A year ago, I took the opportunity to spend one night with the mysteriously sexy man I had been dreaming about for two decades. When reality beckoned the next morning, I walked away from him and resumed my life, carrying my broken heart with me.
Now, the one thing I never expected to see has happened, and I am about to reenter the timeless world of Jack Perry. Where his fame impresses no one, least of all himself. Where days and nights become blurry, and clocks cease to exist. A place where passion and lust will land me on the doorstep of an explosive confession.
Above all else, this is the moment when the door to my closure will be kicked wide open. This time, will I stay?
NT Anderson is a published author of steamy romance and the co-founder of the publishing imprint Tepris Press. A lifelong lover of the written word, she spent years working in hospitality, restaurant management, and even pole dancing before becoming a full-time writer in 2009. Nikki's first trilogy, The Acts Series, was released in 2021/2022. More books will be forthcoming in 2023.
In addition to writing, Nikki is also a radio presenter with a catalog of shows for the UK-based audio production company One Flower Two Turtles.
She currently lives in the Endless Mountain region of Pennsylvania. When she isn't writing, she can be found sipping rum by candlelight and spending time with her pets — two spoiled dogs and an unruly cat.
Acts of Confession, the second book in The Acts Series by NT Anderson, was an exceptional read. In the first book, Natalie shares a passionate reunion with Jack, the man she had an online relationship with many years earlier. But she had to walk away and return to her life. Now, when Jack reaches out to her, she’s faced with the truth that the closure she sought before wasn’t really closure at all. In this second book, we get to go much deeper into the lives of Nat and J, seeing their strengths and vulnerabilities exposed as they come together again in a connection that’s both explosive and deeply tender. The mix of raw passion and emotional honesty is powerful and perfectly balanced. Both characters are so well written that they feel entirely real – flawed, human, and completely captivating.
What stands out most to me, though, is the writing itself. NT Anderson’s prose is elegant, expressive, and emotionally intelligent, capturing the intensity of their relationship without ever tipping into excess. The love scenes are steamy and full of passion, but written with such care and beauty that they carry real emotional weight. As I said in my review of Acts of Closure, this series is so much more than erotica. It’s about two people destined for each other, yet caught in the pull between love, timing, and circumstance. Acts of Confession is a rollercoaster of passion, desire, laughter, and heartbreak – written with skill and depth that make it impossible to put down. I can’t wait to see what happens next for these two!
Warning: This review contains some mild spoilers/references to the first book and references to this book!! I don't give anything away about this book, but I do discuss the end of the last book. If you haven't read it, what are you waiting for? Go read it and then come back!

I was looking forward to the second installment in NT Anderson's Acts series, Confession. It's been a year since her debut book, Acts of Closure, came out and it was far too long to wonder what was going on with J and Natalie once she made the hardest decision of her life and walked out his door as planned.
Confession did not disappoint. In this second installment, we see Natalie get affected once again by one of J's emails, only this time it was J emailing her and needing help. Natalie drops everything to help him, and we find her on his doorstep once again.
In this book, we are given more of a glimpse of Natalie's life at home, and of the loneliness that plagues her. Suddenly her need for Closure makes sense and we can reflect back to the first book with new, more understanding eyes.
You get so caught up in this unusual love story that you root for this couple, despite not having all the details about what is truly feeding Natalie's need to connect with J and head to New York once again.
NT Anderson does a fantastic job on the intimate scenes...they are on fire! Man, I sure would love to be Natalie.
But it's not just sexy time where you can feel what's going on...it's the way Anderson writes. There are two profound scenes in this series that I felt to my core as a woman who has loved deeply in my life. SPOILER/SCENE DESCRIPTION...
The first was the sucker punch to the gut when Natalie left J in book 1. Anyone who has ever said goodbye to someone they loved, whether you knew it was the final time or not, has felt pain like that and Anderson writes about it so beautifully and real. Reading this scene I was suddenly back in the 10th grade, saying goodbye to my first real boyfriend as I was getting on a plane to move away....and I was Natalie stepping off that porch and going to my car. I felt it. Anderson made me remember what I felt on a day 36 years ago simply because they did such justice writing that scene.
The second scene was in Confession when Natalie had a good cry...that cathartic kind of cry that releases endorphins and makes you feel empty and stunned. You know...the "ugly cry". It certainly wasn't pretty, and yet it was raw and it was real, and Anderson wrote it in such a way that I could remember every time I had a cry like that in my life. Such a simple scene, yet brilliantly written.
I encourage anyone who loves romance, loves hot intimacy, and who wants to invest time with two great characters and a well-written story to check out this series! ~Ms. M
NT Anderson has delivered a riveting sequel that has left me calling out into the ether much like I do at the cinema when I yell at the screen because my emotions have spilled over.
Her first novel, “Acts of Closure” takes readers into the world of Nat and J and proved to be a riveting and intimate experience. In “Acts of Confession”, her sequel, the stakes are even higher for the lovers.
(Discussing plot is not a review and in lieu of giving anything away, I will avoid details of the storyline.)
At times, sequels fall short, especially in book two of a three-part series. That second book usually endures “act two” doldrums, dragging readers into the big finale. But not this time. Anderson has crafted another solid and compelling tale that is as strong – if not stronger – than her first novel.
Anderson is an excellent writer. This means her dialogue is distinct for each character and rings true – and is not always “on the nose”, which would be awful to do. The narrative is well paced with smooth transitions and she creates more suspense in her romance than most crime thriller and horror authors could ever dream of accomplishing – hence my “calling out”. Her descriptions are well-crafted to the point where I can envision the setting as if watching the film version in my head.
But it’s the passion and genuine drama Anderson creates that will keep readers glued to the story of Nat and J. I cannot recall the last time I stayed awake into the wee hours, in this case 4:00 AM, to finish a novel because I had to know the outcome, or in this case, the cliffhanger before the final work in her triumvirate, “Acts of Commitment”.
If you seek a romance that breaks free from the traditional and over-used trappings of the genre while remaining a true romance, this series is the perfect solution. Note that this is coming from a reader who cringes at the word “romance” and its tropes. Thanks to Anderson’s command of craft, she makes romance hard to ignore and brings new life and energy to the genre.
I am not sure what will happen in the final act of the series, but I definitely know what I want to see happen. The power of Anderson’s storytelling may make me start biting my nails again!
The “Will they, Won’t they” concept in romantic fiction is one that is both classic and overused, but it’s also one that can work, if written well. After the start of the trilogy in Acts of Closure, it’s great to see that NT Anderson is one such writer who knows how to write the story wonderfully in the second book of the Acts series, Acts of Confession.
Set one year after the first book, we catch up with Natalie as she carries on with her normal life, until, unexpectedly, she is dragged back into the world of love, romance, and lust with Jack Parry once more.
The storyline continues in a clever and realistic way that keeps you reading from the start as you constantly wonder what will happen between the two lovers and how can their lives connect again. The steamier side of the book is, once again, well written and definitely one for mature readers, but the whole book feels very authentic in its portrayal of the characters making it easy to highly recommend. I can’t wait to see how it ends!
This is the second book in this amazing series and in this tale, we get a better understanding into Natalie’s home life. It has been some time since Natalie made the difficult and painful decision to leave Jack behind. Now it is Jack who reaches out with a cryptic email, which has Natalie agreeing without hesitation to help, as this may be the closure she so desperately needs. Fate has destined these two to be together, but can they take the chance on each other? This is a well written poignant love story which is raw, gritty, emotionally charged, and with intrigue, passion, romance, humor, and love, which leads to a steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
“Acts of Confession,” The Acts Series Book 2, is an emotional and sexy read! This story takes place one year after the events in “Acts of Closure.” “Nat” has settled back into her real life, focusing on her work, friends, and son while trying not to think about her unhappy marriage. Her husband, Rob, is away traveling most of the time. When he is home, she does not feel the love from him anymore. Then she gets a message from J saying simply that he needs her. She books a flight to go see him. What follows is a roller coaster of a reunion that kept me glued to the pages! I cannot wait to read book 3!
NT Anderson has done it again with this book. She brough my hope up high for an HEA and then took it down gently with a tearful ending. I wanted to scream at Natalie, "Stop! Don't go." But I do know exactly how she felt, the never ending of wanting to make everyone happy except yourself, the obligations to the family, the guilts of not being there for your child, etc... Now I can't wait to see what she will do next in the next book, Acts of Commitment. I highly recommend you to read Acts of Closure first before reading this one. Highly recommended!
This story had me glued to my reader. I owned the first book in the series and when I read the blurb for this, I knew I just had to bump the 1st up my list and so glad I did!
These two books were my first by this author and I am definitely coming back for more!
A year has passed since Natalie had seen Jack, but a cryptic message had her returning to New York. Worried about what she would find, Natalie is not prepared for what the 48 hours she's there reveals. This series is erotic, romantic and heart wrenching, can't wait for the conclusion.
ACTS OF CONFESSION by NT Anderson is the second in a contemporary romance-erotica series, an exceptional sequel and continuation to a first-rate story.
* SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW FOR BOOK 1: ACTS OF CLOSURE *
After leaving at the end of the last book and saying goodbye, Natalie and Jack have had no contact with each other. They tested their chemistry, verified it overflowed, but returned to their separate, conflicting lives. Nat runs her own company and is married with a family, while Jack is a busy writer with a girlfriend. However, when Jack emails Natalie a cry for help, she boards a plane and arrives at his doorstep once more.
Jack admits to Natalie that he is experiencing writer’s block, the worst he’s ever suffered. He can’t write, and he’s stuck in limbo. Natalie re-enters the world she left behind to help Jack climb out of this dark place. They know each other best, the only ones who see each other’s true selves from all those years of online friendship.
During their unexpected reunion, dangerous revelations and confessions rise to the surface, despite their disparate lives. Lust and love bubble over as Jack and Natalie must make decisions about what the future might hold. They both have a relatable, aching loneliness; they are the only ones who fully understand and get each other, but life choices and responsibilities have kept them apart. Change demands sacrifice, and they do not know if they can withstand the fallout.
As with the first book, Anderson expertly delivers more hot, heartwarming, and heartbreaking scenes with her masterful balance of emotional and physical attraction. She conveys intimacy’s vulnerability with an intuitive and insightful skill. 5 stars. Brilliantly done.
N.T. Anderson has written a fantastic sequel to Acts of Closure. She gave us two very real characters in book one, full of intrigue and romance, some very steamy scenes, and emotional moments that made the reader feel a strong connection to them both.
With Acts of Confession, she amped it up a notch. We get to know these characters even more. Not only where they're from, but where they're going (maybe together, maybe not!), and we get to experience Nat and Jack's special bond under vastly different circumstances. Get ready for more steamy scenes, romance, revelations, some sadness, yeah, and much more.
The second book didn't disappoint. Another steamy romance. This one was full of much more conversation and drama, which I loved. Getting backstory and information about the characters (especially from Nat's side of things) made me care about them even more. I flew through this book only to discover the third installment won't be out until next month. Cannot wait to see where Nat and J end up. Excellent read!
