Fun followup to the two parter with Nightwing. Jon and Dick's relationship is really solid, great mentorship, while also relating to each other. I'm excited to see them team up some more down the line.

🤔🤗 Torn between... Superman fights crime with his Dick... Or... The Comic Authority has finally approved Dick. Too late for Batman Damned, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🤣
Ok, for real. LOVE everything about this. How can a comic make you laugh and cry and pull all the feels in one issue?? And for characters not even in it like Alfred and Damian? Who headbutts Superman? A dude with a He-Man haircut. Who saves Dick? No one cuz he doesn't need to be saved. Who are the super villain construction crews? (Probably dead guys, but since we don't get an answer just look at history - the people who built Genghis Khan's tomb were sealed inside with him... No secrets to betray if no one lives to tell them.) Ok, that got dark. Onto a brighter note then. This is the perfect team up. Their attitudes and humor are totally in sync, and they're both emotionally intelligent men who read each other in the moment and don't miss a beat. They're equals one minute and a boy and his mentor the next. And then Jay walls through a wall and you see what real love looks like from 3 different angles amidst onion-sized layers of confusion. I wish this title and Nightwing could just continue forever.

Continued from my Goodreads review of Nightwing (2016-) #89
Nightwing taking Jon under his wing by taking on the role as mentor is the character coming to full circle. As stated earlier, Clark played a huge role in Dick becoming Nightwing, it is only proper he returns the favor by guiding a new Superman who is finding himself a bit overwhelmed by taking on the role his father passed on to him.
Dick has always been a great mentor. Even enfant terrible Damain Wayne acknowledges him as his favorite partner.

I still continue to be look warm on this issue and it's officially been on my list to drop from my pull list, but having said that, issue #9 was a solid issue even though I hadn't read part 1 of the 2 part crossover with Nightwing.
A trio of villians sent presumably by Bendix are hassling Nightwing and after one of the baddies dies our hero gets blamed for the death.
The Truth and a mainstream journalist agree to prove our heroes innocents.
Pretty straightforward and definitely enjoyable.
Guess I'll be pulling for atleast 1 more issue!

As much as I despise crossovers that pop up and ask you to buy or read a series that you don't typically read, this was a great read. To preface, I DID NOT read the Nightwing issue that was part one of this crossover and I still loved this issue. The dialogue between the two sons of icons was fantastic and villain angle in this one was believable and is bringing all the good guys together. Very excited for the next arc.

Incredible once again from Tom Taylor omg YES!!! Definitely one of my favourite comic crossovers I’ve ever read AND CAN I JUST SAY I think Redondo’s artwork suits Jon so incredibly well it drives me insane?? Just an amazing look for these characters!! I absolutely love seeing these two characters interact and I hope this partnership can continue!!

I love a crossover issue that can be read standalone. Dick and Jon have an excellent dynamic. I really hope Taylor commits to this mentorship and we get to see them become active supporting characters in each others' ongoings.

I keep considering dropping this title then an issue like this comes along. It must be the guest appearances. First is was Damian. Now it's Nightwing. Hopefully the cycle ends soon one way or another.

Am I a bit biased? Yes. Do I care? Not really. This is easily becoming a great series and I can’t wait to see where it goes with the Rising, Lois joining the Truth, and Nightwing being Jon’s new mentor.

Nicely done; Nightwing steps into mentor Jon. Artist Bruno Redondo and team delivers quiet, emotional and humorous panels effectively, with subtle facial expressions drawn without needless Sunday funnies exaggeration (as some artists seem only capable of doing).

Quick someone give Jon a hug!
You really think throwing Dick off a building will work?
Protecting them with a stuffed Mammoth
Annoying it's a crossover and have to switch series or it's just a dead end
