Haven Joules is the one that got away. After a devastating blow to the heart, she packed up everything and ran from the only life she knew. When she finally returns home with hopes of helping lead her family’s community center, she quickly finds her life falling apart. After allowing revenge to fuel her desire, she ends up trapped in a truth that could lead her down two different paths. No matter which one, her past has a hold on her future that she can’t outrun this time.
Mazure “Maz” Lyons has officially created his own lane with a black owned storage facility that provides the city with two levels of service – both lawful and lawless. With business running smoothly, his personal life ran wild as lines are blurred between the present and past. Loyalties are compromised when friends turned lovers and enemies clash in a push and pull that may never allow real love a chance in the midst of revenge.
They say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Haven didn’t know that’s exactly what she had done until it was too late. The fallout changed everything for Haven, Maz, and their small crew. For these two, the past was round one, and who would’ve thought the present would be round two?
Listen! This title fit this story perfectly! From the time Haven got on stage at the grand opening … I knew some stuff was about to hit the fan and the author DELIVERED! This was such a great read that I got irritated anytime I had to stop reading 🤣🥴 Just be ready for your jaw to drop because the ride is crazy! Happy reading 💖
They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but this mofo was on a thousand degrees with no relief in sight! Mad drama from the first page to the last, and I inhaled every word like I needed oxygen to breathe.
Both Haven’s and Kandi’s feelings and quest for revenge wrote a check they asses couldn’t cash. Ain’t no man worth this kind of madness. Repeat: Ain’t no man worth this kind of madness. If he don’t want you, LET HIM GO! If he had you and effed up, MOVE TF ON! If he tears you away from your family for damn near a decade, you need to kick ya own ass. Damani is a dog-ass, no-good, BAN in the worst way.
Whew…this story was so good, LOL. If it weren’t for Mazure’s fine, take-charge self, I would’ve been all through my Kindle raining blows LMAO. Click it up!
The title Torn Between Two was telling but not in the way that I expected, lol. This book was wild! The characters were off the chain and had me clutching my imaginary pearls, especially Haven with her revenge at Damian.
I will say, the book took me on a journey; I kept coming back until I looked up and was at the end. I loved everything about Maz! He loved Haven and went well above what was necessary to show her he was there regardless. I think the author did a good job with the storyline and the timely twists. The characters were well developed and each shared a designated role in the love triangle. Here I was thinking Damani was crazy; color me blind when Kandi literally lost her mind!! I wanted to throw my kindle because I could not take much more of Kandi, lol. Haven really shocked me-with her good girl image because she gave Kandi too many chances for my liking. This book is full of mess and pettiness that I could not get enough of!
1st of Whew you ain’t have to do us like that.🤧Mazure was definitely the true definition of a real one. It might have taken some time to adjust to the circumstances but he rose to the occasion and proved what a real man is. The storyline was very unique and couldn’t put it down. A ghetto mess with a splash of true love. Beautiful story
No offense to this author. But it is beyond disgusting to make a man forcefully impregnating someone (a literal crime) because he believes that he is owed her body as just something to move off on. It wasn’t cute it wasn’t some oh we can be a family, it’s disgusting, it’s weird, and it’s assault. Not to mention with not only exposing her to pregnancy he could’ve exposed her to so many other diseases. Stop writing stories with disgusting human beings and then attempting to give them a redemption arc, when they literally took someone’s bodily autonomy. The way that the author expects us to sympathize with that man is awful. You went out of your way to show a female character as a crazy woman and rightfully sent her to prison for what she did yet for some reason a man who commits assault is innocent because he apologized?? Do better as an author because this isn’t cute it literally ruined the whole book for me. Women shouldn’t have to suffer because of a man’s ego.
This was really good and have me in my feelings. 1st off I love Nye and how she was there for her big cousin. Haven came into her own on her own. My issue with Maz is that he was passive. He said he had love for her but had more respect for Damani in the past. This is my main reason he should stay in the past. They all had me messed up when it came to Haven. Then her mom and dad and everyone still wanted to be considerate of Damani’s feelings when he is married with kids. Haven was stronger than the men and she was soft and feminine so that says a lot! It’s almost like her family was even torn between Maz, Damani and her their blood. Lord knows what would’ve happened if Nye wasn’t so loyal to her and willing to cross distance to be there.
This one is going to take you on an emotional ride!! All I can say is that damn Damani and Kandi are truly a piece of work and you will find that out as your read this story. Patience and healing and owning up to your mistakes but not wallowing in them were take aways for me in this story. If I can't have the kind of love that Mad and Haven had minus some of the drama (lol), then I want no parts of it. Maz is bae Numero uno for me!! Is it weird that a part of me wants to know what happens between Damani and Kandi?? I also wouldn't mind knowing if anything happens between Neem and Nya...just putting it out there lol
Whew my girl Lex C. Is back!! And what a way to re-emerge!! It was pretty cool how Haven and Maz came back together after all that time and he stuck by her regardless of the situation. I was shocked at the paternity of the babies but I was low key hoping that they were both Maz’s. That crazy Kandi deserved more time in jail too. Smh… but before I say too much I’m gone stop right here!!
Kandi is the kinda girl that is blinded by her own envy. She was so busy trying to one up Haven that she didn't see how she was still at the bottom of Damani's heart. Maz made me mad a couple times acting like a man🙄 just stubborn. He knew he didn't want Haven to be with anyone else. Damani was very childish I didn't like him at all. I love Nye I feel like her & Neem will be a good match to balance each other out.
First of all let me just say I loved Maz. The drama began from the beginning and it never ended. I was fully invested in this story. Damani was trash! Kandi was just as bad as he was and she brought all that mess on herself. I couldn't put this book down. Read it and see for yourself.
I never know what to expect when Alex C drops a gem and I was not disappointed 🥰. These characters are family and friends we could see everyday and that is why this author always gets my attention when she releases a new story. The drama, love, and shenanigans are on 💯. No spoilers but be ready to love on Maz!
I loved Maz from the beginning. He was a natural protector. I wasn't upset about the move Haven pulled because revenge can easily cloud someone's judgment and Kandice got her karma. D should've had charged filled against him for that move he pulled, wrong on so many levels. Another great read by Ms. Lex C
This was a most enjoyable read. It took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I laughed, and I cried. I am so glad things turned out like they did. I look forward to reading more from this author.
The twist & drama of this book had my mouth dropped in shock. Even had me Google some things! 🤣 I really enjoyed reading this characters and how they moved forward in a very unique situation. Would love to have a update on them & the twins in the future
I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just say Maz is everything in a man that a woman could want and more. If you’re looking for a man with boss and BDE, read this book!
