Perché una volta era parte di te. A Yokohama i ragazzi dell’Agenzia di Detective Armati sono attesi da una notte da incubo.
This was so awesome! I loved seeing everyone fight their abilities- especially Akutagawa and Rashomon! Chuuya really knows how to make an entrance, I love him!
I usually have an issue with silly logic and too much chaos in mangas, but for some reason I do not have a problem with it in BSD and kind of go with the flow, which is just as well, especially for this volume.
Since it's been a few weeks from the last time I read part of this series, it took me about ten seconds to remember who everyone was, but I'd completely forgotten that Atsushi and Kyouka were a couple (as far as I'm aware). They look good together; the quiet girl with a dark past and the protective gunman who truly cares. I'd love to see their relationship develop later in the series! When it was revealed Kyouka was once a part of another rival mafia branch that was known to kill people, that absolutely blew my mind! I know I should've seen that plot twist coming, but I didn't see it even ten miles away, which is both amusing and embarrassing. I enjoyed the twist of (get ready for this spoiler alert!) how one can have their Skills, but when their Skills are used against them, their powers can kill them, too. I get that might not make sense, but let me explain - - This is a Tokyo-like reimagining where everyday people have Skills; talents that are basically superpowers that can be deadly to even the Skills' owners. Think of it like this - - I'm a great crocheter. Crocheting takes on a life of its own. Crocheting then kills me, whether it's from my hooks stabbing me or my yarn strangling me. It's like that analogy with talents that are called Skills. Does that make sense? When Kyouka revealed her Skill took on a life of its own and killed her mother, my heart broke for her, but it also added to the list of reasons for why Kyouka is the way she is. The scene where she nearly died and got to see her mother one last time before Atsushi saved her made me tear up! I could feel through the pages how much Atsushi loves Kyouka and wants her to be alive as long as he is. I've never thought at great length of the concept Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple has - - a world where talents are basically superpowers that can be used to heal or hurt and take on lives of their own. I might have had reservations about this series just before diving into the first book, but I don't anymore! I'm 1,000% invested in this series and want an anime now! By the way, if there's an anime adaptation of the Bungo Stray Dogs series, I don't know about it yet, so please let me know if there is one in the comments section! I'll be an otaku who is forever grateful! Thank you in advance!
chapter 4 atushi: we don't need to kill him kyouka: righttttt sure fyodor! i'm giggling
chapter 5 roshomon and the tiger fighting on sight lmao. what i want to know is how akutagawa knew that defeating a skill returns it back to its owner and he was scoffing like that was common knowledge. atushi "we don't kill anyone" and yet let francis fall a million feet from the sky into the ocean. also akutagawa is so delusional he'd never be able to kill dazai. rats in the house of the dead is so fascinating to me bc it really feels like fyodor is doing all the work here (what does pushkin accomplish besides canniablism arc and what does ivan do except be whipped for fyodor and nathaniel is just brainwashed and mushitaro doesn't exactly do much until s4).
chapter 6 akutagawa's monologue fighting roshomon is so good i don't remember if it was in the LN but it def was not in the movie. casually pulls out a grenade from his coat.
chapter 7 demon snow handing kyouka her phone that's the best scene personally. once again how does akutagawa know why atsushi's skill hasn't returned. yeah chuuya whoop whoop and all that. but i personally want to know his thoughts on the whole oda/ango/mimic incident. like he was literally in the mafia when it happened; surely he knows it's the reason dazai left. i want to know if he ever interacted with oda or ango, pls give me more backstory asagiri (loathe as i am to read more dark era).
Everyone in this damn series has too much aura omfg it drives me insane.
Akutagawa, Atsushi, and Kyouka are all fighting their skills and I bet right about now is a very unfortunate time to have such powerful skills because omg they were fighting for their damn lives legit.
Anytime Akutagawa and Atsushi have to team up I just start giggling and kicking my feet because I love their interactions so much.😭
I don't know what the hell Dazai is even doing right now besides hanging out with the mysterious bad guys, wearing a new fit, and looking hot.
Chuuya also just coming in with unmatched aura, telling the government people the business.🤌
Obsessed with the art style like I'm not delulu- they made everyone look extra pretty.
ANGO DO PIECA. Też szkoda że tu najważniejsi są Aku, Atsushi i Kyouka, czyli trzy najmniej ulubione przeze mnie postacie snsns. Fiodor to stan umysłu. Muszę przeczytać tom 1 żeby zobaczyć retrospekcje z Odą. MUSZĘ BO KOCHAM ODE. Polecam fanom BSD. 5/5 ofc.

A really good adaptation of the film and the light novel, with lovely art by Gun_Zi. I really wish they'd gotten this mangaka for 15 Years... Ah well. Looking forward to volume 3, since this ends at a good place!
Solid four stars, i really enjoyed this second volume i can't wait for the next volumes. Who knew how good of an idea it was to make an manga version of Dead Apple. Dazai be stealing the show in this series.
