Love is fickle, love is… blind? Michael Stevens was the picture-perfect officer who did everything by the book. If the department needed someone trustworthy, loyal, and honorable—he was your guy! So, what was it about Miss Kimberly Randall that had him suddenly breaking all the rules?
Kimmy was tired of saying, ‘I can’t’… Being blind had been both a blessing and a curse… especially right now. The moment that Officer Stevens walked into her life, reading Kimmy her rights, it was downhill from there. There was no more hesitation, no fear of the unknown any longer. She was ‘ all in ’… love, that is.

This is freaking amazing. He loved her so completely, she was whole for him, there was nothing missing in her for him, he just loved her. We would be lucky to have a man like that. Kimmy didn't let anything bring her down, she independent and strong no matter what, I loved her. I just adored them together, literal couple goals
A man who follows all the rules and doesn't deviate. He's heckled by his fellow law enforcement people for doing so but he's always been this way. That all changes when he meets Kimmy. She might be blind but she sticks up for him in front of all the other police personnel, even though he made a huge mistake. He can't help but think she's amazing. Kimmy is one fantastic character! I loved her from the beginning! Even though she has this handicap. she is independent and feisty and oh so loveable! She changes Michael completely, in a good way! When she's in need of rescuing, will he step up to the plate? The two of them together were just awesome! I loved the characters from other stories that made an appearance too. However, it's a standalone so you don't have to read those stories, but you should!
The whole premise of how the main characters met was a little too far fetched for me (many pedestrians pushing/being rude to a blind person, mc not noticing that she was blind (her stick), arresting her, many colleagues hate/harassment). Not that I'm saying everyone is a saint, but most people are/try to be decent (pre-COVID).
The story just left many things unexplained or transitions were awkward. The whole farm/property was never explained like the mc said he would after the driving lesson. Did the precinct/mc have consequences after the whole indecent (sensitivity training)? What happened to the drunk guy that attacked her? Family/relatives were never mentioned. How/why did the mfc lose her vision?
I really liked having a mc with a disability, the main couple together, and the epilogue. The rest of it still needed a lot of work.

I’m not even close to having read half of your tomes, but I have read enough to know that you are so incredibly amazing at bringing your characters to life and drawing us in to the worlds you create. I am continuously amazed at your ability to tie most every story back to Lily & John Griffin, and how you’ve woven the stories together from the very beginning. Kimmy and Michael are thus far my absolute favorite, what a beautiful story, so full of excitement, passion and colorful descriptions of a world most of us are blessed to see. Thank you for sharing your blessed imagination with us.
Michael is getting a lot of ribbing from the other officers at his expense, and it doesn't help when he brings Kimmy in for jaywalking, hangcuffed no less, not knowing she was blind, but then she didn't tell him either. But after that point they got close, and when she was involved in a dangerous situation, he was beside himself. HEA.
I loved this fast and intense romance between a police officer and the blind woman he arrests without her explanation. It was funny how she let him dig a hole for himself in front of his fellow officers and great when she sticks up for him. After a few dates their feelings are intense and after a disaster they become even closer.
This is a good installment of the DCSR series. Kimmie and Michael seem to hit it off and have a whirlwind courtship. She is blind and manages to get around on her own. Michael sees her trying to cross the street and tries to arrest her for jaywalking. What other calamity is in store for them along the way?
I really enjoyed this book. Kimmy didn’t let her handicap define or limit her. Michael was smart enough to let Kimmy do things her way. Both of them are so feisty I’m really not sure which one is the rebel. I really would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when Kimmy had her discussion with Michael’s superiors. Yay, her. I look forward to additional books.
K9 Handler Stevens meets a beautiful pedestrian jaywalking across the street. Little did he know that Kimmy was blind. This misunderstanding quickly escalates as he arrests Kimmy and takes her into the station. The story begins as they work to gain clarity and interest grows. Good story with ups and downs and quick, unexpected twists. Enjoy!
Loved this book! The characters captured my heart. This book is tender but yet fun, I couldn’t put it down. I love this series and look forward to many more. If your not reading them your missing out! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Love is blind, but blind learning love can daunting. This story made me think and imagine a different world. Things went fast with dealing with support and emotions but could have been so different. An excellent story of incidents , survival , and love.
What an excellent read this book was. It was another fast paced hard to put down story. Of course it was a love story but so different from the others you might have read.
When he arrests the lady he catches Jay walking he wasn't expecting to fall for her but that's what he did. Only trouble is he arrested a blind woman and he catches grief for it, lucky for him she is understanding. Oh this book is so sweet and fantastic.
Awww, the book is very funny and sweet. An uptight but caring K9 police officer meets his match in a spunky, sweet blind woman. I am loving these lighter short stories. They are entertaining and fun.
This author knows how to really pull you into all the fun and drama in the story. The problems and trails the characters have to face makes a fantastic story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is 18th book in the Disaster City Search and Rescue Series but can be read as a standalone. The book's blurb lets you know what to expect, though be aware that there is a brief scene when a character is touched without their consent. The Rebel's Rescue is told through Michael and Kimberly's pov and is about two individuals finding their match.
As a police officer, Michael is someone who follow the rules to a t. He has an exemplary record for doing the right thing until he unknowingly arrests Kimberly for jaywalking. She's blind and doesn't want to be pitied so her attitude is strong. While was upset with Michael's mistake, his actions afterwards and how he wanted to right his wrongs won her over.
Because it's a novella, the story is fast paced yet still complete. I liked how Kimberly was bold and brought out a more soft side to Michael. He was decisive and all in with her. The romance was a clean one consisting of only kissing and no foul language was used. Aside from the romance, I enjoyed the bit of action. Readers who like this kind of genre will like this story.
