Almost Perfect #6

Enticing Luke

Rate this book
He had some questions…and she gave all the wrong answers.

Luke’s learned the hard way that a pretty face gets him nothing but trouble. His solution? A series of questions to use as a dating screener. The woman with the right answers would be perfect, except for one tiny problem. Madison Anderson, the woman he really wants, the one who makes him laugh and can rock a bikini better than most on Boca Raton’s beaches, just failed the test. Miserably.

Madison is hardly oblivious to her new neighbor, Luke Bennet. A sexy construction worker with sun-kissed hair and an easy smile that makes her melt? Yes please. But it’s not like she’s going gaga over him like the other women in her condo building.

And since she’s engaged, anything between them will have to be strictly as friends... even if every one of her senses is sending her messages that they want so much more.

The rules for love are about to be rewritten in the sixth book in the Almost Perfect series!

Not enticing at all.
I couldn't get into this book from the start. Luke lives in his aunt's retirement condo complex and when he first meets Madison - who was very bitchy - I assumed she was an older woman that lives there. Come to find out she is his age and there are several other young people living there as well. Not a good impression to start for me.
Luke is dorky but not in a cute way, a wannabe douchey way. He's supposed to be some big ladies man but I just don't see it.
Madison is annoying, pushy, flirty but claims she's not (she has a fiance). Very unstable. She gets very angry with Luke because his company is building a new complex in a park she likes. She acts like it's a personal affront to her.
I don't really like either of them actually. I just don't feel any chemistry with these two and couldn't get on board with whatever they had/have/building whatever.
The only bright spot in the book were the old ladies in the building that were all gaga over Luke and always asking him for favors and repaid him with food. They were funny old broads.

(I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hidden Gems)

I love Madison's passion for all animals, especially Marine animals in this story. Luke is a sweet handsome guy who gets himself into a heap of trouble causing issues with a client. Luke is sent to live at his aunt's condo because of his choices, the complex if full of elderly people. Luke has devised a series of questions to screen potential dates since his last encounter. However, Luke was not expecting to fall for the marine scientist who checks none of his screener questions. Madison definitely notices the handsome construction worker who just moved into her complex, Luke makes her melt, however she's engaged to a Auzie. This story is so much fun to read, its sweet, caring, adorable, sexy and hilarious. I love the banter between all the elderly and Luke, and Madison. I love Harold and Coop, they are so adorable, especially high. I love the banter, the teasing and chemistry between them all. If I could give this story more than a five I definitely would. Luke, Madison, Coop, Harold and all the elderly woman of the Regency Palms are so much fun to read, I will definitely miss them.

Luke and Madison's Story . . .

To protect himself from repeating mistakes in past relationships, Luke Bennett created a list of questions to screen any potential dates. It turns out to be a waste of time since his neighbor Madison is the woman he is interested in, but she has failed all of his questions. Besides that, she is engaged when he first meets her, so he should not have even worried about testing her.

I enjoyed the seniors in the condo who kept him busy with their little fix-it projects. He was so soft-hearted that everyone knew he would say yes and help. The story line was cute. The characters were amusing and likable for the most part. Grab your copy and see if he makes up a new test for Madison or if the two of them will just give in to their feelings and try for a relationship.

The intensity between the characters, Luke and Madison, was great. The sparks that flew that both were suppressing from the moment they first met were well-portrayed, and I highly enjoyed this read.

It could have been a little longer – there were 12 chapters, though they had quite a few pages in between. Still, it was a quick read that really drew me in. The Big Fight between the two made sense, though I hoped there had been some allusions towards their arguments to set that moment up better, otherwise I liked it.

While some parts of the book were a little scattered and some other things felt out-of-place, the characters were fun and it’s hard to put this down after you’ve picked it up.

I received a free ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Madison is a marine biologist, who is engaged to a scientist working in Australia. They have been apart for nearly a year. Luke is a project manager for his family’s construction business. Luke is serving penance in Florida with his family after an embarrassing situation with a married woman. They find themselves living in a condominium complex on a Florida beach, with mostly quirky senior citizen neighbors. This story has cute dogs, a growing friendship, funny interfering neighbors, and a losing battle against attraction on the way to the HEA. Very enjoyable romance story with some adult heat. Recommended. I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Madison liked her new neighbor Luke a construction worker who is hot as anything but she is engaged.
This is cute, sweet, steamy and funny. I really enjoyed the witty comebacks and the flirting that goes on between Luke and Madison. Had me laughing several times.
This was well written, not so much as dramatic but had an intensity. If only she hadn't been engaged.
This is a delightful story that was fun and great to read.
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.

Enticing Luke by Lisa Lanay

I am new to this author but I must say I’m a fan. This book was good. Loved Luke and Maddison. It was a fun easy book to read and enjoyed it, the only negative is it was a bit of scattered at times for me and I just have a bit of a problem connecting fully when the books are written in third person. Look forward to reading more from this author.

This is my first book by Lanay, so I hate to be too hard on her. It was a slow start and involved too many silly characters to suit me; however, basically it was a cute plot, once I got into the meat of it. I actually put it down early in the book, intending not to read it, but because I liked Luke, I decided to finish it.

My lord... where to start?

OK, Luke is fine, I suppose. Standard fare for douchebag city.
Madison... What the hell is wrong with that woman? Seriously, nothing is good enough for her and she acts like her attraction to Luke is his fault.

Couldn't finish it.

I enjoyed the banter between them but got annoyed when they had their inner dialogues about why they could just be friends over and over again. When there was a misunderstanding they each called and texted but apparently neither read them.

This is about Luke and Madison. And a bunch of senior citizens. I fell in love with this book in the 1st chapter. It is funny and romantic all on one. It is a must read.

lovely book

It was wonderful watching Madison and Luke fall in love and navigate the relationship to get there. The “observing” ladies was a hoot!
