Denise has been reading since before she could talk. And to this day, escaping into a book is her go-to activity before anything else.
She likes to write about sassy women and semi-flawed alpha-esque men (hard on the outside and just a little soft on the inside.) Denise’s female characters always have strong friendships, potty mouths, and like to drink—a lot.
Denise is loyal to a fault, a bit too sarcastic, blindingly optimistic, and pretty freakin’ happy with life overall. If she couldn't be a writer, she'd be a singer in a classic rock band. Right after she learned to carry a tune. She has more purses than days in the month, an obsession with colored ink pens, and a slightly unhealthy bracelet habit.
Home is in the Pacific Northwest where she lives with six Siberian Huskies and a husband (BW) who has the patience and tolerance of a saint. And, lest she forget, Denise also lives with too many to count characters inside her head, who will eventually have their stories told.
Enemies to lovers and a fake relationship. I’ve gotta say enemies to lovers is not a trope I’d immediately pick up so I was suspicious about whether I’d like this book or not. I’ll admit, I thought I wouldn’t love it. It started out slow for me, but I have to say that it picked up quickly and at that point, it was a page-turner. I cried several times, reading about fake feelings that felt real almost immediately. I liked *almost* all of the characters; I disliked West so much. He was such a slimeball! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Jace is a race car driver who is in danger of losing a sponsor because of all the bad press about him. Charlotte is a PR agent who has been assigned to help him, and also Jace's friend's ex. Her boss Janice who used to date Jace is inexplicably mean to her. She tells Jace to get a girlfriend in order to look more stable and committed, and Jace and his friend West come up with the idea that Charlotte should fake date him. Charlotte and Jace don't get along because she blames him for her break-up with West, but spending time with him, it turns out that Jace is pretty funny and nice. They start texting daily and most of their kissing happens in private so it feels like more-than-just-fake, but none of them seem to be able to get the words out, something always happens to interrupt any potential moments of truth.
I loved this book because of the sassy banter between the main couple, and the writing style is quite entertaining. I wanted Charlie to have more closure about Janice and why she hated Charlie before her relationship with Jace but this was left an open question. This book is said to be set in the Driven world which I am not familiar with but the story stands alone and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Steam level: For most of the book they keep just wanting it.

It was good. Jace is the bad boy if NSCAR. He gets in fights, gets drunk, and gets arrested. His biggest sponsor has had enough and have told him to shape up or they were going to drop him. His PR firm assigns Charlie to help revamp his image. Their plan is for him to stop partying and find a girlfriend. Jace asks Charlie to pose as his fake girlfriend.
I liked both Jace anf Charlie. I liked going back into the Driven World.
Overdrive is one of my favorites in the Driven world. Who doesn’t love a good fake fiancé, especially if she absolutely despises him?! Yet Charlie and Jace are explosive together and every minute they are together fireworks go off. I laughed a few times at these two and fell in love with them. The author has incorporated everything you love about her writing into one fantastic story. What happens when what is supposed to be fake starts to feel real? Jace is a racing car driver with a bad boy reputation and a commitment phobia. As soon as a woman gets clingy he drops them in the ‘kindest wa’ possible then moves on. He’s been arrested on more than one occasion at home and overseas. He always in the wrong place at the wrong time and the media blow things out of proportion. After ending his personal relationship with his PR agent she hands his case over to Charlie, (Charlotte), to try to clean up his latest mess. It’s drawn the attention of one of his biggest sponsors and he’s in trouble. Unfortunately Charlie is his best friends ex girlfriend. When they decide that he needs a steady girlfriend, Jace chooses Charlie, who doesn’t get a say in it. But as they ‘fake date’, they both begin to realise that the lines can get so easily blurred when feelings get involved. This was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read in the Driven universe. The banter between the two of them is so witty and their ‘thoughts’ about things hilarious. Absolutely brilliant.

Overdrive is the first book I have read by this author and I can say with certainty that it absolutely will not be my last .Enemies to Lovers and Fake Relationship are two of my all time favorite tropes , add in two characters that you won’t be able to stop yourself from falling in love with and a story that pulls at all your heartstrings . What more can you ask for . I just adored Charlie and Jace so much . The attraction between them is undeniable, and the chemistry they share is off the charts hot . Their relationship was not all hearts and flowers , there are many obstacles as well , but the more they get to know one another well feeling neither planned on start to grow end develop.. what a page turner and a emotional rollercoaster, I laughed , I cried , I found myself rooting for them so hard . Overdrive has all the feels , it’s steamy , angsty, intriguing, suspenseful, it’s heartbreaking and heartwarming, it’s a story filled with with love , happiness , second chances and so much more
Jace a troublemaker with a sexy face and body to match he fights, drinks too much, has been arrested and his sponsors are feed up with all of his antics so they gave him a choice to get it together or else he will be dropped all they want him to do is grow up, settle down. Charlie sweet knows her clients pretty well as their PR agents and Jace is the biggest handful so when he asked her to pose as his fake girlfriend she agrees only because she believes he can’t change boy was she wrong. Surprising she is exactly what Jace needed to change his image he shows her the real him underneath all the partying and it is so attractive although she never felt like there could be anything between them. The attraction is both ways but Jace doesn’t know how to tell her how he really feels and with it all being for a show to the public will they admit that there is something more between them than just an act, will Jace clean up his act, and can they find happiness?
Jace has racked up many indiscretions lately, and needs a quick, believable image rehab. The idea to choose his PR agent as his fake girlfriend seems excellent, but their fake show soon has real feelings. Can he trust these new, unfamiliar feelings?
Charlie is suckered into being Jace's fake girlfriend. Disbelieving of his ability to keep up the ruse, she is pleasantly surprised when the Jace she gets seems completely different from the man she thought she always knew. Can this bad boy leopard change his spots?
I really, really liked Jace & Charlie - Jace especially. The book was funny and sweet, with just a bit of drama. I would have liked for some resolution for Charlie career-wise, but otherwise, it was a great read that I absolutely recommend.

This was an enemies to lovers fake relationship romance.
Charlotte Charlie Bauer is a PR agent. Her ex-boyfriend is Jace's best friend West. She blames Jace for her breakup with West.
Jace Daughtry is a bad boy, immature, commitment phobic racing superstar. He has gotten into a lot of unsavory situations and his main sponsor has threatened to drop him if he gets into trouble once more. Charlie suggests he get a fake girlfriend to show he is in a steady relationship and is settled to appease his sponsor. Jace decides Charlie will be his fake girlfriend. While they are attending industry events, etc they start catching feelings for each other. They eventually get their issues resolved and find their HEA.

I liked the chemistry and banter between Charlie and Jace. My only criticism is that the book also seems to build up to some sort of confrontation between Janice and Charlie-- I thought Charlie would have a 'Screw you! I'm leaving and starting my own firm' moment (or something along those lines) or something would happen at that engagement party Janice said she was planning because Janice has been awful to Charlie even before she started her fake relationshipwith Jace. Instead, Janice essentially disappears from the book and we skip from the post-crash makeup scene to the Charlie-in-labour epilogue. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This was a fantastic read. I loved the constant bantering and attitude between Charlie and Jace. Their relationship may have started out as a PR move to rehabilitate his bad reputation, but they had plenty of chemistry and an easy way of being around each other.
The storyline has just enough angst and drama to keep it interesting without becoming frustrating or over the top. When misunderstandings occur they each have emotional reactions that are realistic, and don’t create lasting damage.
This was a very entertaining read with characters I enjoyed getting to know and a storyline that sizzled.

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I just adored Charlie and Jace so much.

Loved this book and can't wait to read more in the Driven World.

I love the Driven World K. Bromberg has created! Race car drivers, who doesn’t love them? This is my first book by Denise Wells and will definitely not be my last. At first, Jace comes off as jerk. What I really love is watching his transformation through the story and how much he changed with Charlie’s help. I didn’t understand West’s issue with Jace and Charlie being together. I would have liked to know why Janice did what she did. Was it really jealousy or something else? The plot was the standard enemies to friends with a little drama mixed in. It kept me entertained. I can’t wait to read more from the Driven World!

OMG, I loved Charlie and Jace together. Even though he was kind of a douchebag, they just rubbed each other the wrong way until it was natural and right.
This romance is sweet and yet sexy, it’s full of drama, funny and sarcastic, has you cheering for Jace and Charlie to make it real, real, and for Janice to have that smirk permanently vanished from her b!tchy face.
And yet it ends on the happiest of notes, with a wonderful happy ending!
A fake relationship and enemies to lovers has this moving into overdrive for sure. Jace and Charlie should be the least people with chemistry but their banter works and I loved how the story progresses.
I love the Driven world and how each author writes within the world. Jace and Charlie don’t disappoint with all their drama and slow burn chemistry. A great read!!
This was an ok read. I didn’t much care for Jace. He was a jerk most of the time. Charlie wasn’t the brightest bulb in the bunch. This combination made for a slow read.
