Rate this book
Nightmares become reality when I end up back in Kensington.

But this time is different, I won’t break from their lies and abuse now that I have my eight mates to fight for.

Plus, this time I know the truth. Supernaturals are real. And I am one. But there’s even more danger than I could have anticipated waiting for me within Kensington’s walls. I’m not safe, and the future they have planned for me is terrifying.

After an unexpected rescue, I’m suddenly back home with my mates. Instead of a happy reunion, I’m forced to reveal all of the terrible things I learned while on the inside, not to mention working past the trauma that dug deeper than I anticipated.

Unwilling to let me go that easily, my uncle and his allies strike back, determined to control me. But little do they know I don’t just have my mates on my side, I have Mystic Harbor, all of them ready and willing to defend me against the evil I’ve been haunted by for years

Will my newfound home and mates be enough to end this nightmare, or will our new life end before it really begins?

Mystic Harbor is a PNR omegaverse world featuring relatable characters, a crazy supernatural town, and lots of steam. This reverse harem series will include poly relationships.

I don’t know how to feel about this book?

Rushed. Rushed is how this book feels. As I completed it I assumed it would be setting up for book 3 but it seems this is kind of it. The conclusion was lack luster and kind of a let down and it’s like ok the fighting is done and let’s just skip to a conclusion. I’m so disappointed after being so hyped for this book. I do love the characters and Ella but really wish they would have developed their relationships more and not rushed through everything.

It was…. meh. I knew from the first book that Ella had way too many mates. Too many characters. The books are not long enough for us to learn about everyone, or even for Ella to spend time with everyone!
The ending feels rushed, we don’t even know what happens. What about Leif/Drystan/Cedric ? What about her mom ? The island also sort of came out of nowhere and seemed like an easy trick to end the battle…. Also, the fact that we don’t have an epilogue and the story ends that way feels like it’s not finished, even though the authors said Ella’s story stops with this book.

I’m disappointed honeslty..

Nope. No difference here.
I really did enjoy this duet.
I liked the sex. Super hot.
I loved the characters.
They were all so different and fun.
The banter and bits of humor thrown in with the seriousness was perfect.
Plus the playfulness here and there throughout. Loved it.

My biggest gripe is that we don’t get equal time spent with every guy in the group.
It’s like there were a few separate packs that sort of wanted to fuse together but missed the mark a bit.
Most of our time and relationship development is spent on Tanniv and Asra.
We don’t get hardly any time with Reed, the other omega. And then there’s Maddox, Hunter, Spencer, we hardly get any time with them, and we learn very little about them.
Then Drystan and Lief. We get more time with those two, but then all they develop something and it just felt like the author was throwing things in last minute.
The plot came to a decent conclusion.
The sex was plentiful and sexy.
But the relationships were just so lacking in most places.
I feel like the author maybe got in over her head with so many men in the group, each of them with their own relationships between them, some of them pre mate mark.

It was just underwhelming and I felt like we didn’t have enough time to actually have everything sorted out and going smoothly with all the interconnections going on.

And it didn’t help at All that the ending was so abrupt.
🤷🏻‍♀️Nothing felt finished.

Masked by chaos is book two of Ella’s story and it picks up right where power of fate left off (review for POF can be found on my goodreads - link in bio).

This book immediately hooked me. Ella find herself back in a situation she was trying to escape from , she’s been separated from her mates and friends. She’s losing hope and her mates are losing their minds trying to find her.

This book packs a punch with more drama, angst, and spice than what we saw in book 1. Our writing duo knew what they were doing when they wrote this sequel and I can truly say I’m going to miss this world. I can’t wait to see where the others take us next in this universe. With Ella getting an HEA but questions still left i answers there is a lot of potential here that I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for!

Run dont walk to this book! If you’re ready for spicy omegaverse fun, mystery, draman, and a hoard of mates that will make you swoon this book is for you.

I Give this Book a 4/5 Star Rating, Listing as

This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.
*Grins*

This is technically a sweetverse, a lite spectrum of omegaverse, I personally prefer dark omegaverses. But this universe is surprisingly addictive to me. Once you open the first page, it’s very easy to zone in.

HEA(?): HFN, but you know it’s an HEA.

*While her story is done (It is a Duet), Ella and her harem will be seen and will be important in future books in this universe.
There are questions that I would’ve liked answered or to be slightly more focused on, but I hope they’ll be answered in someone else’s book 😊
There are characters that I hope get their own books *fingers crossed! 🤞*

Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem: (9) Mates - MMMMFMMMMM

M/M(?): Lite
Insta(?): This is a insta-love-y, but it does feel believable.
Heat: 4/5
Romance: 4-4.5/5
Pacing: is a bit more fast paced than I was expecting.
Dark(?): No
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 4/5

Heat Level: 4/5
Going into Heat(?): Does Occur.
Slick(?): Yes-ish
Knotting: Does Occur.
Nesting: Isn’t the traditional way, that I’m used to. But it’s done in a pretty cute way.
Purring: Is Mentioned but doesn’t come out intentionally or unintentionally, (so far)
Biting: Does Occur.
Mate Marking(?): Yes
Alpha Dominance and/or Aggression(?): No, but if you’d read the first book (hopefully lol) you’d understand why.
Omega Submissive Behavior(?): in regards to Alphas, it’s more like their on the same level, no instinctual eye dropping or submissive posturing. Which isn’t something I’m entirely used to, but this is sweetverse.
Male Omega(?): Yes! 😍
Male Omega Heat(?): Yes.
MPreg(?): No

3.5 Mystic Harbor should be real

Picking up right where we left off in book 1, I was really interested to know how Ella and her mates would deal with her kidnapping.

It was interesting to get a glimpse of what Ella went through in the asylum and I like how she keeps on collecting mates. Always fun when no one is expecting it to see their reactions.

However I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first one. With so many mates, I feel that we didn’t get enough of each one individually and I wanted to know more about them personally. To be fair Ella did a good job managing it all overall but I didn’t feel as connected this time around.

I also felt the ending was quite rushed and abrupt and I was expecting a third book focusing on those characters to give me some closure so I feel a bit disappointed. I guess it’s just not meant to be and I’ll have to get my fix through the others characters from this universe. It will be interesting to get more of Mystic Harbor and its inhabitants via the next bunch.

A good story that left me wanting more !

I loved every minute and don't want to say goodbye

The story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The heat: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

If Mystic Harbor can't be a real town (and man do I wish it was real!), the next best thing is coming back to it in this story. We pick up right where we left off, with Ella taken and her mates desperately searching for her.

Ella is a character that snuck up on me. On the surface she seems bubbly and likable, a typical omega. But then you see more of her, like how much she's been deprived of in her life and how it makes her treasure new experiences now. I got to see how each new mate, and the love they gave her, helped her grow out of her beaten and abused shell, and before I knew it I couldn't help loving her myself!

I'm happy to say we have a lot more A/B/O elements to the story and they happen immediately! This was something I missed in the last book and the authors made up for it in this one! What they also added plenty of, love, heat, and mates (yes Ella adds more to her harem in this story, proving you can't ever have enough love). Usually in stories with large harems some of the guys can feel lost or like I didn't properly "get to know" them, but again, the authors did not disappoint. Each of these guys gets their *moment*, some scorching, some sweet, and I loved each part of it.

This book and these characters was just what I needed this week. Jarica James and Suki Williams give us a mix of darkness and light that creates one special magical world I'm not nearly prepared to say goodbye to. If you loved this book as much as I do, please let the authors know, because I don't want to completely say goodbye to Mystic Harbor just yet!

I seriously wouldn't mind reading a spin off or a future read on her and harem life. Being my author myself... I can say you kepted me on my toes and Wow! I would love to see her meeting the mates families, even the ones who disowned them with drama, chaos, and more of her writing coming to life. :)

I’m always surprised when books I pass over time and again end up being really good. I enjoyed this series, and it was a lot of fun to read.

However, it does touch upon one of my greatest pet peeves and I really had to force myself to ignore it. When I pick up a reverse harem I want the males to be centered around the female. That’s what a reverse harem is. Once you start adding in all the MM relationships it gets tricky.

So, in this book many of the FMC’s fated mates ended up being fated for each other, and that’s fine. What isn’t fine is when the FMC’s fated mates put her aside completely once they mate with each other. The FMC’s Gargoyle mate didn’t touch her, date her, or even kiss her after he mates the male omega. Her Griffin mate didn’t even attend her heat, because he was with his other mate.

In fact, half of her mates didn’t attend her heat because they were with the male omega, whom they aren’t even mates with.

The male omega who mated Ellie never touched her either - not even once. He ran off to be with her other mate almost immediately. This is such a big pet peeve of mine I struggled not to put this book down… fortunately, I really enjoyed the story regardless. Though I doubt I’ll ever reread it because of that issue.

- Omegaverse - Alpha, beta, omega
- Humans and Supernaturals
- FMC is a witch and an omega
- Mates: x2 fae, elf, bear shifter, wolf shifter, gargoyle, griffin, x2 Siren (6 alphas, 2 betas, 1 omega)
- Fated mates
- MM relationships
- Abuse by medical professionals
- Abuse by cops
- Abuse by caregivers (parents)
- 3/5 Steamy

Ella finds herself back at the psych hospital, the place of her nightmares. Now she knows she's not crazy, and she knows her mates will be coming for her. But the danger is greater than ever before. Thankfully, she has surprise help on the inside, and an escape is made. She finds herself back with her mates with fresh trauma and danger on her heels.

Rushed, lacking depth, convoluted. I could have rated this lower but I no longer rate below a 3-star out of respect for the work the author put into her book baby. Let's be honest, the last thing this story needed was another mate. Why the decision to have so many mates and then cross-mate everyone? Since the mates are all mating and seem to spend more time with each other than Ella, I guess it's okay. I'm not sure I have ever been more disappointed in the direction of a story than I am in this book. I liked Ella. Tanniv, Drystan, Maddox, and Leif would have been ideal mates. Asra preferred the water. Hunter and Spencer should have been left to their happy long-term relationship. I kept forgetting who Reed was and then would remember, oh the other Omega, pure competition. He seemed like a friend who came along to siphon off her men. He never showed any interest in her. Worst mate ever! And poor Cedric was pointless. So many mates and yet, she still slept alone until they decided she needed someone for her nightmares. Yet, the guys were off having date nights. She was a sidepiece who brought danger to the town. She should have been so much more. While I am complaining, I want to know. Why would you bring the Siren to protect her on land? She could breathe underwater with her mate. Why not take her to the protection of the siren home? Let the gargoyles then handle the intruders. Instead, we have sirens splashing mercenaries...

Omegaverses has been one of my favourite things to read for the year 2023. I just love them so much. This book was such a unique omegaverse and I flew through the duet in a couple of days. My Kindle was glued to my hands because I could not put this duet down until I finished it. This universe was so interesting and I wish there was more world-building because holy moly it was fascinating. I was just entranced by it, literally, the magic within the world put a spell on me. Ella and her men were so much fun and I love how she collected them over the course of the first book and into the first part of the second. It was unique and was like a breath of fresh air. It is not something I am used to when it comes to RH so it was a nice refresher. The plot of the book was intense and I never knew what to expect which kept me glued to the pages. I didn’t even want to sleep because it was that addicting. I really loved this duet and the only downside was I found that it skipped time a lot, which was unfortunate. I think having not skipped that many parts could have added more depth to the book and made them a bit longer. That’s literally the only downside but again it is just a minor thing. I think I just wanted more of these characters which I think is a huge compliment. I’m so happy that Suki Williams and Jarica James said that this universe is not done yet and that other characters in the universe will have their stories told which I’m so excited for. I loved every character in this duet and I can’t wait to see whose stories they decide to write, I have some ideas already on whose books they will write but I’m hoping for some surprises as well. I loved this duet so much and I cannot recommend it enough. If you like RH, cozy vibes, and magic then this duet is for you.

I'm so sad that Ella's story is over. I could definitely go for more of her and her mates, but I'm happy with what we got. The second book in her duet really took things up a notch, coming from a sweeter first book, finding and getting to know her mates, to being a touch darker in this book as she has to deal with being separated from her mates for a while. However, even while separated, it was nice to see Ella have a bigger backbone than the institution expected her to have from their experience with her in the past. She had something to stay strong and fight for and wouldn't just roll over for them.

The action and steam increased quite a bit this time around as well as the amount of fated mates going around in town. There were quite a few surprises regarding those, most that I never saw coming. Some were an easy acceptance whereas others took a bit to get used to. I loved that Suki and Jarica put some unlikely characters together because it really gave them the chance to air out their issues, allowed us to get a better understanding of their characters, and was just plain entertaining.

The characters in this duet are just too easy to fall in love with, even the side characters easily grab your attention. I would absolutely love to see more Mystic Harbor books so we can see what happens with Violet, Remi, Brooks, Jonah, and many of the other members of the town.

Ella has been taken and she is back in the place she was running away from in the first place. The doctor, Dr Sloane and her uncle are draining her magic and keeping her locked away. Since she is in heat when she first gets there, it makes it even harder on her.

Ellas bio dad, Dean and her mates are on a mission to find her and bring her home to Mystic Harbor.

Ella has some crazy reveals while she is locked away, and she doesnt know how to deal with knowing her mother she never got to know is locked away in that place. Thanks to some help from a PI and a new mate, Ella is able to get back to Mystic Harbor and her mates. They start to plan how to take down their enemies so they can live a happy life in peace.

I can't get enough of this world! The characters are so amazing, the world is INCREDIBLE and I am just obsessed with it all!

Go read this AMAZINGNESS ASAP!!!

This book picks up right where the other left off with Ella having been taken and the mates trying desperately to find her but coming up empty. Ella's best friend Violet gives them an PI to get in touch with and he and his partner end up getting Ella out of the hospital (and in the hospital she find another mate). She goes home and we get some scenes of her with her mates and also trying to work through the trauma from the hospital. I wish we would have had more time to develop the relationships with her and her mates but because there are so many of them it becomes difficult (that is why I am hoping that we get some more stories with this group) and also the development of relationships with her family not that she has found them. The end feels a bit rushed and I am glad that everything comes together but I feel like it could have been a bit slower and more suspenseful and the bad guys ends could have been a bit more. We get more information on side characters and I am excited for spin offs in this world. This is a very steamy book (how could it not be with so many mates, and then we get an heat which seems horrible and yet not).

I received a free copy of this book via the author for an ARC review and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the second book in the duet of Ella and her mates. It picks up right where book one left off and starts with a bang! We get to learn more about Ella and all of her mates. There is some slightly darker moments, but nothing too dark. The steam level in this picks it up a notch and that is always a plus! I found myself arguing about things out loud and questioning why certain things were happening. That is how drawn into this world I was. Suki and Jarica have created a world that just sucks you in and I became immersed in this story. I love books like that. I really liked that they stayed true to Ella’s personality from the first book. She didn’t all of a sudden become this unstoppable force that didn’t need anyone else. Don’t get me wrong, Ella has an inner strength and her main strength comes from relying on her mates and newfound family. She isn’t a doormat by any means. But the authors were able to write a strong FMC that depends on others to help her when she needs it most. I loved that about Ella. This is a wonderful duet to introduce us to this world and I hope we are able to have more stories about the rest of the characters in the future.

You know those books that you read and you just can’t seem to put the book down. You even hide from your kids in crazy places like the closet, your bathtub, or even the third row of your SUV…..yeah well, that was what I did when I read this book. You have no idea how bad I have been waiting to read Masked by Chaos after reading book 1. BUT!!!!…this book knocked it out the park. I fell in love with this omega verse and am sad to have to say goodbye to these characters. I do want to point out that there are some triggers and you should check them out before reading. Now to the good part….I can’t say if Book 1 was my favorite because they both were really amazing. Masked by Chaos is definitely spicy! I loved the way other characters were introduced and how it felt like you can see what is next to come in Mystic Harbor. Or at least what you want to see next! 😉 Ella is one lucky bihhhh because her mates are there and ready! 😈 She is amazing and strong af!! I wish we can see more of these characters, but one can only hope! I really enjoyed this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🖤
Happy Reading!! 😈

Big harem, poor writing

I wasn't sure if I would read this when I finished the second book. Ultimately, I decided to just finish the duet though. And incase you're wondering, because it's not super clear, this was a duology. This is the end for Ella's story, though the authors hinted at continuing the Mystic Harbor story with other characters.

Okay, so I know I said this was Ell's story but that's not completely true. There are so many interconnected mates in her harem that I lost track of who was mated to who. It didn't help that the story was told at a dizzyingly fast pace so I never had time to connect with the mates in a way that would make them distinct. I kept forgetting about certain mates, then they'd pop up out of nowhere and I'd have to flip back to figure out who they were. At one point one of gargoyles randomly popped up in a dinner scene with all the mates and I was flipping back in the book to figure out who that mate was before I realized he wasn't mate at all.

Bottom line, I'm not sure I'd recommend this series. I love, love, love a big harem but only if it's done well and, unfortunately this one was not.

This book had it all: angst, drama, mystery, and spice! It kept me on my toes and we finally got the answers we needed!

After we got left with that cliffhanger, we pick right up when Ella was taken away from her mates. We learn so much more about Ella and her past, as well as her family. It was heartbreaking in the beginning and I was biting my nails the entire time! Her mates are scrambling to try to get her back while she’s stuck in the mental hospital.

Ella has grown so much into herself and remains strong throughout. It was a natural progression, and she remained true to herself. Both her and her mates are dependent on each other, and I love the relationship she has with each of them. They all have different personalities and they were all swoon worthy. The spice does pick up some in this book, and I was all for it!!

We also get to see some more of the side characters’ stories and it seems like we aren’t quite finished with their stories yet! I seriously love this world and was so happy that Ella and her mates got their HEA.

This book was Hoppin

I liked how this book had an ending that didn’t cripple me. It also had explained what happened after. I loved the dif povs, and I loved how each of her men had entirely different personalities. This book had ALOT of male on male action. It was a bit to much for me and I skipped a few pages because it felt almost like there was more of a focus on the MM than there was on the fmc. She got lots of nooky but it wasn’t as described and detailed as much the MM scenes. Plus there was a huge focus on his “heat” vs herself. I loved that there was the Alpha, Beta and Omega designations. I loved how all her men were all different kinds of supernaturals and they all just “Fit” with the fmc. Reading how horrible her father and mother treated her growing up was awful and heartbreaking. The fmc finding out they aren’t her true parents was a shock and it was exactly what the fmc needed. It was a heartbreaking scene when she found out. The fmc has grown so much since she came to mystic falls and I can’t wait to find out what Mystic Falls has for us next!

I'm not a fan

There's just way too many relationships going on. Plus the fact that none of them are loyal to her, not cheating wise, but like, none of them followed her or physically try to get her back. They were less than 5 minutes behind her when she's kidnapped and they're like oh man, they took her away in a car? Well we'll never see her again. Let's all go back to work. And they literally leave her to be tortured for weeks while crossing fingers and hoping someone else will find her... And it's a running theme in the whole relationship and the whole book. None of them seem to really care that much. Like they're chasing her down when she runs out because of a bad dream but when they get to the door they're like oh man well she's gone. let's call all nine dudes and will run after her dramatically but you know after we all get dressed and have a meeting, maybe some coffee, I don't know. Like... Uh, yeah. Sounds like she's really the love of your life, man. Soulmates. Sure.

Dang, I am loving Mystic Harbor and all the people present.
This book picked up right where the first one left us. We learn almost right away who has Ella and where she is and why. We do learn a few more things about the hospital in this book. Which is dark and disturbing and will make your skin crawl since it's all pretty much centered on greed. We also learn more about Ellas' mom and her side of the family.

I love the men all of them are special to me and I love their different personalities and how they all are with Ella. I do wish we saw more group sex scenes cause I'm a slut and have no shame #sueme

Also, we even learned more about side characters in this book which totally shows us we will be getting more of Mystic Harbor. I personally am hoping for books on Sterling, Brooks, Dean, and Violet. Give me all the people lol

Also can we talk about that ending and us getting to see ole grumpy Victor and Rosalyn again??? I loved them so much

I don’t know how I feel. Sad I guess. This duet was good but I honestly just can’t get over how Maddox was with Ella basically one time and than the rest it seemed like he only cared about Reed. That was hard to watch happen especially when Ella had been through so much and was Dayi g it was hard sleeping alone and her other mates were busy but Maddox and Reed were I. The same damn house as her just in the other room together while she lonely and having nightmares it was just horrible. We also never get to see how Cedric and Leif really build a relationship. It was so disappointing also after the trauma Ella had been through Hunter and Spencer still decide to live in their own separate house instead of with her. It was bizarre because not only is she their fated mate but also is an omega the need to be with her and take care of her I just would have expected to be stronger and I didn’t get that happy feeling for her that she had mates now it seemed to kind of just be.

This book was such an easy read! I love how as more situation were added the more the guys stepped up and everything jut picked up from book 1.

I think the reader really got I see what drove Ella as a MC an why she reacted to the situation around her the way she did. I’m going to miss visiting this world because they way it was built was so creative and different I want to see everything left unsaid. The way that light and darkness was balanced is honestly perfect for this set of characters. The HEA es well deserved and I will miss the chance to see how everything unravels after and how the dynamic will develop as the relationships settle in.

The heat was definitely showed both their sweet and steamy side which made me look forward to seeing how each connected with Ella.

Overall really enjoyed!

Masked by Chaos is book 2 of Ella’s story with her many many mates! You pick up right where you left off in Power of fate. Jarica and Suki really new what they were doing when they wrote this duet. The world they created is magical with a great mixture of darkness with light. This book is packed with spice, drama and more spice!

Poor Ella ending up back in her own personal hell with her nightmares is not what she imagined when she had as many mates surrounding her. But her uncle sure found a way. You also find out so many new secrets as she’s in Kensington. She’s so much stronger this time around and I loved it. She fought back when she could, that is until her Heat kicked in and that took all her strength away. When she does finally manage break out and gets back in Mystic Harbor, she has much to recover from. Luckily she doesn’t need to do it alone!

Oh Gods! I am still reeling from the Heat scene! 🥵🔥😮‍💨 I think that was the most intense thing I’ve ever read! i loved it!

Im not ready to say goodbye to this world just yet. i am very hopeful that we may get a few spin offs of some of the new characters that were introduced in this book 2.

Mask of Chaos was practically everything I wanted it to be. New additions to the crew help save the day, and Ella's family expands even more than she expected. The bad guys all get what's coming to them, and the happy ever after is hard earned and well deserved.

The only issue that I found with the story is that the sexy times are incohesive. Some are detailed and beautifully depicted (and let's not forget hot AF!) while others are much more subtle with a tendency towards fade to black moments. None of these scenes are bad. They're just a little scattered.

One of the best things about the conclusion to this duet is that there are plenty of options for spin-offs, which is never a bad thing. I hope these ladies bring us back to Mystic Harbor in the future.

Well

I just never could get over Reed not seeming to care that Ella was his mate and gaming a good portion of her mates for his itwn use. They didn't even share their heat when they went into heat at the same time? Or seem to care that they never spent time together or act like a couplee?.it was like two buddies in a marriage pact that had zero romantic feelings for each other and Maddox basically disappeared as a result of this too. her sirens are the only ones that really seemed to love her and want to be with her, to me, this is all my own opinion based off my feelings and understandings and experiences so please make up your own mind! The world is interesting, the characters are fun, and I loved the side characters that may get their own books

What an incredible journey!

Were there unanswered questions at the end of this story? Yes. It's definitely more of a HFN than a HEA, but it also fit. Hopefully further voyages into this world will answer some of those questions!

The characters were incredible! The FMC is quirky enough to have some hilarious lines/reactions. Her mates also had quite a few wonderful lines too! Whether spicy or humorous!

The world building was very focused, and the different backstories for the many mates could have been explored further to add to the story. The real highlight to the world building was the unique aspects of magical abilities! The authors were very creative with this and it suited the story very well, giving it a depth that was needed!

Excellent!

Masked by Chaos, book 2 of the Mystic Harbor duet by Suki Williams @authorsukiwrites & Jarica James @jaricawrites. This duo is a relatively new to me author.

This book picks up after Ella is kidnapped. Ella wakes up in the middle of her heat at the mental hospital she has spent most of her life in. She meets Cedric, another mate, & he is there undercover to take down the hospital. They escape with the help of Aiden, a nurse, who was Cedric’s contact. Both Ella & Reed go into heat once Ella is back in town. They all get through it & then they are attacked by her uncle, the Dr & mercenaries. They take them down & have their happy ever after. 🥰

This was an excellent book!

I'm a bit disappointed to be honest.

The first book was really entertaining and this one just felt forced.

The beginning was decent, but the juvenile writing that was more or less in check in the previous book really stood out in this one. It drove me mad.

When she returned, the plot went totally downhill. Everything felt forced scenes were passing as if just to check some list.
This was a good draft, but in no way a finished book.
And the plot holes were also driving mad!!! Didn't anyone edit this book? Beta read at least?

I still finished it. By the way, the ending was rushed... well, it felt that there wasn't one, that the book just ended. Another editing fail.

Wow! What a way to keep going after book 1. I was absolutely gripped from the very beginning as this book picked up where we left off in book 1. Ella is back in that mental institute. She's been gone from her mates, gone from Mystic Harbor for weeks! It's getting a little tense in Mystic Harbor. Her mates are frantic. Ella is stuck in that ward with no help. Or wait...is there help?

Book 2 holds so much more action. In book 1, Ella is collecting her mates. In book 2, there's more steam and MM action. There's more mystery and intrigue and left me wanting more. I'm actually kind of sad to be leaving Mystic Harbor. This place really pulled me in.
