Watch a dog for three weeks, get fifteen thousand dollars. Piece of cake, right?
Wrong.
First, I have to stay in my client’s guesthouse while he’s in the main house working on an important project. That may not sound so bad, but HE is Hollywood’s Bad Boy, Rocco Romano, voted “Sexiest Man Alive.”
The guy could charm the pants off a mannequin.
Luckily he’s not my type.
Seriously.
A rich, sexy, generous man? Pass. Ten-pack abs? Whatever.
My heart palpitations are obviously caused by something else.
As for the dog, he’s sweet and adorable, but he’s named Houdini for a reason.
Then I accidentally kiss him.
Rocco, not the dog.
Then he escapes.
The dog, not Rocco.
Things can’t get any worse, right?
Wrong, wrong, wrong.

3.5 🌠 I’m normally a hopeless romantic but some books make me go… you know… 👉🏻👈🏻 I liked it overall but found it boring in some parts. And again I loved the ending but I say this for every romance 🙈I don’t know what was the point of having all this drama and keeping the book this long if the characters will fell in love right away. While I love the slowburn romance, I secretly wished it to get it over with already at some parts. Still, it made me smile in many parts and of course my favorite character was Houdini!
This pretty average and I hate to say it but boring. There were times when the plot thickens or the character arc bends but all of it comes crashing down really fast. I don't know why but I didn't really get the chemistry between the characters and the side characters were pretty annoying to me for some reason. I also thought the hero was kinda jerk idk why.
Tropes: •forces proximity •celebrity romance •kind of miscommunication
4💫 Really cute and fun Novel, I had such fun reading this one because it was seriously hilarious, the first half was fabulous 😁 It felt like reading @kikimoji(Emma st.Claire books ) but not completely, there's so much difference between the writing but I'm talking about the fun talk This book has that enemies to lovers banter I loved, celebrity trope, and what I loved mostly the characters didn't shy away from their own dreams and did not compromise on their self worth for others but we're strong They were emotional and fully in love too! That's a great combination The Dog stole the show too!! 😏😸🥰
Extreme talk about the dog & animals' bowel movements wasn't that fun though but a good attempt
I would definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a fun & swoonyy rom-com Go for it! 💫

Houdini is a dog you really want to meet – from a distance probably. Poor Rocco Romano’s script was in Houdini’s mouth. The dog really likes tearing up paper. And other habits that mean you must constantly be on guard. He’s not mean, just doing his doggie things. So Rocco needs to hire someone to watch him for three weeks while Rocco gets some peaceful time to work on his latest project. He hires Beth who must stay in his guesthouse and babysit Houdini. This is not as easy as it sounds.
From the first page to the last, you will be laughing, crying, and living the adventure. You won’t want to miss this hilarious book.
If you were asked to babysit a dog for three weeks for $15,000, you'd jump at the chance thinking easy money.
Beth was staying at Rocco Romano's guesthouse while he's in the main house reading through scripts to decide his next project.
Rocco Romano, voted sexiest man alive, is adored by nearly every single woman in the world, with his Hollywood bad boy persona.
Beth is NOT interested in him in the slightest after he caused her to lose her job as a chef a few years before.
Houdini the dog is just that... Houdini. In the blink of an eye he can escape, he likes to chew paper up to mulch, just generally being a dog wanting attention.
This book is not my normal read, but I found I was laughing out loud through this. The banter between Beth and Rocco, which includes no flirting whatsoever after Beth signing disclosure stating this as one of the points. Of course there is a happy ending, but the journey to that point is hilarious!
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this before publication.
Rich Amooi never fails in delivering a great romcom. I’m not even a fan of dogs, cats are more my thing but I still knew I would get a cracking read with fantastic characters.
I was not wrong… Beth was adorable, Rocco well I’m pretty sure he hadn’t stuffed a socko in his jocko and was a sweltering hot leading man in more ways than one. Then there was the assistant, the brother and best friend Holly, and canine Houdini giving me plenty to smile about too. However there was another character who stole my heart and that was the pooh obsessed neighbour and widow Douglas.
With movie mentions, misunderstandings and escapology this was like Houdini, a bundle of fun and mischief.
A brilliant enemies to lovers book with a well placed contract clause preventing flirting and kissing from both sides. Who will break first???
Firstly - this book gets 5 stars and a huge recommendation from me for donating a share of each book purchase to SPCA for the safe welfare of animals - who wouldn’t want to buy a book on that premise?! Secondly, it’s a great read - fun, lighthearted, a lot like a hallmark film - in that nothing bad or problematic happens, it’s delightful and safe and a really enjoyable read. 100% recommend!
i truly feel in love with this book and found not put it down. the characters were amazing and felt real. the witty banter was fun and flirty the author writes very well and in a way that pulls you in and keeps you in the life of the book and it's characters cant wait to see what else this author writes and to read more from them I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this book so much I read it in a day. I could not put it down. I loved the witty charm between both the main characters Rocco and Beth. I was laughing many times throughout the book. I thought this was one of the best Rom Coms I have read in a long time.
First lets talk about Rocco who is a A-List celebrity who owns a dog name Houdini. Rocco needs to read through a bunch of scripts but has a hard time because Houdini eats the scripts and basically distracts Rocco. In comes Beth a chef who wants to start her own business and the money Rocco is willing to pay for her to watch Houdini while he reads the pile of scripts in his office.
The banter between the characters was so darn funny at times you burst out laughing. Houdini the lovable dog also has his own characteristics hence his name he is good a disappearing.
Rich Amooi weaved an awesome Rom Com that engages you throughout the book. He did a fantastic job with character development they came to life as you read the story. I personally would love to see this story turn into a movie it was that good. I cannot stop praising this book and highly recommend this book to anyone who needs some laughter and a pick me up also to anyone who loves romantic comedy.
Thank you to Netgalley and Rich Amooi for giving me a copy of the book for an honest review.
Watch a dog for three weeks, get fifteen thousand dollars. Piece of cake, right? Wrong!
Rich has done it again with a romantic story that makes you laugh out loud, more than once. The story is definitely entertaining, enjoyable and captivates you from the start. The characters are fun, enjoyable, engaging and you feel like you've known them for years. I highly recommend this book! You won't be disappointed.

Rocco, the drop dead gorgeous movie star, needs to hire a dog sitter to care for his dog, Houdini. It's a live in position. The dog sitter & the dog would live in the guest house for three weeks so Rocco could throw himself into his work. Enter Beth, a budding entrepreneur. Beth is hired, contract with addendum is signed and the adventure begins. I loved it!
I was in the mood for something light and Men or Paws was absolutely perfect. I liked the setup a lot (Hollywood star and dog sitter) plus I found both hero and heroine likable. I'm also a sucker for any romances where a pooch is one of the supporting characters. The romance is very sweet and although I wasn't expecting it to be so clean, I enjoyed the novel immensely.
Rich has done it again. I love reading his books and the quirky characters. He always makes sure his characters have witty personalities. Even though you know that the boy gets the girl, it’s fun to experience their journey.
I have been reading books by Rich Amooi for quite a while, and I think this one is my new favorite. The two main characters are likeable people, both following their dreams and building their careers. The banter flows realistically, and it is hard to put this book down. Throw in projectile penguin pooping, beautiful dogs, an aspiring assassin, and you have a winning formula for fun and romance. Recommended.
Thank you @NetGalley and @RichAmooiAuthor for allowing me to read this advanced copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own.

Romantic Comedy - Celebrity Romance 406 Pages
Summary by Me
Rocco Romano is Hollywood’s bad boy, the Sexiest Man Alive, and in need of a dog sitter for 3 weeks while he concentrates on a project. His agent recommends one of his client’s sisters and tells Rocco no need to worry because she can’t stand you. So she won’t be a crazy stalker or want to sleep with him.
Beth is wanting to open her own organic dog treat business but is a little short on funds when her brother calls to let her know about a dog sitting job that’s going to pay $15,000 for three weeks and she’d be crazy to pass it up. The only hitch? It’s for Rocco Romano, the spoiled celebrity, that cost her her chef job when she refused to do a special order for him.

Analysis
First off, this book was hilarious. Don’t go into it expecting a serious minded love story. I was laughing so hard my husband filmed me then asked me what was so funny. I had to calm myself down to let him know that it was a line in the book.
Anyway, this book was sweet, funny, and really really good. I could barely put it down. The characters have depth (the MCs and the side characters), even the golden retriever had dimension. I am going to recommend this book to all of my romantic comedy friends for sure.
Oh did I mention, a man wrote this book? This book was way beyond my expectations.

Rocco Romano the big A-lister Hollywood Super Star dubbed the ‘sexiest man alive’ needs a temporary sitter for his newly adopted dog, Houdini. Enter in Beth. Since Beth’s brother is a famous comedian he shares the same agent as Rocco who lines Beth up with the position. The only problem is Beth loathes & despises Rocco, but out of desperation and the need for money, to start her own business, she accepts the job.
From the very first page this book is hilarious and I couldn’t put it down. This book put the biggest smile on my face. I never laughed so much reading a book before. I’m completely crushing on this book 😍This is a MUST READ!! The humor in this is off the charts. The banter between Rocco and Beth, especially in the beginning, is beyond golden. I was instantly hooked and then 6 hours later I was in tears with a book hangover because I never wanted it to end 🥰
What I loved: ▪️ The premise of the story was great ▪️The writing style, the hilarious humor and the engaging characters A plus ▪️Beth - She’s a pill and I love her character’s personality ▪️Rocco - Loved his character as well (swooooon) 😍 Especially his Hawaiian Roll ten pack abs, lol. ▪️Unproblematic MC’s ▪️Houdini the Dog ❤️ ▪️The guesthouse kitchen scene when they share dinner, the zoom call - ruff ruff. I died laughing. These were definitely my favorite scenes, welp! RIP me ☠️😂 ▪️The heart swelling romance which was so swoon worthy and sweet! ▪️ The ending was pure magic. ▪️ EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THIS BOOK!
I definitely need a physical copy of this book for my selves now. This is going on my ‘top reads’ list IMMEDIATELY ❤️ This book has 5 stars on Amazon currently, and for good reason. The HYPE is real! I highly recommend this book if you want a sweet, funny swoonworthy clean romance with absolutely no nonsense. Thank you to @netgalley for this #arc in exchange for my honest review.
Rocco Romano bad boy of Hollywood. Sexy movie star. Beth Myers. Ex chef now entrepreneur of organic animal treats. Sister of Josh Myers. Oliver, Rocco’s and Josh’s agents. Rocco needs a live in dog sitter for Houdini (yes it’s the perfect name for him)3 weeks and Oliver suggested Beth. Who by the way does not like anything Rocco Romano. And the story takes a most hilarious turn. I feel that this is Rich Amooi’s best book. The banter, the humor the storyline is just what a story needs. Rocco needs an NDA signed and Beth decided she needs to add her own rules to it. The way Rocco teases Beth and Beth teases Rocco is comic genius! This story has THE best lead up kiss ever in the history of books!! Then the author turns around and smashes our hearts out. I really enjoyed the side characters as well. Rocco’s neighbor Douglas is a retired zoo keeper who loves to talk about animal poop. There are moments in the story that pull at your heart, and understand there are two sides to every story. We find out why Beth does not line Rocco is a very moving moment of their feelings towards each other. Nothing is as it seems. I highly recommend this story for all its humor, love and wonderful moments. Especially in these times when we all can use some laughter and smiles!
I was in the mood for something light-hearted and fun, so when I spied Men or Paws by Rich Amooi on Amazon, an author whose books never fail to cheer me up, I thought I'd give it a read.
Beth needs money to set up her new dog treat business, and just her luck, she's offered to dog sit for three weeks and earn fifteen thousand dollars. There's one big problem, it's Rocco Romano's dog. Rocco Romano, one of the sexiest actors alive and someone who Beth has had a run in with before and thinks he's nothing but a spoilt Hollywood star. Can she stand working for him for three weeks?
Men or Paws ticked all my rom com needs. Great chemistry and banter between the main characters, slow burn romance, a very cute dog and some laugh out loud moments.
For most of the novel, I wasn't Rocco's biggest fan. Yes, he did a lot of nice and kind things, giving to charity etc, but he was too cocky and judgmental when it came to what he called 'Hollywood women'. By the end, I warmed up to him a bit.
If you like your romcoms, with just a dash of steaminess (nothing too explicit), funny moments and a happily ever after, then I'd highly recommend Men or Paws to you!
Beth is dreaming on building her own dog treat business, and that takes a lot of time and money. Beth's brother Josh ends up scoring her an amazing job that will help her start her business. However, when she finds out her boss will be Rocco Ramono, she's a little upset. With Beth's bad memory that happened with him awhile back makes her not want to take the job as a dog sitter for him, she thinks about the money and how it will help her and agrees. Beth is dog sitting Rocco's dog Houdini for a couple weeks while Rocco is trying to find his next gig as an actor. At first things are a little shaky, but over time they become friends and start to like each other. I absolutely loved this book and I'm so thankful I got to receive an arc for it. This book was so cute and really funny. I'm always looking for a book that can make me laugh. Go get yourself a copy right now, it's out right now and is waiting to be read by you!
This is my first time reading something by this author and I can tell you it won't be my last. I absolutely loved this book! Romantic comedies have been my jam lately, and this one definitely fits the bill. From the first page till the very last this book will keep you smiling and the smile on your face will still be there long after you have finished. With an enemies to lovers trope this gives you a fun and cute, hilarious story that is sure to give you all the feels. The characters were wonderful and felt so relatable, I couldn't help but fall in love with them. The storyline had a nice smooth flow and the romance was wonderful and there were plenty of humorous moments that had me laughing out loud or just generally left me with a smile on my face. I found this to be a thoroughly entertaining and absolutely adorable story and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to read it.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This one I jumped on the opportunity to read it as an arc and was so good, love the way the author actually writes it so cool and fun and you still have a lot of drama to hype on. This one I jumped on the opportunity to read it as an arc and was so good, love the way the author actually writes it so cool and fun and you still have a lot of drama to hype on.
The writing is amazing for me super light and fun and that keep me coming back to this author every time.
Rocco was so adorable really he had a very good heart and you needed to know him to actually know him in a way, because if not it did cause a lot of misunderstanding a lot of thing he did.
Beth was so fun and omg all the juicy misunderstanding in this XD love it so much and she was so nice too, she did have great dreams and I like that she n=knew what she wanted in life.
By the end I wanted this to just go on and on since I was having so much fun really
I absolutely LOVED this story! Rich Amooi really knows how to write laugh out loud romance with characters you are sure to love! Rocco is known for his bad-boy Hollywood image and hires Beth to help dog sit so he can get through reading scripts which his dog Houdini keeps trying to ingest. Little does Rocco realize their paths have crossed before but it wasn’t so pretty and Beth isn’t necessarily a fan. Rich’s writing is always witty, such as the line “the woman who mangles what dangles.” And you’re sure to love Rocco’s quirky neighbor who knows more about poop than an average school-age kid trying to be amusing. Couldn’t put this enjoyable book down and had to read it through to the end in one sitting! Such fun!
I liked this book! I thought it was really cute, lighthearted, and a fast read. I enjoyed the sarcasm, banter, and loving humor between the main characters. As a fellow dog lover, I really enjoyed the dog enthusiasm throughout. I thought this was overall a really cute story.
Rocco, a Hollywood bad boy, needs a caretaker for his mischievous dog Houdini, during working hours so he can focus on reading scripts for his next project. His agent finds him a dogsitter, Beth, to look after Houdini, not knowing that Beth knew Rocco from the past (and had a great dislike for him). She needs the money to open her own business so she agrees to dogsit for him and stay on the property.
I loved the supporting characters about as much as I loved the lead characters. I thought the story was compelling, uplifting, and interesting. Would recommend!
I loved, loved, loved this book. I always think Rich Amooi’s latest book is my favorite but this one really does top the list. The characters are so well developed with interesting back stories and connections. Rocco and Beth had the best chemistry despite them initially denying their attraction. Houdini, a truly intelligent and hysterically funny dog, was so darn lovable. It was heartwarming that Rocco and Beth were so devoted to him and his well-being. There was something for everyone to like in this book including some very impressive classic cars. This is a feel good read from start to finish. The sad moment comes when you realize you are at the end of the book! Can’t wait for the next book from one of my very favorite authors! So happy that some of the proceeds go to the SPCA International.
Apart from the unfortunate title and names in the book 'captain clapton'? It was an overall funny, light hearted romance. The lead up to the first kiss to forever even though the characters had insta love like within one week declaring love. It was an odd pace to be madly in love with each other but not even having a first kiss for the first 80%.
I don't know usually i would say a book needs to be slow burn or insta love combining the two tropes didn't mesh well for me.
It was a quick and light hearted romance so would pick up more books by this author.

Quick Take: Is it any surprise that Rich Amooi wins again with hilarious rom-com?! Only thing that confused me was the title, I thought it was going to be a pun about menopause.
I loved the relationship between Beth and Rocco. I loved his sweet dog Houdini and all the characters throughout the story. Douglas's conversations were laugh out loud worthy and I loved all the fun tidbits written in. I also happen to be a huge fan of Grease...no spoilers but this was so much fun!
This would make for a great Hallmark Channel book to movie. Now thoughts, who would you cast as the main leads?
Tip: This book may be available on Kindle Unlimited!
My Review Rating: 5 / 5
Recommendation: Clean sweet hilarious rom-com. For all fans of rom-coms!
Favorite Quote: Sometimes the most disappointing things in life are exactly what we need to send us down a different path toward our destiny.
Men or Paws (Paperback) by Rich Amooi This book gets more than 5 stars. Rocco and Beth kept me laughing from the very beginning and except for a bump in the road and a few tears toward the end I never stopped enjoying their banter and I loved Houdini and all the other main characters in this book. Rich keeps the book flowing with all the feels, laughter, love, misunderstandings to get everyone to a HEA. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Funny Easy-to-read Great word building Entertaining Page-turner Happily Ever After Romantic Wonderful characters
