We open at the Novoanskoye Forward Base in Siberia, Russia.

Aleksandra Zaryanova grew up in Novanskoye, and she wants to protect her home town. (She has cool pink hair, too.)

She and her team are fighting the Omnics who are destroying their land.

Suddenly, the Omnic forces breech their Northeastern front—the humans must retreat to protect the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Cole is persuasive; Zarya attempts to rebuff his recruitment attempts.

Good action scenes. Unfortunately, Zarya’s unique proficiency remains cloaked in mystery.

Blizzard. Com has a great game in this.

Good color artwork. What there is of it. These brief views of the over watch world are like 20 second commercials. Strange to see Russians given a positive spin. The rebirth of over watch is going well.

Great issue once again, Cassidy recruits Zarya this time, and we get a decent story and a solid issue overall.

Irene Koh, the artist on this series, is just amazing. Slowly falling in love with her art issue by issue, and you will too.

This comic book is an exceptional installment that have captivated me personally with its compelling narrative and stunning artwork. At the same time this comic book masterfully balances action, character development, and emotional depth, making it a standout in the series.

The story in this comic book continues to follow Cole Cassidy as he works to rebuild the Overwatch team. Fawkes excels in portraying Cassidy’s journey, delving into his struggles with leadership and the weight of his past. This issue highlights his growth, showcasing his determination and resilience as he faces both internal and external challenges.

One of the strengths of this comic book is its focus on character dynamics. Fawkes skillfully explores the relationships between Cassidy and his potential recruits, each encounter revealing new facets of their personalities. These interactions are rich with tension and camaraderie, providing insights into the complexities of forming a cohesive team. The dialogue is sharp and authentic, reflecting the characters’ histories and emotions while driving the narrative forward.

The artwork in this comic book is a visual treat, bringing the world of Overwatch to life with vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. The artwork has the ability to convey emotion through facial expressions and body language adds depth to the story, making each scene resonate with me personally.

The action sequences are particularly well-executed, capturing the energy and excitement that fans expect from the Overwatch universe.

The pacing of this comic book is expertly managed, blending fast-paced action with quieter, introspective moments. This balance ensures that the story remains engaging from start to finish, allowing me to fully invest in both the plot and the characters’ journeys. The seamless transition between high-stakes battles and personal reflections enhances the overall impact of the narrative.

The highlight of this comic book is its exploration of themes such as redemption, trust, and the importance of teamwork. Fawkes weaves these themes into the fabric of the story, providing depth and substance beyond the surface-level action. Cassidy’s journey serves as a reminder of the power of second chances and the strength found in unity.
