I received this book as part of a giveaway from goodsreads. The synopsis sounded interesting so I figured I’d give it a go. First, the book came within a few weeks of announcing I had won. There was also a letter signed by the author thanking me for showing interest in his book. Now let’s get to the book…
It was a short read, about 155 pages. It took me so long to get through it because it wasn’t consistent enough for me. Nothing about the story once I started reading was really drawing me in. A lot of things I felt could have been described in more detail. The format of the writing was different for me as well. It seemed rushed at times. The story had some potential though. Some of the twists were not expected, but tying the story together in some ways missed the mark for me. 3 stars overall for a rating.
I wish this author good luck in his future writing endeavors!
Today I received a package at my door. I was not expecting anything and was thrilled to discover that I had won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. As I have many other books on my TBR list, I hadn't initially planned to read something new. Boy, am I glad that I did! This book was amazing! I could not put it down and read it through in one sitting. It was such a wonderful story. Thank you so much for this awesome prize!
I received this book after winning a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you to the author and goodreads for my copy.
I was able to read this in one sitting and found it having potential. There were a lot of religious parts to this story, which I personally do not enjoy reading about. Other than that, the story was interesting...it just seemed like there needed to be more time spent fleshing out the details. The pace was quick, at times too quick, and a lot of the explanations felt rushed.
I'd like to thank the author for sending me this book in exchange for a fair review. The book was a change of pace for me because it is a mystery mixed with a little bit of what I guess you could call paranormal things occurring in the story. The story was very good and there are a few good twists and turns. It is a fairly quick read and I would definately read books by this author in the future.
I was pulled in pretty quick by the different back stories of so many characters. The story has many twists and turns, holding my attention. Though the story was well written, it was impossible for me to not be annoyed by the continuous errors of missing words within sentences. How could so many errors get past proof reading? I would have given it another star if it were not for that. Forcing myself past that negative element, I continued on several times with a heavy sigh each time.
The story becomes quite suspenseful, page after page, reveling detailed events one after another plunging the reader deeper and deeper still. I do like tree houses myself-
I won this book on GoodReads and it was signed by the author! It was very interesting but I believe this would be a better fit for a young teenager than a grown woman lol! But a delightful read!
I had no intention of reading this when I received it from Goodreads Giveaways. However, I am so glad I did. This was great. I loved the flow and how fast I was able to read it. The characters were great and I am going to even see if my 15yr old will read it. I think this is worth the read!
Leinad Platz does it again. He blends just the right amount of mystic with reality and makes a wonderful story happen. I actually cried near the end as this was such a beautiful story. The characters are everyday people who get caught up in extraordinary circumstances beyond their control. They don't take it lying down, though. I want to know these people, or some of them anyway. There were a few who had no redeeming qualities, by choice.
This is not my typical style book of choice, but I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something different. It held my attention and I couldn’t put it down. It pulled me in as though I was right there experiencing the journey myself. It’s definitely taught me to expand my reading taste.
Received book as giveaway. Interesting story with well developed characters for a short book. This would not be typical book I would pick up to read. The story was sad at times especially for the main character Dustin...
This was an interesting book with great characters. Some of the characters had secrets to unravel and there were lots of plot twists! It was a very good quick read. Thank you Mr. Platz
Overall interesting story. So many things got skipped in areas, the book could have been a little longer to be able to fill in the gaps better.
I never really understood what happened to Dustin's father. And I struggled with how Dustin acted throughout the book, he seemed much younger than the 16. The end also felt very rushed, not only the wrap up of who and what caused it all to occur but also the epilogue to wrap what happened to everyone. It also felt over the top with the quantity of deaths and building fires.
Received this in one of the giveaways. Was pleasantly surprised as to how the story kept my attention. I wanted to keep going to see how it all turned out.
Like others, I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway. It an easy read with the bones of a decent story line. However, the narrative got a little too fantastical for my personal tastes, and perhaps seemed to me to get more odd just for the sake of being odd. I would characterize the genre as fantasy in light of the "magical" properties of the treehouse. I had a hard time getting past the lack of editing/typos throughout.
3.5 Very fast-paced, but a little jarring in storytelling at times. And quite a few grammatical errors that made it a tiny bit distracting to read. Overall, I'm not disappointed.
I so enjoyed Secrets of the Tree House! Wonderful story line and such well developed characters. Mr. Plato has told a story of the human condition and faith. This is the very first Goodreads giveaway I’ve won and I thoroughly recommend reading it.
Disclaimer, I did receive this book via a Goodreads giveaway. Overall, not a bad book, enjoyable to read, but a little predictable. Good characters, fun storyline. Seemed as if the story took a religious turn towards the end, which isn't really to my taste, but tied everything up pretty well.
I won this book in a GoodReads Giveaway! It was a very good book though at times confusing. Overall I liked this book and would read more from this author in the future.
This one was a goodreads giveaway book I won. I’d give it less than one star, if possible. This book had elementary writing, poor grammar, too many typos and a lackluster story.
The timelines were rushed. I had no idea how large this town was. The kid must have been a marathon biker for how often he raced across town on his bicycle. The conversation between characters was odd, leaving interactions feeling quite clunky.
The writing overall felt too preachy and many of the plot points were over-descriptive dead ends. I’m relieved that it was only 160 pages.
I do thank the author for sharing his work! This book just wasn’t my jam.
This book started out strong but quickly fell apart. The story suddenly felt rushed and the characters had no depth. While the story at first felt believable, it quickly disintegrates, as if the writer had somewhere else to be.
Disliked this book. The plot was all over the place and too fast. You learned so many random details about some characters and then the main plot moved so fast it didn’t make sense. It’s also a secret Jesus book and if you listen to it as an audiobook I think they got Jaime Taco to read it.
