Sweet Tooth

I’m an ambitious lawyer. She’s a cake pop delivery girl.

I cannot believe they’ve made me her babysitter.

After a decade of long hours and non-stop grind, I’ve been tapped to make partner. I’m so close, I can taste it.

The only catch? First, I need to babysit our biggest client’s niece while she launches her cake business in our building.

She thinks overworked lawyers are the perfect crowd for sprinkles and sugar.

I think it’s a waste of damn time.

But I’ve worked too hard for this promotion, and I will not let this girl derail me now. Not with her antics, or her cakes, or her teasing little smiles.

Yes, she’s sweet and pretty. Yes, she makes my cold, dead heart race in my chest.

But she’s a distraction. That’s all.

Sweet Tooth is a steamy instalove novella, where opposites attract and office romance comes with sprinkles on top.

The H didn’t fall on his knees the first time he saw/heard of her, he didn’t smell the h and get addicted, nor did he throw her on his shoulder to take her somewhere on broad light where he could do all kinds of filthy things.

He did not grunt, or shout her name enough times and definitely didn’t threat to end his life if she didn’t give him children in that instant.

Enough said.

Awwww this was so adorable and fun and cute and did I mention adorable?

Julian was this cute cinnamon roll for her which I thought was so sweet. Lola didn’t make me want to scratch my eyes out bc she was actually a decent fmc. That was nice.

There were OBVIOUSLY some cringe parts because it’s a novella but overall it was enjoyable.

I liked it :)

Thank you @Nadia for the rec!!

Special shout out to Viv the Book Vixen, I found this book from one of her glowing reviews. Thanks, Viv!

I dragged my feet on trying this book, because I don’t know why but I thought this would be a short episode of Jessa Kane-like book porn, but it wasn’t. It was steamy, but actually had a story. A very sweet story.

The heroine was a kind-hearted girl raised by her billionaire uncle and his family. She’s trying to strike it out on her own to be independent now that she’s healthy (I didn’t catch what she suffered from, but she spent oodles of time in and out of hospitals as a child/teen). Her business idea is to create a cake pop bakery delivery service (to the NYC business high rises).

The hero is a very well written grumpy irritated jerk in the beginning. The book is only 100 pages, so he finds his happy heart kind of quickly, but for some reason the insta-love feel to this story did not bother me. Everything transitioned smoothly, characters were likable, the writers voice sounded like how I think/talk myself so it was all relatable in that sense and I wish there could have been another 100 pages!

The MMC tho. Ew 😫🥴

I didn’t like the MMC for 80% of this story, he was such an asshole and arrogant and was cruel for no damn reason. Then, there wasn’t much personality to the FMC. Just because she has pink hair and wears a flamingo shirt doesn’t mean she’s a dynamic or interesting character, we need more than that.

The storyline got better as it went along, I really disliked the “babysitting” a grown adult idea, but luckily that naturally went away after some time. While the spice did hit outta nowhere, I feel like that’s what saved this book.

This was so cute!!!

The hero is assigned to be a kind of babysitter for a client's niece at his law firm. She is trying to start up a cake pop business that is specifically geared towards businessmen and wants to do a two-week trial run. The two do not get off on the best foot at first. And the hero did not expect to fall head over heels for the woman he was supposed to be protecting.

This was such a joy to read! I loved the baking element and how these two were full-on swooning for each other :)

A story about a lawyer and a cake-pop delivery girl 🗿🧍‍♀️- they keep getting wilder.

This one was surprisingly really tame- but super sweet. I really enjoyed it.

Sweet Tooth was one of those "break in case of emergency" type of books for me. I have some Cassie books left for me to read and I want to keep it that way because I don't want to run out. I know I will always enjoy them because they're short, fun and sooooo very my type of book.

But I do have a book slump, so I downloaded this one. It was sweet, funny, and HAD THE GRUMPIES BUT SOFTEST LOVE INTEREST. It's about a rich girl who wants to create her cake pop business and the lawyer who is tasked to keep an eye on her while she is working at his workplace. He instantly doesn't want to do it, and says some mean things to her, but omg he regrets it immediately and hates that he did that sobs. She's a ball of sunshine and wears bright colors, her hair is pink, her smile is contagious. And he is so very much into her from the get-go.

I liked Cassie's book of subtle-first-attraction. The H was a high powered lawyer on the rise; cool, calculated, and hardworking. Our h was the niece of some powerful rich uncles who were sick on her younger days. She tried to spread her wing by being independent and wishing to open a sweets store. And what a better costumers of her if not tired and hardworking lawyers right?! They must be tired of the arguments all day. Her uncles tried to help her by asking one of the retained lawyers they have to help her for market research purposes. Guess who got the lucky draw?! Yep, our very own H. It was a rocky start, but as time went on, the romance bloomed.
description

See, romance after getting to know each other was the bittersweet kind and gave you a good tingling after taste. This one was quite spot-on on the "don't judge the book by its cover" kinda thing. I liked the dynamic between the MCs. The H was cold and arrogant; and yet he melt as time went by. The h was sweet and unassuming. *sigh* my kinda h that needed protection with all her naivety. And the H was the right kinda guy to do it.

Virgin h
Dual PoV, 1st person
Bit drama with h's uncles in the end
No angst
No cheating
Quite steamy
Safe read, HEA, epilogue
Overall score: 4.5 sweet romance stars

love the bubbly pink haired girl and grouchy lawyer guy dynamic and the lightheartedness of it all. it made me chuckle and it’s overall very sweet, as promised. i wish some things were a bit more fleshed out, like her past illness that’s only vaguely mentioned and the resolution of the conflict with her uncle and his bosses. the sex scenes, specifically his dirty talk, didn’t do much for me. and as always, marriage and pregnancy epilogues are a no from me.

content/trigger warnings; past illness, explicit sexual content,

The couple: Julian and Lola

Romance genre: opposites attract
Length: 98 pages

Plot: Julian is so close to making partner at his law firm, but the partners have one more task for him: babysit Lola, the niece of a prominent client. Lola is not a child, but her uncle treats her like she is, especially after being sick and in the hospital for so long. She is trying to start a business - selling cake pops to the offices in that area - and Julian's firm is giving her the space to try that out. Julian pegs her as a spoiled rich girl right away, knowing nothing of her background, but he comes to crave her sweetness.

Commentary: This was a refreshing change! No insta-love here, even if there was some attraction. Julian really has the wrong end of it after making a snap judgment about Lola. And poor Lola - she really was sweet and smart and wanted to become her own person, and the people who should have been helping her and supporting her were holding her back (and then putting her down because of that!). I liked that Julian came to love Lola after getting to know her and I liked that he changed his behavior after seeing himself through other people's eyes (like Lola and his assistant).

SOOOO. FREAKIN. AWWWWESOMME!!!!

This book was the sweetest!!! I smiled so much reading this my face is sore!

The juxtaposition of a grouchy, grumpy, ruthless, assholish hero who melts for one special, sweet, sunshiny woman—aghhhh my heart melted, my kindle melted, it was ALL THE SWOON!

Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all. Heroine is a virgin and gives the hero the gift of all her firsts. No ow/om. No cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.

I've been enjoying Cassie Mint' books so much lately. She writes great chemistry, romance and spice.

But with this story, Lola's background story was ridiculous and hardly seems credible. And the cake pops? I thought she wanted to be a chef but no, she just wanted to act like a business woman in a ridiculous cake pop business where she doesn't even makes them 🙈 WTF?
And her supposedly disease? What happened to that plot? How do you introduce a character with something like that but never addressed the topic?

And the MMC was an arrogant asshole.

I've been avoiding books with virgin heroines and I don't want to support authors who write that, but this author sometimes writes virgin heroes and I usually like her characters and stories, so I decided to read it. Also, this was free. I can say that I didn't like the characters nor the story. I can't believe that Cassie Mint wrote this, because I've read a lot of her books, and this doesn't seem like her. I disliked both main characters, especially the hero. I cringed a few times, and the scene in his office when she tried to give him a bj made me uncomfortable. I really wish I hadn't read this.

Glitter and cake pops set his heart on fire

This is an OTT, quirky, naughty, sweet and fun story about an uptight lawyer and a young woman who wants to sell cake pops. Lola Briggs is from the very rich and powerful Briggs family. She is twenty-two years old and has moved out of the family compound into one of the family apartments in NYC. She has a dream of starting a cake pop business where she sells directly to business people at their work. The thing is that at twenty-two years old she never went to college and not sure how to go about setting up the business. So her uncle asks the law firm the family uses to watch over her and help guide her. Julian Rodriguez is a lawyer who takes no prisoners and is dedicated only to his career, with the goal of making partner. He is just about there and should be offered the opportunity shortly. So when the two founding partners come to him to ask a favor for one of their main clients he sees his chance. He will "babysit" the young woman but he wants an offer in writing for partnership. What he does not expect is to have glitter flying by a pink haired innocent young woman that is his complete opposite, but who sets his taste buds on fire for her sweetness.

This is a humorous, sweet, and dirty smexy story that was a delightful read. I loved the characters in this OTT age-gap romance, and really enjoyed Oliver, Julian's smart and brash assistant. I really enjoyed this book.

This is a totally sweet heartwarming romance with a twist Julian is a grumpy lawyer whose dedication to work earns him a new moniker babysitter for their biggest clients niece. He's within reach of making partner so he can't afford to screw this up which is why he decides to bring his assistant with him to make sure it goes smoothly. Lola is wonderful she decides that Julian's building is the perfect place to launch her cake pop business. They're both attracted to each other and spending time around Lola does things to Julian's heart he wants her for himself. They had a great dynamic between them with the added bonus of Oliver. You really need to read this sweet story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

I liked that being forced together showed them what they wanted from life and it made them do something about it. The attraction between Julian and Lola was lovely to see develop and I enjoyed seeing Julian grow as a person because of Lola being in his life. I liked the addition of Oliver as be brought some humour, straight talking and good support to the story. Personally I would have liked to have found out more of her past and what happened next family wise. I thought the story flowed well, had good characters, good chemistry and connection, and it made me smile and held my interest.

I love Cassie Mint's novellas; I devour them as soon as they hit my kindle!

This was such a sweet story! I loved Lola and Julian.

Julian is a top attorney and not the warmest person in the office. He focuses on his work and wants to make partners at the firm.

Julian is asked to keep an eye on Lola while she tries out her cake pop business. Naturally, he is annoyed by this idea because he is a lawyer, not a babysitter.

Lola hasn't had the best life; she was sick for a while, and now she is better and ready to live her life and let people enjoy her sweet treats!

Lola and Julian's attraction grows stronger the more they interact.

They definitely got the sweetest HEA!

If you are looking for something sweet, quick, and steamy, I highly recommend this story!

First the names fit them so well. We have an uptight lawyer who is watching, babysit, or helping Lola and her cake pop business start up. Then we have Lola woh has pink hair and the she seems so alive. We learn things about Lola that change my perspective. This is an enemies to lovers and the journey there is amazing. I loved this story. Characters were great and I even changed my mind about Julian.

Yet another delightful read by Cassie Mint!
Julian is a grumpy lawyer who is forced to babysitter his biggest client's niece, Lola. Lola is the sweetest girl and they have a great dynamic. As with every other book by Cassie MInt, I would definitely recommend reading it. It's the perfect book for when you have only an hour to kill and don't want to be left hanging in a story!

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Lola and Julian are two completely different people that you would not think were meant to be together. The more they interact and learn about each other, their attraction grows. It is a short romance with good characters. Plenty of humor, forced proximity, denial, passion and finally love.

A fun read of the grumpy lawyer babysitting an important client’s niece on starting a new business. The attraction builds between these two, but can she look past his grumpiness and can he soften up and not frighten her. Loved Julian’s protective nature and how each stood up for the other. The ending was sweet, it was cute running joke of all those carpets.

Lola and Julian are two completely different people that you would not think were meant to be together.

I was smiling like a psychopath while reading this

Julian is a grumpy lawyer and not the warmest person in the office. But then he's tasked to babysit Lola as she makes cake pops haha!

They were opposite and a PERFECT match for each other, although I wish I got to know why Lola was at the hospital and all, but still t was perfect!

Lola and Julian

Another great read from Cassie Mint.
Julian is not happy when he is tasked with babysitting a rich girl. He was a fierce lawyer, and looking after a spoiled brat was not in his job description. So, at first, he was sarcastic and rude with Lola, and for some reason, that didn't make him feel good. Soon, all he wanted was to be with her and her cake pops. Highly recommended
