My beautiful, but very broken Jace. Gah, I knew his book would bring the emotions and that it did. Despite my heart breaking, I could NOT stop reading!

Jace's demons run deep and he tries all tactics to keep them at bay. He is spiraling, drowning in a sea of guilt all while his family watch not knowing how to bring him back from the ledge. They try, but his living nightmare is just too real. He truly is a broken playboy... finding his salvation in all the wrong things. The self destruction is heart wrenching and I just wanted to hold him.. to try to take some of the pain, but unfortunately he wasn't ready.

Riley... wow this girl was something else. She was so strong, so assertive and just might be the light needed to bring Jace out of his darkness. Is she strong enough to be what he needs?

Could there be something or someone else that could be his tether to living? If his family isn't enough to drown out the darkness... is there anything? His spiraling is never ending and there may be no stopping it.

This story will break you. This story will take your emotions, place them in a blender and turn it on despite your protests. You'll want to stop, you'll want to give in... but you'll need to be strong and press on. You need to see Jace's story until the bitter end. Your heart may not be yours, but that's ok.

I'm not crying, you're crying 😭😭😭😭 Where do I start with Jace. His book hit me with a hurricane of emotions. I've cried several times during this book and still crying just thinking about it while writing this review.

Gabby has done an amazing job on Reckless Rebel. The emotion bleeds off the pages and I felt everything that Jace and Riley were feeling. This book deals with some of the aftermath from Rebellion of a Kingdom. Jace is broken and spiraling, but will Riley be able to save him before just too late?

Jace and Riley are magnetic and even though she says she hates him, deep down, we all know she doesn't. I love their banter and the tension they have. When they do finally give in, it's 🥵🥵🥵

I love the end of this one, even through all the tears, I got what I needed. I love Gabby's books and I'm definitely looking forward to Lincoln's book, you can feel the tension between all of them, even when they're not front and center.

ARC Review, Reckless Rebel by G.N Wright

Do you have a moment to speak about our resident heart breaker, G.N. Wright?

Cos GABBY WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU PUT IN THIS?! ARE THE PAGES MADE FROM CRACK OR SOMETHING?!

Now that the yelling is done with I can get into it.

You took our hearts, you stomped on them, laughed, then stomped again. You woke up and chose violence with this book, and it was obvious from the get go.

This shit HURT... but I liked it 😈

Do it again!

Jace's story is emotional damage in the best way possible. If you've read Gabby's Black Hallows Trilogy then you know some of the trauma Jace is struggling to bounce back from. And if you haven't read it, while it's not necessary, I do highly recommend for an in-depth exploration of the absolute mayhem stabby, I mean Gabby, put Jace and the rest of his family through.

While trying to overcome the loss of a friend and struggling to accept all that has happened Jace spirals into an endless cycle of drinking, taking drugs and fucking the pain away. That is until Red enters the picture, and ohhh boi does she shake shit up for him.

While reconnecting with his younger biological sister, Jace does his absolute best to fight the pull he feels for her adoptive, older sister.. but it's no use.

Red is perfect, I wanna be Red when I grow up (especially if it means I can claim Jace for myself 👀). She's beautiful, sassy, loving and the complete opposite of everything Jace feels he deserves.

This story will take you through hell and back, especially during Jace's POV's. It's heart breaking, it's heavy, it's sexy and it's addictive.

I loved every single second of this book, even if it did make me cry 🙃🤣

I cannot wait for my next hit of G.N. Wright!

Sweet Seven Pound Baby Jesus, I thought you were gonna break my heart, I was nearly hyperventilating. Thank goodness GN finally took pity on me and Playboy. I love our Black Hallows crew, I recommend the series every chance I get. Reckless didn’t disappoint and whetted my appetite for Asher and Lincoln to tell their stories.

The writing in this book was good and the sex was incredibly hot, but the couple had no chemistry. Also, what was the purpose of her being a virgin only to lose it to OM half way through the book and then immediately break up with him? If she's had sex with him beforehand, wouldn't have minded it, but it felt like the author in anti-virgin h and was trying to prove a point by shoving it in our faces "See? she lost ger virginity to someone else, it NBD 💁🏼‍♀️" 🙄 As someone who happily enjoys the virgin h/experienced H trope, it irks me. Anyways, we never got to see any resolution with the ex-boyfriend. He just got away with basically being the last straw that caused Jace to unalive himself. On that subject, fuck all his "friends" and "family". They saw MADE him go somewhere he was not ready to go and interact with people he was not ready to interact with, then he was baited with the cruelest remarks ever and then when he acted exactly how you'd expect him to act in this situation, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them turned their backs on him. OF COURSE he was going to try to unalive himself! They all acted like it was some huge tragedy, but literally an hour before one of them even threatened to kill him just because he beat up an asshole who deserved it. The worst part of this book was really the h. She was never really redeemed in my eyes, she was constantly a stuck-up bitch who thought she was so much better than him and gave up on him at every turn. She didn't deserve him, not the other way around. She literally came to his bed immediately after he tried to commit suicide, in large part because of her and her bullshit and she has the balls to say "I can't love you" sure, fine! Fuck off bitch, why are you here making it worse? Then she has the audacity to be upset he didn't reach out to her? As I'm writing this review, why am I giving it 3 stars instead of 2? I guess because I think part of my judgment is just personal preference.

Oh, Jace. Our beautiful broken playboy. I didn’t know how hard his story was going to hurt but the number of tissues I went through was overwhelming. As someone who struggles with their mental health and has had past experiences with self-harm, this book had some difficult moments. Gabby captured how it is to feel like life may not be worth it anymore. While this can be triggering the outcome of this story is simply beautiful. It gives you hope that even when you feel alone, there is always someone out there who would be devastated without you.

If you have read the previous Black Hallows trilogy then you have already met our rebel, Jace. Jace hasn’t had a great life until he found his chosen family in Black Hallows. After a tragic ending in Rebellion of a Kingdom Jace has cut everyone out and drowned himself in booze and any drugs he can get his hand on. He takes his playboy status to a whole new level and hooks up just to feel a little something. After discovering he has a little sister, Sofia, he also meets Riley, her adoptive older sister. Riley is the complete opposite of Elle and the rebels. She is an A+ student, the gf of the school quarterback, and avoids trouble like the plague. As soon as Riley and Jace meet there is some attraction but they both of them fight it. Riley has a perfect life and doesn’t need the reckless boy messing it up. Jace doesn’t believe he can be anything but a hookup and doesn’t think he deserves happiness. There was a lot of back and forth with them. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Riley at first but she showed Jace some sass and attitude and didn’t let him get away with his negative behavior which of course made me love her. She showed him he could live without drugs or alcohol and he showed her it was okay to let loose and be carefree. They really help each other thrive and I loved watching their relationship grow.

In between their relationship developing we still see Jace struggling to find his worth. He doesn’t think he is good enough for Riley and that his friends and family would be better without him. Seeing him doubt himself was heartbreaking. It shows how hard depression can hit and just how much it takes over you. I just wanted to give him a hug and tell him everything would be okay. I loved seeing Elle, Lincoln, and Marcus be there for him and try to help even if he didn’t think he deserved it. It really shows how much of a family they truly are. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Black Hallows book without the 'Crabsticks'. Iykyk. I swear that in itself needs its own trigger warning. I’m so excited for Lincoln’s book next. He’s our little mystery and I can’t wait to see what's going on in his head and find out if I’m correct about his love interest.

This author blows me away with her versatility. Her books are usually quite dark and this is not a 'light' read but not dark either. It is jam packed with emotions and I just wanted to hug the hell out of my boy Jace. This covers trauma and addiction so well. Riley is so perfect for him and I look forward to seeing bits of them in the next Black Hallows book. Fantastic read.

G.N. Wright never disappoints with her books. I’ve read and loved all of them and this one was no exception. This right here had been one I had been highly anticipating and was counting down the days until I got this in my kindle.

We finally get to see our broken playboys story and it was amazing. Jace has that sexy alpha male thing going for him that’s just 🔥🔥 hot.

Riley is everything I love in a FMC and more. She doesn’t bow down or submit right from the beginning and I love that.

Every time I read one of these authors books, I think, “there’s no way she can top this” and obviously I’m always wrong because each book is better than the last.

This has to be my favorite mf romance. The chemistry cetween the characters is off the charts. They have such a great back & forth. I really enjoyed reading about their relationship. But this book is not only about that, not only is it full of humor & cute moments & in the beginning Jace & everyone trying to get Red to ditch the loser bf she's currently with. As there's a couple of reasons at first keeping them apart yet forced together in a playful way. Its balance with these situations and playful part of the stories with the darker parts of the story. It is so well-written & layered. Well-balanced with humor and darkness.

A great example is how they first meet each other. It's a very funny situation that does influence the way she abused him at first. But the reason why he's in that situation there's more to it then she thinks. It's a funny and they're a great callbacks to how they met. But the reason why shes meeting him in that situation. Why hes doing thee thing ahe the underlying issues of the character of Jace who is struggling through grief & guilt. Who's been through some traumatic stuff who deals with it with partying and substances. It's multiple povs we get both of their povs so we get a great look into what he's going through.

Jace is great character who no matter how dark things is one that not the deflec & used humor. But that's just part of who he regardless. It's part of his charm. He is the guy who's innuendo jokes and can joke with confidence and pulls it off in that Charming way. At the same time he's very honest about how he feels about himself currently. Such a bike on Ami and so well written.

Jace is a charming guy & one who struggles & I just love him. It's so easy to fall in love with Jace this beautiful complex character.

And author GN Wright does an amazing job of writing him. I love the story that she's told.

Love the reason why Jace becomes part if Riley's life. Their Journey is more than just their chemistry & subsequent love story. Jace finds another reason besides this attraction and budding romance, something that motivates him to keep trying. I love this development and is part of the story that propelled him into this other family. And leads him to a forced proximity with Riley. Riley's parents are just amazing they're not what you expect they're so funny. There's a great dynamic between the parents & Jace & everyone's Mutual hatred of Riley's want to be Eddie Haskell like boyfriend that the parents actually see through.

And of course we get to see Jaces relationship with his found family, with Queenie & his brothers. And his life after the events of the black Hallows Trilogy. This is technically an interconnected standalone & while I highly recommend reading the series because it's awesome.

You don't need to have read it to read this story in my opinion. I think the story stands on its own so well. It is such an enjoyable journey to read. It's got a great balance of light & dark, humor & real emotional topics. Getting deep with both characters. I feel like there's a light fun romance & relationship dynamic between these two characters within a darker exploration of mental health struggles.

I enjoyed this book so much I really love these characters & story. I highly recommend Reckless Rebel whether or not you've read the black Hollows Trilogy.

🤩🤩🤩

I loved this book! Is it because Jace (MMC) is such a tortured soul? Probably, but I love it all the same.

Jace really struggles with his mental health throughout this book, please heed the trigger warning. We watch him find it hard to ‘go back to normal’ after the war in books 1-3 and not only is he offered a life raft in the form of Riley (FMC), he also gets one in the form a younger sister that he didn’t know about. I appreciated that Gabby portrayed these things in such a way that they didn’t save Jace from himself or his vices, he still had to fight and he still had to WANT to fight. It was heartbreaking to read but made for a very good book!

Riley is unexpected for Jace but I thought they fit together so well. They were cute, and hot, and I LOVED her parents and how supportive they were of her and their situation.

Would recommend!

Gah! Gaaabbbbyyyyy! Why? Why did you have to shatter my heart into a million pieces with this masterpiece??? 😭😭😭
Jace has always been my broken boy but damn it! This book shows his struggles with his demons and it’s absolutely heartbreaking. The pieces of my heart were slowly put back together again but it will still take me forever to recover from this book.

Jace is a Southside Rebel who has seen a LOT happen over the years that gives him demons he doesn’t know how to handle. He finds out he has a little sister and her adoptive parents are more than willingly to allow him to meet her and get to know her.
With his sister Sofia comes her adopted older sister, Riley. Riley is very protective about Fia and doesn’t think that Jace would have a positive influence in Fia’s life. But along with the fighting with Jace come the sparks of attraction.
Riley can’t stop thinking about Jace and Jace is determined to be accepted and to make Riley his.
Riley finds that Jace isn’t what his reputation makes him out to be. Can he fight his demons for not only her and Sofia but also himself?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to arc read this beautiful book.

Oh crabsticks🤬 I can't explain how much I love this book!
Gabby knows how to shatter all emotions yet have you enjoying it and wanting more of her chaos.  Yes she had me crying..
OhsweetlordJace🥵 sexy broken playboy Jace...what will we do with him
Drowning his past in booze, drugs, and random pu$$y, still doesn't numb the pain. ⚠️ triggers**drugs, addiction, alcohol.ments health struggle⚠️
He finds out he has a sister who was adopted and she has a older sister.
Riley beautiful firey red head wasn't thrilled on a Rebel in her little sister's life.
Her Dbag of a boyfriend Rick (Dickly) didn't either..but he's worthless anyways his opinion doesn't matter. We don't like him😄
Watching Jace fight through his demoms throughout the whole book is heartbreaking but watching him grow through it makes his story beautiful at the same time. Rileys stubbornness is a great match for him. I was team "PrettyBoyRed" since the beginning.
Sexual tension was 🔥 Gabby brings the spice.
Their story is nothing but adventurous.
A strong drink and tissues are a good combo for this read.

We’re back in Black Hallows…yay! This series continues to amaze me. Elle King is still one of the fiercest female characters ever, we get more of her and her family in this story.

But…this is Jace’s book, so we’ll focus on Pretty Boy (he’s amazing in books 1-3 too). Jace has been to hell in back in the course of this saga and he’s on a downward spiral. I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to ruin this amazing story for anyone. He’s just looking to drown out his pain.

Enter Riley…she’s fierce (not Elle King fierce, but still doesn’t put up with any crap). She isn’t about to fall for his Playboy ways, but she does get to know the real him and it’s glorious. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Riley’s boyfriend at the start, Rick (aka Dicky), he’s truly an easy character to hate!

Jace and Riley’s story is told in dual POV, has great character development and growth, plenty of steam and a hard-won HEA.

There are a dozen or so typos, but nothing that takes away from the story.

Overall, an amazing ride and I can’t wait to see more of them and this amazing chosen family in the next installment. Bring on Book 5!

The last books in the series were so dark and violent, it was a nice change with this book. The big battle in this one was Jace and if he deemed himself good enough to live. It's a very valid battle and one he fought hard for. He needed something to keep him going, he found that in his sister and Riley, but it wasn't enough. He needed to be good enough in his mind for himself and there lies the problem, he didn't think he was. It was awful watching Jace fight this battle, from self medicating with booze, drugs and sex, to seeing a bit of light to giving up, to asking for help. The ending was nice, Jace happy and healed, facing life with those he loves and that love him, something he very much deserves.

So I was not a happy camper when G.N announced it was Jace's book next I'm all about Lincoln... I owe her an apology because I have been in a reading slump and nothing has grabbed me but I devoured Jace's book and enjoyed every single second of it.

I have to say a great job was done here balancing the darkness and absolute heartbreak consuming Jace with the flirting banter and humour throughout the book. My heart broke for him on several occasions and by the end of the book I was so rooting for his happiness it was unreal. I don't want to give too much away but the author made all the best choices for the character despite the heartache in every situation. The understanding that ultimately only you can do what needs to be done.

I really enjoyed it, great storytelling lovely relationship building and onus put on the family you choose which I love.

Still want Lincoln's book desperately...just saying!

“Sometimes you’ve just got to get a little lost to find what you’re looking for.”

Did I read this whole book in one sitting? Yes
Did I adult today? F No
Was Jace worth it? HECK YES!!

G.N never ever ever disappoints me! She always pulls me in from the very beginning! I have been patiently waiting for Jace’s story and to get to know him more because I absolutely enjoyed him in Elle’s story!

Him battling his demons and losing but he never gave up. He’s a fighter for sure. Riley was perfect for him, he needed someone to go toe to toe with him and not put up with his shhh. You can feel the sexual tension and angst along with the chemistry between them bleed through the pages. They pull you in and keep you wanting more.
Jace is 🤤🤤.
GN always delivers that panty melting and deliciousness I love to read.

This was perfectly written and Jace got a fantastic book!

I have been wanting Jace's story since I first read about this beautiful broken boy, and this book is amazing. Riley is the perfect girl for him.
When you start reading this book you will fall in love with him even more, even as your heart breaks for him. It's an intense, emotional rollercoaster ride that you will not be able to stop reading once you start. I absolutely loved everything about it (even if I thought Elle should have stabbed a certain someone, in my mind she does).
Thank you for writing this book ❤️

I fell in loooooove (and lust) with Jace Conrad on my first read-thru of Elle’s story. Jace was still so broken at the end, it made the ending feel bittersweet. This story, Jace’s story, was absolute perfection. Watching him wrestle with his demons and lose multiple times was heartbreaking. Riley is the perfect foil for him. Her stubbornness and ability to see through Jace’s BS, as well as snark back at him, had me rooting for her from the beginning. The journey of their relationship is the perfect blend of angst, sexual tension, and sweet romance. The spice is explosively hot and the events leading to the end build up at a quick pace until the climax smacks you in the face and stomps on your heart. This was a fantastic standalone story, perfectly Jace, and I can’t wait to read what’s next in the Black Hallows universe!

This is definitely one hell of a book that will keep you turning those pages faster than you thought possible - thank god it was on my kindle or I'd have papercuts 😂.

I was so excited to get Jaces book, he's my favourite of the rebels and always made me laugh in other books. Jace really battles with a lot in this book, he still has his quick come backs but it was his pain and how well Gabby portrayed it all that really stole the book for me. I also loved Riley and how she constantly gave him shit at the beginning. I really enjoyed their chemistry. Oh and Sofia, is just adorable!

As with everything Gabby does, expect moments you never saw coming, heartbreak and happiness all rolled into one. You'll be left with whiplash from how fast you go through your emotions!

Ugh Jace. This book was just everything. Jace is probably my favorite rebel and it was so heartbreaking to watch him fight his demons. At the end of Elle’s trilogy my heart hurt so much for him and I desperately needed him to get his hea. Riley is his perfect match she’s stubborn doesn’t let him get away with anything. The chemistry and sexual tension is off the charts, and jace with the dirty talk🙌🏼

I also loved seeing Jaces relationship with Elle, Marcus and Linc and how much they care for each other. Elle takes care of her family no matter what and we get to see that in this book as well.

GN wrights writing is so captivating and never fails to suck me into a story. I can’t wait for the next Rebels book!

If you are reading this book then you have read the rest of the series. What can I say, as I read this book all the other books crowded in, the memories of what had happened, the sorrow and love and I have to say Jace Conrad is my screwed up, pretty boy, pain in the axx hero. This was for me an emotional heartbreaking in places read, powerful yet so sensitive. I loved the way Riley didn't take his crazy, and how he showed himself to Fifi, an amazing read G.N.Wright. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

What a book

This was definitely a roller coaster of emotions with Jace and everything he’s been through. My heart was twisted in pain for him and happy at times just hoping he got his happily ever after that he so deserved. I loved getting to know Riley and seeing him with Sofia was just heart warming. I just kept my fingers crossed that everything turned out ok in the end and well I’ll leave it for you all to find out what happens. But this is definitely a book you will want to read.

Jace's story is a complete standalone however for the full history and character development I highly recommend reading the first 3 books in the Black Hallows series which is based on Elle and Marcus.

I loved Jace's character the easy going entertainer and the love he has for his rebels, it was gut wrenching to read his pain and struggles which caused the mumma bear in me lots of ugly crying and frustration.

His story is perfect, his journey of self destruction was beautifully written and the moments shared with both Sofia and Riley were touching.

Lots of spice and all things extra nice thrown in for that added bonus along the way too!

ARC Review

Jace’s story is so emotional, but no matter what, his family is there for him. I admit there was ugly crying included. 😭😭 But worth it.

We learn more about Jace and new people in his life, but the Queen, Elle King, and crew are right there with him. They don’t all just fade into the background.

Even with the circumstances that got to this point, the challenges Jace faces are relatable. Jace is in a bad place mentally and doesn’t feel deserving of he new girl in his life. Riley is a finding herself and what she wants (and doesn’t want) from life too.

Highly recommend reading the whole series. Be aware of darker themes to this book that include drug addiction and death.

2.5 stars rounded up to 3, since it wasn't awful but also wasn't great.

Although it’s different from the first 3 "Black Hallows" books, focusing on Jace as the main character instead of Elle, it’s not a standalone. It wouldn’t make much sense if you haven’t read Elle's trilogy. But it IS a huge change in tone from that.

It’s smart that author GN Wright seemed to realize that the wild, plot-heavy, Sheridan Anne-esque over the top crime shenanigans of the "Black Hallows" world would feel out of place for this story of a broken guy getting himself back together. Jace’s story is much quieter. That’s why I rounded up to 3 stars, because it does make a smart writing choice.

However, this book hammers in my theory about GN Wright: She’s great at making you want to read her books because of the side characters, but the central relationships are the weakest part. (I say this with the caveat that I haven’t read her Hallowed Crows series yet, so maybe that one does it better).

In the initial "Black Hallows," trilogy, Elle and Marcus’ relationship was the worst part. It wasn’t interesting, and as the reader I wasn’t rooting for them to get together since he sucked for way too long. But the books were addictively readable anyway. The plot was propulsive, and the side characters (like Asher) were compelling enough that a bad central romance didn’t sink the story.

Just like Elle and Marcus in the first three books, Riley and Jace's relationship its the weakest part of this book. Riley is blander than untoasted white bread. Her main source of drama involving her boyfriend is tedious, since we know that she's obviously going to ditch him for Jace. So, every part of that plot line just felt like empty padding for this book’s word count.

For his part, Jace has too many self-pity inner monologues. They’re warranted since he's suffered a lot of tragedy — but when a character has the same self-loathing thoughts and self-destructive behavior that repeats the same way like 20 times, it gets tedious to read about.

I just used the word “tedious” twice! So, that’s why I can’t give this more than 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

But, it provides closure on Jace after the events of the "Black Hallows" trilogy. And Riley's parents are great, which is a nice change from other books in the Crimey New Adult subgenre – since this genre is strewn with terrible parents.

Ultimately, it’s a forgettable middle of the road book that wraps up Jace’s story and gets him to a better place after the events of the first three books. And, it does work on that front.

Reckless Rebel's is Jace's story in GN Wright's Black Hallows series. This is our first preview of another couple after Marcus and Elle's trilogy, and the story arc for Jace is so intense. We've already unpacked a lot of baggage with this group, and the deep dive into Jace was just truly gut-wrenching.

Jace has suffered greatly in his life with abandonment and tragic losses. He's always been one to use humor, drugs, and partying to keep himself at a distance from others. After the events in the starting trilogy, and yet another loss of a developing relationship, Jace starts this book having completely gone off the rocker. We have a time lapse of five months from where we left off, and Jace has increasingly shown his coping skills are taking control of his life.

Jace comes to find out that he has a younger biological sibling, and a lot of his character development comes from the growing relationships he begins to build with Sofia, his newfound seven year old sister, and her adoptive family. Jace especially is intrigued by Riley, Sofia's older sister, after a absolutely hilarious first meeting at a party. Well, hilarious for Jace, and mortifying for Riley. As the book progresses, Jace finds himself wanting to be better for the Decker family, but struggling with how to actually deal with the trauma he has faced and his own self-worth.

Riley is a strong-willed heroine, has a good head on her shoulders, and is very family oriented. Unfortunately, she's a bit naïve too. At the start of the book, she's in a relationship with a longtime friend, Rick, and is frankly blinded by the fact that their relationship isn't the sunshine and rainbows she thinks it should be. Overall, the idea of various kinds of relationships and the idea of what makes a family is a strong theme through the duration of this book.

I enjoyed Marcus and Elle's trilogy immensely, but the vulnerability and intensity of Jace's story really struck a cord with me. While my life has been fairly charmed, I can related to Jace's perception of himself to some level, and the idea of using various tricks to distance oneself from getting too close to others to avoid hurt is just so raw and real.

Character development: 5/5
Dark elements: 4/5
Steamy scenes: 5/5
Overall storyline: 4.5/5
Triggers: Yes, indeed - copious drug and alcohol abuse, addiction, mental health struggles, PTSD, and attempted suicide

Oh Jace Conrad! 😫😭

I put this one off for a bit because I just knew it would rip my damn heart out, and I wasn't wrong! It was exactly the same with Royce Brayshaw from BOYB, Cassius Drummond from the Four and Asher Bennett from the Raiders, I was drawn to all of these larger than life, beautiful boys with dark and heavy pasts and all of them put me through the ringer.

Jace was always my favourite Rebel, (Don't tell Lincoln) with his cocky smirk, smouldering dark eyes, sexier than six tattooed body and his playboy, jokester personality, and as always it's these guys who hide the most pain, who have been through hell and back and mask all their hurt under their boisterous and carefree ways. So I knew to expect a lot of emotion but Jace took me on such a bigger journey than I could have anticipated.

The guy who says he's the one who never gets the girl, who has been through so much heartbreak and tragedy that he won't kiss anyone or get close to anyone, keeping people at arms length and always high up to his eyeballs on a buffet of drugs and alcohol. When all he needs to it open up and not push away the people who want nothing but healing and the best for him, that being his rebel brothers, Elle, his new ADOREABLE little sister and the fiesty red head who walked in on him mid orgy 😂

Oh how I loved Riley. I mean, what a woman, Wow did she put him in his place and keep him on his toes. She puts up a good fight for a long time, and the slow burn of their relationship was agonising in the best way! You really can't rush perfection, because when these two collided, goodness me did they outshine all the stars in the night sky that Jace wishes upon every night. 🥰

I love the whole world of Black Hallows and Jace's journey into love is such an amazing addition. Expect dark themes and read those trigger warnings because there are some bits which hurt my heart to read 🥺 but this damaged boy gets a HEA that is so amazing and so deserved.

Now, I start the impatient wait for Lincoln and...whoever else may be there 👀 (Praying for the dark Prince!)

Jace and Riley 2.5 stars Spoiler alert ⚠️

Jace and Riley's story.
In the beginning, the storyline was dull and tedious to read. It got better towards the middle and the end of the book. I like Jace character from the first book. Jace is a fun guy. Jace is a boy with many demons and anguish; he hides his most profound pain. In this book, the reader discovers a different side of Jace, a vulnerable and caring side. Nothing dramatic happens in the storyline except for the demons that plague Jace. He drowns in his pain and dark thoughts by finding the next fix to expunge his darkness: drugs, sex, and alcohol.
All the characters are in the story: Elle, Marcus, Asher, Logan, and Lincoln. They are all worried about Jace. Jace life is wrapped with darkness and pain; he feels there is no escape but also, at the same time, desperate to find an escape from his demons. His friends are concerned about the direction Jace’s life is taking, afraid that it may kill him. Elle pushes him to do better in life and makes him realize that he is not alone; he still has a family and a newfound sister. Jace life changes when he encounters his sister and Riley. I was not particularly fond of Riley. I would have expected a better character for Jace. I was not too fond of the two as a couple; something was missing between the two. At times, I felt the script for Riley was too bland, frivolous, or silly. I did not appreciate her role in letting Jace believe she chose Ricky over him. She does not explain to Jace why she needs to talk to her boyfriend Ricky and allows the following tragic events to succeed. The storyline was okay to read, but I did not particularly like it; I was a little disappointed in the author's development of the events and the female character. However, I am interested in reading Asher, Logan, and Lincoln. I am waiting for this book. I do not know when it will be released; there is no information about the release date. I am hoping it would be a better story than Jace.
