My entire life I was certain of one thing: vampires were the enemy. Then I met him and let my guard down. That witty banter, those mischievous eyes and gorgeous smile lulled me into complacency. Now I was a prisoner, captured by the very vampire who was responsible for my parents’ death. The rebel king wants to use my wolf to take down the Royal queen, but I refuse to become his assassin.
With the help of an unlikely ally, I manage to break free. A normal person with a target on their back would hide, but that’s not my thing. I’m going back to get my revenge even if that means partnering up with a stupidly attractive vampire. This time, I won’t fall for his advances despite the mystical bond pulling us together.
Between unearthing family secrets, battling fangers, and squashing unwanted advances from a certain vampire, things go from bad to worse. There’s a war coming, and as it turns out, I’m the key to stopping it.
Because surprise, surprise, there’s someone far scarier than the rebel king out there, and he wants me. *** This is an upper YA/NA crossover with schmexy, sinful vampires and is best suited for ages 17+. Be warned this is a slow burn enemies-to-lovers romance, and the steaminess factor does increase through the course of the series! ♥
*** Vampish is set within the world of Azar, along with (in reading order) Hitched, Darkblood Academy, Royally Hitched, Darkblood Prison, and Wolfish but it's not necessary to read the other series first to enjoy this one.
G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.
Who's ready for some more kicka$$ fight scenes between our favorite slayer-vampire duo? Kiss of Death is here and it's spicier than ever ;) I can't wait to hear what you guys think!
Wow just wow! This was another book that I couldn’t put down. I read it straight through. Every time i think I had it figured out GK surprised me. It was definitely packed with action, suspense, and surprises.. and that ending. If you don’t like a cliff hanger you may wanna wait for Book 3 LOL! I absolutely love Nix and Ransom. The angst which was on full force this book. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for her next book!
Oh my goodness gracious. This was another unputdownable book. It had me hooked from the beginning. Nix and Ransom……. just get over yourselves and see what’s right in front of you already! That turmoil and angst has never felt more real. That cliffy! Ugh…. this book had everything; suspense, love, plot twists galore… absolutely loved it all. Now I’m going to be waiting in suspense until book three comes out.
So much action and drama! It hurts my heart when Ransom and Phoenix hurt each other emotionally, but it’s because they have such big walls around their hearts. Ugh, I hope they get things worked out.
I really loved the reveal at the end; I’m super stoked about it!! I am also loving seeing characters from previous series set in Azar. It’s like one big happy family! 😂
Phoenix is captive under Ronin and Ransom is trying to keep his cover. Phoenix's secret has started spread and now her life is in real danger. The bond between the two is growing stronger. She learns more about her past. A great read. Love the series and the characters. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
This is maybe even better than the first book in the series, which I also loved. This one is fast paced, full of action, twists, turns and surprises in the plot. Great world building, and I love getting to see characters from different series making appearances in this one. Nix and Ransom are wonderful characters, I love Nix's strength and perseverance. I am now hooked on this series.
Phoenix is learning more about her past and now she has the one responsible for killing her parents wanting to use her to become king. She has to ream uo with Ransom to get her revenge. This book has lots of twists and will keep you guessing. You will absolutely need more.
A great second book to this series, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action, adventure and intrigue. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
The second book picks right up where book one left off with Nix imprisoned by Ronin after Ransom’s betrayal. Nix is furious of course but Ransom does manage to get her out of the prison by letting him be captured in getting her to safety. She hooks back up with her team and they plan on a daring raid to save humans who are also imprisoned where she was and free Ransom if possible. Nix finds she has a new special power she never knew she had and she is able to save Ransom and join her team.
Surprises await Nix as the attraction between her and Ransom reaches a fever pitch. There are further surprises awaiting her as she finds another new power in fighting off Ronin’s army. On top of that she finally finds out who she really is and what wolf clan she belongs to and it isn’t who she has believed all her life!
This is a really exciting story that once you start it you’ll be hard put to not stay with it and finish it in one session! I really wanted to but alas other commitments on my part made it a two day reading fest for me.
I definitely recommend this book and series to both young adult and adult readers alike! The story will grab you and not let you go! These characters fast become your friends and you experience their ups and downs and betrayals along with the love/hate relationship between Phoenix and Ransom! You can feel the tension between them and wonder if the enviable happens just what will actually happen. Can Ransom be a vampire with a soul and find his lost wolf again after he sacrificed himself to save Sierra or will he find nothing inside himself at all as he fears!
GK’s series are pure adrenaline, page turning, stories you will love! If you have read any of her other series you will know what you’ll get with this one and you’ll get this series as quick as you can! If you’ve not had that pleasure yet, well pick up this series and settle back to enjoy a thrilling and suspenseful read that you will enjoy throughly I can guarantee you!
I for one can’t wait for book three to come out so I can get back to this story and find out what new challenges Nix and Ransom face as they struggle to try and finish the mate bond to bind themselves to each other if everything goes as it should or face a devastating disappointment that could leave them both shattered for the rest of their lives!
Excitement awaits so pick up this series today and get “sucked in” to a story you will love!
This is book 2 in the Vampish series and it is not a standalone. But GK DeRosa thank you for your gift this was an amazing sequel to a great first book. And I cannot wait for the next book in the series. This book starts without missing a beat from the previous book and the sex appeal is climbing throughout the book.
Nix hated that she had been assigned to be a babysitter for this fanger but then he turned on her and now she is stuck. Imprisoned by the very fanger that killed her parents and the reason she joined the Sicari to begin with. If that wouldn’t be enough the rebel king now wants her to turn against the Royal queen and start a war. Nix only has one goal to get out of here and make Ransom pay for betraying her.
Is the attraction that Nix has for Ransom going to be her downfall? Or is she going to be strong enough keeping her wits about herself and return to her team to lead them against the war the rebel king is trying to start. And where does Ransom stand in all this? After he delivered Nix to the Rebel King is he going to join him in his cause or is he sticking to his mantra of being the lone vampire?
So many questions and thankfully DeRosa has a wonderful way of keeping you on the edge of the seat to find all of those answers. And if you thought you had all the answers this book is full of additional twist and turns that are beyond anyone’s imagination and lots more questions to keep you entertained.
After the cliffy we ended up with at the end of Vampish The Hunt I had no idea where this story would take us but Vampish Kiss of Death did not disappoint. This book was bitetastic just like book 1. It was packed full of twists and surprises and omg the slow burn angst is heating up 🔥 It does end in another cliffy, but that just makes me so much more excited for book 3 to see where this is all leading to. I can’t wait to see how Ransom, Nix, and her team get through the upcoming issues ahead and discover more about themselves and each other in book 3.
Below are a few of my favorite quotes from book 2 that gave me some chuckles: “Oh Red, I’ll always have your back, your front, whatever you’ll give me.” “Vamp-hole,” I muttered.
“I’d like to kill you.” “Liar, liar, pants on fire.” I slapped her perfect cheek again, and fire lit up the bond between us. “Bite me!” she bit out. “Oh, Red, don’t tempt me.”
“Oh Red, so stab-happy. You know, I’m starting to think all this aggression with a phallic weapon is a manifestation of a deeper desire—”
I can’t wait to see everyone’s discussions and comments after they read this next book..great job again GK Derosa! 🥰
Years after her parents died at the hands of vampires Nix is caught in the clutches of the bloodsucker who murdered them. He wants to use her blessing to lead his rebellion to victory, but she has other ideas. Furious at Ransom for betraying her she wants revenge more than ever, but first to escape she is forced to trust him once again. But Ronin has a powerful ally, as it turns out the gods have something to say in this too. Not only does Nix need to face an army of vampires, a traitorous queen, and devastating family secrets but harnessing her emerging powers may just win this war. But will she have the strength to protect those she loves?
Aaah!! I have been counting down the days till G.K. released this book and man it was worth the wait. Nix has changed soo much in this book and I like how she's starting to learn how to rely on others and the character development is just wonderful. The plot twist at the end was masterfully done and just crazy. The art at the beginnings of the chapters is beautiful and G.K. deserves a standing ovation. I'm dying to read the next one since our faithful heroine is basically backed into a corner. Don't know if this will be a trilogy or a four-book series like Wolfish but I'll definitely be counting the hours 'till June 1st. P.S. Have a niggling feeling Nix will be turned into a vamp.
This book is a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, vampire vs. slayer romance and I simply did not want to put it down! G.K. DeRosa has me on the edge of my seat with all the usual drama, laughable puns and smexy (her words) scenes as the mystery unfolds. Rated 17+, the steamy factor has been ratcheted up a few notches for this second installment in the Vampish series. Language is still tame, but no less spicy. Ransom and Nix are my new favorite couple from the world of Azar. I dare you not to fall in love with this hot mess…
The story begins with our MC’s in captivity, and the tension is palpable. Our feisty duo is still battling their inner demons and fate, all while giving us the sassy sexy banter and memorable one-liners we all love. Ransom and Nix complement and balance each other so well – even with bardy as the necessary third wheel. I found myself yelling at them, just as much as I was rooting for them, to finally take a chance on each other. If you need a few more reasons to pick up this book… there’s a new “big bad” whose revelation will give you chills, plus so many secrets are uncovered – with the biggest one leaving us on a cliffhanger! Gah! I cannot wait for the next book!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you thought Phoenix was annoying in the first book, she was uber annoying in this one. So much hot and cold and push and pull going on between her and Ransom, and not in a good way. What's keeping her from Ransom? Nothing, except him being a vampire. He's your mate! Who cares if he's a vampire?! I was sick of this. There was no reason for them not to be together. And then Ransom was Mr. Brooding, also hot and cold, "I don't deserve you" stupidity. But I felt for him in this bc Phoenix is a bitch. She hurts him so much that idk why Ransom likes her. Guess he has to bc the mating bond is so strong. I'm so tired of her and her immaturity.
Phoenix being jealous that Spark has moved on even tho she has no feelings for him, the "slut" language, the villains not being scary, the overuse of Ransom's nickname for Phoenix "Red" and the concept of him giving nicknames to women based on their hair color.. The annoying details are adding up.
The language is getting irritating too: fang you, fanging, vamp-hole.. Jesus Christ, just use the real curse words, please.
The story itself is what keeps me reading, along with the bloodletting and vampires. So I'll probably read the final 2 books, anyway, despite how annoying everyone is.
Nix and Ransom have been Ronin’s prisoners for a month, based on the speed of Ronin’s soldiers, Ransom knew he was saving Nix but she doesn’t see it that way. Now that Ransom’s promised to gain Nix’ agreement to help Ronin dethrone the queen, he has enough freedom to earn Nix as a roommate and quietly shares a bit of his plan with Nix for her freedom.
On a hunt, Ransom runs into Nix’ team and offers a deal that includes Nix’ freedom, he has the same opportunity with Hunter. Unexpectedly, Ransom gets an opportunity for him and Nix to escape, though no ideal, Ransom and Nix take the chance. Nix escapes but Ransom is recaptured, beaten and tortured under Ronin’s supervision.
Back with her team, Nix tells them everything except about her mate bond with Ransom. Three days after escaping, Nix leads her team and her head rival’s team on an unsanctioned mission to rescue the human blood-slaves and Ransom. With the humans saved and desperately fighting the mate bond, Nix searches for Ransom, unaware he’s in bloodlust. Rating: 4stars
Couldn't put it down I was glued to my screen all day powering through this book so much was happening I just had to know what happened next.
I felt a bit sad with the back forth between Ransom and Nix, they've both realized they're fated mates soemthing that shouldn't be possible as Ransom lost his wolf when he was turned meaning had he not Nix was his. Nix just needs to hurry up and wrap her head around everything she didn't want Spark but then gets jealous he's moved on and then she's on the fence about Ransom. On top of all the love life drama everyone now knows what Nix's wolf is capable of the kiss of death and it's painted a target on her back by everyone even her allies turn against her because he blood can resurec a God along with other rare supes blood. Nix also learns her parental linage may not be as it seemed which cuts her to the core... Can't wait to see where it goes next 😁
>I am an independent reviewer. This is the 2nd book in the Vampish series and ends in a cliffhanger. Phoenix’s weird powers start to come out and Ronin & the vampire queen find out. Everyone wants to know how to break a curse in order to stop the God of death, Thanatos, from breaking the curse and taking over everything. The relationship between Phoenix and Ransom turns adult and they finally sleep together. The back and forth between Phoenix and Ransom is so tiring, it is bringing my enjoyment of the series down.
> This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. Phoenix is way too volatile to be in a relationship. She needs to chill a bit.
Action, mystery, tension, romance, and the supernatural mixed with a shmexy vamp and a sassy shifter heroine… I didn’t think it was possible to like Handsome Ransom even more (and Nix too), but I was wrong ; ) They’re becoming one of my favorite enemies to lovers couple. There was so much in book 2 that I wasn’t expecting and some I was SO happy about (no spoilers though). I’m just glad it didn’t end on a cliffhanger that ripped my heart out. Also, I loved seeing some of the characters from other series in this world pop in. If you like action-packed urban fantasy with enemies to lovers/ forbidden romance, you need to read this series.
Oh my goodness, GK has done it again! Sooooo good!!! So, I’ve loved Ransom since Wolfish so I knew I would love book 2 of his own series but this book was even better than the first. GK adds just enough adventure, mystery and steamy romance to draw you in and make you not want to set the book down. All the characters seem to come to life so vividly you can clearly picture them. Exceptionally well written with one doozy of a cliff hanger! I cannot wait for book 3 of Vampish! Pick this series up, you wont be disappointed. . I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Boy, I am shattered this morning. I read this book in one sitting (or should that be lying as I was in bed?) This is the second of the series and was even better than the first, more action, same great characters and a fab plot. We also get to find out more about the previous lives of our hero and heroine Ransom - rhymes with hansom - and Nix, and learn about their fears about the commitment to each other, the losses they have suffered and how this has affected them. However, on they go into battle together and into a future that holds who knows what. I made a start on the third book and can't wait to see where this will lead me - another sleepless night no doubt.
Okay, so maybe I saw that ending cliffhanger coming 😃
The curse/spell that Ronin is trying to break to bring a certain God back to life still is pretty baffling as to why he actually would want to do this if he was to be king because I wouldn't think the God of death would want to come in 2nd to Ronin. Just my opinion, so I'm not sure just where all of this is going.
To bond or not bond, that is the question wink 😉 😉. I'm hoping the next book is a bit more enlightening even with the cliffhanger Ms. DeRosa presented at the end of this book. On to the next book.
Fun 3.5 Same as the first one basically. We actually get to know the characters a bit better and as frustrating the back and forth in their relationship is it somehow shows that it is not easy to enter and keep going a relationship....the struggle is real. And their problems really don't make it any easier for them. Ransom is very irresponsible though sometimes...when Nix is trying he takes a step backwards... Most of the book revolves around their relationship without many new information or plot additions. But we will see...
After I inhaled the first book, my hopes were sky high for this one. Instead it was a boring read, it took about 3 weeks for me to get through this. It had action but nevertheless there was nothing gripping or intriguing about this one. Nix and Ransom was constantly hot and cold so unlike the first book I couldn’t feel the chemistry. So when they finally slept together it meant nothing to me. Ofcourse it seemed like nothing to our hot and cold Nix too. Because after that she was cold again. I think this book couldn’t fulfil its potential.
There is a lot going on in this one, and quite a few surprises. Nix and Ransom are good together with a perfect mix of humor and snark. She will be learning some things about her past. This is fast-paced, action-packed, with twists and turns keeping the story line racing along and exciting. You won’t find any dull moments in this one! And you’ll find yourself eagerly waiting for the next book. It’s one of those you hate to put down, even for dinner!
I was pleasantly surprised by this series. The story is easy to follow, full of action, plenty of intriguing and fun content and amazing characters. This is the second book of the series, which continues right where book one ended. I would happily recommend this series to any PNR lovers out there. My only issue is that we occasionally see some childish behavior and/or responses from the main characters which I did not care for.
Nix has been captured by the rogue vampire king. In part thanks to Ransom. Now they are both prisoners. With the help of her team, Ransom is able to free Nix. The rogue vampire king wants to recruit Nix to use her lethal nite to take out his enemies. Nix discovers some new things about herself that further out her in danger. Allies are hard to find. In top of all that Nix and Ransom are tiptoeing around the bond forming between them. So much drama!!
I am devouring these books. I have read every single one of her books now. Just waiting for the 3rd campus’s book to come out then I will be all caught up again with all her books. I have enjoyed every one of them. I do enjoy the original Wilder books but these books seem more complex and the characters have much more depth. Not to take away from the Wildwr books because I did thoroughly enjoy them as well.
Exciting catch-ups are in store with familiar characters like Fenix, Kimmie-Jayne, Luciano, Hunter, Sierra and the mention of Azara. Though, I'm particularly curious about what happened to Fenix's twin, as we haven't heard about him in a long time.
The thrilling twists and turns and the revelation right at the end of this book two excite me. With Phoenix's precarious situation, the addition of new allies is a welcome development.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Handsome Ransom gets back his soul and solidifies the bond between the two. While the story may be somewhat spicier than before, the constant back and forth is starting to wear me out!
