Hans Christian Andersen (often referred to in Scandinavia as H.C. Andersen) was a Danish author and poet. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales. Andersen's popularity is not limited to children; his stories — called eventyr, or "fairy-tales" — express themes that transcend age and nationality.

Andersen's fairy tales, which have been translated into more than 125 languages, have become culturally embedded in the West's collective consciousness, readily accessible to children, but presenting lessons of virtue and resilience in the face of adversity for mature readers as well. Some of his most famous fairy tales include "The Little Mermaid", "The Ugly Duckling", "The Nightingale", "The Emperor's New Clothes" and many more. His stories have inspired plays, ballets, and both live-action and animated films.

Le daría más puntuación por la belleza de las historias de Andersen, pero esta edición es pésima, con varios párrafos que no tienen relación entre sí. Se nota que cortaron partes enteras de los cuentos y en ocasiones cuesta entender qué pasó en la trama...

Sinceramente no me gustó nada el libro. Sentí que me costó un mundo leerlo (y eso que es corto), porque no me gustaron, ni los cuentos, ni la forma en la que a veces en algunos textos se veían algunos dichos, o insinuaciones racistas, o de otro carácter.

Lo percibí, aburrido, crudo, y discriminador.

Sin dudas es un libro que no le recomendaría a nadie.

Pd: También me faltó decir que, me fastidió mucho el cómo el autor escribió los cuentos, pues a veces sentía que se podía pasar páginas describiendo todo el paisaje, cosa que a mí por lo menos me desagrada bastante.

Debo de admitir que de los 10 cuentos, hay unos muy completos con muchos giros y acontecimientos, es increíble pero me gustaría que fueran mucho mas detallados.

Hay varios cuentos epeciales para leerse en octubre - noviembre, donde el tiempo lo amerita por sus -sorpresivamente- descripciones crudas y oscuras.

Eso sí, prepárense para los sermones religiosos.
