A deeply emotional standalone romantic suspense duet by New York Times bestselling author Michelle Mankin

ADDY FOOTIT is different from most seventeen-year-olds. She doesn’t have the luxury of dreaming about her future. She must plan for it. Abandoned by her father and living with a drug addicted mother, her number one priority is taking care of her younger sister Rachel. It isn’t easy. Nothing in Southside Seattle is easy. It’s a struggle to survive. Music is Addy’s only escape from her bleak world. When she listens to it, she can pretend she is anywhere and believe anything is possible. Her handsome best friend BARRY EVANS understands her predicament. It’s not much different from his own. He is a great source of comfort and strength for her.

Addy has one indulgence. COLLIN MURPHY. Her number one crush is one of the most popular guys at Southside High. Collin can have any girl he wants, and he sets his sights on Addy when her younger sister joins his rock band. The gorgeous guitarist isn’t the only one who notices how pretty Addy is. Martin Skellin, the rich and
powerful owner of the club where Collin’s band ABCR performs, becomes obsessed with Addy.

One man wants to win her heart.
The other wants to rule her.

And another could be just who she needs, but she can’t cross that line. She can’t risk losing him.

Will the band ABCR become a success? Will Addy and her sister escape Southside? Will her plans secure her future or destroy it?

Getting it Wrong is book one in this standalone romantic suspense duet. You will want book two, Getting it Right, as soon as you finish book one. This book contains 56 angsty chapters. It’s a page-turning story that will make you want to throw your e-reader at times. Do not read if you want a boring book. You will cry. It’s one of the most emotional romances the author has written. You will be in a book hangover and desperate for book two at the end.

THIS IS THE MOST CONFUSING ROMANCE NOVEL I EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. IT HAS CHEATING!!!!!!!! LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FCK IS HAPPENING?!!!!! THIS IS WHY SOMETIMES I HAVE DOUBTS OF READING ROMANCE FROM TEENAGERS BECAUSE THEIR PERSONALTY IS SO FCKING CHILDISH. NOT ONLY CHILDISH, IS SO MOTHERFCKING STUPID AND ANNOYING TOO... SOOOO MANY UNNECESSARY DRAMA THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE. NOT EVEN FUN TOO.

LET ME TELL YOU WHY THIS BOOK IS CONFUSING AND EVEN GIVING ME A HEADACHE 🥵🥵

1. THE HEROINE HAVE A BEST FRIEND WHO IS A GUY THAT SEEMS LIKE REALLY INTO HER. INTO HER LIKE REALLY LOVES HER AND WANTS HER, JUDGING BY THE WAY HE TALKS AND HIS ACTIONS ON THE FIRST SCENE OF THEM TOGETHER IN THE BOOK. SO I WAS ASKING MYSELF, CAN THE HEROINE BE MORE STUPID NOT TO NOTICE THAT????!!!!!! 😒😒😒 Damn even me as a reader notice that. So at first i have this conclusion of this heroine right here, is a dumbass woman. Not smart enough. And well, it's true.

2. SINCE BEGINNING OF HIGH SCHOOL, THE HEROINE LIKES THIS COLLIN GUY FOR A LONG TIME. SHE HAVE THIS HUGE CRUSH ON HIM AND WHEN THEY TOUCHED THEIR HANDS FOR THE FIRST TIME, THEY FELT ELECTRICITY. SO I THOUGHT OH THIS GUY IS THE HERO AND HE IS GOOD TO HER. BECAUSE HE IS GOOD TO HER. WAY TOO GOOD FOR HER😒😒 COLLIN HAVE A REPUTATION OF BEING A MAN WHOR3 IN SCHOOL SO EVERYBODY KNOWS... BUT HE CHOOSE THE HEROINE AND REALLY START LIKING THE HEROINE BIG TIME. EVEN IN THE SECOND DATE, HE SAID HE THAT HIS FALLING FOR HER....

THE HEROINE IS HAPPY ABOUT IT. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, SHE STARTS GETTING JEALOUS OF HER GUY BEST FRIEND IS HOCKING UP WITH GIRLS AND HAVE MANY GIRLFRIENDS... WHILE SHE'S IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH COLLIN THAT SHE CLAIMS TO BE IN LOVE WITH FOR YEARS!!!! W.T.F.

3. THE DAMN BTCH HEROINE ALWAYS CONFUSES ABOUT HER FEELINGS. SOMETIMES SHE THOUGHT ABOUT COLLIN, SOMETIMES SHE THOUGHT ABOUT THE HER GUY BEST FRIEND. SHE CLAIMS THAT SHE'S NOT THAT INTO HER GUY BEST FRIEND, BUT WHY ALWAYS WONDERS ABOUT YOUR FEELING ABOUT HIM???! WHY? DAMN WOMAN MAKE UP YOUR MIND CAUSE YOU HELLA CONFUSING ME.

I AM EXTREMELY CONFUSED😂

4. WHEN THE BAND WAS STARTING TO GROW AND SHOWING UP TO CERTAIN CLUBS. ONE OF THE CLUB OWNER STARE AT THE HEROINE AND STARTING TO LIKE HER. HE IS A MAN, NOT TOO OLD LIKE IN HIS THIRTIES. HE ASK THE HEROINE TO MEET HIM AND SHE TOLD HER THAT EVERY TIME WHEN THE BAND PERFORM AT HIS PLACE OR AT HIS LABEL COMPANY, SHE WILL WATCH IT WITH HIM NEXT TO HIM WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS. SHE SAID SURE. AND EVERYTIME SHE MEET THIS GUY, THIS GUY ALWAYS SHOWS HIS INTEREST ON HER BY MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT HER AND ALWAYS TOUCH HER LITTLE LIKE HER HANDS LIKE THAT. NOT MORE THOUGH. AND THE DUMB HEROINE SHE DOESN'T SAY THAT TO COLLIN HER BOYFRIEND ABOUT THAT MAN IS DOING AND SAYING ALL THIS TIME... DAMN HEROINE YOU ARE SOOO FREAKIN STUPID.

5. THE HEROINE IS SO CLOSE AND EVEN BECAME BEST FRIENDS TO HER BOYFRIEND'S COLLIN EX GIRLFRIEND😂😂😂 WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER!!!!! AND EVERYTIME SHE FREAKIN TALKS ROMANTICALLY OR JUST IN GENERAL WANTS TO TALK ABOUT THE HERO WITH THE WOMAN, THE WOMAN ALWAYS SHOWS HER SAD FACE OR FROWNED FACE TO THE HEROINE WHEN SHE TALKS ABOUT COLLIN. THE HEROINE EVEN ADMIT THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH THAT WOMAN STILL LOVES COLLIN.... AND THE HEROINE IS ALWAYS OKAY WITH ALL OF THAT🤢🤢🤢 I'M GONNA BE SICK!!!!

CAN THIS HEROINE BE MORE STUPID.

I hate when i read stories that the heroine have to be friends with the hero's ex girlfriend or even have to be around their group of friends. Like why you even say yes to be friends with someone who's already ONCE have your boyfriend inside of her? Why? What's next? An orgy's party of them together thinking it's okay and good? Lol. If i read a novel that have scenes like that, I will immediately deleted it.

6. ONE DAY AND THIS IS THE HEROINE ALREADY DATED COLLIN FOR 5 MONTHS. ONE DAY THE HEROINE WAS HAVING SUCH A BAD DAY LIKE REALLY EXTREMELY BAD DAY. HER SISTER FOUND THEIR MOTHER DEAD (HER MOM WAS A CRACKHEAD AND NOT A GOOD MOM ANYWAY) IN THE APARTMENT, THE HEROINE WENT TO SEARCH FOR HER SAVINGS AND HER SISTER'S SAVINGS AND IT'S ALL GONE. SO... COLLIN OFFER TO HELP THEM AND LET THEM STAY AT HIS HOUSE FOR THE NIGHT. THE HEROINE LISTEN TO COLLIN TALKING TO HIS PARENTS ABOUT THEM.

Damn his parents is so heartless and not nice people. They're okay with the heroine and her sister to stay at their place for several days but they said it cannot be longer than that. They even start to worry about collin liking the heroine too much because collin willing to SACRIFICE EVERYTHING to the heroine. He even was planning to take care of the heroine from the moment they started dating because he wants them to be safe and not live anymore with their bad mom. So sweet of him🥺🥺🥺 COLLIN WILLING DO EVERYTHING TO HER, HE EVEN DEFEND HER TO HIS HEARTLESS PARENTS. His parents is so bad like come on, the girl just found out her crackhead mom is dead and she doesn't have any money and she doesn't have anywhere else to go and they know her situation, but they're not kind enough to even let her stay for as long as she can with her sister. Damn if i was in that situation, i let that girl and her sister stay for as long as she likes...

AFTER HEARING THIS, THE HEROINE DECIDES TO MAKE A PLAN WITH HER SISTER TO RUN AWAY FROM COLLIN. SHE EVEN HAVE A LETTER LIKE A BREAKUP LETTER FOR COLLIN ABOUT IT. BECAUSE SHE FELT IT WAS NOT HIS JOB TO TAKE CARE OF THEM AND SHE THINKS COLLIN IS JUST A BOY THAT CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THEM. LIKE HELLOOO.... SHE ALREADY LISTENED TO THE PLAN OF THE HERO WAS PLANNING ON DOING FOR THEM AND SHE RUNS AWAY??! WTF WITH THIS BTCH.

SHE RUNS AWAY WITH HER SISTER TO THE MAN WHO OWNS THE CLUB AND OFFERS HIM TO help them immediately. He said okay but he have conditions, he told her to always company him everywhere he goes. She said okay as long he didn't sleep or have s3x with her. He let her and her sister to sleep at a storage room😒😒 seriously? This man claims to be obsessed with the heroine but put her and her sister to sleep and stay at the storage room? I was so disgusted when i read that. I know she was asking him to help her but seriously, storage room?????!!!! The damn guy is rich and he offer her that place to stay????!!!!!

7. SHE BREAK UP WITH COLLIN BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT HE DESERVE BETTER AND SHE DOESN'T WANT HIM TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH HER CONSIDERING SHE'S A MESS. Collin meet up with after she runs away like several days later, he wants to talk because the break up letter she wrote to him is not enough. They talk. Collin even offer everything nice things to the heroine so she can be safe with him and they can be together. Offer her place to stay like not with his parents but with his own money they can find a little place for her and her sister, offer her a job, offer her his love. LIKE THIS GUY REALLY TRULY LOVES HER SO MUCH. HE WAS BEGGING ON HER TO NOT BREAK UP WITH HIM. BUT WHAT THE STUPID B*TCH DO?! THE STUPID B*TCH SAID NO. SHE FCKING SAID NOOO TO EVERYTHING HE OFFER... HE WAS SOOO HEARTBROKEN.

8. WHEN THEY BROKE UP, COLLIN SLEPT WITH HIS EX GIRLFRIEND WHO IS THE HEROINE'S BEST FRIEND THAT THE HEROINE IS HAPPILY OKAY WITH HER BECOMING HER BEST FRIEND KNOWING THAT THE WOMAN IS THE HERO'S EX AND KNOWING THAT THE WOMAN STILL HAVE FEELINGS FOR HIM. COLLIN SLEPT WITH THAT WOMAN.... THE HEROINE HAVE THE AUDACITY TO BE MAD AND EVEN SAY SHE STILL LOVES HIM AND CLAIMED TO HER SISTER THAT SHE IS GOING TO LOVE COLLIN FOR FOREVER AND THAT SHE WON'T BE MOVING ON. SERIOUSLY????? YOU BROKE UP WITH HIM. YOU ARE TOO STUPID.

DAMN THIS HEROINE IS TOO STUPID. I HATE HER SO BAD.

SEE??? FCKING CONFUSING😒😒 Of course the hero will do something stupid, you were throwing out his true love feelings for you for nothing and you didn't even want to think about it when you know that he already tell you many times how much he loves you and you're the one for him.

Fck you very much heroine!!!!

9. AFTER THAT WHOLE THING HAPPENED, THE HEROINE MEET UP WITH HER GUY BEST FRIEND. THE GUY ALMOST KISSED HER BUT DIDN'T WORK BECAUSE SOMETHING DISTURB THEM. THE HEROINE KEEP THINKING ABOUT HER GUY BEST FRIEND LIKE WHAT HIS ACTUALLY GOING TO DO, IS SHE TRULY LOVES HIM OR NOT.

LIKE OH MY GOODNESS...
HEROINE.
ONE PERSON AT ONE TIME GIRL!!! YOUR FEELINGS AND THOUGHTS ARE SOOOOO FCKING CONFUSING!!!! YOU KEEP THINKING ABOUT COLLIN AND THEN YOUR GUY BEST FRIEND!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU WOMAN!!!!!🤢🤢🤢🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

10. WHILE THE HEROINE AND COLLIN ARE DATING, COLLIN IS SOOO FCKING LOYAL TO HER. HIS IN THE BAND AND ARE THE LEAD GUITARIST, MANY GROUPIES COMES UP TO HIM BUT HE IMMEDIATELY PUSH THEM AWAY BECAUSE HE WANTS THE HEROINE. HE IS LOYAL TO HEROINE VERY MUCH. BUT IN THOSE 5 MONTHS OF THEM DATING, THE HEROINE IS CONFUSED ABOUT HER FEELINGS WITH HER GUY BEST FRIEND. She even let that club owner touch her hands and flirting comments to her, she never tells the hero about it. So for me, the heroine is too bad for collin and I'm happy that collin slept with his ex. The heroine herself was not even honest about her feelings and about their relationship the entire time they were dating.

11. The heroine and the club owner man have s3x several days later when the heroine found out that her ex collin have sex with his ex girlfriend. And you know what, collin's ex girlfriend is the little sister of the club owner. SO CRAZY. SO The heroine have s3x with that man, but to be honest my opinion on what happened is just not too hot. Cause the heroine seems like was not into it you know, but the man himself was really good and amazing to her. He said all of these great romantic words to her. But the sad part is that, in the morning after, the heroine thinks about her ex collin. What it's like to be with him, what it's like to have him holding her. This heroine seriously needs a brain check.

12. Story goes with the heroine and her sister and some friends and one of them being Collin as well, started a band together and they started from day one from scratch. Creating the name, who's this and that like the whole thing. So i thought it would be a great band story you know... DAMN I WAS WRONG. The band only just for a short time and then they break up for something so stupid and beyond idiotic. Like seriously author? Why you even write all that band this and that then just made them do so bad to the point of them breaking up and have no future left?! It's like I'm just wasted my time🥵

I already stopped reading this book because it's too damn confusing and motherfcking annoying. The heroine is too fcking confusing and annoying and childish woman. Maybe then she will think she's going to be a leprechaun. Or she thinks that elephant is a leprechaun or something idk cause how confusing her mind is😂 It breaks my heart when the heroine push collin away and even break up with him and ignore him like nothing when he was sooooo extremely sweet and loving to her and willing to do everything to her... He still young and he thinks about that to her, she supposed to feel lucky to have him. But noooo... She just treats him like nothing ever HAPPENED between them.

Even in the end she tells him this and he replied saying this.

“Go back to Miranda,”

“I would, except I want you. I wanted to build a whole world around you at one time, but you wouldn’t have me.”

🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 HE FCKING STILL WANTS HER IN THE END AFTER MONTHS LATER... When collin is already with his ex girlfriend and even got her pregnant with his child but he still say that to the heroine😂 IDK COLLIN... You're confusing me too. THIS WHOLE STORY IS FCKING CONFUSING!!!

Save yourself from this headache book. Up to you.

I gave it 2 stars because one, collin is a great guy. Two, i like how many guys likes the heroine. But damn I don't want her to be damn stupid about it, choose one guy damnit woman.

It's like her body is loyal but her thoughts is already cheating because she keeps thinking about two guys at once and even one other guy too that club owner😂😂😂😂 FCKING CONFUSING. AND THE SECOND BOOK IS IN MARCH. OH NOOOO. I WILL NOT GONNA READ THAT. THIS HEROINE IS WAY TOO STUPID FOR MY TIME.

‼️‼️‼️ BTW EVERYBODY, I JUST FOUND OUT IN THE LAST PART OF THE BOOK FROM MY FRIEND THAT THE HERO CHEATED ON THE HEROINE WHILE THEY WERE TOGETHER WITH HIS EX GIRLFRIEND.

“It wasn’t something I chose to do. It just happened, and only a couple of times.”
She bit down on her lip.

“He only came to me for sex, but he always went back to you. He wasn’t even conflicted. It was you he loved.”

Her brown eyes filling, she laid her hand over her abdomen.
“He still loves you.”

She might be right, but Collin’s love was as warped as Martin’s affection.

“Did your brother know you and Collin were having sex while Collin and I were together?”

So i don't know what to say anymore😂😂😂🥵🥵🥵 this book is utterly so fcked up

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽

I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

Getting it wrong… felt so right!

As with anything Michelle writes, I start reading knowing it’s going to blow me away and this book did not disappoint.
Getting It Wrong follows Addy, a girl in an unfortunate home situation trying to navigate her senior year of high school, having to grow up too fast, taking care of her sister, learning about and experiencing different kinds of love, while working through serious trust issues, and honestly, trying to please everyone, all the time.
This book is the prequel to Hot Summer Night and Breaking Her Bad, which is the story of Claire (Addy’s niece) and Kyle (another connection to Addy’s early years) 18 years after this book takes place. I could actually see reading this two book series first, then get into Claire’s story- i read it the other way, so i had an idea who ends up with who and a few plot twists from this book we’re referenced and slightly explained in Claire’s story, so it wasn’t much of a shock when it happened in this book. That being said- it DID NOT take away from the reading experience. Michelle has a way with her writing, that you actually feel something for her characters.
You become so engaged in the story that time flies by and before you know, you’re done with it in one sitting.
I would absolutely recommend this book!

It's very rare for me to be so angst ridden while reading a book, but in the case of this one, putting it down for a while here and there was the only way to calm my racing heart and my ruined nerves!! Michelle Mankin's superpower had got to be how to torture her readers with twist after suspenseful, dramatic twist but I wouldn't want her to write any other way. If you've read the No Quarter duet released in 2021 then you know a part of the story, but not all of it. Getting it Wrong can be read without them- the story is complete on its own when the last part of this duet is released, but for further enlightenment and enjoyment- read those too.

Getting it Wrong explores the beginnings of Addy and her sister Rachel's tumultuous years, decades earlier, spent under the abusive thumb of their sleazy, drug addicted mother. Their father is long gone and they've been left to fend for themselves, often trusting the wrong kind of people. Seattle's Southside and Lakeside are opposite worlds in every way but the seamy underbelly of drugs and corruption have existed and ruined lives for many years. These sister's love of music has kept them sane for most of their lives and forming a band with other talented friends seems like the most wonderful idea and a great escape for them all.

But be careful what you wish for as Addy, Rachel and the bands future begins to spiral out of control. Secrets, lies and deceptions are woven together to create one big sticky web that will be impossible to untangle. There is an unfeeling villian pulling on all their strings and he gets what he wants, one way or another. It seems like trauma and sadness are the only things Addy and Rachel can count on in their young lives. What will happen in the conclusion of this unpredictable, emotional second chance rollercoaster of a story in Getting it Right? You'll be dying to find out, just like I am.
Although my heart took a beating, I was happy to have received an early copy of this story to read and review.

Addy loves music and her sister. Her home life is definitely messed up. And she has an awesome best friend, Barry, who cares for her and her sister.

She has a crush on Collin, although she does have feelings for Barry. And then she gets her chance with Collin, while getting her sister and Barry positions in his band. She becomes the band’s manager and secures them a spot at Martin’s club. Martin is older and has his sights set on Addy. What’s a girl to do??

I feel bad that Addy ends up compromising some of her beliefs in order to make things better for everyone else. But is it really the best thing? There are lots of ups and downs, but I enjoy a good rollercoaster story.

It is incredible the amount of suffering that Addy goes through. I just hope it works out with the person that I think she is meant to be with in the second book.

Rock Romance Lovers

This is a book for people who love rock romances with great characters written with so much heart. We’ve seen Addy before in previous books and we are now lucky enough to get her story. She is young and trying to raise her younger sister since her parents baled on her family. Addy was selfless always putting others first.

This is a love triangle done so well that it left me “feeling” so much with heartbreak being one of them. This author always writes with so much heart and knows how to bring her characters to life. Ms. Mankin also brought one heck of a cliffhanger and has me waiting on pins and needles for the next book to see how this can all work out. I highly recommend this book.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. I could not put it down!! Addy's story is full of twists and turns. From the humble beginnings of manager of her sister's band (ABCR), to the spectacular fall from grace, Addy goes the extra mile to protect those she loves. It is hard to believe the amount of loss she has endured in her short life, but her persistence to survive it all is inspiring. This is not your typical love triangle story, it is so much more!! Not for the faint of heart, there are scenes of drug use and physical/mental abuse. On the flip side, there are also steamy hookups and plenty of angst driven emotional moments to keep you invested. Be warned of the cliffhanger that will have you holding your breath and dying a little inside knowing you have to wait until the next release...

Wow….I loved reading Hit Summer Nights and Breaking Her Bad and getting to know Claire and Kyle but I am totally blown away with Getting It Wrong. This is the longest book I have read in a very long time. So although I couldn’t read it in one sitting I will admit I wanted to try. Alas, my husband would kill me if I did that. Getting It Wring is a very moving, enthralling, powerful, emotional read filled with so many twists, turns, things going sideways, drama, angst, ups, downs, revelations, emotions, and so very hot. From the very first page till the last I was enthralled. I did not want to put it down and only did so if I couldn’t help it. If I didn’t have familial obligations that is exactly what I would have done (keep reading and turning those pages). I know we have been introduced to Addy in Breaking Her Bad so we know some details about her and I admit that I wanted to know more so when I found out that Michelle Mankin, authors was releasing Getting It Wrong I knew I had to read it. I am so glad I did. Addy, Rachel, Collin, Barry, are so easy to empathize with that you can’t help but laugh, cry, and feel their emotions right along with them. The characters from Getting It Wrong are so well developed that you want to know all about them and don’t want the book to come to and end and especially with a cliffhanger since you know that you won’t want to wait to find out what happens next. Michelle Mankin really out did herself with Getting It Wrong and I have commend her on doing an outstanding job with Getting It Wrong. I can’t wait for Getting It Right. I so badly wish that I could just jump right into Getting It Right but will have to try and be patient as it is not due to be released till the end of March. I highly recommend Getting It Wrong, Addy’s Rollercoaster Romance series and Michelle Mankin as an author. Readers who are willing to read and who have been waiting to read Getting It Wrong will not be disappointed at all. Happy Reading!

I really like the unexpected twist of the story, it's refreshing. Addy's story was one I was waiting for, This plot was a full-on ride of ups and downs with all twists involved. The title definitely suits the story, as Addy keeps getting it wrong. The story is a bit longer and it starts a bit slow, but then you are on a full ride. If you like Michelle Mankin as I do, you know what you are in for and then some.

I love all things rockstar and Michelle Mankin writes a mean rockstar story every time and Getting It Wrong is no exception!

We've seen Addy in Michelle's other books, Hot Summer School Nights and Breaking Her Bad, but never enough to get her full story. Well now Addy finally gets her story, starting in book one of her duet Getting It Wrong.

Addy has had so many heartbreaking events in her life, that have left her guarded and distrustful of everyone. But she's always turned to the one thing that's never left her down….music. As Addy protects and takes care of her sister, she ends up meeting Andy and Collin, her high school crush. Along with her best friend Barry, they formed the band ABCR, with Addy as their manager. They are headed towards a promising future, where Addy and her sister Rachel may finally be able to escape their dismal circumstances, but fate takes a wrong turn and derails their plans. Addy must fix this, but in the process, she makes a deal with the devil himself, club owner Martin Skellin. Addy will do anything to protect her sister and friends, but at what cost to herself?

Addy's story was definitely a page turner that had me on the edge of my seat until the very end! But WOW!!! At the end, Michelle gave us the mother of all cliffhangers, leaving this reader DYING for book 2, Getting It Right, to find out if Addy finally does "get it right" and has her own happily ever after.

OMG this book. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Once again, Ms. Mankin has delivered a storyline that will pull at all of your emotions and leave you spent. Just when you think something is about to happen, the author throws in a curve ball that may have you saying, no she did not do that or screaming WHY??!! This is Addy’s story and it is all that and then some. Addy just cannot seem to catch a break. Just shy of her eighteenth birthday, she is doing everything she can to take care of her younger sister and deal with a drug addicted mother. The one bright spot in her life is her affinity to music. Even though she cannot play an instrument, she is gifted by having an innate sense when it comes to the flow of the rhythm. Thank goodness for her best friend Barry. He understands Addy like no one else and has a comparable upbringing. They are two peas in a pod and Barry seems to be enamored with Addy. However, Addy has her sights set on Collin knowing that she has no chance with him, until…they, along with Collin’s best friend and Addy’s sister, decide to start a band. At first all is going well and then it is as if the floor drops out from under them. Overall, this is one book that will have you on the edge of your seat as the drama unfolds. The character depth is so poignantly written that the reader can feel the angst of the situation he or she finds him/herself in. It does end in a cliffhanger but do not let that deter you from reading this masterpiece. I am eagerly awaiting the next book to see if Addy will get it right.

4.5 stars

I was very intrigued by Addy after the events that unfolded in Kyle and Claire's story Breaking Her Bad. I was excited to hear that she would be getting her own turn in the spotlight so that we could learn more about her past- and hopefully her chance to finally find happiness in the future.

All I can say is wow, what a wild roller coaster of emotions! In my mind, her journey really revolves around 3 men: the one she thinks she loves, the one she is afraid to love, and one who is the devil incarnate who wants to possess her or destroy her if he can't. That's a lot for a senior in high school to say the least, but Addy has an inner light that shines despite the circumstances of her life in Southside even if she doesn't see it. She is a caretaker and self sacrificing to a fault, and she knowingly puts herself in danger to ensure her sister and their friends have a better future ahead of them even if means dooming herself to a fate no one should experience.

Unfortunately her group doesn't see it her way, and every small victory is followed by a blow of some sort. Despite Addy's best efforts, things start to fall apart but she is already trapped by the consequences of the decisions she had to make to survive. I had to put the book down a few times to emotionally regroup, but having some knowledge of her future had me diving back in once I had a chance to breathe and absorb it all. That cliffhanger ending was a jolt, but fortunately we don't have long to wait for the second half of the story!

What a ride! No sitting quietly reading this book. I was pretty much on the edge of my seat the whole time! This is a story about a 17 year old girl called Addy who is trying to salvage a future for herself and her younger sister out out of the ruins of their young lives. A father who abandoned them and a drug addict for a mother, Addy has no choice but to leave home. What happens next is a rollercoaster of a book where Addy does everything she can to make a new life for herself and her sister Rachel. Addy has music in her heart and soul. When she immerses herself in music she feels she could do anything. Addy soon finds herself in the middle of 3 men; her best friend Barry Evans, her high school crush Collin Murphy and a club owner, Martin Skellin who has a hidden agenda for Addy that she does not see coming. Collin has a rock band and he wants Addy's sister, who is a very talented guitar player, to join them. Thus the band ABCR is born and Addy finds herself the manager. Collin has Addy on his radar and they are soon in a relationship. Martin Skellin owns the club where he has agreed for ABCR to play but his main focus is on Addy. He is a despicable person, cruel and devious. He knows that Addy would do anything to protect her sister and Martin knows it.
Once Addy is no longer seeing Collin, Martin makes his move and Addy finds herself in another relationship, but she realizes too late that he wants to 'own' her and blackmails her into an abusive relationship that she is powerless to escape from.
Her best friend Barry is watching the train wreck and just tries to be supportive, but Martin is watching him too.
Ms. Mankin does not shy away from telling Addy's story and I found it makes for some difficult reading. Getting it Wrong is truly an amazing book and I, like everyone else, am waiting patiently as I can for the conclusion of this powerful duet. I was given this ARC for an honest review.

I couldn’t put this book down. Addy and her sister have had one heck of a life. Addy has a best friend, Barry, who seems to have a crush on her, and Collin is a guy she’s crushing on. With all their love of music, Addy, her sister, Barry, Collin, and his best friend Andy start a band-ABCR. Addy is their manager. Everything starts out good, and they are able to perform at a club. Addy and Collin also start dating, Barry isn’t happy about that, and things are looking up. A family tragedy turns everything around. Things start falling apart, relationships dwindle and Addy is willing to do anything to make things right. What she goes thru is heartbreaking. All she wants is to have a better life for herself and her sister. At what cost though is the question? The owner of the club, Martin, definitely has a lot in store for her. Will Addy keep getting it wrong or can she eventually defy odds and get it right? This book will pull at your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat wanting one more chapter.

This book had a bit of  a slow start but man once it got going it was a wild ride! I really felt for Addy. You would forget she was just a kid with how much responsibility she shouldered. I didn't always understand her reasoning but she was put in some really tough situations and was between a rock and a hard place so I guess any choice she made was probably going to blowup in her face. Of course Barry is my favorite of the guys. From the very beginning I was pulling for him. Addy seems to have the deepest connection with him and that means the most to me.
This was a complex story that was very thoroughly written. Honestly it was not at all what I was expecting when I saw Addy was getting a story with multiple love interests. It was very intense and emotional
You get a real feel for all of the characters and it was very descriptive. There was plenty of background on everyone so that you could understand their motives. The last half of the story just flew by and that ending was just, wow!!! Would definitely recommend it!

I absolutely love everything that Michelle Mankin writes. Getting it Wrong is the first book in a duet about Addy Fottit and the love triangle she finds herself in. This book does end in a huge cliffhanger so read with caution.

Addy and her sister Rachel have a horrible home life and Addy has vowed to do whatever it takes to keep her sister safe. She encourages her sister to join a band with her crush Collin, his best Andy and her best friend Barry. The band gets a gig at a local club where Addy finds herself getting extra attention from the owner. She isn't crazy about the extra attention but knows she has to do whatever it takes to provide for her and Rachel. Addy goes through a rollercoaster of events and emotions and I was shocked with the ending! Michelle did an amazing job of keeping me on my toes throughout the book.

I loved the connection all characters had. This book took me on quite an emotional rollercoaster. I can't wait for the conclusion to Addy's story!!

Addy Footit has been a steady and consistent character throughout so many of Michelle Mankin’s books. It is only fair that her story is told. From where it all begins, through every pivotal breakneck turn in her life, you will be on such an emotional roller coaster! The strong, steady and confident bar owner travels a very long road in her story. I found myself so absorbed in the book and so emotionally invested, I had to force myself to put it down and step away many times because of how emotionally invested I became. I have never read a book that felt so emotionally raw and real until now. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for part 2 of her story. I highly suggest reading about all of the kids from Southside first, because knowing how important and steady she is in so many lives, makes her story so much more impactful!

Getting It Wrong is the first in Michelle Mankin’s new duet. Based on Addy Footit, this is an amazing story of love, resilience, and determination. Addy is a wonderful character, as are her supporting cast, you will find yourself cheering on and then swearing from the sidelines. Be prepared, this book has blown me away!

I’ve been caught up in Addy’s life for the past 24 hours, once started this is not a book to be put down. There are highs, and like with everything Southside, there are incredible lows, but you can’t help but love these characters and will want to stay on the rollercoaster until you’re done. You want to embrace and protect them, they are the type of characters who I know will remain with me for a long time.

Addy first appeared in ‘Breaking her Bad’. This is her and Rachel’s story and you won’t be disappointed.

Michelle Mankin’s Getting It Wrong, Addy’s Rollercoaster Romance is book 1 of a duet. It is one of her best books ever released! I have devoured all books she has written, but she keeps writing must-read books. Once you begin to read, it captivates the reader to the point that no one will be able to put it down until you read the last page! Addy’s story is complex with romance, jealousy, unrequited love, intrigue, betrayal, and heart-wrenching self-sacrifice. This book’s heat level is off the charts hot! It ends on a cliff-hanger, but Michelle Mankin’s books all have a guaranteed HEA. All of Michelle Mankin’s books aren’t just books one needs to experience, and they are essential buys so one can reread as many times as you want! I, for one, am anxiously awaiting the final book of the duet, Getting It Right, Addy’s Rollercoaster Romance coming out on March 31.

Getting It Wrong is book one in a duet by Michelle Mankin.

This book is a prequel and takes place prior to Hot Summer Nights and Breaking Her Bad, which is where you are introduced to Addy Footit as an adult. In these books you find out how some things in her life ended, but with this book you find out why she made the choices she did. Choices and decisions that a 17 year old should not have to make.

You do not need to read the other books to enjoy this one, the author gives you the perfect amount of background information on the characters.

I absolutely loved this book. It was an angsty, emotional, frustrating at times, beautiful story. There are many twists and turns to this emotional story and the writing is exceptional. I can not wait for the second book.

This book does end with a cliff hanger, but I’m sure we won’t have to wait long for the second book.

Addy...getting it Wrong

Addy had to grow up fast, taking care of herself and her sister Rachel. Addy has had one thing that helps her though tough times and that is music. We have been introduced to Addy in a few past Mankin's books. Rachel, Collin and Barry will form ABCR , Addy takes on as their manager. Things will lift up for the sisters but than something happens and Addy will do whatever to keep her sister safe. Marton Skellin aka the Devil in disguise has a solution. The story turns dark, is full of angst, it may cause triggers for some readers.
Addy needs to get it right and I am hoping after the cliffhanger Mankin left us with, in book two Getting it Right we finally get to see Addy's HEA. I am so happy the second book will be released at the end of March.

I received an ARC of the story for an honest review!
Happy Reading!!

Getting it Wrong was a great read by Michelle Mankin. Addy Footit is a seventeen year old who is different than most other girls her age. She has to plan for anything she wants. She was abandoned by her father and left with her drug addicted mother. She will do anything she has to in order to take care of her younger sister. Her only escape is music. Her handsome best friend Barry Evans understands her situation because he finds himself in a similar one. Collin Murphy has been Addy’s crush and one indulgence. He sets his eyes on Addy when her younger sister joins his rock band. Martin Skelton, the rich owner of the club where the band performs becomes obsessed with Addy as well. One man wants to win her heart, while the other wants to rule her. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.

This one is an emotional tear jerker and seeing that awful Martin was in this I knew it would have some dark twists. Addy and Rachel are trying to come out ahead of the abuse at the hands of their drug addict mother and a father that split. They only really have each other and Southside is a harsh world that keeps trying to chew them up and spit them out in a worse place than they started. It was a stressful and emotional read and it ends on a cliffhanger that will have you crying out in frustration because you have to wait for book 2 for the resolution. Despite this, the book is a great read as always, Michelle Mankin delivers as usual. You won’t want to miss it and you’ll be anxiously waiting on book 2. I know I can’t wait for the conclusion to see if Addy can beat the darkness back. Get reading so you too are ready for book 2!

Kindle Copy for Review

Life is not easy for this seventeen year old teenager who tries to keep things afloat as she basically cares for her younger sister who was abandon by their dad and a mom who is a drug addict. The only solace she has is music and her male best friend who understand her.

When her sister joins a rock band she will catch the eye of the handsome guitarist whom she already has a crush on as he sets his sight on her but he is not the only one. There is the manager of the club where the band performs.

Who will she choose and do not forget her best friend? Who will win out in the end or will she choose none?

It is another delicious rock theme story from the author that will have you wanting the next book.

ARC review: Check TWs before reading.

Addy is a seventeen year old girl just trying to survive in a world that has let her down. Her father leaving and her drug addicted mother have made her grow up much quicker and take on the responsibility of caring for and protecting her younger sister Rachel.

Addy's sister winds up, joining the band ABCR that plays their gigs at a club, and Addy is deemed the band's manager. Music is Addy's life, and this is the perfect opportunity to be surrounded by the most important thing she loves.

Over the course of the book, you begin to see that it is not all fairy tales, and Addy has to make a deal with the devil in order to protect the ones she loves. But at what cost and to what end?

Book ends on a cliffhanger and can't wait to read the second book.

I'm a little broken after reading this book. Addy is an amazingly fragile and incredibly selfless character. She has so many hang ups and such a drive to look out for those she loves, to the detriment of her own feelings and her own well being. This is an engaging, emotional and often tough read from Michelle Mankin. My heart ached with the losses and broken trusts and the should have beens. Addy is caught between her high school crush, Collin, and her best friend, Barry. She wants them both but cannot put her heart on the line and make a choice. Neither works hard enough to really earn her heart and end up causing her heartbreak instead.

If you've read Hot Summer School Night and Breaking Her Bad, you will have met Addy and some of these characters already. And the sinister Martin Skellin is a specter that appears across this world of rockstars and romance that Michelle has created.

Addy is just a brilliant character to read. She tries so hard to make the right choices but is so emotionally closed to protect herself that she is often misunderstood. I so desperately want a happy ending for her and it feels so very far away at the point this book ends (on a cliffhanger I might add). I have everything crossed (and my full faith in the author) that things will right themselves eventually.
