A black woman who suffers from agoraphobia?!!! Yes please! Come Into The Out Now was such an interesting read. You don’t hear about agoraphobia affecting the black community very often so, that was enough to make me want to read this book. After experiencing something so traumatic, Maggie lived much of her life in isolation and away from the world for 16 years. All of that changes with a simple prescription delivery. Enter Oxy Christianson. He’s instantly intrigued by the cutie who refuses to leave her home and makes it his mission to get her on the other side of her front door. The way Oxy romanced Maggie was absolutely adorable. Their Zoom dates had me grinnin’ like a fool and, when they declared themselves a couple on her IG live, I actually said “awwwwww” out loud. The patience Oxy displayed was commendable. He never rushed Maggie and he allowed her to venture back into society at her own pace. The added drama with Perc and her trash azz baby daddy was the right amount of suspense. That plot twist the author hit us with had me clutchin’ my invisible pearls because, I did not see that coming. Talk about six degrees of separation! I do have to say, Maggie getting over her agoraphobia as quickly as she did was unrealistic. It felt like it was almost forgotten about. For someone with a severe anxiety disorder who locked herself away for 16 years, she seemed to be coping awfully well with strangers in her home. It’s like all of her issues just magically disappeared. I guess that’s what a new man will do for you. Aside from that, Come Into The Out Now was an excellent read. Oxy’s persistence and their courtship made for a beautiful love story.

Love heals

This was an interesting take on agoraphobia, and I appreciated the plot. Maggie was caught in the crossfire of a situation that changed her forever and from the on she lived with anxiety, depression, and the fear of going outside. For over a decade she was confined to her childhood home with very minimal physical contact to the outside world. The presence she had on social media was so interesting, but I loved that for her because it kept her in touch with people and kept her in the loop of present day trends, fashion, etc. The medication she needed to manage her disorder would be the bridge to her coming out of her shell .

Oxy had just taken over his family pharmacy business. He was young, wealthy, and with the ish. He found himself doing a special delivery to Maggie and was blown away by her presence. I loved that he applied just enough pressure for her to know he was interested, but also he was respectful of her disorder. Their connection was sweet.

The book was paced fast to me. It went from them kicking it to her wanting to have sex. I think there could have been a little foreplay in there somewhere🤷🏾‍♀️. Then all of a sudden she was inviting people over and then going outside. I think realistically it would have taken more time. I think just a little more development of their love would have enhanced the story.

There were also plenty of grammar errors throughout the book. I enjoyed the story, but would have enjoyed it more had it been properly edited.

Right up my alley 😊😊😊

A love story about a hermit... it was like the book was written just for me. To give me hope... My Boaz is delivering something somewhere waiting on my order 🤣🤣🤣

As always Mel Dau wrote the mess out this love story... (gotta watch my language, Jeff been blocking my reviews) Oxy and Maggie were so sweet I got a toothache!!! The way Oxy was persistent and consistent!!! #Swoon!!! 😍😍😍

The family dynamics in Mel Dau books never miss. Strong black families are a must in her books and a joy to read. I loved this one, another great read!

4⭐s Highly Recommend

Decent Read

When I read the synopsis for this story, I was intrigued! A story about a woman suffering from agoraphobia? I was all in. While the story started off strong with background into the events that led to Maggie’s agoraphobia, things began to fizzle out fairly quickly.

Once Maggie met Jamison aka Oxy. The agoraphobia was almost forgotten about. For someone that was locked inside of her home for 16 years with severe anxiety and depression, she sure did seem to be coping just fine with allowing strangers into her home and moving quickly with a man. Her mental health struggles were not addressed and magically seem to disappear.

I normally give grace when it comes to grammatical errors, but this story was filled with them.

The writer could have given us more. I really felt cheated. The plot and character development were kind of disappointing. This story had the potential to be great.

The real deal

When a man shows you his real side, it's not always what you expect. In this latest edition of the Christianson's family tales, the story was about Maggie Carson and Jamison Christianson Jr. Their story took place many years after an event that would change her life. Jamison came along when she needed him the most.
****My only gripe is the constant mentions about the Christianson, Washington, and Smith connection**** Other than that.... The story was extra dope.

What a read! I always know that I am in for a treat when the Christianson/Washington/Smith clan get together, and this was no exception! Poor Maggie! Having to live her life in isolation and fear, after witnessing something so traumatic, was heartbreaking! However, she still made a name for herself, and refused to let anything mess up her bag! Meeting Jamison shook her to her core! What does this man want with her? Why is he so persistent? Jamison was bae! He was instantly attracted to Maggie, and wanted to help her in any way that he could, as she was the one! The way he took his time to make Maggie comfortable enough to slowly ease her out of the house, and back into society was beautiful! Loved how the clan just rallied around her, and gave her the support and confidence that she needed to push forward! Jemini! Why could she not see that this man wasn't about ish? Then to find out who he really was, and his connection to everyone! 😠 This man really thought he could come up on the Christianson family? Welp, see what happens when you think foolish things like that huh? I really hope that Jemini gets a story next! Feel like she has a story to tell! Great work as always! 👍👍👍

Interesting Read

I found this book to be interesting and enjoyable. It had a number of surprising twists and turns. I felt for Maggie in the loss of her parents. I really appreciated how the issue of agoraphobia was handled. ( I did wonder how feasible it was for someone on medication for Anxiety to have five alcoholic beverages for the very first time) .

Jamison seemed like the man who could have any girl he wanted. Handsome , wealthy, educated and a little bit of a bad boy vibe working. Who knew that when Maggie and Jamison’s paths crossed , both their lives would take on a major change for the better. The plot was good and as I stated it had its share of twists and turns. There was romance ,drama, and a taste of what it’s like when people function in on the dark side when necessary.

I gave the book four star only because there were a few editing errors that had me rereading to try and make sure I understood what was going on. If it. Weren’t for that I would have given it 5 stars

Jamison and Mags😍

Mel Dau has done it again❗👌👏Her pin game is truly bipolar. Her books are so informative and insightful, not to mention sexy as heck🔥💦. I really enjoyed Mag and Oxy's story. It was beautiful that her mother had already created a family for her to lean on. Jamison's family was accepting, loving and exactly what she needed to help her come into the out now. I loved Perc and that loser Talon got what he deserved. It was good to see all the older characters from the previous books😍 Great job❗❗

Loved it

This author never fails, with giving us something different. While I'm not as extreme as Mag, I definitely understand her not wanting to come outside and the way her house was set up, I wouldn't either. I loved Oxy, he did what he had to do to make her comfortable and to be able to let her guard down with her. I loved how his family welcomed her in and cared for her as well. I would recommend this book.

This author NEVER disappoints me. She manages to combine love and mental health awareness in so many of her stories and it’s beautiful. When the right person comes along they can help you heal in ways you never imagined. I really enjoyed Maggie & Oxy’s story. His persistence was such a turn on and it was beautiful seeing their love unfold through the pages.

Out Now

This was a bit different with the storyline of agoraphobia. I truly sympathized with Maggie. Her and Oxy gave me a high, I was rooting for them. From the first meeting call to the garden it felt realistic, magnetic and awe inspiring. Perc girl I was wondering what were you thinking from the beginning. Then I felt bad in the end but she came out on top with a blessing. That twist I did not see coming. 5 x⭐️

Excellent story

Omg this was such a good book, started out with a bang. My heart went out to Maggie, she went through a lot at such a young age. I’m glad she met the Christianson’s and they looked after her. Oxy was sooo swoon worthy. He came he saw he conquered. I’m glad Mags stepped out of her comfort zone and started living.

Come on out

This was a superb read. I was hooked from the first paragraph until the last sentence. The book flowed really well and while it had added spice and drama, it really was a Lovely Romantic feel type book. I enjoyed learning about Maggie Carson and Jamison Christianson Jr.

My heart went out to Maggie from the jump. She seemed like a true daddy's girl and to go through something as tragic as she did was rough to imagine. I'm not sure if I would've been able to handle being inside for as long as she did, yet it was completely understandable. I loved that she put trust into the Christianson family enough to invite them into her space. I wasn't sure about Jemeni aka Perc, Jamison's little sister, coming over to Maggies and then inviting her cousins, yet I see they were truly trying to be friendly. I think all Maggie needed was the right kind of trustworthy people in her life to help her get out of her shell.

Jamison Christianson aka Oxy, was a family man, in that he took over his father's pharmacy company, lived on the land his family owned and lived on too, had a dope relationship with his younger sister and was very close to his cousins. I was thinking I might not like him given he was trying to tell his sister to not be with a deadbeat man, while he was having a physical relationship with a woman that wasn't to his standards to be in a real relationship with. Yet, he was upfront and honest with Candy about not wanting a relationship with her and she just didn't get it. I couldn't feel bad for her at all. Other than that bad judgement call, he was a super sweet man. Once he saw Maggie, not even in person, yet through a zoom interview, he was kind of all in to seeing if he could get something going with her. I like that he was creative and patient with her. I also love that he was fiercely protective of her as well. He said he'd wife her and that's exactly his plan.

Jemini and her whole baby daddy situation was a lot. All that for a vendetta. Dude was all the way messed up.

I loved the way this family, first cousins, uncles, brothers, etc were so close. Now I have to go back and read more of her work.

My first Mel Dau book. Not my last. Great read. Highly recommend.

Ok, if you're lost, this one is about Jamison Christianson Sr's (Aka Codeine) kids: Jamison Justin Jr. aka Oxy or Ox and losely his sister Jemini aka Perc.

Tracking? Bet! Whew, it's a lot of these jokers!

Soo, while I am all for the Christiansons insta love ❤️ 😍 I just couldn't give a 4⭐️ review and here is why.

This story follows Maggie, who has not left her home in 16 years due to agoraphobia, severe anxiety, depression, AND PTSD due to trauma in her childhood. Then overnight and after a few drinks 🍸 allows the Christiansons to invite themselves over to her sanctuary 🙃 ! You know, cause that's how you cure that 💁🏾‍♀️!!

A few weeks later, she is doing overnight stays and then at the club 🤦🏾‍♀️.

Did I love these 2 as a couple immensely. But if we are just going assign illnesses and then ignore them, let's at least say it was misdiagnosed.

This family will forever have my heart. Every time I step back into this world, it feels like coming home.

First of all, the title made me giggle because my family loves Home, so I was already smiling before I even started reading. Once I got into the story smile removed and I was locked in. The Washington-Christianson–Smith kids are grown, and my goodness they are truly their parents’ children in the best ways. They handle what needs to be handled!

Mel Dau does what she always does she educates while she tells a story. The way agoraphobia was portrayed felt so informative and real. Maggie’s world wasn’t rushed, minimized or fixed for the sake of romance. Her trauma was hers and the healing moved at her pace.

Oxy was absolutely perfect for Maggie. He never forced her out of her comfort zone or tried to save her. He simply encouraged her and allowed her to make a decision. His priority was always her safety, her peace and her consent. Watching him move with patience, understanding, quiet strength and love made their connection feel genuine and earned. Their first date via zoom showed his intentions were genuine.

What I loved most was Maggie’s agency. She managed her condition on her own terms leaning into meditation, prayer, and trusting her intuition when the time was right. Her growth wasn’t loud or dramatic it was deeply personal.

My heart broke for what Jemini experienced. That part hurt. But what gave me comfort was knowing she is surrounded by love, support and family that will not let her fall through the cracks. That theme family as a safe landing place continues to be one of my favorite parts of this entire universe.

This story was full of quiet strength. Another beautiful reminder that love doesn’t force doors open sometimes it simply waits, knocks gently and lets you decide when you’re ready to step outside.

As someone who is introverted and prefers being at home, I was eager to read this book about a young woman suffering from agoraphobia. I was not familiar with the author's work, so I didn't know this was urban fiction but realized it quickly when the hero Jamison Christianson Jr. was introduced to the reader as a multi-millionaire pharmacist. At the start of the story, Jamison goes to the club, and at the club, there is a woman, Candy, who is all over him like a cheap suit. So at this point, I adjusted myself to the genre. I enjoy urban fiction, but very rarely can I root for the couple to get together at the end. Especially in this case. While at the club, Jamison (Oxy is his street name) falls into a bad mood and decides to lift his spirits by having sex with a woman he doesn't even want to talk to.

Anyway, that's the hero of the book.

I loved Maggie Carson, who is afraid to leave her home due to a traumatic experience in her past. Despite not leaving her house, she created several income streams, including being a social media influencer and an accountant. Because she could not leave her home, she made it into an oasis. She meets Oxy when he delivers her medication from the pharmacy. I loved how because of her relationship with Oxy, Maggie slowly emerges from her carefully constructed cocoon.

Toward the end of the book, there was a jarring switch of POV to Perc, Oxy's sister, to justify the treatment of her baby's father. That subplot was frustrating as Perc chose to make a baby with a guy like that. Anyway, overall I liked the book and how Oxy and Maggie's story converged and connected in the end.

Yyyaaayyy👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!!!

I can always count on Queen Mel Dau to give us a tear jerking, heart warming love story. She always speaks on therapy, healing and family. It's always good catching up with the Smith, Washington's and Christianson family💕
Maggie really went through a traumatic event that left her inside and closed off from everyone except her mom for over a decade. Then after losing her mom she only has a friend of the family and his wife that she trust. After they leave for vacation their son is left with the task of delivering her meds. Oxy is intrigued by Maggie and after being in her presence he wants to know more about her. From their first zoom date, these two are pretty much inseparable. He had her stepping outside of her comfort zone, doing things she never saw herself doing.
Perc pissed me off the first half of the book. I hate what happened to her at the hands off that phuck boy she went against the family for😢. Her one true blessing out of that was her baby boy Jeremy💕
Talon was an ain't sh*t phuck boy just Louie his daddy. He deserved EVERYTHING he got🤷🏽
Candy was a prime example of a person will only do to you what you allow them to do. Now I give some of that blame to Oxy cause the moment he knew she was developing feelings he should've stopped giving her the🍆. At the same time she set herself up for disappointment like so many other women, thinking her😺was gonna change that man mind about being with her😔.
Oxy came into Maggie's life and gave her the courage to open up and let others into her oasis. I really enjoyed their courtship and ik this won't be the last we hear from them.

Another Mel Dau Banger!🙌🏾

I loved this book!!!!❤️ Maggie, bless her heart, her life was so traumatized from a horrific loss that she was existing, but she wasn't living. Jamison, sexy and confident as all the Christianson, Washington & Smith men are, was just what the doctor ordered to start Maggie's healing. I love how Jamison moved at her pace, slowly building a friendship based on trust. I love how his family, especially his sister and girl cousins, embraced her and helped her come out of her shell. I was not expecting the connection to so many of them regarding that last situation, but it made so much more sense why Co went out of his way for Maggie's family. That epilogue was everything!🙌🏾 s/n I really wish I could go hang out in Maggie's backyard.😂 Brava, Mel Dau, Brava!👏🏾 5 ⭐ Stars!

Love Can Help You Heal

This book was different and in a good way. I didn’t expect the events to happen the way they did. This book shows how things that happen in our lives can sometimes cripple us and block our blessings if we allow it to. Never give up and trust God because it will come together. This book also was a good reminder to trust your gut that if something is off, it’s off so don’t let it rest so easy. I’m glad the story had ups and downs and everybody didn’t have a happy ending.
The only things I would fix about the book is some of the words seem like they were in the wrong place or there in error.
I do look forward to the next book.

I love and hate that I read out of order. I read A Beautiful Mess first, so I knew of Oxy and Maggie’s love however experiencing it from their point of view was soooo much better! My heart went out to Maggie from the beginning, and I already knew a little about Oxy so I knew he was the perfect man for her.
Mel Dau gave a great story filled with knowledge, truth, faith, acceptance and love. The plot twists and drama were nicely balanced within this book leaving me gasping while clapping my hands… because I love when the get back is spot on! We also got to experience the ups and downs this couple went through while also being rewarded with their accomplishments! I have to make time to go back and read about all of the Christiansons because I’m highly interested in this family!

Oxy and Mags

I literally devoured this book in one sitting. Mags had a traumatic experience that led to her not wanting to leave the house, having anxiety and afraid to be around people. That is until Oxy kind of barged his way in. He handles her with such care and she gains a family in the process. When something happens to her friend and Oxy's sister she finds her real strength and gets her freedom she truly deserves. Watching Mags come out of her shell so to speak was amazing. It was just so pure. I highly recommend this read that I didn't even realize had been sitting on my kindle.💋

Love it!!!

I love all of Mel Dau's books and this one didn't disappoint. I like how she's is able to educate us as well as entertain. Maggie is such a sweet, innocent character. I hated how the trauma she endured caused her to literally shelter herself. Oxy is so patient and loving with her. I'm glad she was able to flourish by the end. My heart broke for Perc. I hope we'll get to hear more from her point of view in the future. She didn't deserve what Talon put her through and I hope she'll find a love for her & Jeremy. I can't wait to read what's next.

Love Makes Things Happen

Mel Dau, writes about mental health with her characters so well. She makes them so relatable and honest with their struggles to maneuver in the world and find love and acceptance. This story is no different . Maggie lives a hidden away from the world around her due to tragic circumstances. Jamison meets Maggie and slowly begins to break down the walls to her heart and her world around her. This is a beautiful love story filled with intrigue, some grit, romance and warmth.

fantastic

I love each and every last one of your books! Maggie’s father was taken from her in such a cruel way and she could have lost her life if it hadn’t been for him shielding her body from more bullets. It took time, but Jamison came along and gave her what she needed. I hate that Jemini had to go through h3ll to finally see that her child’s father was trash, but she had the support of her family to help with the baby. Glad that they sent Talon to hades with his ain’t ish pappy!
