Book 19 in the bestselling PIB cozy mystery witch series.
Things with the directors are coming to a head. This time, Lily and the gang have help from MI6, but the English intelligence agency might be more of a liability than a help.
Lily and Will are itching to travel to Australia and get married, but they have the not-so-little matter of their enemies to conquer first. Unfortunately, there are many of them. The directors have caught wind that MI6 is helping the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, so they've been targeting their agents and murdering them. Lily and the gang step in to help, but it spreads the PIB resources thin.
To aid in beating the directors and several of their ally criminal gangs, Angelica has given the go-ahead for Lily's dream—a squirrel army. But all too late, Lily's realised that it means her beloved squirrels will be in the firing line. Regretting her decision will get her nowhere, so she's doing her best to train them so they're prepared because if she loses any, she'll never forgive herself.
With absolutely everything on the line, will Lily and the gang's magical powers and plans be enough to beat their many enemies, or will this be the war that brings them to ruin and the PIB to a tragic demise?
I love reading and writing. I'm a mother to two teens and two Siamese cats. I've got an associate degree of creative writing and am a full-time author. I write paranormal cosy mysteries with heroines who are quirky, kind, and love to right wrongs and get justice. I also love to make people laugh and give them an awesome escape, which is why I tell stories.
The ending was so sweet. I genuinely laughed about her chipmunk comments. The end of the second big bad arch and now we are on to the wedding!!! I’m so excited for the next book.
Dionne Lister's latest offering, Witch Showdown in Westerham, is an intramural battle between the directors and the working members of PIB and MI5. The PIB members have a legitimate disagreement with the directors that are cutting funds for operations. Reaching the point of revolution, backed by members of the PIB and MI5, it's arresting agents with dishonest ties to the directors, and later the directors trying to end the PIB.
Whew! The revolt pits them against more powerful witches. The battles stretch their individual abilities. Specially for Lily who is a consultant rather than an agent. Not a good book to become acquainted with the characters, but an excellent next book for those who read the previous stories.
I loved every line and page of this book. It is exciting, funny and it would be brilliant to see this as a television series. I am almost at the end of the Paranormal Investigation Bureau 21 book series, but still looking forward to the last two. I highly recommend this journey!
Love this series! From the first book to this one: I've seen awesome characters, intriguing mysteries, and have never smiled so much through 19 books. If you enjoy cozy witch mysteries you'll love this series.
I loved everything about this book. Especially the squirrels and their interaction with Lily. Can't wait to read about the wedding. Thank you Dionne for another good read.
I love the squirrel army is legit! Obviously Berry pulled through and I’m so glad. Seemed to take forever for the PBI to get the Directors but I’m glad everyone made it through safely. Can’t wait for Australia and the wedding!

As usual expertly written. I read it in a day. Love Lily and her quirks. The team thrive the challenges sent their way. This time with the furry brigade. X
Lily and team now have help from MI6 to take down the directors. Lily and Will just want to get to Australia to get married. You will just fall in love with the squirrels like Imani has, like she really thought she could fight the cuteness haha
