A two-thousand-year-old grudge, and a reckless and primal passion. Will the dark demons be their doom or salvation?
After falling through hell’s portal, Tori and Beniamin discover new magical powers while battling frightening demons in the hostile afterlife. But as more monsters close in on them, they must rely on the protection of the dark ones, ancient demons who for centuries have been harboring a festering grudge against the Amaroki wolves.
As much as she fears the dark demons, Tori can’t deny the call in her soul as if they’d always been her destined mates. How could she love such beasts, and how can they be capable of loving her when their hearts turned to ash centuries ago?
Beniamin feels a strong yet perplexing connection to them, too—almost as if he’d always been part of their pack. But these demons harbor dangerous secrets, and he does not want to stay long enough to find out what they are.
Tori and Beniamin have no choice but to obey their hellish hosts. If they don’t, an even worse death awaits them.

This was incredible! After reading book eight I was desperate to find out what had happened to Benjamin and Tori and let me tell you, I could not put this down it was so so good! There’s a lot going on and we get to find out how the Amaroki and Amara came about which was so interesting. It’s an exciting and dangerous storyline, it’s hot and it’s steamy, there’s action, there’s challenges, there’s demons and monsters and there’s wrongs made right. We get answers to so many questions , we get a great story with great characters and is an integral part to this incredible series that I have loved from the very start.
This book was a fantastic read that had me hooked from the first page all the way till the last. It moves along at a pace which is perfect for this story. Speeding up and slowing down as needed. It has characters that you want to know more about and no matter what happens you will fall in love with them. This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.
I just love this series! I was in shock after the end of the last book, what was Tori and Benjamin's fate to be? I was so excited to find out, I devoured this book in a few hours! And did I ever find out! So exciting! So many conflicting thoughts from Tori and Benjamin, so many decisions to make and I followed them all avidly. I relished the restraint Dragomir and his brothers showed around Tori, since, let's face it, they are demons! The sexual tension was oh so hot and the scenes very vivid, ooh la la steamy!!! It was so interesting to read about the beginnings of the Amaroki and Amara, I was honestly astounded by the behaviour of Amarok and his brothers, having met them before in prior books, where they were benevolent and, well, nice! I reluctantly understand their reasoning but still! Although Jezebeth is the proverbial baddie, I have a lot of sympathy for her, ok, I admit, her actions were at times abominable but mostly she's more desperate than malevolent. I loved the different perspectives from the various characters and Bug stole my heart! What a sweetheart. I loved how the story progressed, the challenges all the characters faced and the final outcome was a dream!
After a years-long hiatus following the first three books, I decided to return to Tara West's captivating world—and I was instantly hooked all over again. I completely binge-read the rest of the 11-book series and fell back in love with every page.
I am utterly in awe of Tara West’s storytelling prowess. Her plotting is flawless; each book seamlessly piggybacks off the previous one, continually ramping up the action and emotional stakes. What truly made this series shine was the consistent presence of the main cast. Watching the characters evolve, grow, and see their families expand across so many books felt incredibly special and forged a deep, lasting connection to the entire narrative. The adorably fierce female leads and the irresistible male characters—who had me positively melting—were unforgettable.
Remarkably, every book gets better than the last. You witness Tara West's writing evolve into something truly magical, and her creativity in crafting this world is astounding. Now that I’m finished, the fictional world she built is one I genuinely miss. It's that rare series you wish you could step into and live in! I'm so glad I returned to this journey; it is, without a doubt, something special. I can't wait to read more from Tara West
OMG this book is so good. I have being in love with this series from the start but this book, this book is the jewel of the crown!! It takes such a different way from the others that is blew my mind. I don't want to say much not to spoil anything but I can safely say that we see old enemies meet their fate, wrongs made rights, we learn about how the Amaroki came to be and who were Amaroki and Amara and just how much Jezebeth's story has been linked to our beloved shifters. Tori and Benjamin story took a sharp turn that we weren't expecting but that turned out to be awesome. Can't say enough, can't praise it enough. The book is even better than anything I could say!!!
Wow! This was another great book in this series! This book had so many twists and turns, that I had to keep reading to find out what happened to my favorite characters. I am going to be sad when this series ends! In this book, we learn so much about the history of the Amaroki. We were able to see a whole new side to Jezebeth. I loved seeing Tori and Beniamin's relationship continue to develop throughout the book. I can't wait to read the next book, and I look forward to seeing more of Phoenix.
This entire series is excellent! I love shifter books I didn’t think I would enjoy a demon spin but in the end I enjoyed the last book as much as I did the others. Can’t wait to read other books by this author.
I absolutely LOVE this series and each book just gets better and better. Be warned you will get sucked in and stay up late reading. This book is filled with action, love, spice and need. Protectors, wolves, witches and demons OH MY!!!!! Absolute Perfection!!
This addition to the series will blow you away. It will make you sad, amazed, baffled, and eventually, happy. There are enough twists and turns to make you want to keep reading to the end! Forget sleep.....it's overrated!!! 😄
What a twist! Vengeance at its finest! As well as a reclaimed love and brother. I cannot wait to continue this chaotic world and see what happens next on this journey! Especially with an epilogue like that! Shew!!! Things are about to get crazy!
Wow Tara this series just keeps getting better and better. It's taken a sudden turn around and I am so enthralled that I just can't stop reading it (mind you I've been like that from the start). Book10 here I come.
Another great addition to the series. Tori and Beniamin end up throught a portal and must fight demons. But when they encounter the dark ones they both feel a pull in their soul. With secrets plot twists and 1000 year grudges you will have to read and see if is enough.
HfHDW starts with where book 8 left off: Tori and Beniamin are lost in Hell. The stumble upon a cave that smells safe, and are able to relax.. until the residents return. Three demon wolves who claim Tori and Beniamin are their long lost brother and mate reincarnated. Flashback scenes reveal how Jezebeth the djinn stole the demon wolf souls and created the Amaroki species. Tori and Beniamin must fight the temptation to join the brothers, try to find a way to return to their world, and face the impending danger of Beniamin's shifter brothers and fathers who still hunt them in Hell. Will the two accept the help of the strangers who feel so familiar? Or will they succumb to the perils of the wasteland?
HfHDW was almost like a standalone at the same time as it was a continuation of the bigger storyline. I really enjoyed learning about the origins of the Amaroki species, despite the heartbreak caused by the actions. Seeing the goddess Amara and her mates discovering their powers was the perfect bandage for Jezebeth's damage. Tori ans Beniamin were faced with an impossible decision, and I'm glad they were able to make a decision in the end and get their HEA.. or HFN because there's a sequel to the demon wolf story coming this summer.
I'm so invested in this series. Tara West is a one click author for me, and I look forward to the continuation of her HfHW series!
