In the almost sixty years since the fractals emerged around Earth, mankind has been through chaos, wars and enlightenment. A new age has begun, one of promise, prosperity and opportunity.
In the Light nations.
A darkness still resides in the more remote corners of the Earth, and breathes heavy in the dark sector countries, though none as much as the west coast of what is left of the United States of America. Largely still lawless, the business of trafficking women has not died out here, and the stakes are higher than ever.
Evan Noori, having been kidnapped from her home in New Zealand, is the latest trafficking victim. The last thing she wants to be doing on her weekend off is fighting for her life in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, but it seems fate has a different agenda.
A chance meeting on the banks of an unknown river with Ghost Crew 231 has her world spinning completely off its axis. She knew about the crews that saved women, and kept the peace, but she never expected to meet one. Or to be recognized as the mate of one of its members.
Working together to find the reason for their mission, a sister of one of the members of the crew, Noori and the Crew begin a courtship born from desire, duty and need.
Because this crew has a pact. One that will rock its very foundations if it’s not handled correctly… And Evan Noori is now the focus of Ghost Crew 231.
I wasn’t paying attention to page count and suddenly it was the end. Completely hooked and I can’t wait for more. I was thinking it was a stand alone because I’m clearly not paying attention to anything but that just means I get more. And I definitely want more of Evan and her guys. Especially Foster. I loved the pacing of the story. Still enjoying this new and different world.
I really enjoyed the book, though, I thought - because it wasn't mentioned otherwise - that it would be like the first a standalone. But it wasn't, and the second part to Noori's story isn't out yet. Don't get me wrong. It's good, that there is more. During the read I was afraid this is one of the stories that favored some guys over the others and in the end the rest will be added hastily. So, I'm glad this was just the beginning. And there are still a lot of questions open. So, a second book is great.
But it should have been mentioned. Because I'm sure it isn't just me, who only reads finished series. A series of standalone is something different, because each book is finished in itself. But had I known, that there is more to come, I would have waited. I'm not a person, who likes or want to reread books after a longer time. Because I know I will forget details and stuff if the release of the next one is far away. That's why I read each series in one go, so I don't have to do that. But ok.
Otherwise, the story was interesting and great. I liked seeing the main characters from book one again. And it's still on the tamer side. And I'm still not a huge fan of the third-person perspective. But it's again written personal, and we get the feelings and all, without being told too much. The world around them especially intrigued me.
I bought the books in the first place, because it's monsters in it, with a unique twist and new view. After Omegaverse I would say it's second what I read most. And normally I don't buy many books, because I have KU. But I already have read the most popular monster/Omegaverse books, and there isn't much more going on. I'm waiting on many releases. And that's it.
I really hope book three isn't far away. I'm looking forward to seeing how the relationships will play out between Noori and the rest of the guys. Galen especially, because he is the most in the background.
After the Fractal appeared in Earth making all the men to turn into different type of monsters shifters. The world is now divided by the Light Nations and the Bad Lands, were womens are being trafiqued to different leader's harems just to reproduce more powerful armies. But there are still those who fight to save them, and those are the Ghost Crew.
In this book we get to read about GC 321 who find a Evan Noori after she escaped one of the Calderas cells. The GC 321 team formed by Blue, Galen, Zeke, Milo and Foster immediatly forms a bond with her, and the start falling for her one by one after getting to know how a badass, sweet and smart woman she is.
This book is a slow burn but with good spice, action packed and good plot. We also get to see more of the different faction that are since the fractals.
This will be a duology and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. If you haven't read Marked by Monsters (First book of the Ghosts Crew, but it's read as a standalone) I really recommend you to do so. It's amazing and it give you a bit more of background of this amazing world building that Dagmar and Aurora are creating.
I was leery going into this book. The first one was “whoa, there be monsters” in a big fashion. This one was a little more on the tamer (I chuckle to myself when I type “tamer,” because there is nothing tame about these men) side of monsters and I am not sad about it. In true Reverse Harem style, Avery & Maris have taken multiple partners and turned them into only the best of romance novels. This story is still “monster,” but it really gets a bit deeper into the diverse types, and Evan Noori (Noori to those who know her best) finds her men amid a rescue on the style of that reminisces of The Expendables. Lots of explosions, running away from the bad guy, and a mansion that I want a look at even farther. This series is only going to get better, I understand there will be novellas, as well as some more full-length novels. I love the deep dive into The Fractals of the new age. If you are interested, I would suggest starting with Marked by Monsters, so you will have a better understanding.
Fractals = when they came to Earth, they either killed off men, or changed them into monsters.
ARC Review . So if you watched my video review then you already know the love I have for Captured by Ghosts, I think it topples my love for Sybelle and her men (and I love me some Thorn).
So just like Marked by Monsters, Captured by Ghosts is written in 3rd person point of view as well. Honestly I hate books written like this but Dagmar and Aurora write in such a way that you don’t realize that you are reading it in 3rd person point of view. It’s easy to tell which character you’re following and so forth.
In this book we follow Evan Noori who has been trafficked from her home in New Zealand as she fights to stay alive. Down the round we encounter 5 handsome strangers how are apart of Ghost Crew 231. These mens job is to recover women who have been trafficked and to take down the very people that traffic them.
Evan is supposed to go home after being recovered by these 5 strangers but she tags along for the ride to help others just like her.
Honestly I can’t wait to see what is in store next for Noori and these guys. You guys don’t want to miss this one!
This book was great it is a continuation of the world written about in Marked by Monsters however picks up many years after the first book. This book is focused on the first books character's son Blue and his crew(Milo, Foster, Zeke, and Galen). They make up Ghost Crew 231 and they help rescue trafficked women and are trying to take down bad guys around the world. They go to New Zealand in the beginning of this book and rescue Evan who has been trafficked but is still a bada** even with all the stuff she has been through; and can hold her own with the guys. What this book is building towards in the first part of this book is very intriguing. However like all good 2 part books this will undoubtedly be fleshed out and resolved in part 2 which I am super excited to read!! Overall the plot was well written and fast paced and the hot scenes were definitely 🔥 The characters are very well written and I can't wait to learn more about them in book 2!! Overall this was a wonderful book and I would definitely recommend to everyone ❤️
Ooh I love this world built by Dagmar and Aurora… I mean, being kidnapped and needing to be rescued like Noori, definitely not ideal. But when it’s by such sexy, doting men with fantastic, monstrous other halves? I’m all in, just like Noori. 😉 I’m enjoying getting to know the men of Ghost Crew 231 along with Noori and getting to see how they interact with her and each other. Their camaraderie feels so genuine and I loved how they push each other to be better, and provide unending support. I’m so glad this part of the Ghost Crew series is going to have two books, because I definitely need more of Noori, Milo, Foster, Blue, Zeke, and I suppose Galen too. 🤣
I enjoyed this. It takes place years after the fist book so definitely read that one first you have all the backstory. A FMC that doesn't fall directly into bed with all the love interests. Spicy times with the ones she does make that connection with. Definitely a lot more of the entire world in this one -took a lot more concentration to keep track of where the characters are at. I like that the harem is made up of different types of beings.
Really enjoyed the very different aspect to post apocalyptic fiction encompassing shifters, mythological beasts, monsters etc into a brilliant RH story! Look forward to the second book of Evan and her ghosts!
Oh this was a good read. I thought it was a standalone and was getting worried because we haven’t gotten Al the answers or gotten to know all the guys so happy there’s another book. I’m looking forward to it.
Evan Noori is one tough gal and I love it! Trafficked from her home in New Zealand, she is rescued by Ghost Crew 231 (who help rescue trafficked women and take down the villains of this world). Each of the men in the crew are a different line of monster/shifter and I love how unique they are! They keep her safe while completing the mission and eventually she returns with them to Brazil after finding one of her mates. While she doesn't have formal training, she can compete with the best of them & protect herself and it will be really fascinating to learn more of her backstory in the next book. She can definitely hold her own with this testosterone filled group!! Milo, Foster, Blue and Zeke absolutely dote on her (Galen is getting there haha) and the spicy scenes are amazing. I'm loving the plot of this book and I think Dagmar & Aurora are building an amazing world.
I cannot wait for the next book. I fell right into the story and did not want to put it down. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. I loved how you saw what Sybelle and her men were up to all these years later.
I kind of wanted to give it more stars, but the random switching of POV's in-between dialogue became annoying to keep track of. I was constantly pulled out of the story to try and figure out whose POV we were getting now.
OH MY GOD. I was worried because while it's the 2nd one in the series it's a spin off from the original story AND MY WORRIES WERE WRONG. I need the 2nd part to thus duet stat because I need my Blue.
Love, love, love this universe. This is book one of the Ghost Crew 231 story. It is set in the same universe as Marked by Monsters. One of the crew is Blue - Sybil, Atticus, Balthazar and Thorn’s son born at the end of Marked by Monsters. Ghost Crews rescue kidnapped women. The commander of GC231, Galen, is on a mission to rescue his sister, Lisa. While on the mission, they come across Evan Noori. Evan Noori is not just a rescue mission to GC231. Noori doesn’t know what hits her when she meets Milo, Foster, Galen, Zeke and Blue.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I adored Noori. She is rough around the edges and holds her own. Noori isn’t a gal that’s going down without a fight. Meeting the GC231, definitely throws her for a loop.
I loved seeing more of the other factions in this book. Blue is Monstera like his fathers, but the others are just as interesting and from factions that were briefly reference in MbM. I’m excited to continue learning about what makes each unique. I definitely need book two like yesterday - I want to see how their relationship with Noori progresses.
Superb continuation of the universe! There is so much to explore and I can’t wait to see where they take us!
Such a great book, I loved it! I really like Evan Noori; she might have been kidnapped but that hasn’t broken her. She’s strong, and determined; she’s pretty bad**s. Despite her circumstances, she’s unwilling to give up. When she stumbles across Ghost Crew 231 she’s not sure what to think of these sexy monsters. We’ve got Milo, Galen the grump, Zeke, Foster, and Blue, sigh, they are so delicious. They are amazing and I love learning about the other kinds of monsters. Evan is slowly creating her relationships with these guys, and it just feels right. They play off each other well and have some great connections. The guys are supportive not only of each other but of Evan too. There’s not as much spice as the first book in this series, but what there is, is delicious! I love myself some monster steaminess. I love the world these ladies were able to create, and I’m glad this is the first book in a new series; their story needs more than one book! I loved MbM, the first book in the series, and I can’t wait until these guys are all together in the same room. I'm so excited to see what happens next! 🖤
