Time is running out for my small pack that keeps getting bigger by the day. After finally getting my suppressed memories back from Claire, I have a little over a month to shift to be able to return to Moon Born Academy.
But there are demonic wolves called oni wolves after us. With little time to shift into a wolf and oni wolves always around, my pack is in for trouble.
We pick up following the events of Rejected Wolf. Esme has been working through all of the past memories that were returned to her. Among the revelations were sėxual assåult and the resulting retribution. At the pack’s suggestion, Esme undergoes therapy, but quickly grows tired of her guys treating her with kid gloves.
While we met the second set of twins, Xave and Kylo, in RW, we get to know them better in this installment as they become more ingratiated in the pack. We, likewise, see more one-on-one interaction between Esme and each of her mates when they take her on dates.
Throughout this installment we learn more about Esme’s past, her connection to the Luna pack as well as to Luna herself. As Esme grows stronger, so does her power and connection with the goddess Luna which enables her to grow into her role as pack leader.
I enjoyed the storyline and the direction the story took. The series was interesting overall and there was no lack of action in the trilogy. I wish I would have connected more with Esme. Her demeanor, and even the way she spoke, did not seem befitting a pack leader let alone a goddess incarnate. As in RW, the flow was a bit clunky and disjointed at times, but it was still an enjoyable series.
I’m so sad. It’s over (until I re-read the entire series back to back). I love these characters so much. I seriously think about them all time like I actually know them. No lie I’m always wondering what they’re doing lol I need them in a tv series for real. Just when I thought there is no way this gets better she adds one of my new favorite mating rituals and a new kink.
Two minor complaints I don’t feel like we got quite enough time with Luci and Ax and the plot was a bit anticlimactic. But Krew, Kia, and Kylo are still my absolute favs. This series is just so much fun and hot.
At this point, I know more about their sex life than the plot. There’s EIGHT mates!! Why?! So unnecessary, especially because the last four are introduced in the third book. The relationships aren’t fully developed and they only ever think about sex. Where’s the black goddess plot?! Why is it that only one person is black in the harem?! Eight people and only one is black and she’s half🙄
How many white men need to be apart of this black girls harem? It’s not like I don’t read all white cast books, but I feel like if you’re going to center a book around a black women or person in general, you should probably add more people like them. Why is there no other black people around besides Kira and Claire? Why does she also read as a white women for majority of the series? Why is the only black person poor? (Kira and Claire are irrelevant, they barely exist in the series) Not that I mind her being spoiled, it’s just kinda telling. Could’ve at least added a mixed man in the mix. HELL—if you added Kira to the mix, it’d be more interesting.
Besides the point…
I’m bored with the sex plot. Why are there so many men in this harem? At this point ion even care bout the Oni. Anybody have any GOOD shifter recs with black female leads. Ion mind interracial, as long as it’s a good book.
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with this one.
these books were extremely enjoyable to me and besides the gramatical errors, I didn't have a lot to complaint that wasn't easy to ignore. this book had such a great premise, but I felt like the execution made the trilogy itself disappointing
what I mean is: reverse harems are already a genre where I (and I speak for me) don't expect a lot of. plot and character development are simply things that I would enjoy seeing, but I don't expect, and unfortunately this goes for relationship development as well
while I enjoyed esmeray for who she was and what she represented, and enjoyed her mates as well, I feel like the addition of several other mates kinda disrupted the book in the sense of not giving them anything besides being her mate. zeno, stone, kai and krew were all character that although they didn't have much to their characters, they were around long enough for me to see them with esme and to ship, as well as enjoy. they had little bits about themselves that were enough for me and the way they treated her was amazing. plus, the capability of them all to talk through things and realize when they are being immature is something that I enjoy and praise
but with the others, we didn't get the same opportunity to love. the addition of kylo and xave was something that I deeply enjoyed. again, they don't have a lot going on for them (quite literally) but I was okay with it because I expected this book to bring more. it unfortunately didn't, but it was only two characters
except that she added two others besides the ones that already were there. esmeray ends up having eight mates that lack development and while I was able to enjoy the book and be entertained, I missed at least the author's attempt to make them something other than her mates
the plot was rushed, the characters were undeveloped (with the exception of esmeray, who grew a bunch) and the lack of an epilogue annoyed me. the last chapter being just a sex scene and no talk about her twin's sex or the life they built together or anything just seems lazy to me. this book should've been longer to at least accommodate the amount of characters and the plot, but it wasn't
plot holes, grammar are things that I usually ignore in books (plus characters that I have and some other things), but the things that do matter to me and are what keeps me entertained were still there, but so much less than they were on previous books. anyway, I don't know
and another thing that annoyed me was stone. he was an asshole throughout the whole book and after shit hits the fan he just decides that he's besties with the guy he didn't like previously??? like magic??? I understand developing respect and some sort of bond with someone you dislike after realizing that you could lose the person who brought you together, but their closeness was so sudden and so forced that I was rolling my eyes on all the two scenes they interacted
I would have given 5 stars, but the editing seemed worse in this book than it did even in the others. The story ITSELF was pretty great. It concluded the mystery of the demonic wolves in a reasonable amount of time - it didn't drag on, but it didn't end too abruptly either. It ended a bit quicker than I expected but it wasn't a bad thing. It actually worked well.
*** BIG SPOILERS AHEAD***
I was minorly surprised that Reed called the pack to let them know where Esme was. Especially since he was still an arse in the end. I'm a little confused with his psycho butt. He wanted to be her mate again and be a part of the pack, yet was still sleeping with his ex - okay, fine. He then kept trying, until the pack put him in his place (even then he still tried by sending gifts). Did he just want the extra girl to bang? What was his motive? In the end, I wondered if he'd be the bad guy or be redeemed, and I was impressed with how he ended up. Usually books make them end up one way or another, so this was a cool change. I kind of had hope for him, despite him being a jerk throughout, but sucks to be him!
Goddess Wolf is the third book in the Moon Born Academy trilogy and what an explosion ending that was!
I’m going to be keeping this review short and sweet because there isn’t much to say without spoiling the first two books. Which I highly recommend reading first.
I think this book was more heavy on spicy scenes than the actual story. I kind of wish there was more fighting between the Moon Born Academy wolf pack and the Oni wolf pack, and figuring out why the fighting was occurring but within saying that, I did love the scenes between Esme and her pack- those smut scenes were something. 🔥
This will be one series I will be happy to say I would reread in the future.
And don’t those covers look incredible together ❤️
The whole series is available now on Amazon both as an ebook and paperback. It’s also available in KU in Australia as well.
Thank you @authorrunehunt for giving me the honour to read and review your whole trilogy of Moon Born Academy and getting to know Esme and her incredible wolf pack. 🥰
So let me start by saying I do love the RH genre and sexy times in books, but this book was NOT enjoyable with the sexy times. At one point I wondered if the author had indeed been intimate before or got ideas from adult entertainment sites.. let's just throw out there spit as lube, and gagging and drooling and being sexy.. if that's to your thing you may really enjoy this.
Now what nobody should like is the insane number of typos that this book had, no some were easily overlooked but more then half I couldn't even figure out after reading it a second or third time, there was also a lot of inconsistencies but most of that is easy to skim over (ex. Wearing different clothing).
They seriously rushed through the bad guy wrap up too, just a few pages, you know so another bad sex scene that was twice as long could be thrown in.
In conclusion this wrap up book was horrible, I'd stop after the first 2 and leave this one unread, and possibly not even pick up the next one this author writes.
I thought this book was a good end to the series. I did have a lot of unanswered questions though. I’m wanted to know who Esme’s mother was. I wanted an in-depth look into her and her mate’s futures. An epilogue of their future would have been great. I’m glad her and the pack rejected Reed again. He was a total asshole. I felt the tiniest bit of pity for him since he essentially loses everyone who matters but he brought that on himself 🤷🏽♀️ Stone pissed me off for a little while. Him wanting to reject Esme because he was jealous of Axton was fucking ridiculous. I would have made him GROVEL!! But all was well by the end. I did wanna know more about Kira and her girlfriend. There’s a scene where Esme asks Kira about them but before she can answer Reed interrupts and causes problems 🙄 as always lmao
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Yes!! Watching Esme come into her own was great. Now that she has unlocked what happened to her as a child she has to work through all of her feelings and emotions. Her guys all care for her so freaking much and tried to coddle her a bit too much for which she stood up for herself and I loved it. After all she is an Alpha. I loved watching the relationship between her and each of her guys grow and flourish and watching them each take her on a date so amazing. They all fit so well with one another. The conclusion to this trilogy was everything I wanted and it was a greatly great series and would highly recommend.
A good happy ending for Esme and her mates! I would love to read more from these characters, though! Especially because certain things just felt a bit unresolved. I love how the author doesn't spend too much time on fluff, like how things ended with Reed - I was done with him in book 1 already, he's gross. The tension within the pack was disappointing, especially because of who it came from. He was just being a brat, bringing Esme's worst fears to the forefront. Overall, I loved the harem evolving over time and how each character was distinguishable from the others. Again, though, I feel that not enough time was spent with the last few mates that were found.
Book 1 and 2 made me excited to see what would come next for our heroine but book 3 failed to deliver. There was no editing in book 3 which is frustrating on its own however the whole excitement about the heroine being the first Luna in centuries falls absolutely flat.
Book 3 is basically a drinking game for how much smut can be crammed into a book using only one chapter through out the whole book as an actual plot. 3 stars because the author did get me to mostly read all 3 books.
I loved this series. When I found the author from her promoting online I was immediately intrigued. I fell in love with Esme and all her guys. I loved the way their relationships developed together and separately. I wish this could go on forever but all good things must come to an end. I will for sure be reading the whole series again since I am obsessed. So thankful I got to read this as an Arc Member. Thank you Rune Hunt.
This conclusion to Esme and her pack’s whirlwind story was filled with all kinds of action, suspense, drama, violence, sex, and twists and turns throughout. It kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of how it would all end. And then the ending – AMAZING!
This was quite the enjoyable series and I can’t wait to see what this amazing author gives us next.
I don’t think this series should’ve been called Moon Born Academy. They literally spent two weeks in school. How was everybody in the parents pack rich except Esme’s dad? In this dire situation, why would Kai tell her she doesn’t kill? Finding the scientist was anticlimactic. Why did Reed become obsessed at the end? How did Krew survive when everybody else died?
I am writing this review after completing the three book series.
Overall the series was ok. If not for the explicit sex scenes, I would recommend it as YA fiction. The characters are early 20s and their emotions, actions, and reactions were indicative of that age group.
The storyline is somewhat interesting, but there are major plot holes and missed opportunities for a more captivating story. I did find myself pushing through to finish.
I've now read all three books, and I can say that giving each book 2 stars is being generous! Each book is nothing more than a group of 8 or 9 young wolf shifter males between the ages of 18 and 20 having sex with their 19 year old wolf shifter female Alpha. That's it!! Yes, there was a brief attempt at a mystery plot around the creation of demon wolf shifters but over the course of the three books that probably accounted for 10 pages. Thank goodness these were free books otherwise I would have wasted time and money!
This was a really good book and ending to this trilogy. You get to see Esmeray finally come in to her own. They definitely had to fight to get their hea. They fought through all of the trials and prevailed. I enjoyed the bond she had with the guys. The only thing I would say is I wish there was a little more story but I really did enjoy this book.
Goddess wolf last book in moon born academy series, had a happily ever after. Emeray is finally complete. With the help of her mates she is able to bring justice to the captured wolves and take down the villain behind the attacks. Sad for this book to be at an end but was such a great ending, esmeray got to crate the family she always wanted.
I absolutely, delightfully, deliciously enjoyed every single book. I was up until 5am reading books. Finished all 3 books in 2 days. I love books, like these. Great storyline, great love story, drama, fighting, back story, just everything I require. Would have loved an epilogue to see what the twins were.
This was a great read. Who would've thought that Redman was that sick and would use is own son. I'm so glad that Reed rejected her and then in turn rejected him because I don't think that the vibe would be the same . He is such a butthole he gets in my nerves. I can't wait to find out who the babies belong to
I gave the series the benefit of the doubt… But unfortunately it just wasn’t quite it for me. There were lots of weird holes in the story where something was mentioned but I’d go back and a conversation didn’t happen.. This series has a lot of potential and I think with just some refining and plot hole filling this series could be awesome!
I hope this not the end we read about the characters in this book they’re young so they have so much growing to do once again I couldn’t put the book down was sad when I made it to the end but what a happy ending it was can’t wait to see what this author comes out with next
I was so excited to read the final book to this series and I was not disappointed! I love Rune's writing and how she brings the characters to life. If you haven’t read the alpha wolf series you need to go read it now!
I don’t want spoil the books of this series. Let’s just say the author put more thought in developing the sex scenes. Than really flushing out the story
Reed is still an idiot a complete idiot he doesn’t seem to understand how you’re supposed to treat people. Well with a family like he had it’s not a big surprise but still. I wish the ending was longer .
Absolute dream. This was a sexy, beautiful series, and all of Hunt’s MCs are living my dream families. I hope we see more of those characters from that place. I’m partial to Sunshine’s; that’s my nickname.
Goddess Wolf is book three in the series Moon Born Academy by author Rune Hunt. This one is crazy wild. Secrets are revealed and the big bad is closer to home than you’ll realize. Enjoy!!
