This is book two in the Blue Haven Cozy Mysteries series & picks up a few months after the conclusion of book one so if you haven't read that one yet, go pick up Break-In & Eggs first.

Veronica Walker is still the local food blogger keeping her identity a secret in this picturesque little beach town in North Carolina. There's a lot of criminal mischief going on which is highly unusual for this quiet little small town & tension is at an all time high! It's annual Fall Festival season as well in Blue Haven so there's plenty of mouth watering seasonal treats as well as fun festival activity descriptions throughout which make me long to be there. The returning favorites Declan, the towns favorite handsome detective & Gemma, the hilariously feisty best friend from New York are just as entertaining as they were in book one!

I thoroughly enjoyed this adorably sweet little cozy mystery as the story continues. The authors depictions of the bistros & boutiques, food & festivities with all of its charming Hallmark vibes are just perfect. There is a touch more romance brewing between the two main characters this time around which makes me eager to get to book three to see where that leads! Talk about slow burn! LOL So if you're a lover of cozy mysteries in general, like sweet Hallmark movie vibes & have a love of small town crime solving...definitely give this delightful series a try!

Blue Haven is calm, serene and beautiful, a jewel on the Atlantic coast. But all is not as it seems along the peaceful boardwalk. Some sinister person unknown is playing a series of horrible pranks on the proprietors of the little breakfast bistros and boutique shops. Veronica is immediately drawn into the action. After all, Blue Haven is now her home, and sleuthing is her favourite pastime.

There is also the handsome detective assigned to the case...

With Scout at her side, and a little help from her roommate and best friend, Veronica makes up her mind to solve the mystery. After all, the peace of the town is at stake. And it may be more than that, if the clues are anything to go by.

I loved this book. It's a slice of small town life, and the descriptions of the food made my mouth water. I recommend snapping it up.

No murder but definitely plenty of mystery. Kept me guessing until the end. Very clever. Veronica and Declan are great but the action really kicks up a notch when Gemma arrives in town. Great characters. Great story. All around fun, enjoyable series.
