Rose Methany grew up on Whiskey River Road along with all the other Calhouns. Ranching was all they ever wanted. She had different dreams, yet she loved the cowboy way of life. Not to mention one specific ruggedly handsome cowboy she secretly fancied years ago. He moved to California, and she moved on with her life—until he shows up out of the blue with his dark, amber-specked eyes, muscled body, and plenty of swagger in his city boy suit. He’d been a bad boy all those years ago, and she wasn’t about to let him derail her now.
Dodge Anderson loved his city life. He’d become a ruthless businessman, gathering his wealth off of other people’s dreams. His next conquest is a woman he used to know. The only woman who’d ever set his heart on fire and scorched him at the same time. All he wants now is money and someone to straddle occasionally.
Rose’s vineyard is off and running, and she has big plans. Dodge’s aim is to buy the vineyard for a low price and sell high to one of his investors. But then he laid eyes on Rose again. He’d forgotten how spirited and gorgeous she was with her fiery red hair. Dodge would have to put his feelings for her aside for his cocky ego in order to get what he wanted, which was her business…not the girl. Or so he told himself.
Can the country girl and the city boy find a middle ground to work out their true feelings for one another, or will they let the vineyard derail their hearts?
The last book in the Whiskey River Road Series will feature every Calhoun. No questions left unanswered.
Armed with books in the crook of my elbow, I can go anywhere. That’s my philosophy! Better yet, I’ll write the books that will take me on an adventure.
My heroes are a bit broken but will make you swoon. My heroines are their own kick-ass characters armed with humor and a plethora of sarcasm.
If I’m not tucked away in my writing den, with coffee firmly gripped in hand, you can find me with a book propped on my pillow, a pit bull lying across my legs, a Lab on the floor next to me, and two kittens running amuck.
My current adventure has me living in Idaho with my own gray-bearded hero, who’s put up with my shenanigans for over thirty years, and he doesn’t mind all my book boyfriends. If you love romance, suspense, military men, lots of action and adventure infused with emotion, tear-worthy moments, and laugh-out-loud humor, dive into my books and let the world fall away at your feet. I have so loved this series! I’m sad this is the last book. Who knows though when the characters will talk to Ms. Moore again and she will surprise us! Rose is one stubborn, independent woman! I loved what she had done with the winery. But the winery is what brought Dodge back to town. He had made millions working in California buying company’s and selling them for more money. He was sent to buy Rose’s winery. I loved that Rose stuck to her gun’s and said she would never sell the winery and didn’t care how much money anyone offered her. That same connection the two had when they met years back was still there. I loved watching the two get to know each other and make changes in their lives. There are other stories from the Calhoun family that come to a conclusion. I have to say you will need Kleenex while reading if you feel as close to this family as I did. There are some suspenseful times that go on too. I can’t say how much I loved the book, and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Reading this book was bittersweet knowing it is the ending of the series. I have come to love the Calhoun family. The primary theme in each book is family comes first. All the members rally to help and support each other. There is a loss in this book. This is Rose's book. She was able to fulfill her dreams of opening a winery. Tucker's brother Dodge returns to Whiskey River Road with his sight on Rose and her winery. The family stayed on alert for Rossi's threat of revenge. There are twists and turns with angst, grief, joy and a HEA for Rose. Thank you Ms. Moore for providing me with many hours of delight and love of the characters. I will miss Whiskey River Road.
This was the best ending a series could ever ask for. Not only did the reader get a beautifully romantic story for Rose and Dodge, but Kelly Moore gave them insight into how the rest of the family we started the series with grew with their own HEAs. All of our favorites living the lives we only hoped they would get to. And for Dodge and Rose - it is never a bad thing when the city slicker comes back to his roots, put back on his cowboy boots and falls in love. I had a smile on my face from the opening pages!!
I’m not crying, you’re crying. In true Whiskey River fashion, you’re taken on a wild ride of Calhoun crazy. I never thought I’d see it all come to an end. But the story that started out with Clem Calhoun has wrapped up and given me the warm fuzzies. Sure, I was sad to see some go but new family members make this the best kind of ending. I’ll look forward to a new beginning of some kind from Kelly Moore. 5 stars!!!
What an awesome conclusion to this series. Loved all of the characters Kelly Moore brought to life thru this series. Glad to see the Calhoun family grown and expand. Great job.
For honest Review. Dodge Anderson is back in salt lick to see his family and also do business only rose methany going to show him the errors of his ways the Calhoun way. I love this family and characters I also love how they deal with vermin that cross their family.lol this story will have you laughing ,crying, rooting for them and so much more . I always love opening one of Kelly Moore's books and getting lost in the story . Fantastic 10 stars.
This was a great book! Some tears so have some tissues especially if you have read the whole series. So sad it’s over! It’s your typical Calhoun book-family, ranching, people trying to bully the Calhouns, sassy, grumpy and love.
This book was bittersweet. It tied up all the loose ends from all the Calhouns but it was also the end of the series. I absolutely loved reading about the Calhoun family. They may have fought and bickered but they had each other’s backs. This book mostly centered around Rose and her man to be Dodge but we get to see all of the Calhouns throughout the story. Get out your tissues and dive in.
I am sad to see the Calhoun's stories over with but this was a wonderful way to end the series. Rose has grown to be an independent and strong woman who believes her vineyard is all she needs. That is until a blast from the past comes back to Kentucky.
Dodge has his life mapped out and is a killer in his role of buying and selling companies. He never wanted to be his father's son or a cowboy ever again. That is until he sees Rose again.
With battling each other and then a madman on the loose, life is in upheaval for the whole Calhoun family. A sudden and sad event puts them all on the same page.
I adore the banter and wit between Rose and Dodge. I felt a sense of loss within the story. I cheered the outcome of the danger and how they faced their enemies.
While I will miss Whiskey River Road and all of these folks, I am pleased to have taken the journey. Thank you Kelly Moore for letting us be a part of this.
Rose is a little firecracker! I love watching her tame Dodge. This is the end of the series which is a little sad. I would like to have seen Rose and Dodge have a house full of kids since they were the couple who started out not wanting any. Clem is a great character and she pulls all the threads together. I'm looking forward to the spin off series, Whiskey River West.
The end of a fabulous series! Really hated to see it end!😢. But what a great ending it is.😁 We have almost everyone's viewpoint. Rossi makes his final appearance. The romance between Dodge and Rose is the central story. As usual with this series, there is suspense, danger, and of course love making. A nice wrap-up at the end. Wonderful series and I recommend it to everyone!
This series was absolutely amazing. I felt so many emotions while reading through the 10 books. . I loved it. Hands down would recommend to those who love romance, drama, western type books.
Good book to close out series. Definitely have to read earlier books to grasp the story. Loved how author used the epilogue to give closure to each fam.
