100 Disney Adventures of a Lifetime: Magical Experiences Around the World by Marcy Carriker Smothers published by Disney Books is available now. It is the perfect coffee table book for a Disney fan like me. ☺️
100 Disney Adventures of a Lifetime is approximately 400 pages, and it’s packed with beautiful full-page photographs showing after hours magical events and resorts around the world.
I’m completely awestruck by this book! I’m checking off what I have seen and done at Disney, and I’m making a Disney to-do list. 🤗 Because this book inspires me to travel 🧳 There are many Disney adventures around the globe that I have yet to see and do. 🌏
Disney fans will marvel at all the beautiful experiences that Disney has to offer. It offers details along with stunning photos about the parks here and around the world, dining experiences, VIP tours, and so many hidden gems. This is a staple for every Disney lover!
From the start, readers are captivated by the stunning photos. When people say that Disney offers magical experiences, they aren't lying. The images are vivid and the history makes it even more enticing.
I have been and will always be a Disney fan and I still feel like I learned so many things just from reading this book. Readers get to know about Walt Disney and how so much of him is incorporated into every park. It's so fun to see how far Disney reaches. There are so many parks around the world and even adventures like cruises and mountain adventures. Disney is so innovative and thinks about everything.
I give 100 Disney Adventures of a Lifetime 5 stars. It provides all the insider information you always wished you knew. It's perfect for helping plan your next adventure with Disney. I will be keeping this book on my coffee table.
Buncha good pictures, plenty of Disney-stuff and Disney-adjacent travel suggestions. Fun fact, learned that Mandarin is known as Putonghua when the Jungle Cruise article told that Hong Kong Disneyland has cruises in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
Now I have about 100 more Disney experiences to add to my bucket list. Some are sweet & simple and close to home and others are exotic and far-flung and may just be a "wish upon a star"for right now. A beautiful book, full of large bright color photos and well researched & written.
Definitely seemed like a marketing tool for the first bit, but I loved all of the talk about conservation efforts and international travel tours. There were also so many beautiful pictures!!
The essential guide for the hard-core Disney Park fanatic!
National Geographic has published an amazing and colorful guide to adventures in Disney Parks for the most seasoned Disney Park traveler as well as the first timer. This book provides adventurers with different options at all parks, not just those in the United States. The book is separated into five categories: 1) Fun for All Ages, 2) Activities for the Tame and Daring, 3) Vacations and Excursions Around the Globe, 4) From Counter Service to White Tablecloth Dining, and 5) Once-in-a-Lifetime Splurges.
For me, I know the Florida parks pretty well and the California parks decently, but there are whole other experiences I had no idea existed in Paris, Tokyo and Shanghai. If Disney Parks are your thing, you need to get this book so that you can plan out those once or twice in a lifetime trips to the other Parks. Whether for a ride, show, or dining experience, this book has you covered!
The pictures throughout this book are incredible and make readers want to get on a plane today to try out several of these adventurers. Remember, you’re never too young or old to being an adventure today!
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
To Disney or not to Disney ... For some people, is this even a question?
First, this is not your typical travel book. Looking for specific locations, contact info, prices, the best times to go, what to wear, etc? This is not your book.
Rather, these are EXPERIENCES from around the world that may be enjoyed by people of all ages. For each experience, the reader is given the name of the experience, along with a one page essay describing the experience, and on the opposite page, a color photograph relating to the experience.
Sprinkled throughout the book are pieces of History about Walt Disney, his home, etc.
I'm not sure what else might be wrong, but on page 16, where the author is talking about the places that inspired Disney, in her mentions about Hawaii, she talks about the islands of Kaua'i and Honolulu. Anybody see the problem? Last time I checked, Honolulu was a CITY on the island of OAHU, and truthfully, I expected better from National Geographic, the Publisher of this book.
Still, if you are looking for ideas for a different Disney adventure, this is a good place to start.
Walt and Roy Disney founded what became the Walt Disney Company on October 16, 1923. The Walt Disney Company is celebrating "100 Years of Wonder" all year long and there are several books published for the occasion, including this one (published October 2022, a full year ahead of the actual anniversary).
Here are 100 Disney related experiences, including things to do at the various theme parks, resorts, on cruise ships, related to Walt Disney's life (visit his birthplace, hometown, or the carousel where he took his daughters), and joint expeditions with National Geographic. I learned some things, and as always am impressed with the Imagineers who design these attractions and the Cast Members who cheerfully staff them while dealing with misbehaving tourists, but my overall impression was "too expensive, how could anyone afford a fraction of these trips?" Disney has taken over the world...is there anywhere you can go now that isn't Disney related?
This book was so informative of everything Disney World from each part of the world where a Disney park is located to trips you can take with National Geographic or if you interested in living the Disney life away from the parks, you can visit iconic spots around the world that played a role in Disney history. My boyfriend & I ended up using the book for future vacation & bucket list planning for us to do in the future!
Everyone in my life knows how obsessed with Disney I am. This book was not only everything Disney but was partnered with National Geographic to inform readers all about different trips you can take all around the world with the company! My boyfriend is not a big Disney fan but a lot of the tours, secrets, & NG trips caught his interest so for both of us to fall in love with the book was amazing!
This year, The Walt Disney Company is celebrating their 100th Anniversary dubbed as 100 Years of Wonder.
National Geographic joins in on the celebration by listing down 100 Disney Adventures of a Lifetime in this magical book.
This is a must-have for Disney fans as it is such a comprehensive list of Disney related adventures that’s more than just Disneyland Parks. (Though of course, Disneyland adventures are part of the book!)
After finishing the book, I am grateful that I’ve accomplished 22/100 adventures listed in the book.
There are still more adventures that I am excited to try out soon.
Some of the adventures are free. Others may remain on a wish list for a long time. But there is something for everyone.
The perfect coffee table book for Disney lovers. There is so much more to Disney than the theme parks! You will learn about the history of Walt Disney himself, as well as everything else there is to the Walt Disney Company such as Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, the theme parks, and more. This one touches on a little bit of everything and is such an easy and light read. (Plus the photography included is absolutely stunning).
A very interesting and absorbing read covering a range of Disney adventures that one can explore, including food experiences, places to visit around the world, rides, hotels and historical sites. Lots of photographs, facts and details to keep interest. I particularly liked the snippets of quotes by Walt. If you are interested in Walt Disney and the Disney parks, you will enjoy this book. It makes me want to try some of the experiences suggested and revisit some I have experienced already.
I love Disney and this book gave me a good Disney fix. The photos are beautiful as is expected from the National Geographic. I found out a lot of things "available" in, around and through Disney that I never was aware of. Yes, as some reviewers have indicated it can come across as an ad for Disney -- but isn't almost everything Disney does an ad for something else Disney does? Doesn't bother a true Disney lover!! A fun, easy read that will make a Disney lover want to plan their next trip and those who aren't as familiar with Disney may find something they would enjoy doing.
A must have book for any extreme Disney World/Land/Experience fan. Take a sneak peek into behind the scenes of all the parks and cruises and things that let's face it...you probably won't do. So go ahead and fill your bucket list, or at least plan your next Disney World trip and enjoy the magic.
Reads like a travel brochure, I felt I was already familiar with 90% of what was discussed. Pictures however are very nice. It did motivate me to look into some experiences I didn’t know much about. All in all a good read.
This is a wonderful book for any Disney Fan. It has so much information. I was blown away on the information that it had. It is a great table top book for display.
This was a strange book with wonderful photos. The book basically is a giant advertisement for Disney parks and experiences. The book is fun but it felt like a very overproduced guidebook to me.
