As Garnet, professional volleyball player Aspen Davis was hunted on an island in the South Pacific by depraved men who paid millions for the privilege. While her athleticism initially gave her an edge, it turned into a hindrance when her tormentors saw her as a challenge. Scarred and mentally exhausted, she’s blocked out a lot of the memories. Now she’s disappeared again. Ex-Navy SEAL Buck Moreno is haunted every day by his past. He’s had no choice but to learn to keep his emotions at bay, so when he’s hired to find and protect Aspen Davis, he treats it like any other job. Or he tries to, anyway. Aspen is beautiful and strong and brave, and Buck finds himself feeling more than he should—more than he ever thought he’d feel again. Despite both their pasts, the two find solace in each other…until Aspen begins to remember. The more she recalls, the more she wants revenge against those who wronged her. Buck vows to protect her at all costs…even if he must protect her from herself.
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
This book! Oh my goodness! I don’t even know where to begin! The things done to Garnet on the island are so horrific that while your reading about it you physically gasp and feel pain for this character and really anyone who has or could go through something like this and come out on the other side of it!! Buck has been to war, and has seen his fair share of abuse, destruction and death! He has the scars to prove it too. On paper these two seem to not make any sense because of what they’ve endured — but it’s exactly what brings them together. The knowledge that they’ve both endured and come out on the other side. They may be damaged, but together they’re perfect! The beautiful love story that comes out of all this devastation is absolutely breathtaking! The fact that the author can make you feel so many conflicting emotions throughout this book is a testament to the caliber of writer she is!! By far the best book of this series so far and a definite must read for anyone who believes you can rise above this kind of devastation! A solid 5 star read and if I could I’d give it 10!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Garnet is Book 3 of the Gems of Wolfe Island and has taken the Top spot in my heart of this series so far.

Helen is a true Master at her craft she brings us into her world throws us right into all of the action. You get the emotions you feel for her characters, it's like you are one with the books that she writes. Garnet is extraordinary, suspenseful and addictive. You see and feel the determination that Aspen has to take back the control that she lost.
Soooo good. I can't wait to see what happens next. This series is a world wind of emotions and intensity. I can not get enough. I highly recommend this story and series to others. Cant wait for Buck.
Another riveting story from Helen. The characters are great to read and it keeps you clues to the pages. The twist and turns keep you interested throughout the book.?
Buck Moreno, working as freelance security for the Wolfe family, is needed again. He needs to find Aspen. Make sure she is safe.
Aspen Davis, known only as Garnet on the island, was a professional volleyball player. Her athleticism was her saving grace, for she was hunted by the worse of the degenerates that visited the island. Now she is missing again. Or so it is thought. She only wants to go home. She has someone she needs to see.
As Buck and Aspen continue their journey to Colorado, where Aspen was headed, when she had a breakthrough.
Now she wants, needs to know who made it happen, that she ended up on that island in the first place.
While spending so much time together, Buck and Aspen have grown closer together, as their journey takes them from Colorado to LA California. There, Aspen gets to spend some time with Katelyn, another girl that was on the island with her, and Buck had to make nice with Luke, aka Lucifer Raven, who abused his sister, but is now a changed man. Do leopards really change their spots?
Aspen and Buck learn a lot of information while in California, so much happens, but there is still so much she needs to find out.
As always, Helen Hardt leaves you with a cliffhanger that makes you absolutely breathless and needing the next installment as soon as yesterday, lol.
This was an extremely excellent book. I immensely enjoyed reading it.
I rate it with 5 stars and recommend it to all that have previously read the other books in this series, starting with Moonstone: Gems of Wolfe Island book 1
There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page or just closing the book...
Aspen was at the top of her game as a professional volleyball player. She could not imagine in her wildest nightmares that she would be kidnapped and taken to an Island to be hunted. Nefarious men paid vast sums of money to chase down and capture only to inflict horrendous acts on her. After escaping the horrors of the Island, she has disappeared again to find out who was responsible for her capture and disappearance.
Buck, an Ex-NavySEAL was employed to find her and make sure she comes to no harm. Buck and Aspen have something in common, they both harbor emotional and physical scars. On the path to seek information, Buck and Aspen grow closer to each other. Buck can understand her need for revenge, but feels it may consume her. Aspen is at the crossroads of whether or not she should just let it go and leave it in the past. I anticipate that we will find more answers in the next book.

Garnet, whose real name is Aspen, is one of the kidnapped, hunted, raped, and tortured women on Wolfe Island. But unlike Katelyn, who spent ten years of her life there, Aspen was only there for five. But her time there was different from Katelyn's. She was hunted nearly every day, because she was an athlete, a volleyball player on a women's professional team, she was considered a worthy apponant. When she finally starts to remember things that happened to her, she decides that knowing how she ended up on the island, and why, were very important to her. Luckily, she has the help of an ex-Navy Seal, named Buck, who works for the Wolfe family. I can hardly wait to read the next installment of the "Gems of Wolfe Island".... entitled, "Buck", which comes out in July!
Buck is a contractor that works for the Wolfe family. Aspen (Garnet) used to be on Wolfe Island because of the Wolfe’s father. The Wolfe siblings got her off the island and gave all the girls that were there a place to stay. She goes missing, but not really. She just wants to see Colorado which is her home, but she doesn’t tell anyone. Buck is hired to find her which he does. He takes her to Colorado. These are two people that have been through trauma, not the same type, but still trauma. Two traumatized people are brought together and drawn to each other. Aspen must find out who is responsible for her being on that island in the first place. Now it’s time for revenge. It’s action filled and off the charts steamy. Their story will continue in the next book, Buck.
Omg had me right from the beginning. And wow Aspen what an amazing strength and determination takes off to go home to see her parents and Ex Fiancé .And in doing so she meets Buck Moreno and there’s a slow spark which grows very quickly and there both unaware till things start to happen .Aspen realises she needs answers to how she was taken and who did this to her and events start to happen and when she finds her first connection to her old team mate and they mysteriously die that Aspen realises there’s someone is trying to prevent Aspen from finding out who they are it’s about to take all of Aspen and Buck and friends and family to find the truth .I got to the last page and went no can’t end there can’t wait for the next Book Helen Hardt

I enjoyed his book and love the links from other book however several times i had to put the book down due to repetitive lines such was putting me off I love Helen's books but when it's constant repeated lines it feels like they are there to fill the pages and there's no need I've read every one of Helen's books and love her stories as they really encapsulates you.
This book was amazing. I absolutely couldn't put it down. I can't wait until the next book to see where this story will end for Garnet. These poor women have been through the gutter and this story had me sitting on the edge of my seat.
What an amazing book this was and a writer Helen is.
Garnet or Aspen returns to Colorado to see her parents and fiancé. Back is her security guard who tracks her down and stays with her while she accomplishes her deeds. During this time she realizes she needs to find out who set her up and who betrayed her. Lots of excitement, intrigue and action
These women suffered at the hands of some awful men; some of the women did not survive their ordeals. Aspen, a.k.a Garnet, was a warrior. She was held five years before being rescued. The fact that she meets Buck from the previous book, is a very interesting twist. Of course this book ends with a cliffhanger and the next book is four weeks away. );
Helen you absolutely amaze me! She knows how to get me intrigued from the start. I couldn’t put the book down. I love seeing happy endings for these ladies. I can’t wait to read the next one!
Helen Hardt is the queen of cliff hangers! Time and time again Helen raw talent for writing amazing story lines never ceases to amaze me. I can't wait for July to see how Buck and Aspen's story end.....
This book was a page turner. I read it in one day cause I could not put it down, really like the suspense that keeps building. And who done it is like the big question. Great characters and a great read, well written and that's why I gave it 5 stars.
I’m loving trying to solve all the mysteries. I really am liking Buck and learning more about his life. I loved that all their scars made them more attracted to each other. I can’t wait to read the next book.
