This heart wrenching yet ultimately uplifting story by New York Times bestselling author Michelle Mankin features a courageous woman who risks everything to protect those she loves.
Addy Footit is reeling from losses. She lost her home. Her boyfriend crushed her heart. Her girlfriend’s brother shattered what was left of her. The band she and her sister Rachel hoped would be a success is on the rocks. Addy’s plans have failed her and so has love. Worse, her previous problems have been replaced by an even more terrifying one.

Her handsome best friend might be the right one to help her put the pieces of her broken life back together. He understands her. He’s strong. He’s accustomed to adversity. But he’s younger than her. He has troubles of his own, and if she crosses that friendship line with him, she can’t uncross it. All the reasons that kept them apart in the first place remain. Plus, there’s a new one, a precious secret, a life altering one.

Will Addy escape the powerful man who is obsessed with her? Will she find trustworthy new friends to replace the ones who betrayed her? Can wounds as deep as hers heal?

WARNING. The conclusion to Addy’s Rollercoaster Romance is as deeply emotional as the beginning. Your heart will ache. You will cry. When you think it can’t get more painful, it will. But you’ll smile too. When relationships are mended. When friendships are restored. When Addy transforms her mistakes into triumphs. When she finally gets the hero she deserves.
Spoiler alert. She gets it right this time.

The emotional conclusion of Michelle Mankin's Getting it Wrong's rocky beginning is waiting for you to devour right now. The characters inhabiting her gritty Southside world might just break your heart as you delve deep into their tumultuous, uncertain lives. The ups and downs they faced seemed insurmountable at times and were filled with dangerous obstacles that no teen should have to bear.

In Getting it Right, Addy Footit finds herself in trouble- alone and trying to extract herself from a horrible situation but the only way out of it will break her heart and change her life forever. As the years go by, Addy achieves success in her business but still nurses a broken heart that will never mend. Happiness and love will never be part of her life....or so she thinks.

She was barely living when the people she shut out of her life years before started showing up, not taking no for an answer when she needed them most. One of them is about to rock her world but will she let go of her fear and take the risk? Will the second chance Addy never saw coming be given after all these years?

There was so much emotion packed into Addy's journey from unbeliveable heartache and constant fear to cautiously hopeful. I had to break out the tisues as I watched this strong, battle weary woman ultimately find joy and the happy ending she never thought was possible. What a twist filled, rollercoaster of a tale Michelle Mankin spun around these resilient, determined characters. One of my favorite things about Getting it Right was that the music which played such a big part in the story, beginning with Addy, her sister and their friends years before, had finally come full circle in every way as this duet concluded. Although Addy's story ended somewhat abruptly, I did enjoy Getting it Right and revisiting this world again.

I received an early copy of this book to read and review.

Oh, Yes She Did Get It Right!!!

Ms. Mankin did exactly that. She killed the second book in this duet revolving around Addy. After the first book of Getting It Wrong I didn’t think my heart could be shredded any more but this did it all over again with once again feeling like my heart was tore out…only this time with a HEA.

What a superbly written book that brought my emotions front and center because of this strong courageous woman and the struggles she has went through.

Well done Ms. Mankin!!!

What a great heart-wrenching finale for this story, another wild rollercoaster ride that I couldn't put down. Addy's story is everything, I laughed, I cry and I had everything in between. The story got me from the start, it was a bit slow at first but this book took another pacing and was a good match for me, the plotline was well done, the world-building was perfect for the story, the characters were fantastic. Michelle Mankin outdid herself with this duet, an amazing 5 star for this one!

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I thought book one was emotional roller coaster but this one just might top that as we get the rest of Addy's love story. Just when she thoughts things were going to work life has other plans for her that will throw everything for a loop. Lots of twists and surprises makes for quite the captivating read as you hope things work out for her. Makes for a fabulous read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Michelle definitely came through for her readers with Getting it Right. Addy is my ultimate favorite hero. What she goes through and overcomes is the definition of a "Strong Woman". The emotions you feel for this character. Warning get the box of tissues cause your gonna cry! Then you will be on the cheering side as you read Addy turn her life around to the happy ending we all wished for her in Getting it Wrong.

Love Love Loved this series! Team Barry and Addy!!!

It definitely took Addy a very long time to finally get it right. At times, this book was hard to read. All I can say is that when you are in the middle of the storm, it is extremely difficult to see your way out. Addy made so many sacrifices, and most of them were not in her best interest. It was definitely interesting to see all of these other side characters in her story. Read this book if you are curious to see how Addy gets her HEA.

Excellent conclusion to Getting It Wrong
This was the conclusion to Gettin It Wrong. This concludes the story of friendship, love, manipulation and betrayal for a nice and tidy ending.
I have read ALL of Michelle Mankin’s works. There is always a connection to other characters in her other series. It’s like seeing an old friend. I highly recommend reading all her books.

Getting it Right was a great read by Michelle Mankin. This is the conclusion to Addy's Rollercoaster Romance. This book will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. Addy will risk everything to protect the people she loves. She has lost her home, her boyfriend, and her girlfriend's brother shattered what was left of her heart. Her band with her sister is also on the rocks. Her best friend may be the only person that is able to put the pieces of her life back together. He is younger than her and has troubles of his own. It seems that a life altering secret could mess everything up. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Addy Footit

The final conclusion of Addy's past and present. This is definitely a rollercoaster romance, book two starts off at the end of book one Getting it Wrong. This is a nail biting, sit on the edge of your seat story that gave me all the feels. We see everything Addy has gone through to get her to the strong powerful women she is in Southside. Mankin does an amazing job with both books and tied them together seamlessly. I highly recommend reading Getting it Wrong first, this duet can not be read seperate. Absolutely loved this story and I personally cant wait to see what happens next! Happy Reading!!

wow

Wow, just wow! I have truly enjoyed this series… I wish we knew more about what happened to Martin… Addy is a force to be reckoned with. She gave everything up to protect the people she loved. Her strength came through and her fear stopped. She was meant for Barry from the beginning of the series it just took her a while to figure it out. Barry was dealt a bad hand when it came to life but he turned everything around to rescue his damsel. Hope there will be more from these characters.

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review.

Michelle's doing it once again, but this time it's starting at the beginning of Addy's escape where my tears are streaming down, she really does know how to clutch your emotions, well mine & the tears carried in through to Chp.32 when Barry's back into Her life & THEN we see her become the STRONG Woman as she WAS as that Feisty Girl and we see/hear what Wealth & Strength that Barry is now & won't bank down this time.
And it was SOOO GOOD to See Martin Skellin get His Commupence & Seeing Addy meet up with Ella 💟

More Angst, Drama and Turmoil!

Readers beware, Getting It Right is not a lighthearted read by any stretch of the imagination. This is the final book in a two part series chronicling the lives of several teenage friends growing up in the Southside. Addy, the heroine of this story suffers greatly for a number of years both due to other's actions, and her own mistakes. It is quite emotional...!

Addy finds herself in a difficult situation as she must make a decision that can change her life. Will she be able to make the right choice so she can get her happy ever after?

It is a rollercoaster ride that you do not want to get off as you root for her. A delightful ending in this two part story as the author once again pulls you into her world.

The second book in this duet blew me away. I empathized with Addy, thinking she was doing best for everyone but herself. But when Barry comes back with all his love for her, she realizes with love everyone can be better

Getting it Right is the final book in the Addy's Duet series by Michelle Mankin. Getting it Right is the continuing story of Getting It Wrong. Getting It Wrong consists of decisions that nearly destroyed every band member of ABCR (Andy, Barry, Colin, and Rachel) and Addy, their unofficial band manager.
Addy's wrongs were horrendous as she sacrificed piece by piece of her heart until she was merely surviving day by day as bar owner of Footit, where Tempest, a famous band, was discovered. Addy lost her parents, sister, boyfriend, best friend, and child. She has emotional, mental, and physical scars from her time of brutalization by Winston's club owner Martin. He promised to take care of issues with the ABCR band, such as providing Addy custody of her sister Rachel and doctoring her birth certificate so the band could keep their record deal. It defies the description of how Martin could morph into an evil persona whose sole purpose was to incinerate ABCR band members in his quest to keep Addy as his pet!

Seventeen years later, the book, Getting it Right begins to right wrongs motivated by anger and hate to love being the prime motivator. Rachel and her daughter, Claire, return to Southside to live with Addy after tragically losing her husband to a heart attack. Colin's brother becomes a busser for Footit's bar and lives in the back apartment with Kyle, now a drug dealer and Colin's son. Enter Barry, Addy's best friend, and his son Tommy back in Southside, and the mix just get spicier and spicier! Add in Addy's fear of Martin has her suspended in fear, only a shell of her former self. The next-generation band members meet at Southside high and form a band; No Quarter consists of Claire playing bass and singing lead, Kyle playing guitar, and Tommy on the drums. Their lives so intersect that all the past wrongs bubble up like dirty scum. Broken hearts begin it mend; dark secrets become revealed, hell and pain burst into freedom, and love triumphs in the HEA! Michele Mankin's books are guilty pleasures for her readers! All books Michele Mankin writes are in a realm all their own for being so refreshing real that the reader teeters between the two opposites of can't wait to read to the end and never wanting the story to end.

Wow, what a ride! Getting It Right is just as emotional as Getting It Wrong, and although Addy starts off in a dark place, the light at the end of the tunnel is clearly visible.

GIR picks up exactly where we left off in GIW, and Addy's despair is palpable but she finds help from an unexpected source. Nothing comes easy though and she still has an arduous journey ahead of her. She escapes one form of hell but when she suffers yet another loss, she has to dig very deep to find the strength to continue putting one foot in front of the other. She has no one to confide in so she pours her thoughts and heart into her journals and focuses on building a new life for herself.

Fast forward to present day Addy: she is now a successful businesswoman and although she is alive, she isn't really living. She has taken in her sister and niece which has given her a new focus, but her world is rocked when her former best friend reappears in Southside with his son. He is all in on finally making a life with her, and he is determined to pull out all the stops to make it happen.

It wasn't their time all those years ago, but the life Barry has lived in the interim has made him into an even more confident man with resources Addy would never have dreamed of. Once he becomes aware of the abuse she suffered, the steps he takes to ensure he can be everything she needs melted my heart. And let's talk about those serious alpha vibes and actions... yowza!! In all aspects of her life, he is determined to provide the safety and happiness that she has been robbed of for so long. He helps her find the music in her head, heart and soul again.

I loved seeing how this new generation of the ABCR family comes together and merges with the first generation while folding in a few new members along the way too. The additional perspective on some of the events in Breaking Her Bad was enlightening, and I am thrilled to see the author's notes letting us know that Missy, Tommy and Rachel will all have a chance to tell their stories in the future. I have already gone back and re-read parts of this book since finishing it and I have no doubt I will revisit it in the future as well while I wait for those future stories to come along.

I really enjoyed Getting it Right by Michelle Mankin. This is the conclusion to Addy's story which begins in Getting it Wrong. This book will make you go though every emotion possible but it's definitely worth it in end.

Addy made quite a bold move at the end of Getting it Wrong and now she is paying for it. She goes to Martin's dad for help and of course he helps her but there are stipulations she must agree to. She knows she needs to try move on with life so she opens a business to keep her mind busy and find purpose in her life. She does very well but knows she isn't living due to the horrible things that happened to her. Her sister Rachel suffers a horrible tragedy her and her daughter move in with Addy. The start to rebuild their relationship which is healing for both of them. Addy's childhood best friend Barry comes back to Southside after being gone for many years and she isn't sure how to feel about it. As time goes on they slowly start to rebuild their friendship and he vows to protect from all the bad that has happened to her. Will they be able to let go of their past issues and learn to live in the moment?
.
I loved the deep connection between Addy and Barry. She tried so hard to push him away but he never gave up on her. I was happy to see that Addy reconnected with her sister and they were able to rebuild their relationship. It was great getting a glimpse into the younger generations lives. This book took me on quite the emotional rollercoaster and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to see what Michelle is working on next!

So for every tear of sadness I wept when reading Getting It Wrong, I wept double with pure joy at reading Getting It Right. I had no idea how Michelle would pull together a happy ending for Addy. Her life was filled with too much self sacrifice, loss and sadness. But Getting It Right ties up all the loose ends and gives her the perfect other half to take some of the burden from her and fill the gaps in her heart and soul. A soul mate best friend you could argue ❤️

I don't want to spoil too much as Getting It Wrong left so much open ended. But this is an all consuming love story filled with forgiveness, healing and second chances at making the right decisions. Addy is a product of her life and experience. She is tough and protective. It is hard for her to break down her walls. But this book really gives her a space to heal and find herself. I adored it and this is one of my favourite reads of the year so far.

Addy and all the characters in this world will stay with me for a long while yet. I was so relieved to read we'll be getting more in this timeline as I love how we get to see events from different perspectives and how lives overlap with the gritty rockstar world Michelle has created.

An emotional and joyous finish to this duet with a hugely satisfying HEA.

A fitting ending for Addy! I don't think I have read another character that has been through as much as Addy. You have to admire her strength for that. She took a little while to grow but once she found her footing she did well for herself.
Barry was the hero we all want. He always knew what to say and how to push yet support Addy. He taught her how to flourish beside him. He was always my pick from the very beginning.
I liked that we had some time go by so everyone could stand on their own and live their own lives before coming together again. I also really liked having the second generation join in. That was a fun touch.
I found that some parts were a little choppy in the dialog when multiple people were speaking, I wasn't always sure who was saying what. Otherwise it was well written and had a good pace to keep you engaged in the story.
It did get a little like a Hallmark movie towards the end with all the perfect things falling into place. It started so gritty and raw and just got a little too fluffy for how intense the story had been. I also would have liked to have seen more consequences for Martin.
I really did enjoy this duet though. Addy made lots of mistakes and had a rough time finding her happily ever after but it was all worth it in the end.

Getting It Right picks up where Getting It Wrong leaves off- an emotional rollercoaster that is Addy’s life, coming to a satisfying HEA for her. Michelle Mankin does a fabulous job at interweaving characters in books and the timelines- it makes reading her work so much fun- never having to worry about what to read next- just follow the story.

I loved how well all of the characters are developed in the stories that Michelle writes- you become invested and truly care about each one. It was amazing to see Addy and her sister, Rachel’s, relationship evolve over time and i can’t get enough of the new grown up Barry! It was so fun seeing the kids in the story interact through the OG rocker’s eyes. And I’ll say it again- i have no idea how Michelle was able to put the timelines so perfectly together. I finished this and immediately started the Tempest series again. Addy is truly a staple in all of Southside and I’m an elated that she made it through and got her HEA.
This is a MUST READ!

I've been hooked since TEMPEST...SUMMER SCHOOL...BREAKING HER BAD...and when I heard we were finally gonna get Addys story I was over the moon...the first book GETTING IT WRONG broke my heart I'm oh too well familiar with all the emotions she went through...so when GETTING IT RIGHT came and I got into it it was a flash of rainbows after a horrible storm...it took some doing and it darn near seemed impossible a lot of the time until our HERO came and decided NO MORE I'm oh so happy with this duet trust me the lives we already met intertwining and resurfacing some events becoming more clear characters being unfolded I was THOROUGHLY entertained....
I look forward to more stories from more characters to be told...Claire Kyle and Tommy's band needs their story...Missy needs some unpacking also...and let's not forget Rachel what's in store for her future there's a lot to be told and I'm sure we'll hear more about Addy in those...MICHELLE MANKIN GOT IT RIGHT OH SO RIGHT
