This is our town. We are the ones who ultimately decide whether you live or die, so be careful what sins you commit. We’re the Deadly Seven, the rejects, and we represent death to anyone who crosses a line we deem unacceptable. When she shows up in our town like some innocent avenging Angel, we don’t know what to think…so we watch. And the more we watch, the more obsessed we become. *** I’ve been on the run for the past four years. My Dad has done everything in his power to keep me hidden from the man who wants to destroy me, but you can only run for so long before you have to stop. Officially in Witness Protection, this is supposed to be my chance to finally have a normal life…but nothing is ever foolproof. If you think it is, you’re naive. I know I’m being watched. I can feel eyes on me every second of every day. I don’t think I’m as safe here as they want us to believe…

*This is book 1 in a 4 book series that must be read in order.*
**Dark Romance with stalking, non/con, dub/con and much much more. Read TW before attempting to read this series!**
***This is a reverse harem romance where the main character ends up with 3+ men. In this case, 7. If that isn't your thing then this series is not the right one for you. This book will also contain M/M scenes.***

too many continuity issues to have a decent believable plot ZERO LIKABLE CHARACTERS

First of all, there are so many typos & grammatical issues, throughout this book and it's very distracting. I could have done a better job of editing. Secondly, the plot wasn't believable at all. The point of witness protection is not to tell people about who they are. (A good alpha reader who can give honest feedback would have caught many of the excessive continuity issues here) Furthermore, what father would let 7 dudes sleep in his barely legal daughter's bedroom? I get that it's a fantasy but I need to have some reality thrown in so I can focus on the plot and not think about all the inconsistencies. The seven guys are supposedly psycho but mostly act like immature high school boys. They claim to murder people who rape hurt abuse women & children to save innocent kids. however Creed, one of the seven, assaults the FMC and everyone acts like it's no big deal. They just expected it out of him and they forgive him immediately. During her assault, the “innocent virgin” stabs him after she reaches orgasm. I just felt like it was stupid. Thirdly, these vigilantes never have, nor care for any prof the “bad guys” they torture and murder are actually guilty of said, crimes. The man in the beginning who is accused of raping his 8 yr old son swears he didn’t do anything and it’s never stated how the “7” have proof, he did… and it’s said 2 sentences into his torture that “HE ADMITTED IT” however I went back and re read over and over but nowhere does he admit to any atrocities he is accused of! He swears right up to his gory violent death, he is innocent and maintains it. It seems the author can’t remember her own story 3 sentences after she wrote it. Also CREED is pretty much a rapist himself and rapes all his victims and claims it’s justified. however the author gives us any proof that the vigilantes have any proof other than .. they “believe the people they torture & kill are guilty of the crimes of which they are accused of”. On no ones word except the 7 guys. Themselves. So, They all have been abused themselves and it feels like to me.. the reader that these 7 men are projecting their abuse onto the people they kill of committing atrocities. Other than the guy at the party Amber sends to rape FMC. All the other victims are not even guilty of anything other than pissing off the 7 vigilantes. Fourthly, The author is constantly reminding the reader that the FMC is a “milky white, tiny, innocent, angelic virgin who weilds knives” ok so what? I have more than 3 neurons firing in my brain and I could do without all the repetitive reminders that FMC is a sweet innocent virgin” Really?? Another thing that didn't make sense was Amber and her minions. I didn't really get the purpose of her character. It was more vapid drama but to what end? Amber hates MFC cause she is pretty and a threat to her popularity? What? are we 12 yrs olds? So vapid and if that wasn’t shallow enough, the whole town, All these people just suddenly hate her because she's “so hot” and another group of people love her because she's so hot. That's it? That is the bulk of the plot other than a Russian man wants FMC. The author doesn't give us any other reasons to like her, other than she She's a hot, tiny, innocent girl that needs protection. The best friend character Katrina, was pointless too. There is no substance to this story. It's just an empty shell with unlikable characters and a plot that doesn't make sense. I believe it had some potential but with the typos and massive quantities of continuity issues are just unforgivable. No thank you and apparently **spoiler alert the Russian guy Dimitri, who bought and paid for FMC years ago who has been searching for her. …he isn’t even a bad guy at all and her father has been lying to her the whole time.. she was never in any danger of being used as a child sex slave by the Russian man Dimitri, who bought her from her slimy neglectful mother. He just only ever wanted to protect her from a bad life. He is not a child molester at all! There is not a single likable character at all in this whole book except Dimitri and HE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE A PART .. and as for the MFC calling a fluffy white munchkin cat .. “so ugly she loves it anyway” no no no no no.. I’ve never seen an ugly munchkin.. but I’ve also never seen an ugly cat either. Even hairless cats are still cute, just different. They are never ugly but how can a fluffy tiny white munchkin kitten be “so ugly, I love it anyway” ? Nope! if you think so.. I can’t like you as a person, and you have no soul.

Ok seriously what in the wattpad was this. It looks like a teenager wrote it. Tf did i just read. The author’s note was like “you are gonna see the dark side of Cassie” smtg like that but what i get is an immature writing with cringe and annoying characters. First of all, heroine is supposed to be at college but why do they behave like middle school shits? She is new in college, the mean girl is like “the hot dude is mine” then another girl comes rescues the heroine and they are bffs. What the fuck bro. It was like the mean girl was not a mean girl but an angel from God who was sent to make That girl and heroine friends. Not even a day goes by and they are bffs for life, probably making friendships bracelets.

Dont get me started on Lukas. He is supposed to be a cop who pretends to be the heroine’s bf to protect her but after 3 days he goes to her room and be like “lets date for real cuz i cant control my self anymore”. And they start kissing like little virgins. This dude is supposed to be 10 yrs older than her and a cop. What the fuck is this book. Who wrote the authors note? Cuz it seems like a bunch of little shits running around and killing ppl for shits and giggles. These are the guys who are back benchers and write poems about death, tells everyone they are vampires and forces themselves to love blood because oh they are vampires.

I did not even finish this book. Dnf at 25% cuz after these stupid ass scenes i was done cuz my high school friend with a F in English can write better than this.

Ugh

I miss when authors actually cared about their craft. In the RH genre you’ll find some of the worst writing you could possibly see. RH authors know that it’s not really a big genre so we kinda get whatever is written……I wish RH authors cared about the readers.

My question is how can you write something this bad & put it out KNOWING it’s bad???? Yes there is subjectivity when it comes to how well written sometime but come on. We all know bad writing when we see it.

This could have so much good potential as well as other RH series/books but….y’all need to take writing classes or something because wow.

Moving on from that.

None of the characters were likable. It would have been better if the author was true to herself & made them high school students bc that’s what they acted like. The FL (female lead) was very annoying & the way she was described as tiny & pure & milky skin & blah blah was gross.

The author was trying too hard to make them psycho or whatever to the point where it was just cringe. And no father or parent period would be ok with their freshly out of high school daughter being in a relationship with 7 men, especially with one being almost 30 what the f_ck???!

Anyway read at your own risk.

I can’t believe I finished it

This book. It’s full of errors - grammar, word choice, spelling, quote tags, punctuation…but that pales to the sheer ridiculousness of the story itself. The author has no clear idea of how WITSEC works, because apparently everyone in the local police force is guarding her and the FBI is in charge of her case. IRL, the program is run by the US Marshals and it only works if NO ONE ELSE KNOWS. That includes the police.

There are just so many problems with the plot, the characters (Mary Sue and her 7 psychos), their reactions to things. Things that should have an explosive reaction are just “meh” and things that should be “meh” are met with explosive over-reactions. One of the “heroes” s3Xually ASSAULTS the FMC and he basically gets slapped like a puppy, even though they k!ll people for doing the same thing to other people.

There’s also too much going on. What’s the point of the “best friend?” She adds nothing to the book. You could cut her out and lose nothing. The mean girl is really OTT, and it makes zero sense.

A lot of things don’t make sense.

How does a town of 500 have such a large police force? How does it have a college? How do the 7 make their money? Where is Lukas’s dad? How are they a secret when literally everyone knows who they are? And on and on it goes.

The last four chapters really jumped the shark though. I mean, the chapter with her dad confronting them all? Unrealistic. Then when the FMC hears the argument later between her dad and Lukas and then goes out the window, when she just told someone she thought she was in danger? TSTL. I mean, come on.

I struggled to finish this book, but I won’t be reading the next.

This book was just too all over the place for me. It skipped from problem to problem with barely any fleshing out of the story. It's said to be really dark and sure there are some very dark scenes but overall the it felt more like a YA story when it came to the characters. I can't say I hated all of the guys but mostly I just didn't care about them, other than Creed who just seemed a little too mental for me. I'm not even mad that he was the "crazy" one from the group, but his constant "She's my doll" was annoyingly repetitive.

Alright, I have been teased and teased with this book for months. MONTHS. I am so glad that these two brilliant brains put this world together. I am in LOVE!!

The Deadly Seven run the town that Haliee and her dad move to. One of them is undercover to help them in witness protection. This harem is EVERYTHING! They may all be dark and twisted in their own way, but Haliee brings out their good sides and can help them control their demons.

The guys are 🔥🔥🔥. Lukas, Torren, Creed, Mathias, Oliver, Corden and Barren are amazing. We hear some back story from some, but I cannot wait to hear all of them. My heart was breaking for one of them and I want to wrap him up and cuddle him. My baby Creed y'all 😍, he may be a bit on the crazy side, but ya girl likes em that way 😏😏 (I love them all, but Creed for real)

Guys! I am BLOWN away by this book! The world building and character building is 👌👌. The plot is great, it's bloody, it's spicy, it's dark, it's everything I imagined and more. I cannot wait for the next one!

Obsession is the first book I’ve read by Cassie Hargrove and this book is Story Brooks debut book.

The world building is insane, the plot has so many twists and turns that I was holding onto the edge of my seat.

Hailee is the FMC and as soon as she moves to town she instantly gets the attention of The Deadly Seven. Lukas aka Pride, Barron aka Gluttony, Corden aka Lust, Mathias aka Sloth, Torren aka Envy, Oliver aka Greed, and my personal favorite Creed aka Wrath.

I was dying to get my hands on this book and I have to say that is was everything I thought it would be and more.

This book is DARK so please make sure you heed all trigger warnings!

I can’t wait for book 2!!!

Bravo Cassie and Story 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I can tell this series is going to be LIFE!!!!

Haliee and her father Brent have recently arrived in a new town enrolled in the Witness Protection Program. There, Haliee meets detective Lukas, 10 years her senior, who aside from his position with the police department will be undercover as her boyfriend. The two become infatuated with each other. Likewise, his brothers of vigilante justice "seven deadly sin," from the more quiet Sloth / Mathias to the psychotic Wrath / Creed, also become enthralled with Haliee. This story follows their growing attraction, situational encounters in school, and the imminent Russian threat from which Hailee is escaping.

This was faster pace story, capturing my attention initially. I liked the burgeoning attraction and chemistry between Lukas and Hailee as well as the diversity of personalities of the key characters. Haliee was sassy and sweet though constantly revered for her physical attractiveness, her diminutive body and creamy skin. Every guy liked her or was attracted to her, and this seemed to be the tool to build sexual tension, desire, and obsession. At the same time, every mean girl hated her simply for being threatened by Haliee's beauty. Unfortunately, leveraging physical attractiveness came across unconvincingly and implausible.

While I did like the characters, I would have liked more character development. Often it was difficult to distinguish one hero from the other within their respective points of view; they mostly portrayed the same "voice" except for the more extremes of personalities, the latter of whom were entertaining. Given that there were seven of them, it created challenges in immersing in the book. Additionally Haliee had reactions out of her established character as well as made decisions that didn’t make sense to her character and what she knew. For instance, Haliee deliberately running into the woods knowing the danger she spoke out about. Some plot lines were questionable.

Lastly, poor editing. So many grammatical errors.

Overall, the premise of the story was good, reverse harem romantic suspense, a little steam, even some MM and great guys. Not a dark book by my standards although there were some violence and a power exchange. It was intriguing and entertaining and left me curious as to how this story plays out.

Obsession is the first book within The Deadly Seven series. Ever since I came across this book, I've wanted to jump into its pages to see what lurked beneath the dark shadows. Definitely devoured this and was pleasantly surprised with everyone involved.

In this, you will meet Hailee. She's on the run with her father due to a psychotic Russian guy coming after her. It doesn't help that her mother, basically an egg donor, sold her to him either. She's tired of running and constantly looking over her shoulder. The last thing she expects to find is safety in this town but maybe the Witness Protection Program will do some good. Or maybe, just maybe, it's the seven deadly sins who will?

Now the guys, aka deadly seven, are something. Either crazy or obsessive to some but protective of their own. So, with Hailee being the new girl in town they don't exactly trust her. They also aren't a fan of one of their own being undercover for them either. I definitely enjoyed getting to read from their point of views in this one. Whether it was getting to read about their nightmares or just what they thought about people living within this town. It was entertaining to say the least.

I also think I liked the guys point of views way more than Hailee's. Don't get me wrong. She's an easy girl to like and knows how to protect herself. I just think diving into their minds was way more fun since they are crazier.

In the end, I'm weirdly excited that we got inside the villain's head. Even though it was a pretty short chapter, I just want to know more about him. He's equally obsessed with her and not particularly happy with the seven guys in her life. Definitely can't wait to meet him and hopefully save her dad in the end.

I really liked this story! But holy shit, Hailee is dumb as fuck sometimes. So are the guys! Why would you go to a party hosted by the chick that you know wants to get the h raped? And why would they let her take off by herself in any of these scenarios that she does!? And the last one. h has a gut feeling that Dimitri's guys are outside. What does she do when her dad and one of the H's are fighting? You guessed it! Dumbass ran outside. There are 7 of these guys, and they can't keep this chick out of trouble. Ugh. But now I have to wait 2 months for the next one to come out to see what happens. Let's see what other bullshit she gets herself into

fell short

This book has so so much potential!! It’s basically a list of everything I love in a book but I felt like it was rushed. The characters not fully fleshed out & just when it almost reaches that perfect high note it fell short not quite reaching that epic note. In saying that I still really enjoyed the story and will be reading the next one in the series

I AM OBSESSED Let me go ahead and say that again for the folks in the back I AM OBSESSED!!!

Ma’am’s excuse you!!!! You coming out the gate hot with this one!!! This baby is straight fire! Blew my damn mind!

I just don’t even know where to begin with this book. Haliee is freaking everything these men needed in their lives and didn’t know it yet, she was about to turn their entire world upside down. She is sweet, caring, understanding and feisty not to mention a warrior and a survivor. This girl right here can handle herself and pretty much anything thrown her way especially the guys of the Deadly Seven.

Our guys are fantastic they are all crazy AF in their own way but also know what each other needs like the back of their hand. They are family through and through and that family now includes Haliee and Brent.

While I am a #whychoose girl all day long but CREED be still my black heart with this man. I love everything there is too love with his obsessed crazy AF self. This man will have you LOL at some of the ish that comes out of his mouth.

The story, the plot, the characters are so well thought out and written to perfection. I was captivated from page one until the end and was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. I know this is book 1 and I am seriously dying to get my hands on the next one already. I need more ASAP. 10000% a MUST READ!!!

I’ve been waiting for this book since I read the blurb and I finally got my hands on it! This is my first book from these two authors and I am in love.

The book starts with Haliee, a girl on the run with her dad from a man her mom sold her to to pay off a debt. They move to a small town where she is out in witness protection. She meets Detective Lukas Michael’s. What she finds out later is Lukas and his brothers Torren, Ollie, Mathias, Barren, Corden, and Creed. They make up the Deadly Seven who run the town and take care of all the vermin lurking about. Over time feelings grow and Haliee and the guys become close. They promise to protect her and keep her safe.

I enjoy all the characters in this book. It’s hard writing so many people but these two nailed in. You can really see the different personalities and how they all fit together. All the guys are amazing. There is something about each of them that I love. Haliee is a great fmc. I love that she knows how to take care of herself while also showing vulnerability. Haliee’s dad Brent is also great. Serious dad goals. Haliee is his world and their relationship is heartwarming. This book had some of my favorite things. Suspense, a good amount of violence and lots of steam. We get one heck of an ending and I’m cursing these authors for leaving me hanging. I’m so excited for the next book and hope vengeance is served.

Rape in the harem

I wanted to like this so muchbut it really fell short. There is likely no character development whatsoever. We're told how these men are Demons because of their twisted background but they really just come off as kinky boys. The stalking isn't hot because it's not consensual. Creed corners Hailee and forces an organism on her so she stabs him. The other guys reprimand him briefly but that's it. What he did was 100 percent rape and their group supposedly kills rapists, but it's cool because he's too crazy to know otherwise? No. I skimmed to the end after that but I'm done. I'm fine with dark if it comes from outside the harem. This went way too far and there wasn't even a compelling story to make up for it. This author is definitely going on my never again list and I absolutely do not recommend this.

Good start!

Okay, I'm so feeling this books series so far. I'm loving the characters development, but more then that I'm loving that the author didn't make our FMC a totally wuss! I love that she fights and try to save herself and not necessarily wait for one of her male alphas to rush in to save her! Cheering on our girl Haliee (Scratch, Angel, Doll, and Baby girl) on!

Well off to book 2 and hopefully our FMC will turn out to be a major badass herself! (Fingers crossed)

I genuinely don't know how to rate this, so im playing safe and going 3. But this was definitely a case of overhype and I am underwhelmed. Although I didn't hate it, I was confused and frustrated so let me list why.

▪︎What genre am I reading? Who knows.
I was wondering whether this series was fantasy/paranormal given the references to the seven deadly sins and for a hot second I thought ok they're THE sins. But no, just a coincidence that 7 men have the exact traits of each sin and just happened to find each other. Who are all so fucked up that all it takes is one look at Haliee and they're magically all cured when they're around her. Again I thought maybe some magic at play here? Apparently not. Bit weird but I ran with it.

▪︎Besides Lukas and Mathais, what do the men even look like?! I am a visual reader, I need full descriptions or I can't get into the story and then I lose interest in the men.

▪︎They decide to become judge jury and executioner to the trash of the world yet they have a rapist stalker in the harem? Makes sense. But wait, its fine because his obsession with Haliee means he can't actually hurt her... I read the trigger warnings, I knew it was a darker romance and I have no issue with Non-Con in a book but NOT from a supposed harem member. And yes, she stabbed him but seemed all was forgiven literally a few hours later. He barely got a slapped wrist from the guys.

▪︎Did this book have an editor? Because I logged so many typos and errors my thumbs got tired.

▪︎And finally, what the fuck was that ending. Skip this section for spoilers because God damn Haliee is a fucking idiot. Like *no one* can be *that* astute and yet so fucking stupid at the same time. She calls Ollie telling him she knows the mafia men are outside her house watching her even though she can't see them. She overhears an argument between her boyfriend and dad and hears her bf lied to/omitted information to her which he's never done before. So what does she do? CLIMBS OUT THE WINDOW AND RUNS TO THE WOODS WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR HER. Which she literally just called Ollie to say she knew were there... and he's watching on the cameras as she's literally SHOCKED when she runs into the mafia men... I have never seen such stupidity and contradiction in one scene before now.

This could have been such a great story if there had been more editing and secondary input. If it was just fleshed out and polished it could have really been something.

I get what the author was trying to do, and the incorporating of the seven deadly sins was intriguing but each guy bled into each other—at most points I couldn’t tell you who was narrating.

Another big issue: each person has their own first person narrative and it just blendded and muddled together to the point where you get lost.

The insta-love is way too ridiculous—all seven of them meet her and suddenly she's their entire world? There’s no building of relationships or character growth.

The author tried to go for dark and edgy but just relied on shock value to do it—telling us that they each had traumatic pasts and just letting it justify everything.

But my biggest complaint is Creed. He takes on the sin of wrath because he’s violent and psychotic and has a thing for blood play. On the surface not terrible (see Den of Vipers for a much better characterisation of such a character), but the execution was terrible.

Nothing made me care about him—I actually I hated him and his chapters. The harem was so poorly organised that there was zero character definition of growth.

Honestly 0.5/5

Firstly I was really excited about this release, everything I saw in the lead up to it had me so intrigued. I really enjoy larger harems and their dynamics so as soon as I saw it was a fair few love interests AND it contains M/M it was an obvious pre-order for me.

And I loved everything about it. It was very fast burn/insta love but it worked for the story.

It was a relatively quick read but I am a fast reader so it may just be me! But it left me wanting more pages to turn!

This is totally not a negative AT ALL... But I would have loved a little more physical character description, I'm not really sure what anyone is supposed to look like but again this is a personal preference! It doesn't detract from the story in any way, but I do enjoy a good character descript!

All in all this was a really enjoyable read and I'm already looking forward to book 2.

This book had potential, let me start off by saying that.

It was very cringe worthy, the fmc is hard to really like because she really doesn’t have a lot of substance to her character. The guys seem like they’re young high school boys who behave erratically. The grammatical errors were also distracting.

I am going to try and read the second book because I do feel like the story has potential and hopefully they can redeem themselves and by they I mean all the characters. Also, I think I like Dimitri (the bad guy) because he never even wanted to harm her, he only ever wanted to protect her and give her a good life. Did Haliee’s dad know that??

Hott beginning to get into a great series. I'm so into these Seven Deadly Sins. It's a brilliant plot. I love the multiple POVs. Every character has his view written and I love it!

This had SO much potential. It was hard to follow at times because of the writing and punctuation. The characters needed to be built up more. I liked the basis of the story enough to finish, but I just felt the characters were too over the top psycho at times in a cringe worthy, cheesy way. And The nickname "scratch"? Horrible name! that bring said I might pick up the book, but with most cliffhangers where I can't wait for next book.....I can wait for this one.

For all the dark mood/theme this story projects, I had a lot more fun than anything. Hailee is a strong character and can hold her own despite the stresses of her history. Or well, because of her history, she can hold her own. Each of the seven brothers are unique and there are some established relationships, but not in the traditional sense, again, because of their history which we are slowly starting to understand. The story is told in multiple POVs with even Hailee's father taking part which I thought was unique and welcoming. The plot is interesting enough as the 'FMC on the run from bad guy and ends up at X".

There were a few violent/graphic moments that might make some readers uncomfortable, hence the trigger warnings. One H is a manwhore so there are some OW drama but how it gets handled was pretty fucking hilarious.

Despite it being fun, a couple of things that I didn't enjoy all too much. I was sometimes confused as to which character was speaking. It was structured that "Person A says something" *person X reacts*. It's told in multiple POVs and on top of different people responding to the speaker, it was difficult to sometimes know who was speaking. There were also some wrong word usage so another round of proofreading would help. I didn't get a deep connection with the characters, unfortunately, no matter how fun the story was. It ends on a cliffhanger and although I'm curious, I'm not super excited to continue with the series.

Overall, it was a fun first to a series but it didn't capture me like other similar stories.

really not good

There is just so much wrong here. The FMC is just terrible. I can’t tell if she’s just totally stupid or if she’s just naive? There are so many examples of strong female characters who have gone through trauma out there and it’s like the authors ignored all of them. Not to mention nothings really happened to her yet. There’s only been the threat of her being kindnaped and they’re acting like she’s gone through some serious stuff like the guys have. She’s obviously not mature enough to handle any of the stuff that goes on in the book. She’s a ten year old in the body of an eighteen year old. The guys I think could be fantastic if they were put in the hands of another author but here, they seem like knockoffs of other similar characters from much better series. Then we have our “bad guy”. From his chapter he reads like one of the love interests from other dark romances I’ve read. I think I like him more than I like the seven guys we’re supposed to like. Hey maybe he can get Haliee to grow up a little bit. Actually do the girl some good for once in her life.
My advice: skip this one, there are so many better written characters and stories to fall in love with. Don’t waste your time.

This book was so bad, it was funny again. Everything that happened was so hilarious and so weird. Plus the writing was really easy and not good.
I would even go so far and say that if there weren’t SEVEN boys from who ALL had POVs over the book, it would‘ve been even more boring. Because if there wasn’t anything completely stupid happening, there was nothing at all happening. Just random POVs from one of the boys I didn‘t know for three pages and then the next one I couldn’t even remember reading about.

The characters were all so unlikeable and hypocrites. And first of all there were all the same. They acted like 13 year olds and were supposed to be 20 and the bf of the FMC was 28!
Everything in this book was unbelievable and so annoying.

I skimmed and skipped a lot towards the end.

Ok so I gave it a 3 but it was still fun. I’m going to read the other 3 for sure cas I’m invested it just isn’t a 5. And I have put other books that were just more substantial at 4s so I had to do a 3. I’ll say 3.5.

Again. It’s fun. I love reverse harems. I think the audiobook is really funny Creed sounds INSANE. The voice actor doesn’t differentiate between the other male voices toooooooo well so that could be a tad better but I enjoyed hearing book 1. Gave me some audio visuals for reading the next 3 instead of doing their audios lol

Anyway. Like I said. It’s a fun ride super wild and Defn gotta leave reality behind while your in this lol

I had issues with this book and couldn't get past and will not make me continue the series.

The concept and story were a solid idea and each of the guys represented one of the seven deadly sins I was in.

The one big issue I had was one of the MMC SA the FMC and although there are trigger warnings of CNC and dub-con this felt very off as she said no and was not wet with arousal but thought she might like it. It just didn't connect. As the deadly seven delivers justice to those who have assaulted others this was really disappointing how the others reacted to her assault and were shrugged of as "Oh Creed you psycho".

I found Hailee somewhat immature and annoying, especially with what she has been through I would thought she would be more mature. She seems to have a Bella effect from Twilight; she was an angel and so precious and needs to be protected. We only see her quality through the guy's POV all seem superficial. Hot, caring and sweet none of what we see from her are looked into more.

Insta Love has no build-up; it just glazes over the beginnings of Luke and Hailee's relationship that doesn’t really feel their chemistry.

I hate Amber don’t know who pissed in her cheerios cause she is annoying as hell and this vendetta against Hailee is just tiresome all because of the men she is with.

Also, this dad is the most understanding chilled dad I have ever read about. So he said that guys kill bad people. He that's cool as long as you protect me daughter missing the waving red flags. Even dating the guys, he liked this a-ok with me.

I do feel you know more about the male characters the deadly seven but wasn't even come to how my attention. And the birth control issues it's ok I'm not ovulating what an 18-year-old girl says that like sure come inside I won't get pregnant as my period is due. The nonsense.

One spicy scene which I loved was with some MM action and that was the only thing really that I enjoyed.

Okay so whilst yes I may have rated this 2 stars, let me preface this by saying I really enjoyed this book and I can’t for the life of me explain why.

The writing was chopping a lot of “she did, said, gasped” writing and at times it didn’t flow well. The Random POVs thrown in the end of her dad and Dimitri was confusing because they felt out of left field.

The plot idea and foundation was superb but 90% of this book felt like them saying she was an angel and they’re obsessed with her (Well it’s called Obsession Shann of course they’re obsessed). Let’s just say they were obsessed with telling us how obsessed they were with her.

Let’s dissect Hailee a little bit real quickly, she’s a meek sacred girl who has nightmares, she’s inexperienced sexually and life wise and she’s being hunted. But then she’s got the training and balls to protect herself not only from the rapey jock but Creed also. But is scared because Lukas raised his voice? Boo hoo. Either be a bad ass stabby FMC or cry because someone shouted. They don’t mix well in my honest opinion.

Anyway I loved it and I’m gonna finish the series. Don’t judge me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed this book , I was a little iffy on it because the trigger warning ( non-con and dub-con ) so if your hesitant, it’s more of a kink that everyone involved is ok with , the exception being one instance that I don’t consider ‘bad’ as it’s a kink for the guy and she’s not ..set off , I guess is the best way to say it ?… I don’t want to spoil the story , so I’ll just say , I was ok with it , despite my usual issues with dub / non con . Overall , well written , good flow , I’d like to get more of the guys backstory , looking forward to book 2 , definitely on the fave list :)
