This is book two in the series and must be read after book one, Found. This contains spoilers for book one, so if you haven't read it, turn back now!
Aly can finally learn what the guys are but she’s thrown into the deep end with her mating bond to Jeremy. Finding out supernaturals are real and that you have five mates is a lot but at least Aly has the guys by her side. They start trying to learn what Aly is, while training her to survive in the supernatural world.
*This is a medium burn, paranormal, reverse harem, meaning she doesn’t have to choose and book two in the series. The story changes POVs between the main character and her men. The steaminess factor will go up as the series goes on and is intended for 17+. This is 40,000 words and ends on a cliff hanger*
2.75 😬🫤 I read to 70% and then skimmed to the end. Why you ask? Because it became very obvious where the book was going and I'm not invested enough to care. If I'm honest with myself, it was obvious in the first book too.
(I am coming off three 5 star supernatural academy reads ... Is this affecting my experience? Maybe? C'est la vie.)
There was also no improvement in the editing for this second book. Just one example is when it said she was "hoping up quickly to leave." Obviously this was a typo and should have been "hopping". There were so many errors just like this. ** I want to stress to you all that I don't usually even address typos and grammar or syntax errors. It's just there were Soooo many!! **
This should be marketed towards preteens with the way it’s written, but there are quite a lot of 18+ scenes, which aren’t even great. I skimmed them. I’m finished the series. The cliffhangers though!
Bound is better than book one, as we have more time understand the characters and there is a storyline coming in whilst we try to figure out Aly's supernatural abilities - which was pretty obvious. But doesn't make it any less enjoyable.
It has been better getting to know the boys but the university and rest of the world is background this is just about a reverse harem self discovery story.
If you like spice this has a fair amount.

The characters are very plain, with no backstory whatsoever. The dialogues are extremely cringy. The writing style is awful (although better than in the last book) There is no real plot and everything is so predictable it becomes very boring really quickly. I won't be reading the rest of the series.
The second in the Brickstone University series. We have gotten to the spice! It’s not my favourite spice I’ve ever read; but not enough to deter me from continuing. I just really love all the relationships that Aly our FMC has with all the boys. They all have unique perspectives and are just so sweet. I think my favourite is Jack because he’s so pure and innocent. Another quick novella; keeping on going to the next one!
Not that great. Everything felt scripted and the emotions were all over the place. We don't actually get any connection between the characters except them having sex.
I'm really confused I'm still enjoying this series and all of like the little romantic things and what not but I'm really confused about the whole Hunter thing I'm hoping in the next book there's more details also I feel like this book could've been better Edited there's several places where there's spelling and grammatical errors that took me out of the story
The pacing is glacial, we have to wait through the entire book for one significant thing to happen. The relationship pacing is really slow too, it seems like she is only going to claim one mate per book - even though they are all ready and waiting. Except, even though she only claims one mate per book, the relationships aren’t progressing emotionally. The whole ‘relationship’ feels stagnant.
The writing is juvenile and I mean that in several ways. 1) it feels like this book was written by a teenager who hasn’t finished high school. It also feels like the author’s main means of communication is via text, and her writing skills reflect that. 2) The dialogue feels juvenile. The sentences are too short and simplistic lacking description and emotion. The story is very flat and boring.
The characters have no depth or personality; most of the main characters don’t have a backstory. There is no emotional depth to the relationships or to the characters themselves.
I realize this is a new author, but I honestly feel like she should take a break from writing and attend at least an entry level college English class. It would really help her, I’m sure of it.
To top it all off, this series is extremely predictable. I made a prediction on what was going to happen in this series at less than 6% into the first book (these are short books, that means I was a few pages into the second chapter). My prediction was proven correct at the end of the second book….
I’m not gonna waste my time reading anything else in this series.
OK so I haven't finished this book yet but I'm starting to see a consistent problem! It seems this author doesn't edit and there always seems to be inconsistencies in time like one minute I think what is being described is the same day then all of a sudden it's been a month or a few days and we have no clue how times changed from one moment to the next. There's no flow and no descriptive time changes in like anyway and it's to annoying. I'm finishing this book and probably the next but if I knew before how annoying it would of been I probably wouldn't of started this series even though the plot line is so good! Just I think this author needs to invest in an editor... also some small plot holes every once in a while. The author also says "Ya" instead of "Yeah" or "Yea" like come on stop being lazy and write properly. Over all the story from the start has been interesting but the writing is horrific.
Another 3.5 ⭐ I feel pretty much the same about this second book as I did about the first. The plot is good, and the characters are likeable, but the reading flow is interrupted by the numerous errors. This makes me sad, as I was hoping to see the author develop better in her writing with book two because her storyline ideas are great. I expected to see a bit more character growth and development in this one, but it seemed to stall. They spent a lot of time repeating the same activities, going to class, searching for what Aly could be, and trying to balance her friendship with Anna and her budding relationships with the guys. The ending was well done and does leave the reader in a quandary, needing to know what will happen next. I do plan read the next book.
I really liked the first book but but this one was just kind of cringy😬 this is my honest opinion at first it wasn't to bad until Jax's chapter I cringed through that whole chapter it was just uncomfortable to read. Then there is the constant use of each others names while they were only talking to each other I found strange. At one point he called her 2 endearments in one sentence like babe princess? And the last chapter I read was when she was having a threesome with two of the guys and she came so hard she saw STARTS. After that I couldn't stop laughing. In the word ya was used A LOT! Do I feel like this author has potential absolutely. Unfortunately for me I will never know how Jax loses his V card
The writing style is basic. The author keeps the characters researching for answers. But it’s obvious what the answer is.. everyone knows what kind of supernatural she is since book one! There are only six types…and everyone can figure out what can trigger the meeting bond. The author made it very clear that the female lead remembers the taste of it, but she’s not sure why she remembers. And then boom there’s a bond. Obviously that’s what triggered it! COME ON! Stop the constant talk about researching books for answers. Ridiculous.
Diving into the paranormal world this is a twist into fated mates and the one supernatural who is supposed to destroy them. Unwittingly mated to a group of paranormals Allie discovers she is their one enemy. Can't wait to see how this unravels in the next book! And where the neck did her mom come from? So many questions to be answered! Excellent read! Simple, intriging and lots of twists!
I think we all knew where this was headed. Five supernatural types in this world and her guys are four of them and she doesn’t know what she is? Yeah. Not so hard to figure out. I was glad she and Jeremy worked their crap out. But I really wish there had been a better twist on what she is. Like half fae half hunter or something more interesting.
I will eventually finish this series but sort of hope I get something to surprise me in the third book.

My biggest issue with book one was that it seemed we had just gotten to the "big reveal stage" of a paranormal book and it ended. The issue with this book was that it was the relationship building portion of a regular book but chopped into another book. Based on the cliffhanger (which anyone with half a brain cell saw coming) the next book with be the part of the book where conflict is introduced and a betrayal occurs. I am with the tropes normally but this is one book not 4.
It reads very well no real heart to it...I really wish It was better Because this really could be a cool story. It's hard to even like the characters or care about anything Pertaining to their lives. It only takes a few hours read each book I will not be reading the next 1
While the story has interesting plot points, the progression and filler between them are extremely jumpy and airy. I wish it was more rounded out, because the potential is truly there. Maybe for people just starting in the genre, this would be fine. I'm left hoping that it will get more detailed as it goes, but thankfully these are very short reads.
Very slow pace, very weird how conversations happen and pace (they start talking about something, and then they just stop after a few sentences and take a week break before returning to the same conversation), and the plot is so obvious the «smart» characters feel kinda dense for not figuring it out…
My biggest issue for this book was the one I had for the series. There was no need to make this a series. Everything could have been wrapped up in one average size book. This paranormal story was an okay storyline and even the characters were interesting, but some of it could have been condensed down into a more streamline story.
The previous book left us on a cliffhanger, so I immediately picked up this one. I liked the first book, but I’m ready to get some answers and discover what is happening with Aly! We get answers in this one, but it ended in a cliffhanger again. I just hope that the story starts to pick up a little bit.
I totally called that she was a hunter, honestly saw that from book one. What I didn’t expect was how it was triggered or for her mom to poof in and take her. Luckily she has bonds to three of the guys so hopefully they can find her. I’m assuming it’s significant that hunters used to mate with the other supernatural races and it hasn’t been done for over a hundred years.

But still good enough for five 🌟. This book explored each supernatural, their powers and process their abilities with Aly's. She doesn't find out which type of supernatural she is until the last few pages in the book. Leading up to those pages date nights out with one guy at a time.
That cliffhanger got me gasping!! I love this group of characters and their bonds that are being built! I can’t wait to see what’s to come for them! Until then I’ll just read the first two again!
I adore this series and its characters. So much fun and each member of the harem is completely unique. The later books do turn into a bit of a smutt fest with outside world interaction ratio but I get it. The plot in every single book is amazing.
I like the storyline quite a lot, but the whole dialogue is cliche. The plot is not fleshed out at all. I would love to see this fantastic plot in the hands of an author who could really do it justice. But I’ll still read it.
Oh my gosh, these are such great and quick reads. I don’t even feel like I’m missing anything with how short they are I was worried I would feel left in the dark but man these are great quick reads!
Aly, Nic, Jeremy, Jay, Kiran, Ajax. I am enjoying the heck out of their story! As we learn more about the world and the creatures in it I am more and more intrigued!
Some of the edits are really bad, and the spelling needs to be fixed, but the storyline is there. I do hope the editing team can look at those issues in the future
The FMC is outrageously dumb and annoying. The book has zero depth. I will continue reading because the storyline draws to me but it feels like a high schooler wrote this for a creative writing assignment.
