this story sweet and endearing and thoroughly enjoyable.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There’s a lot of wonderful authors in this anthology. Her Midnight Valentine from Sharon Wray. Clara is back in a Valentine’s Day story. Kingsmill is a quirky little town, but everyone comes together to help each other out. It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day story. I enjoyed it very much.
Whatever can go wrong, will. A hilarious read that will keep you laughing the whole time. A good sense of humor and a whole lot of love, keeps things bright and cheery.
I found this book to be a wonderful, heart-warming story of liove, family & second chances. The setting and characters engaged me from the start as the whole town appears to come together to help in making a special valentines surprise become a reality for the hero and heroine.
