I commend Arielle Nyssa for sharing her personal story. I have a Christian world view and I could relate to the many struggles she had in the church. Having said that, I think that the secular system (social media, makeup industry and the movie industry is always chipping away at our self worth). I will honor each and every person and their belief system. It’s a tough world out there and I for one want to help as many females as I can. Gender equality is still a thing. How we feel we don’t measure up because of whatever media is is an epidemic.
Did I agree with everything she said? No. Do I think this was helpful? Yes.
About the book: It’s a journal of sorts with great ideas about daily or monthly planners. And she shared her story, thank you Arielle for that and I loved what you said on the very last page! Brilliant! Xx
She talked about:
• Body image
• Gender
• Trigger Words
• Marketing influence
• Our mindset
• Forgiving ourselves
• Thankfulness
• Trusting ourselves
• Positive relationships
• Be your true self

Loved her honesty in this book and sharing her life. I also loved the activities set out in the book for me to complete to understand myself more.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

If you have ever felt like you just need to sit with yourself - this is a great book for you. Ariella Nyssa's Self-love Bible is a fantastic publication full of great resources, gorgeous and gentle illustrations and imagery, and the space to sit and breathe and explore oneself.

This book is a journey. It is a workbook. It is a resource. And in the truest self it is a bible for your journey in self-love. It doesn't shy away from the tough stuff. But on the same page it is gentle - offering trigger warnings when tough personal exploration are involved in activities and approaching everything with a voice of openness and acceptance. People are all different, in life and in our struggles. This is a book that recognizes that. It is something to keep with you, to work through at your own pace, and I have no doubt it will also be a book to revisit and reflect on many times over. An absolute worthy investment.

Note: As a reader who has struggled with mental health, body image and past trauma concerns, I consider this an #ownvoice review. I recommend this book with these lived experiences in mind.

It feels weird to rate and review a book that's clearly written by the author for the author herself. I appreciate Ariella's raw honesty and courage in sharing about her life. In this nonfiction guide book, she opens up about her childhood, marriage, divorce, faith as well as past hurts and struggles. It's also filled with useful activities and exercises meant to help readers work through their pain and baggage.

Unfortunately, this was just an okay read for me. I found the content quite dry and it didn't hold my interest. A large part is also due to the fact that I read a digital arc on my phone. I think my reading experience and enjoyment level would be vastly different if I read a hardcopy and partook in the aforementioned exercises.

Nevertheless, Ariella is an inspiring figure and I'm so glad she is where she is today.

Thank you to Murdoch Books and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

I have loved this book. Worked my way through this like a journal or workbook type of thing. Lots of activities that help you understand yourself better. Definitely would recommend this book for people struggling with body image issues, identity issues, or just self love/confidence issues. Every time I read this book I feel good about myself and empowered. Great workbook more than just a reading type of book.

Although I am not familiar with this author she is clearly beautiful inside and out and this book is a brutally honest book and journal to make you look at your body in a kind way and celebrate everything even your imperfections.

I’ve lost interest in this, self help books just aren’t for me even though I despise everything about myself lol, it’s a slay tbh
I think this could be great for a lot of people, it doesn’t make sense to read it digitally like I did as there is many interactive elements. I think the author is a fab person and I have a lot of respect for her.
