REESE
My new neighbor does not like my dog. If you don’t like Boomer, then you don’t like me. End of story.
I guess that’s not much of a deterrent for Anderson, though. He’s all bark and never misses an opportunity to complain. About everything. Sometimes it’s Boomer. Sometimes it’s my music. Sometimes it’s my alarm clock. How does he even hear it? Is it my fault I need something akin to an air raid siren so I can wake up in the morning?
It would be a lot easier if Anderson wasn’t the sexiest man I’ve ever met and didn’t make me feel things I never have before. It doesn’t matter because nothing can happen between us. Whoever becomes a dog dad to my Boomer needs to love him as much as I do.
That’s not Anderson. He’s a grump who only cares about himself. He would make the worst dog dad there ever was and he definitely doesn’t want me. Until he proves me wrong.

ANDERSON
Moving into a new place should have been a fresh start for me, but it’s turned into a nightmare. I can’t get any work done because the dog next door won’t stop barking. Books don’t write themselves and my publisher is starting to breathe down my neck.
Reese doesn’t seem to care at all that her dog is at fault for my writer’s block and my annoyance. I don’t think she even listens when I complain, and it doesn’t seem to change anything either. My ex was selfish and lacked all self-awareness and it’s why we aren’t together anymore. Now I’m living next door to another woman who is exactly the same; just my luck.
If only I could ignore how much I want to pull Reese against me while letting all my aggravations fall to the floor. Reese’s beauty and the way her body calls to me like a siren’s song can’t be denied. I have to resist her because no good come from giving into the feelings I have for her.
She’s flippant and only cares about herself. Until I find out I’m wrong and just how important Boomer is to her. Now that I can see her for who she is, she better watch out. I’m coming for her, and I’ll make her mine.

*18+ If you like alpha heroes and an insta-love story that is sweet and spicy but isn’t necessarily simple, then this is for you. No cheating with a guaranteed HEA. It is a standalone but is related to my Denver Family series (Banks Ink., Suburban Outcasts and Higgins Security). Anderson vs Reese . . .

It all comes down to consideration for others. For most people, it’s easy to love dogs, especially once you get to know them. They love freely and make no judgments. BUT, an owner who allows her dog to bark incessantly, whether a writer who needs to concentrate lives next door or not, barking dogs can get on one’s last nerve. However, the “victim” of the noise needs to communicate that the dog barks and whines when left alone all day. Perhaps there is a solution in there somewhere once the problem is identified.

But Reese seems to shrug off the possibility that any of her irritating habits should bother anyone. Living in an apartment can easily irritate because the walls may not be sound-resistant, so hearing that “air raid siren” level alarm clock can most definitely be annoying, especially if the neighbors are not on the same schedule. Playing music really loud is also inconsiderate, especially depending on the type of music. When the walls vibrate, it’s too loud. These are over-generalizations, but the bottom line is people need to be considerate to each other in a give-and-take manner. And even more important, talk to each other about issues so you don’t make matters worse by not understanding why the guy next door is a chronic grouch. Very likely, it’s fixable when both parties put a little effort into being good neighbors. Anderson can get up and go for a walk when his stress goes over the top to the boiling point. Or relocate to a more quiet area of the apartment to write, or even a trip to the library to write. The relationship is a separate issue that will work itself out. But being a good neighbor is the best part of the story for me. Both of the characters need to stop being so rigid and imposing their likes/dislikes on someone else. Communicate, compromise, and get along. Life’s too short to be miserable.

This is an example of a “too much for too long” annoying character. The one thing that can make or break a book for me is how I react to those main characters. If a main character is annoying or unlikable from the start, and remains unlikable for a rather long period of time, as these two did, by the time they redeem themselves, it no longer matters to me and I still will dislike them for their annoying behavior from the start.

Really fun story. I was a little concerned with the first few pages but then laughed with all of the dog references. I loved how Anderson pulled himself together and Reece was so giving and loving. A terrific story.

It’s interesting that love at first sight has become instalove. The term seems to have lost romance in comparison. .

In the book, Anderson sees Reese and immediately knows she’s the girl for him as he’s moving into the apartment next door. He’s jaded from a prior relationship and has a projection problem…he projects his prior girl’s issues onto Reese. So, everything Reese does is colored by it. He complains to her constantly about everything she does that he can hear through the walls of her apartment, but especially her dog, Boomer.

Reese fell for Anderson at first sight also. His constant complaining and negativity is depressing her. Eventually, Reese decides to try something different in their contentious relationship in the hope it will make things better.

Reese mentions she has friends, but they aren’t really a part of this book. Anderson’s publisher calls a couple of times, but only a brief call is described in the book. The story is basically just Anderson, Reese, and the dog. The world they inhabit appears to have been developed in several other series written by the author, but there are not enough details here to provide a hook to any other characters in other books.

As an instalove store, it was enjoyable.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

Anderson meets Reese when he moves in next-door to her. Anderson is an author and is struggling to finish a book. Reese works in a café, has a dog named Boomer, and when her alarm goes off in the morning he can hear it next-door. Anderson gets frustrated and knocks on recess door complaining about her dog barking all day her music being played, and her a loud alarm clock in the morning. He comes off as grumpy, who doesn’t like dogs. He complains to the manager of the apartment building. Reese has boomer to keep her company as all her family have passed. When Anderson knocks to complain again, Reese tells him to come for a walk with her and Boomer. He sees Reese a different way on the walk she makes him smile. He tells her Boomer barks all day and he has a solution. He’ll watch Boomer while she’s at work. Boomer is happy with Anderson and a week passes, Anderson realizes he would like something more with Reese. He invites her in and tells her he would like to start a relationship with her. They kiss and make out, Reese isnt sure if she can trust him everyone has left her in her life. A few months pass and they are happy together. Anderson shows up with flowers at her work and tells her he’s taking her on a date. They move in together and then he proposes she says yes.

These bitches fell in love in 2 weeks. And don't get me wrong, maybe love at first sight exists BUT this man was a dick to her when they first met and continued to internally antagonise her until they had that confrontation. WHICH WASN'T MUCH OF A CONFRONTATION CONSIDERING THEY JUST TOOK A WALK. But the fucking whiplash I would get if I was Reese. One second, this man hates me AND MY FUCKING DOG and the next week we're fucking, AND THEY BASICALLY DIDN'T TALK BEFORE THIS. THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THAT ENEMIES BANTER. He really went, wow I hate his selfish bitch and her dog too, like some scooby doo villain, to omg I want this girl to be my forever. Also, some of the shit Anderson said made me cringe, mostly because of how fast he said it. Like mid-fuck I would need to have a conversation about the drugs that he went on or if he has some weird twin that replaced him. Can you know you want to marry someone after 2 weeks? ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU STARTED OFF HATING THEM?? I don't know and honestly I don't care. The book was pretty bad, but not the worst thing I've read and reviewed but damn I was mainly just laughing at how absurd everything seemed to me.

But to be fair I've never been in love with someone so who fucking knows.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Boomer is a little dog that brings two lonely people together. This was a funny and sweet story with plenty of steam also. Anderson doesn't start off well with Reese. They get off to a ruff start. They still feel an underlying attraction though. She tries to fix the issues but she can't control Boomer while she works. When they finally get the chance to actually talk, it brings out who they really are. Things take off from there. I enjoyed this story and the tie in to SO and the family. I wish it was longer, with some more details of their daily lives once they get together. I wanted to have more of Reese's background in this book. It does kick off a new series that sound like it will be filled with short, sweet and steamy romances. Each with a furry family member. This one has a sweet ending that makes you wish you had your own Anderson.

This was a cute story.
Both Anderson and Reese both have 'misunderstanding' where the other one is concerned.
Although I wouldn't say Reese's idea of who Anderson is isn't a misunderstanding only because he came off as a grump who seems to hate her dog from the beginning.
Anderson has been burned by women before. So when he meets Reese he doesn't exactly set the best first impression. But when frustration at his writer's block continues, he unfortunately takes some of that frustration out on Reese and Boomer.
But all is not as it seems and I have to say I was glad that Anderson finally stopped to take off the blinders and see Reese in a new light. Reese, oh that girl. I loved her. All she wants is love and a family. Things that were taken from her when her parents died at a young age and her grandparents later died.

Ember Davis kicks off the brand new Love at First Bark multi-author series with All Bark, No Bite, a delectable enemies-to-lovers romance. Author Anderson is suffering a horrible case of writer's block, and the incessant barking from the dog, Boomer, next door is not helping. Anderson has a slew of other complaints about the noise from his next-door-neighbour's apartment - her early air-horn type alarm, her music. Café manager Reese has a huge crush on her grumpy neighbour, but any man who has anything against Boomer isn't for her. But when Anderson finally opens his eyes and allows himself to get to really see Reese, everything changes.

An entertaining, swoon-worthy and steamy read - with a dog you will absolutely fall in love with - All Bark, No Bite is the perfect kick off to this brand new series!

Reese does not know what to do about her new neighbor, he is always grumpy and complaining about Boomer, her dog. It is not just her dog, it is also her alarm clocks, as she is not a morning person. What she does not know is Anderson is a writer and is suffering from writers block which it making him more surly than usual.

When Anderson goes to talk to her one day, he can see in her eyes she is just waiting for him to complain and makes him take a beat. Maybe they can find a compromise that suits them both.

Now Anderson has a companion during the day that does not bark incessantly, and has wicked thoughts about his owner. The more the two get to know each other, the more the chemistry ramps up.

Reese is Anderson's next door neighbor and she is driving him crazy. Her alarm wakes him up, its so loud. She plays her music at a distracting volume and her dog barks all day while she is gone. He can't concentrate on his writing with his deadline looming over him like a sword and all the noise. So he isn't the nicest to her. Which is a shame because she thinks he is so handsome. Can he pull his head out of the sand its buried in and see what's right in front of him? Another sweet, quick read from this lovely author. She still manages to pack an emotional punch in her work no matter the style or length. I loved how this all came together, how Anderson finally found his way to Reese, 5 stars.

All Bark, No Bite will have you melting on the spot. This heated enemy to lovers story is a pulls you in from the start and keeps you with each page.

Anderson is a author who has a bit of writer's block and his new neighbor is not helping, with the load alarm in the morning and a dog that seems to know when he had an idea.

Reece understands her neighbor's complaints and is doing her best to correct them, but when nothing works maybe a face to face wouldn't hurt.

This is a heat and steamy romance that will have you melting as Anderson and Reece work out their differences and find a peace that will lead to more.

Ember Davis has quickly became 1 of my top 5 favorite authors since I first started reading her books around 6mths ago. Ive yet to read something of hers that i didn't like, and this book waa no exception! Such a sweet grump/sunshine romance. It took the MMC a few to come around and get his head outta his you know what, but once he did it was so sweet and endearing. Not letting your past ruin your future is such a good leason and message. Just because 1 woman/man was one way doesn't mean they all are and all you end up doing is self sabotaging yourself. Totally recommend this, read it and find out for yourself what an amazing writer Ember is!.

When Anderson moved in next door to Reese he became the grumpy neighbor who complained about her dog Boomer and her alarm clock. Little did she know he was on a deadline writing his book. When they finally actually talk about what's upsetting him and why they come up with a solution and sparks are ignited and I found myself cheering them on to get their happily ever after. All Bark, No Bite is book one in the multi-author Love At First Bark series and I look forward to reading the rest of this series. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed, and the ending is perfect. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Another great story by Ember Davis and continued characters from Banks Inc and SO. I love how she always intertwines the characters to keep the story going. This story has great characters, a realistic plot and is a quick read. Reese and Anderson meet and neighbors but don’t have the best relationship but then they realize they both made assumptions about the other. A great read. Excited for more in the series.

This was a fantastic grumpy/ sunshine romance. I just loved this story and read it in no time because I couldn’t put it down. In the beginning I was really wondering how the conflicts between Anderson and Reese could be resolved and then here comes the most brilliant and simple solution, communication. The chemistry between the two was amazing and that made for great steamy bits. It was just such a great story.

Anderson is upset with his beautiful neighbor Reese whose dog barks all day while he’s trying to write his book! Only he can’t help, but fall for her! Reese is trying to not upset her new gorgeous neighbor Anderson, but he complains about everything! She just wishes she wasn’t in love with him! When Anderson realizes his mistake he will do whatever it takes to make her his! Can they find their happily ever after? Great book that I would highly recommend!.

I really loved this sunshine and grumpy love story..... Throw a sweet dog into it and I'm a goner 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Anderson is a grumpy author that is being disturbed by his neighbor and her dog. But after a short amount of time he realizes that she isn't the airhead he thought she were and sparks fly. Reese seems aloof but has a sweet and gentle soul. She falls head over heels with the grumpy neighbor 🥰🥰 Instalove, grumpy/sunshine lovestory, sweet, romantic, steamy and safe with a sweet HEA and absolutely no drama😍😍😍😍😍

Anderson was a writer struggling to write. He moved to gain inspiration but was frustrated by his neighbours dog. Reese was trying so hard to appease her grumpy neighbour but nothing seemed to help! I couldn’t put this book down. It was such a fun read with amazing chemistry, true love between two soulmates and a simmering conflict that had a simple solution, communication and honesty. Once they had that there was no stopping the love and romance between them. The HEA was amazing.

I've read several books written by Ember Davis; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is part of the Love at First Bark Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Reese & Anderson; he’s her new neighbor but doesn’t like her dog which to her means he doesn’t like her either; he’s a writer and can’t get any work done because of the dog always barking.

Reese is the worst neighbor in the world... A loud alarm clock, louder music, and a dog who barks and whines all day while she's at work. Anderson, a writer trying to meet a deadline, is her very annoyed neighbor. I really like that this book is low drama, and loved seeing Reese and Anderson resolve their issues like adults, through honest conversation. This is my first read from the author. It's a quite enjoyable book, and fits in well with the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Anderson has had a rough go of it lately and unfortunately he’s taking it out his neighbour Reese. It take a dog walk in the park to realize that the problem isn’t her, it’s him. Once Anderson realizes he sets out to show Reese he’s not really a grump. Another fast paced cute read in this series. Reese is all sunshine and happiness, at least on the outside and Anderson starts out being a grump with lots of bark but really he’s a softy for Reese and her dog Boomer. What a sweet cute story!!! Anderson makes assumptions about Resse before he even knows her. He’s nothing but a jerk till he sees her for who she is. Resse is lonely and adopts her dog boomer. Resse tries really hard to fix all Anderson’s complaints. One afternoon something changes in Anderson and he finally realizes what a jerk he’s been!!.

I love reading Ember Davis’ books as they’re all beautiful, fun stories. This book was quaint with it’s dog references but it was a fun read and I loved Reese and Anderson. Although they got off to a shaky start the attraction was instant and neither was able to resist. If you want a feel good book then you must read Ms Davis’ books as they will all warm your heart and put a smile on your face.

Don't use past experiences to judge your present!

As always Ember does a spectacular job giving us an instalove story with a plot and substance in a novella length style.

Reese and Anderson are a cute couple and I'm glad once Anderson finally talked to Reese he was able to figure out that looks can be deceiving and you shouldn't assume especially based on past experiences!

Loved this cute HEA.

This was a super cute short read. Anderson is an author who has a major case of writer's block. Reese lives next door to him with her dog and frequently hears how she and her dog are distracting Anderson.

It was cute how they finally came together, and I love that Reese had a ton of depth to her. This is a super quick read with loose ties to the Denver Family, but I enjoyed it.

A cute romance read.

A cute romance read. Anderson is a writer who hasn’t had a luck with all the barking his neighbor dog does. Reese is the owner of said dog but is trying everything to solve the problem. When he makes a suggestion it sets them on an unexpected delightful course. This was a sweet, feel good romance read with great characters and an easy to read storyline that doesn’t disappoint.

HEA
Standalone, interconnected characters from multiple other series by same author

*over 18 readers only *

Anderson is trying to write his next book. His neighbor has been making enough noise to wake the dead, breaking his concentration and prolonging his writer's block. Her dog barks all day, and she blasts music when she gets home. When he stops complaining long enough to actually get to know her, will he find his forever?
