Luckily, I have a best friend like Mercedes for a shoulder to cry on. When she hands me tickets to six weeks of burlesque lessons, I all but shut her down. She doesn't give up, though, promising me that it'll be fun. After some prodding, I take her up on it.And a whole new world opens to me.Not only do I slowly start to regain the confidence that my ex stripped from me, but I begin to long for things that are way out of my league. Such as the CEO of the company I work for, Nikola Collins.Increased self-esteem or not, I know there's no way a powerful man like Nikola would ever look twice at me.

I liked this little snippet into Devyn [and Nikola] - it wasn't particularly memorable but for fans I think it should be read - especially since it's a kindle freebie.

Not ... really much to rate though - I think it just really delves into her insecurities, and ... >.> well I started Black Pearl again right after finishing it so I can't remember where she was with her lessons.

The Emergence of Black Pearl

I loved this prequel to the full length book Black Pearl. I’m super excited to read more about Devyn, her journey back to herself, Nikola, Mercedes, Andre, and Iris and Mistress Coco’s scheming. I love getting this background on all these characters, especially Devyn so we can see her journey progress. On to read Black Pearl!

This is a short and sweet introduction into Devyn, Nikola, and Mercedes (BFF) relationships, and how Devyn got into burlesque dancing. This prequel is just enough to pique your interest into reading Book 1 about Black Pearl. I can’t wait to read book 1 about Devyn and Nikola’s adventure.

This was a nice story. It allowed you to see how Black Pearl came to be and how Devyn and Nikola got together. It also gave you a look into there iris Collins and her friendship with Mistress Coco.. great job Tiffany Patterson.
