This story was intense and I LOVED it! Very angsty and had me constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. There was just enough unpredictability in Raven's thoughts and feelings that I was never quite sure. Dark and fabulous!

These Enigma Society books!! They're all great! I loved the concept of this one. I don't want to say too much because it will spoil some of the twists. These books are not romance, so don't go into thinking everything is sunshine and rainbows at the end. This one sorta had an hea, if you want to call it that. Can't wait for the next one!!
This had potential obviously if it was a Poe retelling but it fell flat unfortunately. The author was able to successfully make the LMC vile and irredeemable. That was part of the problem. The author did such a good job of conveying how abusive and evil he was which became a problem at the end of the story. There was no way in this world you could have convinced me he was redeemable in the end. He showed the barest glimpses of remorse in only a couple of scenes. Then the idea that the h would forgive him because he took care of her in her past lives?!!!! She must have drank the Kool aide. That is the only explanation. In every single past lives, he tortured her and made her life miserable. I call utter bull shit. Such a shame to take a legendary author like Poe and do this to his work.
