Wade Rivers finally has what he’s always wanted, his best friend Jason Thomas as his boyfriend. Their first date, hopefully the first of many, starts out with a simple dinner, but Wade has a surprise in store for Jason. They end up at a haunted house exhibit for Halloween. Wade finds out that Jason loves investigating the paranormal, but he’s not as enthused about the other attractions. When they meet up with a fellow paranormal researcher, Jimbo, their fun night gets more frightening with each room in the haunted house. From the beginning to the end, they’ll visit every nightmare imaginable, and they’ll all find out some truths about each other they never thought would come to light. 16,933 words. Novella length.
A great short story to this series! This does the excellent job of both giving the cute story of Jason and Wade's first official date, as well as addressing some of the concerns that were lingering at the end of the first book.
For their first date Wade surprises Jason and brings him to a Haunted House Experience- an attraction for Halloween! The amusing part is that while Wade had always enjoyed things like horror movies and made up haunted houses, this is what Jason is afraid of. Their roles are flipped as Jason does this because he loves Wade and knows how much Wade likes it, even is Jason is terrified. Seeing that reversal from the first book is both amusing and very sweet!
This short also does an excellent job of addressing one of the lingering concerns from the first book. After the whole experience in The Vineyard House, Jason and Wade know that spirits and ghosts are real and they can interact with them. Jason also now knows that ghosts can cause harm. Suddenly he has fear of real haunted houses too, as he wants to keep Wade safe. This short addresses this new fear and also more development of their abilities. Very well done!
Side note- I think the little girl ghost was real and I hope we get to see more from that!
Ghost Haunted is a short story set right after Ghost Hunted ends, so it needs to be read in order or you'll be lost. Ghost Hunted was really good, especially if you like this kind of paranormal book with ghosts and spirits, so don't miss out!
Wade and Jason are finally together and going out on their first date. Wade wants to pull out all the stops and plans a surprise for Jason, which he hopes won't backfire on him.
This was a very good addition to the series and a good way to move the guys forward and have their relationship be on a more solid ground before the new book arrives. It was intriguing, entertaining and yes, a bit scary, too. I'm already looking forward to more!

In 'Ghost Haunted: Valley Ghosts series, Book 1.5, we get to see Wade Rivers and Jason Thomas on their first official date as boyfriends after being long-time friends. Following dinner out, Jimbo joins them in a visit to a haunted house exhibit for Halloween that is truly terrifying though not authentically haunted. The guys are locked in and are herded along through the attraction filled with terror-inducing animatronics and horrifically costumed human play actors. Each area of the attraction is themed: From 'the gates of hell' through to 'a mad doctor's lab', the guys are chased along without surcease and no options of going back! Talk about a scare! After managing to get through the ordeal, the guys visit Jimbo's sister Janice and learned a bit about their special gifts. Wade is an empath who is able to feel what others need emotionally. Jason being always aware of spirits is able to contact and interact with them. This also comes with a vulnerability to possession. Jimbo is a beacon that can attract spirits, though his inability to interact with them will make them angry. Janice is a medium that agrees to teach them how to shield and protect themselves from spirits. The entire series is beautifully narrated by Allen Jeffries! Warning to the powers at Disney Parks: Please don't hire this writer to design your haunted house attraction! No visitor will escape it without peeing and/or pooping themselves! 😆
Let's just say it's a good thing Jason is not a scarity cat as I am, because if THAT had been my first date, it would very well be the last as well! I had my heart in my throat the entire time and yeah, a Halloween haunted house may be fun, but this one was super freaky! Listening to it was fun, though, and I loved the narration! Can't wait for more advantures for these two and the new addition to the team, Jimbo. (also, there's a lovely appearence from two of BL Maxwell's most beloved characters!)
What do a graveyard, the undead, clowns, dolls , and spiders add up to, me running the other way.... But that is beside the point, it equals a scaretastic time and is only half of what our favorite ghost hunters go through on their first date
Wade and Jason have a very spooky date and I loved it. It was an easy read for me. From start to finish I was entertained and spooked. I loved tagging along with the guys and Jimbo. It was such a great read!
It only took a quick 45 minutes to read. It is a fun read but if you have ever been in a haunted house it is not anything new. It does set up the next book nicely though.
Wade and Jason are now boyfriends, and they go on their first date, dinner and a night out at a haunted house exhibit for Halloween. Unfortunately, Jimbo gate-crashes the second part of their date, and things go from bad to worse. Even though I wouldn't say I like horror films and ghosts, I adored these books, and they don't make me jump, which is always a bonus. Also, I love the dynamics between the main characters and their friends and family.
The narration was OK, but I did wince at some of the characters performed by Allen Jefferies, especially the female voices. This was a short read/listen and was made shorter by increasing the speed, which is typical for me.

I received this audiobook for free from the author at my request. My review is my opinion and an honest review - nor did the author influence my opinion.
Jason and Wade's first official date. Wade surprises Jason for their first date and brings him to a Haunted House Experience - preHalloween attraction. While Jason enjoys everything related to ghosts and haunted houses, he is afraid of all the usual characters from horror (zombies, vampires, etc... and especially clowns), for Wade it is exactly the opposite - he enjoys horror, while he is afraid of ghosts and haunted houses.
While this role reversal was fun, the story left a lot to be desired. It suffers from the same things as the first book - repetitiveness, bland romance and single POV. What actually makes this story even less interesting is that Wade, Jason and Jimbo are acting very juvenile. Which is unconvincing for a character (Jimbo) who is supposedly in his late forties.
The story seemed much longer than it actually is, which doesn't do it any favors.
This was a new author for me, which I didn't realise they had to be read in other for the series.. An okay a ghost story. This reminded me of the house of horrors anything and everything will come out at yah.. scenes of ghosts, vampires, zombies, and scary clowns and more. This was well written but really how many rooms did they have to enter for this book. The ending is too coincidental for me. Wade and Jason had been friends until a first ghost haunting experience together they confessed their feelings.. Wade a powerful empath and Jason a draw for spirits. Teaming with Jimbo they formed the paranormal ghost investors team. (KU read) (Edited)
Wade and Jason go on a date to HAUNTED HOUSE. How wicked was that of Wade to drag Jason to a haunted attraction? Omg and guess who is standing behind them in line? A very familiar couple from BL Maxwell's other books! MY HEART EXPLODED. That's how much I love them. Then I got to read about their adventures in the haunted house. The scariest scenes: zombies, CLOWN, EVIL CLOWN, and the fiery pits of hell. It set the stage really nicely for their next adventure. This is one of my favorite series by BL Maxwell because let's face it...I LOVE ALL OF HER BOOKS. Her paranormal books are really nicely written and sets the perfect mood for my heart to handle all the spookiness.
This is the perfect book to read at Halloween. Wade & Jason go on their first date and end up st a haunted house. Jimbo and two others are along for the ride! It was one creepy haunted house and I can see why our guys got so scared. It was super high on the spooky and creepy factor, they Dialed it up to a hundred!
I got a bit confused who's POV it was at times and I had to reread things to figure it out! I still love Wade & Jason, and they opened up to each other at the end. I just can't wait to read the next book.
Ghost Haunted is a spooky Halloween inspired story where Wade decides to take Jason on an unforgettable first date. With spooks and scares at every turn and a couple of surprise visitors in this novella, it’s sure to be a hit with anyone who likes to be spooked and creeped out! Well written and loving the continuation from Ghost Hunted! Plus you get a little insight into the characters in preparation for the second full length story!
A great short story, if you like haunted houses. Wade takes Jason on a first date as lovers, and not as the best friends they had always been. The haunted house is extremely life like and very well done. Jimbo joins them and introduces them to his sister at the end, which is the lead in for the next book. Looking forward to it.
I loved this book. It was super funny. Wade Rivers finally get what he desires most Jason Thomas as his boyfriend. Wade takes Jason on a date. But Wade has a surprise in store that might scared the life out of Jason. What better than a haunted house? Jason loves paranormal investigation but haunted houses not so much. With their friend Jimbo joining them they are all in for a scare.
Have you ever been to a haunted house spooktaculer that made the blood freeze in your veins? Maybe made you scream and almost pee yourself? This place would make me have a heart attack! Read at your own risk hahaha. This book was a blast. No ghosties this time but plenty creepy.
This was okay. It has guys going into a Halloween haunted house. It describes each room. Short story, so I never have enough time to attach. More descriptive writing of surroundings than anything.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the Perfect example of a bittersweet read for me. I loved the first book and this one made me love it more. I held off reading it though because I knew I’d want more. I am so glad I found this author. This book shows exactly why. Usually short reads are good but don’t tend to pull you in that deep. Add in the fact that it all takes place in one evening and you’d think you wouldn’t get as much out of it. Guess what? You get so much, not just the characters but the background and series set up. I can’t wait to see how their physic community grows. Now comes the hard part. Waiting for more. I know that I’ll be making this series an annual Halloween read and look forward to its continued growth. www.reviewsforthosewholoveagoodbook.w...
Remind me never to go to a haunted house with BL Maxwell. Go Wade though on choosing a memorable first date. I’m with Jason on clowns, absolutely hate them and I am terrified of spiders. L That is one amazingly realistic and scary haunted house. I forgot how Jason attracts certain types. This is the house that keeps on giving even when you want it to stop. Wow, way to hold back, Jimbo. “The three of you together can do more than any of you alone.” Can’t wait to see what troubles they find next.
This author seriously knows how to blend romance and suspense in her stories. I felt like I was a fly on the wall wathing everything, unfolding before my eyes 😍😍😍😍😍.
