ok i finished it, this light novel starts where the anime stopped so i’m glad i was able to read through with no worries about if i missed anything that the anime didn’t cover
bro the second female love character (turned into male lead’s best friend) is literally autistic like from reading her perspective and experiences, she’s literally on the spectrum
this book focused more on the relationship between the male lead and the now turned female best friend, about navigating where they stand and what they’re comfortable with and i actually respect them reaching to the point where even if the love is unrequited, that they’re able to continue being friends and it’s no hard feelings
i still want to see the development between the male lead and his ex, cuz literally this story is basically “i can’t get over my ex” and i’m literalllyyyyy a main character for this type of series

What is the goal of this series? If it is supposed to make me want the Irido siblings get back together, then it has failed. I have no desire for that outcome. Yume is too manipulative and selfish, and Mizuto is too foolish and indecisive. They had their shot, so why would I want to see this drawn out now that they are siblings. Isana is the best character in this series and honestly too good for it. Not sure if I even want to read more of this. That aside, Mizuto's visit to the Higashira household made this volume worthwhile.
Yume and Mizuto are still trying to figure out what their relationship is, not to mention what they feel for each other. Plus there is the ongoing saga of Mizuto and Higashira which is getting even more complicated as Mizuto’s parents have gotten the impression that she is his girlfriend. And then there is the ongoing Akatsuki and Kogure storyline that keeps getting entwined with Yume and Mizuto’s. So more fun all around!
The author of the series is beginning to really focus on the side characters and their stories while developing them to a level almost at the same tier as the main characters. The story is heavily focused on Isana Higashira but shows development for Akatsuki Minami and Kogure Kawanami as well. The main characters have a little bit of material but it's more so focused on something similar to a side story.
