I really wanted to like this book but, I just didn’t get the 5-star reading experience everyone else did. Quinci callin’ Dymon Mr. Dymon throughout the entire book didn’t work for me. Dymon callin’ his parents mother and father didn’t work for me. The BDSM didn’t work for me. The lack of dom/sub vibes didn’t work for me. Now, what did work for me was Dymon checkin’ his mama because, Vivian deserved all the disrespect. And, I think I speak for everyone when I say, don’t nobody want a book on Declan. We good on him. Overall, Tempted by Danger didn’t give what y’all said it gave and I don’t know that I’m going to read the other books in this series.
4/5 - Omg this book was SO GOOD!! I can’t wait to continue the series because if it’s anything like this book, I know I’ll love it! I really hope the author releases physical copies again because I NEED THEM. - This was super spicy and gave enemies to lovers forbidden romance vibes. The entire story was so dramatic that I felt like I was watching a movie or tv show! - Soooo many people have told me to read this series and I don’t know why it took me this long to to pick it up! Loved every second of it!!
It started off good and just got progressively worst as the story went on. The h was immature and the Ebonics from both MCs was too much. Being from the south it irks me when authors paint southerners as country bumpkins. I’m guessing the author hoped to make the h sound country with the way she had her communicating, but ultimately she came off reading as immature and ignorant instead.
The other thing that I didn’t like was how she was so amazed by the dumbest things. The man is a multimillionaire but she was amazed that he had a private jet and a penthouse apartment. The fact that she called him Mr Dymon every time she spoke to and about him solidified the childish aspect. Mr Dymon you gon do this” Mr. Dymon you luv me? Me and Mr Dymon are together. I wonder what Mr Dymon is doing. I honestly couldn’t take it.
I really wanted to like this one cause I am on a streak of bad reads but this book wasn’t the streak breaker.
When this story began, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it…but, to my surprise this was a really good story….I think the draw for me was the combative back and forth between Dymon & Quinci….I absolutely loved the quick witted back and forth between the two….I love the grandmothers and lil’ Donovan…This couple really fell hard for each other.
This was SUCH a great read!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!!! OMG! Quinci!!!! Little miss Citrus Grove came to NYC and turned Dymon OUT! She shocked me! I mean mouth open 😵 She gave Dymon a run for his money. She was confident and had no problem speaking her mind regardless of who didn’t like it. I really loved their relationship and how it developed. Even before the love bloomed the communication and respect they had for each other was refreshing. I HIGHLY recommend this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You will not be disappointed! I hope we can get a story from Denim and Diesel. They were my favorite siblings. Dymon’s parents were trash, Derek was trash and Fiona was trash! This will definitely be a reread for me!
If your going to venture into a certain genre, be sure to go all in. I say that to say… making this couple dom/sub was laughable. Being that I actually read “dark”romance fiction. And this was a poor representation of it. Quinci and Dymon were just very sexually compatible… Freaks if I’m being honest. The Dom/Sub elements were glazed over and as a reader I felt like the writer dropped the ball on her research. But, the story was cute.
The book was inconsistent to me. While the plot had potential, there were too many gaps and inconsistencies that made it confusing
Quinci is actually the main reason I DNF at 80%. Her character development is inconsistent and poorly executed. She starts as a country girl with an old-soul vibe but quickly transforms into a blunt and sexually provocative character upon arriving in New York, without a transition. Her constant bluntness, especially during the family dinner, seemed out of place and unnecessary. Her behavior towards Dymon’s mother felt especially misplaced, as if she had a personal vendetta.
Dymon and Quinci : their deep connection is unclear. They seem to be primarily attracted to each other physically and sexually, but their relationship lacks depth. Quinci’s background, in particular, is not well-explored.
Dymon and his mom, I don't understand why Dymon harbors such intense animosity only towards his mother and not his father. It seems both parents should have faced equal scrutiny in his eyes.
I wanted to like the book but I don’t see how this is a close to a five star .
I was laying in bed, rubbing my feet together, smiling while reading about Princess and Mr. Dymon 😂 I enjoyed this so much, I could see myself reading it again. I loved Quinci. She represented us Southern gals well - we are sweet as pie but we don't take mess! She was not afraid to speak her mind & besides her beauty, that's what made Dymon fall for her immediately! I loved their chemistry and they were nasty 😋 🌶️ Dymon was out here running through women until he met Quinci. I loved how the tables turned and the man who never chased anyone - was head over heels for Quinci. There were some errors scattered throughout but they didn’t take away from the story for me.
Listen idk what I was expecting from this story, but it was not this lol. Ms. Endiya owes me nothing. I was not ready for the firecracker that Quinci was and neither was Dymon. Sis said don't let the small town fool ya, she was with the ish. Quinci went to New York to fulfill a long time dream of hers, but the unexpected chemistry between her and her boss was something out of the movies. Dymon was so out of his mind about her and I loved it! He was unknowingly singing you can have whatever you likkkkkke. Sis didn't really abuse it like I would've lol, but it was clear she had a hold on him. Dymon also had a hold on Quinci, everything she wanted for herself went out the door because all she wanted was to be with him.
Listen Dymon's BDE was loud and clear. Even though he was the dom he allowed her to take control sometimes and these two didn't hold back. We are talking sexy!! The spice alone was 10s across the board!
I enjoyed the families...both the functional and dysfunctional ones. They added dimension to the story and I think enhanced their relationship. Absolutely loved this book! Great recommendation from my book friend!
This author had me on the edge of my seat and horny as h*ll during the whole time I was reading this book. I can never look at oranges and be the same 😜. I absolutely loved the dynamic and camaraderie between Quinci and Dymon, they were truly meant to be and give the true meaning everything happens for a reason. I loved how fiesty yet loving Quinci was and how Dymon didn’t hold back from Quinci once they left the club. I need more and no I wouldn’t have been bored, I highly recommend this book 📚 you will not be disappointed!!!
This gets a highly recommend from me. It was a fun read even with some of the heavier parts. Quinci is now one of my favorite Sunshine characters because she is so sweet but she takes no sh*t from ANYONE. Dymon was a goner from the day he met her🤣. He was grumpy but couldn’t help but cater to Quinci. I don’t even know why they pretended like ending their relationship was a real possibility lol. I enjoyed their banter & the humor in this story. Dymon truly met his match. This was filthy & I loved it, loved their chemistry.
My only complaints: Kia’s weird a$$ & Dymon’s parents were for the trash & no one can change my mind.
I’m wondering if any of the other siblings will get a story 👀
Ms. Endiya Carter continues to outdo herself and Tempted By Danger was an exceptional book!! I am late to the party but this book had me anxious to read every chance that I could. I could not get enough of Dymon and Quinci - they had me on my toes. Between the intense love scenes, the friendly banter, and their protectiveness of each other, I cannot pinpoint my favorite thing. It just shows that no amount of money can bring true happiness and that’s what Quinci brought to Dymon’s life. It was refreshing to me that she was so mature and calm natured. She literally brought out the best in Dymon. 💕I can’t find the words but this is a must read book! I enjoyed it all!!
I cringed so many times while reading this, but I still planned to finish it—what’s a few cringy moments, right? But then there was that quote.
“Did you say ‘bid’? Bid? Bid, like an auction? My daughter was auctioning off her pussy?” couldn’t do it anymore. I stopped hours ago, and it’s still imprinted in my brain. 😭
UPDATE: YES I RE-READ THIS THE NEXT DAY AND CAN CONFIRM I ENJOYED JUST THE SAME! LISTENED TO HALF OF IT ON AUDIBLE AND WHILE I DIDN'T CARE FOR THE FEMALE NARRATORS TONE IT DIDN'T TAKE AWAY FROM HOW GOOD THIS STORY WAS! :)
Grumpy boss trope my be my favorite this year! But that didn’t stop Quinci! She stole Dymon’s heart from jump! Coming into this book I had no idea what to expect but I loved every second of it. Dymon was dealt a tough hand but we don’t get full clarity of the scale of bs he was dealing with until around 70% in! Let’s just say he deserved Quinci because he needed to be taken care of! Quinci was funny, sweet, bad ass southern girl from Florida! Her being a tall girl only added to my like for her! Her past meeting her present was an interesting turn of events. A few twists and turns but it led to a sweet HEA! Endyia Carter did a great job building up the family characters as well leaving room to write about each of them except DeClan. I can do without him! This book is 5stars for good writing and just being an overall good read that I know I will reread! Also the sec scenes?! Whew! Loved it! Definitely recommend this book!
This was a very, very pleasant surprise!!! This story had so much to love... Family drama ✔ Alpha male who meets his match✔ Feisty, strong black woman✔ Fun and Hilarious ✔ Hot, Steamy, Nasty S. E. X. ✔✔✔✔ HEA ✔
The character development and creativity of the storytelling makes this one of my favourite reads of 2022 thus far. It's a must read for any #BlackRomance fans!!!
The first few chapters didn’t capture my attention at first! It took until about the 4th chapter for things to pickup but when they did…THEY DID!!
Dymon was so mean & uptight at first! The relationship Dymon had with his family & how he was treated by his parents explained so much about why he was so mean & in constant competition to prove himself to them! I loved how Quinci came in & turned him into a completely different person! She was so sweet & loving from the very beginning but she did not take no mess from anybody!! She came in & was checking them folks from her very first day Dymon included 😭! I knew she was gonna be a problem, the best kind tho!!
The spice was spicingggg in this book!! Dymon & Quinci had me clutching my pearls A FEW TIMES!! I’ll never look at an orange the same 🙃😭! & the club scene… MY GAWD 🥴😭
This was my first read from this author& I can’t wait to get into the next book in the series!!
So many ways to go into this review. So I'll start by saying…filth. Pure filth. I'm sorry Dymon, you did what to her face?? Y'all have to read the book to know what I'm talking about and secondly, I live in Florida. Oranges are everywhere, I consume a lot of it… but after reading this, I'm not sure if I'll be able to anymore. Ya'll, this story made me it's bïťch. It had a hold on me to the point where I was losing sleep to read this. Saying the story was good is an understatement. Page after page after page I was hooked. Quinci was wild. She was absolutely wild and feisty. Dymon was feared by everyone. He had the mean boss thing going on…but here comes Quinci. She came off shy at first but messing with her has proven that Dymon-pardon me, Mr. Dymon- had the right one. There's a lot more I could say about the story but guys please do yourself a favor and read this book. Get into this book and indulge, and be ready to be immersed in one of the craziest best love stories. Second book by this author and it was everything. Family (good or bad) 10/10 Humor 10/10 Drama (tho not so much of it) 10/10 Sex 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/10 Love ❤️ ❤️/10
Okay, now this is my type of carrying on here. I loved me some Princess and Mr. Dymon.
Listen I was sat the entire time. This book had me hooked from the very first page! Quinci and Dymon’s chemistry was everything—flirty, fiery, and downright electric. Every scene between them had me smiling at my phone, cracking up at their banter, or fanning myself because whew!
Mr. Dymon Danger? The wild child turned CEO with heavy BDE. He had a reputation, but the moment he met Quinci, it was a wrap. The man who never chased anyone was suddenly willing to move heaven and earth for her.
This book had the perfect balance of humor, spice, and romance. The banter? Top-tier. The chemistry? Off the charts. And the story? Engaging from start to finish.
I can’t believe this book only got 2 stars from me. I was certainly expecting at least 4, but the dynamics here were so bizarre…
First off, Quinci called Dymon, ‘Mr. Dymon’ the entire book was disgustingly weird. Especially around her parents, his family, their friends. Like, why?
There’s no way people in the office didn’t notice them fraternizing when they rode tot he office together every day and he started switching up his attitude.
There’s no way in a million years Duncan and Vivian bought The Grove as a “thank you” to Quinci for her cussing them out, and Denim and Diesel are assholes for giving up that precious information to their parents.
At a base level, there were also a lot of grammatical errors. Not slang or purposefully grammatically incorrect, but missing words, misspelled words, jumbled words that didn’t make sense in the order they were in, etc.
I loved this story. I almost hated the writing. Mostly just the stuff Quinci did and said. Like I loved her character but the way she talked was the weirdest most annoying stuff I have ever read. And I’m really confused how I ended up reading this is the wrong order but since I did I was even more confused because the way Q is described in book 2 feels nothing like this character. It’s something about the way the writer infantilizes the FMCs in this series once they are with the mmc that i just don’t enjoy. But for an office place romance, which is my least favorite trope. I loved this story.
Well DAMN! I never knew an 🍊could be sooooo 🔥🤣 Dymon & Quinci matched each others freak so well. *inserts* Tinashe- Nasty Girl 😚 country girl shocked the hell out of me lol my favorite parts were when Princess was talking that shit to Mr. Dymon & letting him know she was in control 🤭
I enjoyed this so much. Next book is about Dymon older brother Diesel. I liked him more than Dymon 🫣 so I can’t wait to get into that!
Dymon danger is the epitome of sexxii!! I want him in real life lol.
Quinci is a bad ass!!!
The best part of the book, besides the entire thing, when he tapped her two times on the hip and she shut up!!! Drool worth omg I can’t stop thinking about it !!!
To the ending Message no endiya I could of kept reading about Mr, Dymon & princess!
This was so good I can see why it got so many reviews! Cause I’m late to the party My first read from Endiya and it will not be my last I am on to book 2 ! I really really enjoyed this Omg !! 🥰🥰🥰 whole lot of pause cause whewww!!!! ☺️ tap in!
The spice, the drama, just everything 😮💨 I opted for the audiobook and this story was just everything everyone raved it to be. I enjoyed it and literally laughed out loud at some parts of it. I’m looking forward to moving through the series and hope the other books are just as good.
I'm giving this 3 stars because while I enjoyed the ride the dom/sun relationship was unnecessary because it wasn't even properly explored. This was a regular relationship apart from her calling him Mr. Dymon... She says it so many damn times it was annoying as hell. I skipped so much of their conversation because she called him that every other word and when she did it at her parents house I was just over it... It quite literally ruined the book for me
