Roc & Heather

A dark, secret past that even his team doesn't know about. Besides that, falling for the sister of one of his team, a much younger woman, doesn't make it easy. He tries to hide his feelings but it is getting harder to accomplish. Her safety is most important.

She loves her brother. But her feelings for Roc are strong as well. If only he'd give them a chance and not let her sibling's feelings keep them apart. Everyone can tell why won't he ignore her brother or is it more?

Roc is beginning to break when an old enemy--who was supposed to be an ally brings them a huge case. His secrets are about to come to light. Even the ones he's kept from his teammates.

An amazing intrigue with action, steam, romance, friends, enemies, traitors, and much more. This one can stand alone although the entire series is amazing and well worth the read.

Roc is the fifth book in the baby shift series. Although it is a standalone I highly recommend reader Hunter first. It’s not necessary to enjoy this story but it rounds out the prior events that originally brought Roc and Heather together - or at least almost together. We’ve met Roc inn previous books. He’s always been the broody, mysterious one. And oh boy is his story/background interesting. I live that Mandy Harbin is still able to surprise me with twists and turns throughout. I loved getting to know Roc better, learning his thoughts/feelings and past was so much fun. This series continues to be excellent and the epilogue with the teaser to Gauge’s story leaves you wanting to dive immediately into his story.

**** 4 Rocked Stars****

This is my first read in the series and first read by the author and I will definitely will go back and read more. This is Roc and Heather’s story and it’s my favorite kind brother older friend and coworker. Roc has kept his feeling under wrap since saving Heather when she was kidnapped and tries to keep his distance but that doesn’t work anymore once she start’s helping at the garage keeping his distance becomes a problem. Roc has dark secrets from his past that his team doesn’t even know about. Heather is done playing Roc’s game so she starts to date. Things come to light and put’s Heather in danger again and Roc can’t hold back anymore. So good.

Another great book in this thrilling and action-packed series, this time it’s Roc’s turn. Heather has been the only woman for Roc ever since he rescued her after her abduction, but because of his past and background and also working close with her brother he hasn’t allowed himself or Heather to come close. After some of Roc’s secrets have come to light he risks losing Heather altogether and when she is abducted again he lays his life on the line in order to safe her. Roc has always been a difficult character within the Bang Shift team it was great to find out about his past and his motives and he totally is my absolute favourite of the guys, the story is fast-paced, entertaining, suspenseful and a gripping read till the end.

A different take on the brother/teammates sister trope, in as much as the teammates can’t stand each other.
Roc and Heather met in a previous book (which I hadn’t read) and sparks flew. He’s taken a giant step back though and refuses to admit or acknowledge his feelings, except for winding up her brother who is his teammate because they hate each other

Heather has struggled with this and is convinced by her friends to try dating someone else to get over Roc, not knowing she’s inadvertently putting herself in danger.

This is a well written book with a great, but complex storyline, one that I feel spans the series rather than the book so you won’t get a satisfying bow tied in a knot here at all with anything except the romance element.

I enjoyed this book, and feel like I will go back and ready the previous stories, mainly because I feel a good 50/60% of this book will make so much more sense then.

There was a lot of referring back to previous events, lots of mentioning things that happened which shaped how the characters interacted and also lots of setting up what will happen in future books, which made this story much more about the final piece of the jigsaw with Heather and Roc when so much had been revealed in prior books.

Definitely one to be read in series order, and an enjoyable read once you get to it!

I've always enjoyed the Bang Shift series and the newest addition does not disappoint!

Heather has been entranced by Roc for some time, but especially since he was the one who saved her when she was kidnapped. She may still be in college but she knows what she wants. Roc and the nearest available bed thank you very much!

Roc has felt the pull to Heather just as badly. But with his history a secret from the entire team, he knows he is the wrong man to keep Heather happy. With him she'd never be safe. So he is keeping his hands (and other appendages) to himself. But when Heather takes on the task of organising the office, all that enforced time in close proximity is fraying all those good intentions.

I'm loving all the tension in the team! Usually, team-mates are happy when their sister takes on a team member but that ain't happening here lol! There are full-on face-offs and punches at dawn. Not a good atmosphere when they have easy access to guns! I did enjoy learning more about the tortured and enigmatic Roc. He really is conflicted about both his history and his current mission. He was keeping BIG secrets!

Cartels, revenge, FBI/Marshall interference - what an explosive mix! You really need to have read the books in order to get the best out of them. Although they can be read on their own, the story and plotlines do flow from one book to the next.

I really hope Teddy is next in line for his HEA?!?!?!

This is the 1st book I have read from this author and I will definitely be going back and reading the other 5 books in this series. I don’t feel like I missed out on too much from not reading the other stories, as I feel like the author did a great job of filling in the blanks on some of the things going on and how characters ended up where they were. This is the story of Roc and Heather. Roc has a lot of secrets that no one knows about until a case is brought to them and he is specifically requested to be on it. Heather is the sister of Hunter and now works at the garage during the summer. Roc and Heather have an attraction/connection to each other since Roc rescued her from the kidnappers. Roc however is afraid to progress in this relationship not only because this is his teammate’s sister, but also because he has so many secrets that could hurt those he cares about.

This story has it all – drama, action, cartels, FBI, Secret Agencies, revenge, deception, tension, chemistry, loyalty, understanding and forgiveness. I cannot wait for the next book to come out and I am going to get the other 5 books so I can be caught up before it comes out. Great story, great characters and it definitely pulls you in from the beginning. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Booksprout ARC’s for an honest review.

This is book six in The Bang Shift series and it is Roc and Heather's story and omg what a story it is. Heather has feelings for Roc but he doesn't acknowledge her as anything but the sister of someone that he works with and also there age difference and it is so annoying so she decides to try and move on and see if it helps her get over him but things don't always go as planned. Roc has feelings for Heather but he will not do anything about it as he has a past life that people don't know about that could put her in danger and he is also not good enough for her so he tries hard to keep his distance to protect her. Omg there are many twists and turns that you don't see coming as you read this story and I couldn't put this book down also there are danger, secrets, kidnapping, hope, love and a second chance and that it what makes this book so addictive. This is the first book that I have read by Mandy Harbin but definitely not the last as she keeps her reader's attention and on there goes with all the action. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will definitely not be and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

4*. Heather just finished her last semester class. With summer in the air, she looking for a few days off. Her brother, Hunter is a mechanic, and asks his sister to work at the shop answering phones, filing, appointments, etc. The only problem....Roc. Heather and Roc have been flirting, tiptoeing, and staring at each other non-stop. Roc does not think he is good enough for her. He also has a complicated, dangerous past. Heather just wants him to man up, and there is the fact of her overprotective, controlling brother.
But the shop and the mechanics in it, all have a different function. Yes, they work on vehicles, but they also help the government in some way. Each member adds a different set of skills, and contacts to help get the job done.
When there is a threat made, nothing will stop this team from keeping those they love safe.

I loved Heather and Roc's characters. There was a calmness to Heather that balanced out Roc's temper. Roc was a silent force when it came to Heather's well-being. I recommend this book.

I liked the fast paced action and mystery behind Roc and his family ties.
This was more than a simple forbidden older man/ younger woman romance with Heather being the kid sister of Roc’s team member.
The constant pull back play that Roc used again and again got old quickly and I really couldn’t blame Heather for not trusting him after his secrets were slowly, and I mean slowly, revealed to her.
The build up and passion were written well, but the momentum of their romance was interrupted constantly.
I liked the way Heather was accepting of her love for Roc but was also strong enough to go on with her life.
I thought Roc was a bit too late in going all in with Heather which led to more drama at the end.
Lots of action and suspense with secrets, twists and turns in this Cartel based romance!

Mandy Harbin’s “Roc,” the sixth book in her Bang Shift series, is the story of sexy mercenary Rocco and sweet college student Heather as they find their way to each other despite dealing with organized crime, a mysterious Mr. Right Now, an overprotective big brother, and a plethora of alphabet agencies. I would definitely recommend reading the earlier books in the series as there are numerous references to the history of the characters, and it can be a bit difficult to keep up without any background knowledge. Roc is larger than life with a heart to match and try as he might to stay away from the feisty, much younger Heather, their connection is electric and all-consuming. The motley crew of Bang Shift and their significant others add humor, sass, and a whole lot of alpha hotness to the mix and leaves the door open for a potential additional story in their saga.

This is the sixth book in this amazing series and is Roc and Heather’s story. Roc has a complex past and is hiding many secrets, and Heather is the younger sister of one of his teammates. When Roc rescues Heather on the night she is kidnapped, there is intense connection between them and the sparks fly, but as Roc and her brother hate each other, Roc steps back. The chemistry between Roc and Heather is combustible and undeniable, but will his secrets put her in danger? This is a well written story which is fact paced and action packed, with deceit, secrets, conflict, intrigue, tension, danger, suspense, revenge, drama, mystery, loyalty, family, friendships, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

But when Heather gets tired of his excuses and waiting for him to make his move, she finds someone else showing interest, which puts her in a position to be abducted again. This time Roc will do whatever it takes to save her, no matter how extreme.

This story is very fast-paced, exciting, and suspenseful. The characters are strong and resourceful. Will Roc save Heather? Will he have to reveal his secret past to do so?

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were intriguing. What an absolutely amazing story, intrigued by Rocco's past. Amazed by how the team work together as mercenaries, Hunter is a mechanic and gets his sister Heather to work with them in the office. While Heather has been cleaning up the office her and Rocco keep staring at each other but Rocco keeps a long distance away and she is the younger sister of his team mate. Heather goes on a date with a rich guy, now the team has to get together and save her. Will Heather have the guy of her dreams, can Rocco will his past come into the game or not.

Wow! Action packed and fast paced - this book will grab your attention and not let you go until the end! Roc is in denial of his feelings for Heather - well he knows what he feels but refuses to act on them because of his past. Heather is one of his Bang Shift team mate's sister but after he rescued her, he knew she was his. Heather has feelings for him too but takes her friends' advice and looks else where for love which puts her in danger. There are so many twists and turns, secrets and best of all, the love. It was intense but I sure did enjoy the ride!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Heather and Roc have been attracted to each other for a while. It started when she was saved from kidnapping. For as much as Heather wants to be close, he pushes her away. They have things going against them between his past and her brother. When she gets the chance to move on, she tries to. This lands her in a mess that Roc will do anything to save her from. I have not read the whole series, yet I do not feel lost. I have enjoyed each story that I have read in the series

Roc knew Heather was his the moment he rescued her, but he put up every road block in her way to get close to him, yes she's his team mates younger sister although he doesnt get along with them the principle applies. But when Heather gives up and decides to pursue another who shows interest in her, Roc faces losing her for good if he doesn't open up and accept his dangerous past. This is well written with an intriguing story line that has you hooked! there are many twists and turns, surprises and more!

This is book six of six in the The Bang Shift by Mandy Harbin. This can be read as a stand-alone, but to get the most enjoyment out of this series, I would recommend reading them in order. I must say this book has it all...mafia, cartel, and mercenaries. What is there not to love? I cannot wait to read more of her books!

This one will keep a reader hopping. Roc is one whom you wanna see get his arrow. He as a mercenary can not have any weaknesses but I think love makes you stronger. Heather needed saving so there it goes but a fight against it he will. Kidnapping will put you on guard. Anyways as this unfolds the pages will turn as you look to see who is left standing.

Wow. This book was intense. It kept you on your toes. I couldn't put book down once started.

I loved Roc and Heather together, Roc fought his feelings for Heather because of who her brother is. They always had an attraction to each other. But when push comes to shove they can't fight it.
