Master storyteller Margot Early has known from a very young age that she was born into her vocation. Storytelling has been part of her life since she was a child—whether plotting Nancy Drew cases in the basement of Palo Alto, California’s historic Squire House, pretending to live in trees (while climbing them) or tapping the keys of an ancient manual typewriter, writing stories to share with friends.
One of her most vivid and joyful childhood memories is when she realized she could read and interrupted a bridge party to display her knowledge. A writer from the age of nine or ten, she has always had an audience—her friends, sisters and parents listening to what she wrote.
A friend and fellow journalist once told her that she was a circle—perfect. The very full circle of Margot Early’s life has included some tough times, which she knows have made her a better and more insightful writer.
Early, who owns neither a car nor a television, believes her greatest wealth is her friends—and she’s glad to count many relatives among them. Living in a town of four hundred, high in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, she enjoys the outdoors, dancing, spinning dog hair and spending time with her pets, which include German shepherds, snakes and tarantulas.
Everyone’s past is revealed in the story on different occasions except Marie Lafayette. Also, Marie’s uncle’s role is left mysterious. Louisa Fairchild’s character is well written showing her as the commanding matriarch who is strict on the outside but soft on the inside, who cares for her extended family as well as the Fairchild acres staff as her own family.
Rating : 3.5 The story was good but i felt as if the ending was rushed & had some loose ends left such as Marie's secret & who was responsible for An Indecent Proposal getting out of the stall. These unanswered questions made the story feel incomplete for me.

Odié esta novela de principio a fin. No me gustó para nada la protagonista esa bendita indecisión me ponía de los nervios. Está novela me hizo sentir incómoda y enfadada en cada página leída.
The Preston Family is building a thoroughbred racing dynasty in Kentucky and Australia. However, disaster seems to be striking at every turn and the family's legacy may be about to crumble…unless they can find out who is targeting the family and their horses. This series has characters that made me care. It also had mystery, intrigue and, of course, romance. I plowed through this series quickly….dying to find out what would happen next. My only disappointment is that there isn't a 13th book to the series. I really want the surprise hero in The Secret Heiress to find his own happiness.
I have to admit that I'm something of a book cover snob. I would never have picked up these books in a bookstore. However, Flirting with Trouble, the first book in the series, is by an author I enjoy. Because I stumbled across it as an ebook and downloaded it, I didn't actually see the cover until I opened the book on my iPod ebook reader. Good thing!!! I would have been disappointed to miss out on the Thoroughbred Legacy series.
The series consists of the following books: (1) Flirting with Trouble by Elizabeth Bevarly (2) Biding Her Time by Wendy Warren (3) Picture of Perfection by Kristin Gabriel (4) Something to Talk About by Joanne Rock (5) Millions to Spare by Barbara Dunlop (6) Courting Disaster by Kathleen O'Reilly (7) Who's Cheatin' Who by Maggie Price (8) A Lady's Luck by Ken Casper (9) Darci's Pride by Jenna Mills (10) Breaking Free by Loreth Anne White (11) An Indecent Proposal by Margot Early (12) The Secret Heiress by Bethany Campbell
