Taking a work call for my best friend in my undies? Check.
Filling in for her after an emergency and getting mistaken for her? Check.
Royally messing it all up until the hot duke-in-waiting I hate but can’t keep my hands off steps in to save me? Uh, check…

Yes, yes, that all sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Until you consider I now have to plan and execute an 80th birthday party for The Dowager Duchess of Devon, and I can’t organise my hairbrushes. The current duchess is the ultimate Type-A personality, determined to micromanage the entire thing.

I’m a type… XYZ...LMNOP… Maybe not even that.

When all my attempts go to hell in half a handbasket—I can’t even mess up properly—the only hope I have to pull this thing off is duke-in-waiting Hugo Edwards.

The dreamy, handsome, makes-my-heart-pitter-patter, arrogant tosspot Hugo Edwards.
He and his brother are the only people who know who I really am. The success of their grandmother’s party relies on us getting along long enough to make it happen—and me and Hugo keeping our hands off one another behind closed doors.

None of which is easy to achieve.

Right number, wrong girl was so much fun. Sophie is covering for her best friend even though she might not be up for the job. This is loosely linked to the Aristocrat series of girls. When a big birthday is coming up and Sophie is the party planner for The Dowager Duchess of Devon 80th she might need some help. The duke to be, Hugo Edwards is the one that might be able to assist. But what is it she needs help with?

I’m a fan of this author and this was an entertaining read. It’s available on KU.

I adore Emma Hart’s books. She hits the nail on the head when it comes to romantic comedy.

When I read this blurb, I IMMEDIATELY signed up to request an ARC. It’s her usual style but set in England… basically, the perfect Caitlin book.

I really enjoyed this story. It was amusing, with the enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes I love. The characters were fun, and I loved seeing the shenanigans unfurl. It was easy to read, and though the romance scenes were fade-to-black, there was still a lot of chemistry between Sophie and Hugo. I had a really hard time putting the book down.

I do wish there had been a little more character development for some, but it didn’t really impact my appreciation for the story. Hugo and his family were great, though I wish I knew what happened with his brother after the ending. Maybe he’ll get a book? But Sophie didn’t have a whole lot of backstory, so I didn’t really connect with her as much. Seeing her parents helped, but I still don’t know what her previous job or relationship history was, which plays into a character’s choices and behaviors.

Again, this didn’t affect the story as a whole. I hadn’t even thought about until after I finished. But a little more development, fleshing out Sophie and the side characters like Cait and Camilla, would’ve been good.

This book was really great, and I would definitely recommend it. I look forward to reading more by Hart!

Wore on my nerves more than a little

You know how it is when you fall in love with a rich, handsome Duke, who falls equally in love with you. But, his mother doesn’t really like you, so you do the natural, mature thing anybody would do. You run away, hide, refuse phone calls, texts, and knocks at the door as he repeatedly tries to explain.
Again and again and again.
I finished it, but I can’t say it didn’t just wear my nerves OUT.
Not a favorite for me.

4.5 star review Right Number Wrong Girl by Emma Hart

This is Sophie and Hugo’s story and was an entertaining read that ticked a number of boxes for me.

Sophie finds herself in a situation when she steps in and pretends to be her roommate, an up and coming party planner. Tasked with assisting Hugo plan his grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Devon’s 80th birthday she quickly finds herself out of her comfort zone.

It all sounded simply enough, but complications quickly arise as they stumbled through with the plans. Miss communication and circumstances has some entertaining conversations quickly had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions. The secondary characters are quirky and unique and really added to my enjoyment of the story. I really loved Hugo’s family, they cracked me up.

A fun story that left me with a smile on my face.

Sophie knows how gorgeous, flirty men like the one trying to pick her up are like, so shooting him down unceremoniously is about all she's got for him. That's he's taken aback by the rejection is putting it mildly, and just the beginning of the many humorous things to come. Sophie's come to this part of England to plan the birthday party for a Duchess, and she just knows it's going to go, well, badly, considering she's not an actual event planner, and she's more than a little intimidated to be in the presence of nobility. Finding out the grandson of the lady of honor is the man she completely dissed earlier is only going to add to the big mess she's finding herself in. Her friend Camilla owes her big time for helping her out with this big mess of miscommunications!

I adored this rom com! Sophie is the real standout here, but Hugo and the secondary cast are almost as adorable as Sophie. Though Sophie's a bit of a hot mess, she has a genuine and loving heart and the way she kept Hugo on his toes was the best part of their relationship. And then there's the lady of honor herself, Evelyn - feisty af, tell it like it is, and far too intuitive, I found myself pining for my own Grandma who was a lot like her. I can't remember the last time I was as entertained and in love with all the characters (minus one) of a rom com like I am with Right Number, Wrong Girl. I hope there's a lot more to come in this world, because it's fabulous!

Fun enemies-to-lovers read that will make you fall in love with an entire family

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
STEAM: 🔥.5

There is nothing like a great touching monologue that grabs at your heart. And when it takes hold, you know you have fallen under the book's spell.

Sophie has a problem. Newly unemployed, she is on her way to Devon to do her best friend and roommate Camilla a huge favor. Step in as the party planner for the Dowager Duchess of Devon until Camilla can sort out family issues in Norway and get back for the party. Camilla is very organized so that shouldn't be a problem...until the family misunderstood that Sophie is Camilla.

Now she needs to navigate through the party planning under a mistaken identity, which is fine -- just fine -- until she locks horns with the future Duke of Devon. Hugo cannot help but be drawn to this sassy event planner, and that creates an even more tangled web than Sophie has anticipated.

This book actually started really slow, but once Sophie and Hugo made contact, we were off to the races. Their adversarial tension was just sizzling. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter, and it helped that both parties were incredibly witty.

Hugo's family was just adorable, and it made me love this read even more. The magical speech, however, comes from the person you least expect, and I have to admit that it made me tear up.

For those looking for spice, this read was light, but it does not take away from the deep connection between Sophie and Hugo. I guarantee that you will fall in love with them and the rest of the Devon household just like I did.

Sophie Smith has been scrambling to find a new job ever since her former boss was arrested for embezzlement, leaving the company essentially bankrupt. It's been weeks since she was laid off and she still hasn't found anything new, but her best friend and roommate Camilla, a successful event planner, has been happy to cover the bills in the meantime. When Camilla gets stuck in Norway due to the combination of a family emergency and a late winter storm, she calls in the favor and begs Sophie to fill in for her on a job planning the Dowager Duchess of Devon's upcoming 80th birthday party. Sophie may be one of the least organized people in England, but she can't say no to her best friend, so she reluctantly agrees to help. A case of mistaken identity creates complications from the outset, but Sophie's doing her best, no matter what the Dowager Duchess's grandson Hugo, the Earl of Exmoor and heir to the current Duke of Devon, may think. She just has to hold on until Camilla gets there - and try not to fall in love with Hugo in the meantime...

Sophie and Hugo didn't exactly hit it off at first, but there was so much chemistry between them just waiting to ignite, and I loved their bickering and snarky banter. Once they warmed up to each other, they were super cute together, and it was easy for me to root for them to overcome the challenges that stood in the way of their relationship.

As I've stated in previous reviews, one of Hart's particular strengths is creating lovable, quirky secondary characters, and the ones in this book were no exception. For example, Hugo's grandmother Evelyn was a ton of fun. I really enjoyed her constant battles with his mother, the Duchess. I also loved Sophie's parents. I laughed so hard at the image of her mom threatening to murder someone with her slipper and then planning how to hide the body!

Overall, I adored this funny, sweet story and highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I can't wait to find out what Hart plans to write next.

Sophie is jobless at the moment so she feels like she is the perfect person to steep into the breech for her friend. It's only 3 days, right?

Hugo may be from the upper echelon of society ut he's still a man.

Sophie is full of good intentions, it's just that everything she touches seems to turn to chaos. Hugo could be a godsend for her because his main family commitment seems to be "family fixer".

Plenty of quirky characters, snort-laugh moments and yummy smexy goodness involving Sophie and Hugo.

Once again Emma Hart has delivered us a story full of funny banter, exceptional side characters that helped our MCs find their place in the world.

Both Hugo and Sophie were very likeable characters. She was sassy, funny and smart, and was not easy charmed. Hugo knew she was special the minute he laid his eyes on her. He was trying so hard to pleas everyone that almost cost him his HEA with her.

If you're looking an escape from the real world - this is the book for you as it will leave you wanting to find a Duke of your own.

This was a fun and easy going read. A really awkward situation that Sophie found herself in yet she managed to make the best of, with all the best intentions at heart. I loved her interactions with Grandma, they had me cracking up. Most of the characters were quite good with the exception of one or two. I enjoyed this breezy read and the outcomes of the story. Would recommend.

No matter how many books Emma Hart writes, I will always end up loving and laughing at pretty much every book as she knows how to keep her readers hooked and this time was no different. It’s clear how much talent Emma has because she always manages to up the bar with each book that she creates, and if anything, I think she’s just going to keep on growing and growing as well as giving us these amazing stories. I enjoyed every aspect and if anything, I did feel so much for Sophie as she was put into the most awkward situation and no matter what she did everything she could to try and rectify things, but when having no such luck she does her best to work with what she can.
The title of this book is exactly what happens in this book, and I think that Emma chose the perfect title as everything fits in so well together.
I loved all the characters, but then again that’s nothing new because Emma always makes sure that her characters are pretty incredible and there’s always at least one wacky relative and this time I thought Evelyn was pretty awesome, she just didn’t care about anything and was always speaking her mind, but I guess when you’re in your eighty’s it’s not like you have to be careful of what you say and Evelyn pretty much proved that. Hugo was an interesting one, I get that he had a lot on his plate in terms of making sure he was kept up to date in terms of what happened in the household and that should anything happen to his father then he’ll be the one that is to take over everything as it’s only right due to him being the eldest son, but still when it came down to how he came across to Sophie, he could have been a hell of a lot more nicer because he didn’t realise how things were for people who weren’t exactly living in the royalty world, but still he’s so used to getting things he wants, the fact that Sophie actually puts him in his place makes it that much more amazing as honestly to me Sophie didn’t seem like the type of person to have it out and express how she’s feeling, but that’s only because I thought she was way too nice. In a way, she reminds me of me, as all I ever do is put everyone else before myself and if I’m set a task, I want to make sure that it’s done to the best of my ability.
Overall, I think that Emma has done an amazing job at creating this story, even though I did want to punch Nancy because she just wasn’t a nice person, but everyone else was pretty great and I’m actually looking forward to seeing what else she plans on doing with these characters as I’m hoping that she continues with them and their stories.
I can’t fault anything with how this was written and if anything, I just wanted to keep reading, but then again that’s normally how I feel when I read anything of Emma’s.
I’d honestly recommend giving this a read, as Emma’s books are just perfect for picking up your mood, but trust me when I say it’s not something you want to miss out on.

Sophie was recently let go from her job, mainly due to the fact that her boss may have ended up being caught out and wasn’t in a position to be in charge. Now with this one interview she’s got, she’s hoping that maybe she’ll get it and then be able to have some money coming in, yet when she gets there, it turns out to be a waste of time as she’s apparently overqualified for the position. Needing to figure something out soon, she does what she does best and starts browsing the internet for more interviews, but when her best friend’s phone rings and she ends up getting her a job that is out of this world but could also put her best friend on the map for her business, she has no idea how complicated her life is about to get.
When Camilla ends up breaking the news to her that she has no choice but to get Sophie to go and take on organising the party that Camilla was meant to do, Sophie can’t believe what she’s hearing. The last thing she wants to do is go ahead to where the upper-class people live and have to entertain their idea of a party, but with not wanting her best friend’s business to get a bad reputation she reluctantly agrees, along with making sure that they know she’ll be the one turning up instead of Camila. However, things end up turning sour fast when it becomes apparent that they never got the email from her best friend and they presume she is Camilla and what makes it worse is that Nancy is determined to make sure that Sophie screws up, but no one has a clue why or what’s going on. But with Nancy threatening Camilla’s business, Sophie has no choice but to do everything she can to make sure that she pulls everything off so that nothing is ruined.
With only Hugo and his brother Henry knowing the truth, will they be able to be 4 steps ahead of Nancy the whole time or will she end up taking Sophie down??? Will Camilla be back in time to help take over so that Sophie isn’t left in the deep end or are things set to get even more complicated for her???
It’s clear there’s chemistry between both Hugo and Sophie, but will Hugo be able to turn on the charm and actually get Sophie to see him in a different light???

Pretending to be a party planner for the aristocracy could lead to a happily ever after...

Sophie is no stranger to taking calls for her party planner best friend and roommate Camilla. But when Camilla is stuck overseas with her family for the lead-up to the 80th birthday party for the Dowager Duchess of Devon, Sophie is thrown in the deep end when Camilla asks her to take her place to finalise the party preparations before she returns for the actual event. However, a little miscommunication issue throws a spanner in the works, and soon Sophie isn’t just taking Camilla‘s place, she’s pretending to be her in order to organise the party. It’s not the most ideal situation, but with the help of heir of the Dukedom Hugo and his brother Henry, who know Sophie’s real identity, the trio work to ensure the party will be a success and Camilla’s reputation won’t be ruined. But there’s someone on staff who doesn’t want this party to be a success, and while Sophie’s running around like a headless chicken trying to keep everything on track, sparks are flying with Hugo that could threaten to derail the whole thing anyway.

Once again, Emma has knocked it out of the park with another romp with the British aristocracy – good thing there are lots of Dukedoms she can continue writing about! I don’t know what it is about upper class society, but they make for an interesting read, with a nice healthy serving of swooniness. Plus, I cannot get enough of escaping to the English countryside!

Sophie and Hugo’s relationship was fun to watch develop, going from being at loggerheads with one another to giving into their sexual tension and chemistry – not quiet enemies to lovers, but not exactly a smooth road to a relationship. I also really appreciated that Emma drew out the conflict and breakdown of their relationship before they ultimately realised they worked well together and reunited – sometimes this conflict is resolved in like a chapter, so it was nice to have it span a few chapters and almost feel like there was a good chance they wouldn’t get back together before the end of the book.

As always, I think my favourite character was our kooky grandmother Evelyn, the Dowager Duchess with a wicked sense of humour, no care for social boundaries, who just loves a good bit of cake and tea. Emma truly knows how to write hilarious grandmother figures who you just wish were you own grandmother, even if she would drive you a little bit batty with all her antics. I think I say this every single time, but Evelyn might just be my favourite grandmother so far. But watch me say that again in Big Duke Energy....

Set in the same world and timeline of The Aristocrat Diaries, I quite liked the small references to our three previous leading ladies and their partners. And while we didn’t actually get to see them in person, it was nice to get a small update on their lives from a distance. And while Emma has said that Henry won’t be getting a book of his own, I lowkey kind of wish that he was, just because I’d love to spend more time in this Dukedom. Although, if I’m wishlisting characters I really want Emma to write about, I wouldn’t mind seeing Hugo’s bestie Caitlyn find the girl of her dreams...

Romance fans with a soft spot for swoony and slightly moody dukes will love getting to know Hugo and Sophie, and get sucked into British Upper Class society.

I'll start by saying that if you're an Emma Hart fan, you'll probably like this book. If you're a superfan, you'll love it. It's full of the quirky characters, the how-did-they-get-themselves-into-that? LOL situations, and all the fun banter that her books usually have. Sophie and Hugo end up with a really sweet relationship in the end, and if you've been reading and enjoying the Aristocrat Diaries books, this is set in that universe and those characters are hovering outside on the edges.

All good things.

Ultimately, I liked the romance here--as I said above, it is very sweet. I liked Sophie and Hugo as characters, and OMG I loved his Grandma, AKA the dowager duchess, AKA Evelyn. I'm absolutely going to be keeping a very keen eye out for the next book (which the note at the end says will be The Art of Pretending though it's not up on GR yet). But I wasn't 100% behind some of the plot here, though obviously plenty of people are fine with it all, so take what follows with a grain of salt.

The whole "mistaken identity" bit was cute, but I don't think it really needed to continue for as long as it did. I get why Sophie didn't immediately correct the duchess--yes, she absolutely did keep cutting her off and then she left abruptly and was gone for days, but especially since Nancy, Hugo, and Henry all knew, she should have come clean sooner. Yes, Nancy told her not to, but c'mon. Sophie knew it was wrong, and continuing on with that deception was 100% her choice. She was uncomfortable with Nancy from the get-go, so why was she listening to her bad idea in the first place? In the end, everything turned out for the best and of course I wanted them together, but I can't help but feel like Sophie used her own bad decisions to turn herself into more of a victim than she actually was, and then used that as an excuse to do a little more running away from her life than anyone bothered to hold her to account for.

So yes, this was a cute and fun read. Was it my favorite? No. Am I sorry I read it? Also no. Will it stop me from reading more? Definitely not. If you're a fan of the author you should absolutely give it a read, perhaps with a cup of tea at your side. If you're a KU reader, you could definitely do worse than adding it to your TBR.

What an adorably funny rom-com! I laughed incessantly at the dry wit and sassy comebacks the incredibly stubborn, arrogant, and forthright characters dished out. When an out-of-work and unorganized young woman agrees to organize a high-end birthday party in her roommate's absence, her patience is challenged, her identity is mistaken, and her heart is captured.

Chaos is Sophie Smith's middle name and she's found herself in the thick of it with the aristocracy. By no fault of her own, she is placed in an unfortunate situation of impersonating a party planner with no experience whatsoever. After finding out she unknowingly shot down the future Duke of Devon, she's even more intimidated by her project which only gets worse. The man is smarmy and arrogant and she is unfortunately attracted to him, but his mother the Duchess is not her biggest fan and she must step lightly. It's a recipe for disaster.

Hugo Edwards is the duke-in-waiting and he's tired of his mother interfering in his love life. He will choose his own mate and unfortunately, it happens to be the charming and feisty little number who is pulling off the party of the century. His hilarious grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Devon, is opposed to her nightmare-in-law's birthday celebration and gives the party planner a run for her money. It's only right he try to help her out by running interference.

Hugo and Sophie make such a great pair with their fun banter and hilarious teasing. Hugo's whole family is a great addition to the story as they are beguiled by Sophie's honesty and forthrightness working her butt off to make the event go off without a hitch despite being sabotaged by a bitchy employee. There are a few who know Sophie's secret and help her in any way they can, but it's a matter of time when all hell breaks loose and the formidable Duchess of Devon finds out her pretense. There is a heck of a confrontation with Hugo's unlikable mother when Sophie's lies are revealed and Hugh has to move heaven and earth to get Sophie back, but with some heartfelt apologies and confessions of love, Sophie agrees her Duke is worth a happily ever after.

If you love delightful rom-coms with charismatic characters located in the beautiful English countryside, give this book a try.

Thank you to Ms. Hart for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This book is laugh out loud funny! Emma Hart has this wonderful aristocratic series and this one is a great addition to it.

Sophie is an unemployed, disorganized woman and roommate to Camilla. Camilla runs her own party planning company which is on the rise. One day, Sophie answers Camilla's party planning phone and ends up talking to "Fancy Nancy". Nancy turns out to be the assistant to the current Duchess of Devon. The Duchess is planning an 80th birthday party for her ornery mother-in-law, the Dowager Duchess of Devon.
Camilla begins the planning and then leaves to go on vacation with the plan to return a few days before she needs to leave to meet with the Duchess and finalize plans. Unfortunately, a storm prevents Camilla from returning on time and she begs Sophie to take her place for a few days.
Sophie, against her better judgement, heads to Devon to handle things for a few days. She arrives early and is exploring the town when she stops in a pub. She meets this gentleman and has a few choice words for him and totally shuts him down and puts him in his place before she leaves.
The next day, she heads to meet with the Duchess and who should be there, but the man. It turns out his name is Hugo and he's the duke-in-waiting and his mom is the Duchess that Sophie is meeting with.
If you think things couldn't get worse, Camilla's note telling the Duchess that she can't be there never made it and everyone thinks that Sophie is actually Camilla. Well everyone except for Nancy, who insists that Sophie pretends to be Camilla until Camilla can arrive.
If this isn't a recipe for disaster I don't know what is. Oh, Camilla keeps having family issues and has to keep postponing her arrival and the charade continues even longer.
Ah, but the Dowager Duchess is hysterical and loves to pick fights with the Duchess just because it's fun. Nancy is doing things to sabotage the party. The Duchess is making demands and doesn't listen to anyone else. Hugo is definitely smitten with Sophie and trying to help her. Sophie is equally smitten with Hugo but feels overwhelmed.
The hijinx that happen in planning this party will keep you laughing! A wonderful addition to this equally fabulous series!

Sophie is the absolute last person that anyone should leave in charge of planning anything and most especially planning a royal birthday party, but when her best friend gets stuck in Norway Sophie has no choice but to buck up and stand on for Camilla. Too bad everyone in Devon seems to be under the impression that Sophie is in fact Camilla, well everyone aside form the charming Duke to be Hugo, who Soph shot down at the pub… well one thing is sure is that things are about to get interesting in the English countryside.

..

LOVED!! Emma has once again delivered a hilarious romcom, Right Number, Wrong Girl was hoot to read from start to end. I just loved following Sophie as she tried to navigate her way through planning a royal birthday party with one uncooperative birthday girl, one push Duchess and one assistant desperately trying to sabotage everything. Oh and the exceptionally sexy Hugo making bedroom eyes at her all the time.

..

Sophie was such an amazing character, I loved that she was such a good friend and went through with planning the wacky party even though she was clearly out of her comfort zone. I just loved that as the book progressed we got to see her coming into her own and really finding her feet in all the planning. I will say that Camilla should have done more to let the royals know that she wouldn’t be coming, but nevertheless this only added to the story.

..

I absolutely loved Hugo, right from being shot down at the pub to holding Sophie’s secret right until the end. I will say that I do wish he had defended her a bit more but that wasn’t major. I loved the banter and playfulness that this couple shared throughout the book.

..

The secondary characters in the book were top notch, I loved that everyone welcomed Sophie into their world so easily. But it was Evelyn that really stole the show for me, I loved this sassy old lady with her love for a proper cup of tea (I can so relate to her) and that this helped bond her and Soph.

..

The Aristocrat Diaries have been one of my favourite series to read by Hart and I can not wait to see who she has her sights on for next! Right Number, Wrong Girl is definitely a book to read, this hilariously cute romcom checks all the boxes for me!

I have been loving the last series by Hart that was a little less rom-com, or at least it was more British than American. And this one takes place in England too, with even some of the characters mentioned from the series I read recently. And as I finished this one up, I can say it is probably one of my favorite of the ones I’ve read in the past year or so. I LOVED it!

We were back to the rom-com that won me over to this author’s books, with maybe still a little less bedroom times than others in the past, but it was all snarky banter that I love and the angsty feelings of the two main characters that made this book so good. More than that, the cast of characters were all so perfect for the story, and of course we got the hilarious grandmother that shows up in in Hart’s books.

I sped right through the story even as long as it is because it just flowed as a good story should. I had planned to stay up reading it the day I started because it was so good, but alas I was tired and had to put it down to sleep before work the next day. Then I took a few minutes in my office to sneak read and realized if I’d just read one more chapter before going to bed, I wouldn’t have gone to bed that night because the big drama was about to hit. And once I read that at work, I had to keep sneaking in a chapter or two when I could even before my lunch break because I had to know how it would all resolve itself.

While I was definitely thinking that Sophie was being just a bit more stubborn than necessary at the end, I also can understand how she felt. Between people being hateful to her, others not standing up for her like they should have, and feeling guilty for lying to her friend, even though her friend should totally not have dropped all that on her, it is only fair that she needed her time. But I adored Hugo, and their meet-cute, and how he was all in when he finally realized that is what she needed.

Definitely going to go down as one of my favorite Emma Hart books!

Emma Hart takes readers back to the English countryside for a visit with the aristocracy with her newest release, Right Number, Wrong Girl.

Sophie was not a party planner. Actually, she couldn’t organize her own sock drawer, but when her best friend is stuck out of town, she reluctantly agrees to fill in for a few days helping to plan the birthday party for the Dowager Duchess of Devon. And, from there, she finds herself in a hilarious plot consisting of mistaken identity, conniving assistants, overbearing aristocrats and a hot Duke she doesn’t even like . . .or does she?

Hugo Edwards is tired of his matchmaking mother. He’s only 30, even if he is the heir to the Dukedom. He’s also completely intrigued with Sophie . . . especially after she turned him down the first time they met. Now, as he finds himself pulled into her plot of mistaken identity, he also finds himself falling for her despite her contrary ways and her lack of party planning and organizational skills.

Of course, dating the hired help would be a very bad idea . . . especially since most of the household thinks she is someone else . . .

I adored everything about Right Number, Wrong Girl. Sophie is a sassy and feisty woman with a real heart of gold. She is willing to put herself in the craziest of situations just to help out her best friend. I adored her relationship with The Dowager Duchess (who is a real hoot!) and loved that she never quit giving Hugo sass and kept him on his toes right. Hugo was also an unexpected delight. His willingness to help Sophie out and keep her secret showed what a good guy he was even if he seems somewhat grumpy at times. Their banter really was what brought them together! And, when he finally has to pull his household in order, it makes for a glorious scene! He may not have realized he was falling, but once he did, he wore his heart on his sleeve!

Right Number, Wrong Girl was as hilarious as it was heartfelt and I adored every page! 5 stars!

I have been a fan of Emma Hart's books for a few years and Right Number, Wrong Girl is my current favorite by her. It was a great romantic comedy, the characters were so memorable, particularly grandma Evelyn. I mean what's better than a no nonsense, snarky, octogenarian?
Since Sophie was laid off from her job, she has been adrift. She has been relying too heavily on her best friend and roommate, Camilla, allowing her to pick up on her side of the rent. So Sophie does what she can to help Camilla out, particularly by answering the apartment's landline for Camilla's party planning business. Sophie didn't expect for her answering the phone for Camilla and taking a message from the Duchess of Devon to eventually lead to Sophie impersonating Camilla to plan this party... While Sophie did convince Camilla to agree to plan the 80th birthday party for the Dowager Duchess of Devon on behalf of the currently Duchess neither of them anticipated Camilla to get stranded in Norway due to a snowstorm. To be a good friend she agrees to go to Devon to be her person on the ground to get everything sorted until Camilla can arrive... But the Duchess doesn't receive Camilla's email explaining the situation and who Sophie is, so Sophie accidentally becomes Camilla... What could go wrong with one little white lie to help a friend?
When the next Duke, Hugo agreed to help the party planner get everything sorted for his grandmother's party he didn't expect for Camilla to be the girl he hit on at the pub, and put him in his place with some sharp words, the night before, Sophie. After receiving the explanation of the lie he reluctantly agrees to keep the secret from his mother. As they are forced to work together they continuously butt heads planning the party, they start to realize someone might be sabotaging her efforts... But soon Sophie and Hugo's bickering changes to something else, but can a relationship be built upon a lie?

Another great read from Emma, based loosely on her Aristocrat Diaries series..... if our looking for a fab rom com full of banter and wit and a hot British Duke, you won't go far wrong with this one!

Sophie ends up helping out her best friend who is the party planner for Dowager Duchess of Devon’s 80th birthday. Sophie is out of a job at the minute, but party planning is not her forte, her planning is pants at the best of times, but she feels a little pressured to help out and finds herself in the midst of the British countryside in a manor house that looks like something out of Downton Abbey, filled with aristocracy, not to mention a hot Duke who immediate rubs her up the wrong way, ending up pretending to be someone she's not!!! Talk about being out of her comfort zone!

What seemed to be a simple plan turns into anything but with miscommunications and complications arising, with some knowing her true identity and helping through.

Hugo is the grandson of the Duchess the party is being thrown for and is the heir to the Dukedom. His mother is forever trying to plan his life and marry him off, but he is determined to try and find someone he likes himself. When Sophie appears at his local pub, he is immediately attracted to her but manages to come out with a cheese chat up line and she immediately shoots him down and walks away. Little do they both know how close they will be working together in the coming few days to get this party sorted, and how difficult it will be to stay away from one another.

A fab read with some brilliant side characters that all add up to make an amusing and entertaining read that left me with a smile on my face. I loved Hugo and his family, but I really felt for Sophie and the predicament she was in, and how her own family was there in time of need. An enemies to lovers, slow burn read with lots of witty sassy banter and a host of unusual and quirky characters.

This has got to be my favourite book from Emma Hart. In Right Number Wrong Girl we get a fun, slow burn, witty romcom with a couple who are at complete opposites. Hugo Edwards, heir to the Dukedom of Devon meets ordinary Sophie Smith when he clumsily tries to pick her up in his local pub and is quickly shot down much to the amusement of the barmaid. Sophie has arrived at his family seat to help plan his grandmother’s eightieth birthday but a storm over Norway and a breakdown in communications all conspire against Sophie and she ends up pretending to be someone she’s not.

Emma Hart as a knack of creating characters that you would want to be friends with. Hugo and his family despite their titles and privileged background are down to earth with no airs and graces with the exception of his mother. His grandmother stole the show for me and is the perfect example of growing old disgracefully. Some of the things she came out with had me snorting back the laughter. There is a strong cast of secondary characters including Sophie’s parents who I loved if only for their willingness to grab a shovel and bury anyone who had upset their daughter. I would’ve loved a scene where her mum was introduced to Hugo’s grandmother. Now that would be a match made in hell. If I’m being honest I was slightly disappointed at the lack of psychotic farmyard birds in this book which I’ve come to expect from Emma Hart. I know Sophie’s mum had some chickens but they seemed reasonably tame.

Despite the insistence that Sophie is unorganized, and honestly a bit of a klutz, I had full faith she would accomplish everything she needed to. She is such a well-written, determined, confident character, thinking primarily of her friend's business and doing the best she can despite the difficult situation she finds herself in through no fault of her own. It's no wonder Hugo is so willing to help with this party - Sophie is magnetic. I enjoyed reading everyone else discover this about her, and the small but rapidly expanding community she finds while working for the Devons. While she is one of the unluckiest main characters I've encountered in a romance, she has the determination to power through and the support of so many people around her. Not only is Sophie well-written, but the Dowager Duchess Evelyn as well as the man of the hour, Hugo, are both wonderful characters. Their familial interactions gave me a lot of joy and anytime the Dowager Duchess spoke to Sophie I couldn't help but smile.

The characters were my favorite part of this book, but they are not the only good element. Sophie and Hugo fall quite naturally together, from their unexpected meeting to Hugo's casual flirting and finally Sophie's realization that they may be on the same page after all. The story focuses a lot on Sophie and moves from her being considered unorganized to showing that she is fully capable of anything she puts her mind to, which I really liked. Strong female characters for the win!

Break out your tissues readers!! This one is a tear jerker.

Sophie is a bit down on her luck. Chaos is her friend and she messes up everything. After a terrible job interview her best friend and flat mate begs her to fill in for her as a event planning coordinator for the Duchess of Devon. After much pleading and begging Sophie caves in. She knows this will be a disaster, but it is only for three days.

Well three days turn into many and Sophie finds herself in a right pickle. The Duchess doesn't know the real her and she is in over her head. When things start changing without her notice, she realizes she has an enemy at foot. And to top it all off...she has to work with the handsome and infuriating Lord Hugo.

Will Sophie make it out of this situation with her heart and soul in tact?

Wow! I believe this is one of the best rom-coms I have read recently. It has so much sass and quirky banter, it will have you falling over laughing. But don't let the laughter fool you as there is much deception a foot and you will definitely get mad and have some big "oh know moments." Least not forget the crocodile tears you will be sprouting. I know I didn't when I went through two boxes of tissues.

The characters in this book are quite lovely and some are not so lovely. Evelyn, the grandmother, is a hoot. She will have you in stitches as she has no filter on her. And she is supposed to be a lady. Ha!! I thoroughly enjoyed every page turning moment of this story. I truly hope that is not the end of these characters.

Right Number, Wrong Girl by Emma Hart is a joyful and hilarious and charming and sexy and witty and endearing read! Sophie and Hugo are EVERYTHING.

Sophie is witty, sweet, endearing, caring, a bit of a hot mess, and I love her all the more for it. She is looking for where she belongs, tries to constantly do the right thing if even for the wrong reasons sometimes, and is absolutely someone I'd want in my corner.

Hugo is a charmer, is a bit sassy, is layered, and wants to make choices for himself, and stand for and fight for what he truly wants in life.

Secondary characters are sheer GOLD in this book! Meddling family, behind the scenes drama, and friendship in its purest form. All making for such good story! And, throw in an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey, some home truths about basic common courtesy and the power of being kind, along with a whole lot of attitude, and you have a recipe for a phenomenal story!

So, what are you waiting for? This book will leave you with a smile on your face, loving the characters, appreciating the grovel, feeling all of the feels, and thoroughly enjoying the ride!

P. S. Grandma is a BOSS! So funny and so wise!

P. P. S. It's true. The perfect cup of tea can cure almost any ailment.

P. P. P. S. Yes, it's absolutely a thing to brew a cuppa the correct amount of time.

This book was extremely entertaining! It isn’t listed as a romcom, but I definitely think this is.

Sophia was helping her best friend out by taking over one of her party planning jobs. What was only supposed to be a few days turned into a few weeks. At’s times I did few bad for Sophia. I felt like she was dealt a bad hand and was doing everything she could to make sure the party amazing. At every turn though, someone was either putting her down or setting her up for failures. I really enjoyed seeing Hugo back her up in every meeting (besides the last one 🤬), and helping her in general. He was a great supporter in a time of chaos.

Hands down, Evelyn was my favorite character though. I absolutely loved her spirit, and everything she did to rile everyone up. She had me giggling throughout most of the books.

I know not all books show sex scenes, but I was a little let down by how the first time happened. After all that build up of tension we didn’t get anything besides the morning after. I was actually confused first because i thought I skipped a chapter. I wish I got to at least see him coming over or a kiss or something. After that it was harder to connect to the characters. It was lacking passion for me. Which is why I gave it 4 stars.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

So not only am I halfway through my 2022 reading goal but this brilliant read was my halfway mark ❣️📕 Best read for 2022 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sophie is down on her luck at the moment thanks to her boss and company embezzlement but she’ll get there and in the meantime she’s staying with her friend Camilla that owns and runs a party planning company and she’s well respected in her field and has a good reputation …

Camilla is in Norway visiting her family when a storm hits and the tragedy and she relies on Sophie to run the show and that’s when the fun and games start 😂

Evelyn , that’s our birthday girl aka The Dowager Duchess of Devon is hilarious , a “potty mouth mouth” soon to be 80 year old who loves her tea had me in stitches 😂 I almost lost focus on the developments between Hugo and Sophie because I was so focused on the grand old biddy ❣️

Sophie and Hugo got off to a bit rocky start but I believe in my heart that it was love at first sight I mean hello how can you not loose your heart to the man whose voice was deep and rich “ if melted butter on toast had a sound , it would be his voice“

I haven’t enjoyed a book like this in a long time , I laughed hard drank huge amounts of tea to honour Sophie and Evelyn and yes I even indulged in a few glasses of Sauvignon Blanc 😉

I’m going to be shouting about this from the rooftops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

***5 Stars***

Just from reading the synopsis, there was no doubt in my mind that this book was going to be a rollercoaster of a ride in more ways than one…and I was right. Between the eye rolling, snort laughing, the need to Gibbs smack the various characters for any number of things and even getting a bit teary eyed as well as wanting to give a standing ovation (or two)…I mean, this baby definitely kept me on my toes until the bitter end and has me crossing my toes that we get to visit with the crew again.

I loved Hugo and Sophie. Sophie is something of a hot mess, but she’s a hot mess with a really good heart. Hugo definitely has the patience of a saint and a whole lot of cheeky charisma. Their meet cute definitely set the tone to their relationship, but I loved how the more time they spent together, the more they found that while they may be opposites, they fit.

This book gave me a little bit of everything, but what it gave the most of ~ and what is my most favorite thing when it comes to reading ~ was a great cast of characters, even the ones I wasn’t all that thrilled with. They totally brought so much to this book, but my absolute fav was Evelyn. She freakin’ rocked and I’m hoping we get to spend more time with her in future books!

How have I gone this long without reading any of Emma Hart's books? While that is a rhetorical question, I really am kicking myself for missing out on her delightful romantic comedies, spot on sarcasm, and characters I want to be BFFs with. Right Number, Wrong Girl is one of my favorite books of 2022 and I can't wait to read more.

Mistaken identity with a side of enemies to lovers are just two reasons that I loved this book so much. The depth to the characters helped to create a story that kept me invested from page one. Sophie, in particular, is wonderful. Her journey throughout Right Number, Wrong Girl, is one anyone can relate to and made me laugh and shed some tears equally. As she gained confidence in herself, she stood taller, and finally discovered who and what she wanted in her life.

Sophie and Hugo are a lot of fun together. Their witty banter and smoldering chemistry was absolutely swoon-worthy. Hugo's grandmother made me laugh out loud fairly consistently and his siblings weren't too far behind. All of these people felt like family and that is something that keeps me coming back for more from an author.
