Mississippi State are the national champions and I still can't believe this is real. Steve does a great job of telling the story of a group of young men that carried decades of heartbreak with them to the finish line. I finished this in just a couple of sittings, and I'm pretty sure I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. I don't think I would recommend this to non-State fans, as you really need to know the players and team history to get the full picture. Hail State!

Very detailed! I enjoyed learning about the history of MSU baseball and reminiscing on that special 2021 season.

A must read for Diamond Dawg fans. Steve goes series by series and adds insight and depth that allows the book NOT to read like a season long box score. Unlike the promotional magazines from SDN and the Commercial Dispatch, Steve reminds the readers of both the highs and lows from the 2021 season. Losing 2 of 3 to Missouri, getting destroyed in Hoover, Sims vs. Koostovo, Allen vs. Schoch, and the fear of game 3 with Rocker on the mound and Perry Costello behind the plate. The season and the book are both amazing rides. It will most likely be an annual read for me moving forward to get ready for baseball season.
