Rate this book
Early in life Zander Teager, CEO of Elixir learned that not every Rose is beautiful... then he meets the nerdy, shy Rosemary.

My mother Rose’s actions changed me forever.
I hated her name all my life- until I met Rosemary Marlin, the geek with photographic memory and a tech wiz in my company.
My first day at the research division in the small town of Cherrywood, I find her sleeping on the couch while the whole office is busy searching for her.
She befuddles me everyday with her precise breakfast habits, baggy flannel shirts, red glasses, canvas shoes, Wolverine wallpaper. Her list of quirks is endless.

I am told to stay away as she battles with extreme anxiety issues.
But things get out of hand at a company party when I declare her my girlfriend to a room full of people.
That night, I learn about her... her wounds, her scars.
I wish I could go back in time and fix things for both of us.

But she has trained herself to not trust anyone.
Can I make her believe that I’m going to stay when no one else ever did?

Who would have thought this is a debut!

Vikki Jay totally blew me away with her first-ever book. One that I did not expect but what a beautiful and emotional journey it was. To be honest, going in I did not know what to expect of Rose and Zander's story, of how it's going to go. But now that I think about it, it kind of gives me The Fine Print vibes. Though both of their characters provide so much more emotional depth to the story itself.

My heart fills with new, raw emotions. For the first time in my life, I feel safe. I know there’s no deceit or fraud in this girl’s emotions, and she truly loves me.

Both Rose and Zander are such characters that you just want to hold for as long as you can, to give them warmth and comfort after all that they've been through. Both have issues to overcome but they embark on a journey that could either bring those issues back up or work on them together. This is where you could feel a deeper emotional connection between them and made me fall in love with Zander over and over again. I loved watching them heal and fall in love together. It was very romantic and sweet.

It’s not a consolation, Zander; it is my greatest treasure.

Though I don't know why we're getting a second book as I think this one book is enough. But I guess that's why the ending was a little abrupt without epilogues. Also Kristy and Oscar's relationship came out of nowhere too. I really need a little more context to that. I'm looking forward to the second book already.

Universal

Zander is enamored by his employee, Rose. But, she's got a lot of anxieties that will make it impossible to get to know her. Then there's the fact that he's got his own set of baggage. Can two people with trauma in their pasts find love together in their present?

This is a sweet, slow burn story with two absolutely lovable characters. The way Zander set about gently wooing Rose, convincing her he wasn't going anywhere, was sticking around. The way they healed together, healed each other was really quite beautiful. I cannot believe this is a debut novel - it's so good! And now I'm definitely looking forward to the next Teager to find love.

I thought this was a good story and I enjoyed getting to meet all of the characters. Zander was so understanding to Rose and her quicks, and she his, which I thought was really fun to see. It made the connection between them stand out across every page and had me rooting for them to get their HEA.

But it also had me rooting for them a little too long. Honestly, the pacing of the story felt a little off since their relationship moved fast but there was a lot of background stories that were moving much slower. Especially when we got to about 50% and only just started getting some answers about Rose and Zanders pasts. Which I had already guessed what the big twist was going to be so by then I just wanted to see if I was right and see these characters end happily instead of having to get through the drawn out ending.

Overall, this was my first read from this author and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. It was a little too long for me but I still enjoyed it and I recommend giving it a try.

This was a DNF for me. The characters had no chemistry. The dialogue was weird to me, and the instalove just felt incredibly cheesy and unbelievable.

✨ARC REVIEW ✨

When i first read the blurb of this book. I instantly fell in love with it. I just knew it would be a great romance. So i was so excited to read this, that the second it dropped on my Kindle , i didn't hesitated before I dived into it.
And finished it within a day.

There are so many reasons why I love a book and why i read it , but the first and foremost is the characters, always the characters. As much as we try to separate fiction from reality , there is atleast ONE similarity between you and a character which is why you connect with them/ understand them or sometimes hate them enough to DNF the book.

The thing which first drew me into this book was the FMC , the heroine Rose. She has social anxiety , she gets panic attacks whenever she had to interact with strangers , she has to prepare herself to be mentally stable before presenting herself infront of bunch of people before a meeting. Due to which , she gets severe anxiety , which in turn holds her back to interacting with anyone aside from her best friend and her boss/friend , and therefore, she hides behind her laptop , because she is an intelligent geek who prefer playing with codes instead of partying outside in crowds.

And do you know WHY this drew me in? Because I'm the same. (Not the intelligent part lol , life would be much better if that was the case😅).
I have social anxiety and i get panic attacks so much so that when I read what she was going through and how she was handling it , i felt like I was reading about myself.

Now , comes the MMC , the hero Zander. Who became my yet another book boyfriend who falls into the category of 'nice guy'. The true gentleman. He understands Rose with such level of intensity and care that you'd run out of your house to search for a guy like him in real world. The level of care with which he handles Rose is just *chef's kisses*

Zander and Rose both have a past and tragic backstory for their childhood that many mysteries are yet to reveal and that is why their story is not yet complete. There will be a second book releasing in February but don't worry, this doesn't ends in a cliffhanger.

Love the way the author tackled such mental issues with a great level of understanding and truth. Looking forward to her future works! <3

Dnf. 200 pages in & I’m bored. They’ve got together, everything is brilliant, can we finish now?

Rose is a genius with a horrific childhood behind her. She likes things done in an exact manner, and can’t cope with change. When she meets Zander who owns the company she works at, he instantly feels a pull towards her, that he can’t explain. Zander had a traumatic childhood too, and as a result he can’t call her Rose. He calls her couchgirl (Really annoying.) or Marr which is her surname shortened. As they get to know each other, and he woos her, it’s boring. Yeah it’s sweet, but it drags on and on,

I just don’t understand why this book is so long. I’m up to page 200, and they’re together now, and in love. I can’t read another 300 pages! I suspect the rest of it is about her childhood, and the fact that her best friend and her mother, have identical eyes to Rose.

Rose sadly isn’t very well written. Rose needs gentle handling as she’s a genius, who seems to have autism characteristics, at times. I say at times as she has a rigid routine, with the same breakfast everyday, at the same time, but not lunch or dinner. Then the breakfast routine is thrown out the window! As they’re having sex. It just doesn’t make any sense. Then there’s the fact that she’s a genius, but has never questioned the identical eyes as her best friend and mother.

5 star review Beautiful Rose (Tortured Teager #1) by Vikki Jay

One of the things I enjoy the most about being a blogger is the opportunity to discover new authors. I believe that this is Vikki Jay’s debut novel and what a book it was.

Zander Teager, CEO of Elixir and Rosemary Marlin have both been through a lot. Two toartured souls who deserve to find happiness. They are total opposites and should not work and yet they do. I loved how Zander wanted to prove to Rose that he could be trusted and his care and protectiveness was heart warming.
I loved the quirkiness of Rose’s character and that Zander accepted her and had no intention in trying to change her. I also loved how protective her friends were of her after everything she has been through.

This was a slow burn romance that was well written, emotional and heart warming and ticked all the boxes for me. It is a story that will touch your soul and I am excited to see what Ms. Jay has in store for Zander and Rose when their story continues in February.

What a wonderful debut from Vikki Jay. Beautiful Rose had some complicated characters with brilliant layers. It is an emotional workplace romance concentrating on the feelings. It had an amazing intensity coupled with some warm emotions.

Rose is an exceptional computer technology specialist working for a top pharmaceutical company called Elixir Inc. She suffers from social anxiety and she has a very traumatic past. Her anxiety gets high as one of the company's CEO, Zander Teager is visiting Cherrywood office. Zander is instantly fascinated by her. He has a dark past too and he just wants to be a part of her life.
.
Vikki Jay took a chance by bringing some damaged characters on board in her first novel. It was refreshing and relaxing. Rose has so many shackles holding her but she has pushed through all her troubles to emerge as this shining star. I am so happy that the author didn't downplay her issues nor did she turn Rose suddenly all ok after meeting Zander. I loved the quirky, shy, vulnerable and yet inspiring personality of Rose. Trying to be her friend and then some more required a lot of patience and judgement free big heart. And Zander was just that. He has his own scars and he understands Rose at a deep level. He is handsome and charming and witty and just a gorgeous man inside out. It was a slow burn as the story needed one. It was sometimes really angsty and heartbreaking but overall it was sweetly emotional. The reason I didn't give it five star was because of the pacing. I feel the story could have been trimmed here and there and could accomodate the whole journey. I am not sure how I feel about it being a two part story. There was plenty scope to resolve the issues without stretching it to a second book.

Rose is an extremely shy and awkward young lady, and a genius computer programmer. Zander is the handsome CEO of the company who instantly finds himself drawn to her. The name Rose is triggering to Zander, and he comes up with several nicknames for Rose, as he can't bear to call her by her name. The two get into a relationship with a very slow burn, while Rose builds up her trust in Zander.

This book was touching and sweet, while also having amazing and spicy chemistry. Rose is a complex character, who I found myself really rooting for, as you know something terrible has happened in her past to make her the way she is now. Zander comes across as well put together, but his character is also multi-layered as he grows to trust Rose with some of the complications of his youth.

The book is to be part of a series, but did not leave off on any sort of cliffhanger, and came to a satisfying conclusion while leaving you wanting to know more about the characters.

I really enjoyed this book and am really looking forward to the next installment in the Teager series!

This one is VERY VERY HARD not to spoil too much but I promise you will love all the characters. Zane the youngest Teager has a stutter and, he is super confident and I really hope he gets a story🙏

Now back to the love birds that love the colour cherry "our colour". Rose and Zander have their own demons to fight. Rose it's her past and social anxiety but she has 2 trusted friends& couple Oscar & Rachel. They all work at Elixir Inc that's run by the Teager brothers. They all begin with 'Z' Zander, Zach & Zane and you will love them

Zander has a past and a name he can not say...no spoilers. He is a single bachelor but he doesn't play the field unlike Zach "womanizer"

Rose and Zander I love them so much especially, their passions for comics and the hottie Logan. Tiny spolier Rose & Zander never had a pet so Zander bought her a goldfish and she called him Logan🐠

Their love story is not only adorable but it's about having patiences & healing each others past pains. We see Rose's speech improve around Zander as their love grows which I love. And towards the end of the book when Zander finally says...no spoilers

"Life is going to change, and it's going to he fun with my couch girl."

Beautiful Rose de Vikki Jay

Argumento:

This is a brand-new author, and this is a debut book. It was well written, had amazing characters I fell for, and I cannot wait to see more stories in this series. It was absolutely awesome.

That said, it ends with a HEA ending and another book is supposed to come out in February, Loving Rose, In April a side character (Clementine) will get a story and then in summer we will get a story on Zach. I cannot wait to read more in this series. I am absolutely hooked on this series and the characters.

This series is about Zander Teager who own a pharmacy company along with his two other brothers, Zane and Zach. Zach is the playboy and Zane is the quieter brother who stutters. The boys had an awful early life until they were saved by a man, they call the Beast who became their guardian. In the story, they blame their bad early life on their mother, Rose. As such Zander hates the name Rose and anything that looks like a Rose. It is part of his nightmares and so when he visits a location at his company, he meets a beautiful employee with the name Rose, it takes him to a dark place.

In this story we meet Rose Marlin. She is a genius and especially with code. She also has social anxiety and prefers to work behind the scenes. So, when she is forced to present info to Zander its her worst nightmare.

As an orphan Rose met a music therapist and her daughter, Kristy. She became close to them and in this story her bestie is Kristy and also her roommate, plus they also work together at the company that Zander owns. The connection Kristy and Rose share, I hope will be explored in the second book.

Rose and Zander have a rare and amazing connection pretty much from first sight. I loved how Zander wanted to make her life easier and asked her best friend many times how to approach Rose so her anxiety was at a minimum.

This story was absolutely awesome. I could not put it down and I cannot wait for the conclusion to Zander and Rose's story. It did NOT end on a cliff hanger but more with a HEA end. Yet I have a million questions and am antsy for the conclusion and hopefully some answers in this story.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was utterly beautiful that contained all the emotions and made me fall in love with these characters. Zander and Rose both have demons in their past that have shaped them to who they are now and these demons still haunt them. Rose is this beautiful genius who works hard because her coding gives her comfort. She has few friends because she suffers from social anxiety which I get mine isn’t as bad as hers but it can be hard to do things others see as simple. She doesn’t see herself as having a future because who would want to spend their life having to endure her quirks and she feels as if she is alone except for her very close friends Kristy and Oscar. Zander past is horrific and briefly discussed, but it has left him and his brothers traumatized, yet they have made something of themselves. When Zander sees Rose for the first time he realizes how truly beautiful and special she is then he decides he will stop at nothing to make her his. He is truly a perfect person especially for Rose because even with his own issues he helps her in every aspect of her life and loves her through even the tough times. As their relationship progresses they both help each other to slowly heal but there are a few questions I’m hoping we get answered in the next book. This doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but a happy for now because their next book I feel we will be getting answers for both their pasts and I know we haven’t seen the last of Vanessa and her scheming ways. Also something is up with Sophia and we haven’t met Zander’s adoptive dad aka The Beast. I don’t want to spoil this epic ride for anyone so I’ll leave it at this and say just enjoy the journey of these amazing charactersThis This story was tragic yet beyond beautiful and i enjoyed every second of this journey and can’t wait to see more especially their ending and Zander’s brothers.

What an amazing romance. I believe this is Vikki Jay’s first contemporary romance and to be honest I was shocked she was a new author. I found Beautiful Rose to be refreshing and very well written. The author has taken everyday issues that many struggle with and gave us a very respectful and touching storyline that was heartwarming and so romantic. This reader can’t wait for more of Rose and Zander’s story, which luckily for us is coming soon.

Rose is a quirky, baggy clothes wearing tech wizard with a photographic memory who suffers from anxiety and trust issues stemming from her childhood traumas. She has a small circle of friends at work (2 people to be exact) that help her to function in public situations. But when the “Big Boss”, Zander Teager, is set to visit their location, Rose is tossed into a whirlwind of events that terrify her but also excite her in ways she never dreamed. As for Zander, he doesn’t know what to make of the beautiful woman who has turned his suit-wearing, to the point, protective lifestyle into a tizzy. A lifestyle he too has made for himself and his brothers as they overcame their tragic childhood memories and became the successful businessmen who own their own company known as Elixir.

The care and tenderness Zander takes with Rose will melt your heart. But can Rose and Zander find a way to be together and overcome their childhood issues that have taken deep roots in their souls or are they so lost in the past there can be no future?

Outstanding read. I highly recommend grabbing it up ASAP!!

This is a fab debut novel!

"Zander is knocking on the closed door of my heart, urging me to open them."

Rosemary Marlin and Zander Teager are both damaged souls. They have come a long way from their disturbing childhoods. Rose is a tech genius with singular quirks, an awkward disposition, and likes to remain out of the limelight. Zander is confident and kind, and has an excellent relationship with his brothers. Both struggle with close relationships and very few people are in their circles of trust.

"You make everything beautiful. You make this hell of a life worth living."

I loved how taken Zander was with Rose from the moment she fell into his arms. He was attracted, curious and thoughtful. I loved how much empathy and kindness he demonstrated, and his infinite patience with her. I loved Rose's innocence and wonder at Zander. I marvelled at the fact that she had so much courage in putting her fragile trust in him. It spoke volumes for Zander's character. These two people, who came with dark pasts, were made for each other. I adored their connection, their attraction, and the sweet tenderness that grew between them, as well as all their sizzling chemistry. Looking forward to reading more about them in the next book.

The first book written by Vikki Jay, and what a mesmerising read it has been. Tortured Teager promises to be one of the must-read new series of 2022, sit back and be prepared to be blown away by this new talented author.

Beautiful Rose was a compelling deeply moving read, and for an author's first book, I was blown away by the depth and emotion of Rose and Lander's story, I was also, pleasantly surprised that there is a 2nd book to come for this great couple, have a tissue ready as you will need it for both Rose and Lander, as their traumatic childhoods are slowly revealed. Lander is CEO, and along with his brother's owners of Elixir Inc, Rose is a top coded at one of their offices, suffering from anxiety issues, Rose prefers to work alone, and keeps most people at a distance. When Lander comes to Cherrywood for what should be a couple of days he is drawn to Rose from the start, it is as if there two souls at a deeper level know that they can each help the other. Rose cannot believe the ease she feels with Lander, but he is a handsome CEO and she prefers to be alone. But the draw to each other and the ease they feel together cannot be denied, nor the growing passion.

Sit back and enjoy an author I believe will become one of your favourites in 2022.

I’m not one who usually gives a 5 star rating to a debut author, but WOW, Vikki Jay wrote a phenomenal love story.

Beautiful Rose is the wonderfully written debut novel by Vikki Jay. At its heart is the love story between Rose and Zander. Both come from a very painful past which has shaped their adult lives. Full of anxiety, feelings of insecurity, the friendship of supporting characters, and a budding romance, Beautiful Rose encompasses a multitude of raw emotions mixed with the right amount of romantic chemistry.
Throughout the story Rose continues to work through her own insecurities. Change and fear of the unknown fuel her anxiety. As she continues to grow emotionally, she continues to listen and help Zander through his own painful past.
Zander’s love and understanding of Rose comes from a place of knowledge based on his own past. Even though he handles things different than she does, he will fight for her and for them as a couple.
Rose and Zander are very relatable characters and their story will leave you in awe of the resiliency of the human spirit and it’s path to forever happiness. I'm looking forward to reading more about Rose and Zander with the release of Loving Rose. I received an advance copy of Beautiful Rose in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 Stars for Beautiful Rose (Tortured Teager #1)
What a fantastic start to a writing career.
Vikki Jay’s debut novel certainly looks like she will have a hit series on her hands and very promising career as a writer. This is Zander Teager and Rosemary Marlin’s romance and if any couple deserves happiness these two tortured souls do so can Zander prove he is worthy of a chance.
Zander is CEO of Elixir and Rose is the nerdy, shy tech wizard that he found sleeping on a couch on his first day ar the research division of Elixir in the small town of Cherrywood. What follows is two people fighting their demons as they find comfort in each other. Zander needs to prove to Rose that he can be trusted and Rose needs to learn to trust and take a leap of faith but for someone who suffers from extreme anxiety issues that’s not going to be easy to do….
This slow burn romance touched me on so many levels, it’s beautifully written, it’s emotional and it’s a heartfelt journey that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. I’m excited to see where Vikki Jay takes us when she continues with Zander and Rose’s journey in the next instalment of this series, which I believe is due to be released in February. Wonderful debut novel.

This is Vikki’s first book and the first in her Tortured Teager Series. I fell in love with the Teager brothers, Zander, Zach, and Zane. I enjoyed the camaraderie and love they have for each other.
This book revolves around Zander and Rose. I really enjoy books with complex main characters - with pasts that haunt them and define who they are. Zander and Rose are damaged by their pasts, each finding their own ways to cope. Yet together, they bring out the best in each other. The book is written in dual POV which I personally really like – I enjoy getting a more in-depth view into each character’s thoughts, emotions, and motivations - but I would have liked to know more about their pasts, maybe interweaving that into the story so the reader could get more into their psyche. Although Zander and Rose get their HEA, their story is not over.
Vikki also included a great cast of secondary characters that really enhance the story and will hopefully be in future books. All in all, this was an enjoyable read. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderfully unexpected. Rose is a survivor and through that process has built many quirks and habits to cope with her anxiety. Having been abandoned as a child, she struggles with letting people in or trusting that people will stay in her life. Zander seems like the successful CEO on the surface but as we get to know him, we find a man who has survived and built a life for himself and his brother’s but remains afraid of love. Then one day, he meets this quirky and innocent woman that sparks his interest and captivates his spirit. For Rose, Zander causes all kinds of confusion while waking up feelings and emotions she never expected to experience. Can this unlikely duo find a path to love and happiness? I am loving spending time with Rose and Zander as they learn together that love is possible. I didn’t realize that their journey would continue but I’m excited to experience more of their journey. This book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Rose is a lead tech scientist at a new and upcoming pharmaceutical, she’s brilliant! She also has social anxiety and has worked very hard to get to this point in her life where she can manage her anxiety and enjoy her life. Her idea of enjoyment? WORK! Rose is a die hard workaholic, so much so that one day the company CEO finds her asleep in the utility room. Although he’s hotter than sin and women have deemed him as one of the most desirable bachelors, he’s got his eyes on the super smart, super anxious Rose. What they don’t know, is that Zander (the CEO) has a very dark past that only a gentle soul can bring light into. Will these two be able to overcome their past to get a HEA?

This book is so amazing! I didn’t wanted to end. Zander got me swooning with his alpha cinnamon roll ways! The way he’s all in with tenderness and patience to break Rose’s walls 😍 what a man! And Rose is so strong, finally seeing she can have love in her life! That she can let go of her past and her fears 😍

I cannot believe this is Vikki’s first published book. It is PERFECTION!!
I cried, swooned and laughed throughout the entire book! I can’t wait for the next book in the series! I’m in love!

Oh My Wow What a Debut Novel from Vikki Jay!

Beautiful Rose is an opposites attract / workplace romance story that completely stole my heart and undivided attention.
From the moment I started reading this story not only was I hooked to every word, but I completely fell in love with both Rose and Zander, two incredible characters who bare deep scars from their heart aching childhoods.
Zander, our hero, oh how I adored this man. He's a sexy and successful bachelor who is sweet, swoony, at times endearingly vulnerable and cough cough loves a little dirty talking.
Rose, our heroine, gosh my heart both adored and broke for her. She is a shy, sweet, and incredibly smart woman who suffers from social anxiety disorder.
A slightly awkward first encounter and an instantaneous connection between these two kicks off a slow-burning romance that will take you on an emotional journey filled with heart-ache, insecurities, vulnerabilities, friendships, romance, family, healing and love.
Oh how I loved and devoured this story and I can't wait for more!!! Bring on Book 2.
Congratulations Vikki Jay on an amazing debut novel!!

A Highly Recommended Read!!

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

I absolutely loved this novel! When I initially read the synopsis, I was very intrigued and decided to give this debut author a chance, and I am so glad I did!! For some reason, Rose and Zanders connection felt so real and raw and honest. I am now emotionally invested in these two and I need more asap.

Both of these characters are so amazing, but they have dark pasts. I definitely think that them both having issues in their parts helped them connect, but honestly, their connection right from the start was addictive and entrancing - and I mean for me as the reader! I couldn't get enough of them.

This book does not end on a cliffhanger, but there will be another book to continue Rose and Zander's story, which I cannot wait for! I know I've found another new favorite author, and you can bet I'm gong to snatch up the paperback of this book when it becomes available in January! I definitely recommend this book to everyone!
