I'm satisfied with the ending, but I wish we could have seen their relationship develop a bit more once Meeko was of age. It kinda felt like we rushed to the end one we got to the good part. The art throughout the series was amazing and the side characters were well developed. I'd give this series a 3.5/5 overall.

Bref, « Mon coloc’ d’enfer » fût une très bonne lecture. J’ai adoré aussi bien les personnages et leur caractère que l’histoire qu’ils vivent et les rebondissements qui surviennent. Je pense que mon vécu a beaucoup joué sur mon appréciation de cette série. Néanmoins, si vous cherchez une histoire chaleureuse, simple mais solide, avec des personnages attachants et des dessins au top, ce mangas pourrait tout de même vous plaire à vous aussi.

It's such a bittersweet feeling finishing this series, especially since I started to read this when I was in high school and would patiently wait for months until a new chapter was released.
It feels like the end to an era. Finishing this manga series seems like saying goodbye to my younger days when I was a romantic naïve girl who believed in love portrayed in those shoujo mangas that I used to read so much 🥺

Una sèrie d'amor que aconsegueix presentar una relació amb una diferència d'edat de 10 anys (17 la noia, 27 el noi) com una parella cuqui, tot i que és una premissa molt complicada si no s'aborda amb delicadesa. Potser no m'ha costat gaire d'assumir perquè l'edat mínima de consentiment a Espanya són els 16 anys i perquè l'evolució de la parella és respectuosa, lenta i versemblant (tot i que hi ha dinàmiques que no molen gaire...). Els personatges secundaris són adults, viuen tots en una casa compartida i aporten certa gràcia a la trama principal. Com que és una sèrie llarga en algun moment perceps que s'està allargant el xiclet i que hi ha drames innecessaris, però és força entretinguda de llegir. Això sí, el final és massa abrupte, es resol tot en l'últim capítol i s'omet la part de la història més interessant: quan la Miko és major d'edat i pot començar a sortir amb el Matsunaga de manera oficial. Crec que el recurs del salt en el temps està massa suat i no funciona en aquest cas: necessitem més detalls!!!! :(

I’ve finished my traditional vacation romance manga! Every time I travel with my friend Jae, I pick a Shojo/Josei to read. This time it was Living-Room Matsunaga-San. I had some initial reservations about this series because I didn’t know what it was about, I was especially iffy because of the age gap romance. I won’t say it’s my favourite series, but it was a super fun read! I do, in fact, want to reread it, which for me is a good sign. I feel like there are a lot of scenes that made me giggle, scream, smile wide, and gasp!

I did love the range of characters and I’m so glad some of them got together when they did, because I’ve been waiting.

Can I also take a moment to appreciate Hojo-San? This man was THE perfect second love interest and I genuinely wish Miko had chosen him instead. He was in touch with his feelings, wanted the best for her, like??? AND HE LOVED CATS?? Anyways, I’m a little salty that Miko didn’t realize Hojo was THE PERFECT person for her. Not that I have anything against Matsunaga-San, but it is a bit weird, you have to be for real.

I was reading this on a train from Lisbon to Porto with my earbuds in. In case you want some good reading music, I think the following songs would apply in these scenarios:

- Like I Can by Sam Smith (Hojo-San to Miko)
- Mind over Matter by Young the Giant (Hojo-San to Miko)
- I wanna be Yours (reprise) by Arctic Monekys (Hojo-San to Miko)
- Getaway car by Taylor Swift (when Matsunaga-San gets hit by the truck)

A very sweet ending to a very sweet series!!!!

I give this series a 4.5 out of 5 stars overall. I loved reading this. Yes, there’s an age gap. Yep, it’s 10 years. But I think the mangaka did well making it not creepy. Having the characters wait to be together till Meeko graduated high school was a good idea. The mangaka really built up their friendship and then their romance quite slowly. I have to be honest, when I first started reading this, I thought it was going to end up like Daytime Shooting Star (Shishio forever!!!!). …Thank god Matsunaga wasn’t her teacher. Lol!
Anyway, the ending was perfect. The time jump wasn’t too much. And I’m glad we didn’t jump straight to a wedding. I’m tired of shojo ending the series with a wedding. I’m also glad that Ryo didn’t get paired off with another girl from the boarding house. That’s too cheesy. I loved how much of a family everyone was in the boarding house. I want to live there!!!!

Още се изненадвам леко, че тази манга е толкова... бърза. Постоянно си поддържам впечатлението, че разните шоджота са безкрайни и разлокумени до най-крайния краен предел. Например Skip Beat! - колко време продължава? Станаха ли 20 години вече? Защо все пак продължава толкова... Що не вземете да ги ожените Кьоко и Рен и всички да си живеем спокойно живота? Мистерията на века :D
Но да се върнем на Мацунага. Простичка, бърза, лека традиционна история с край, който е... ами, миличък, така да се каже. "Хубаво нещо от живия живот", както биха се изразили по-възрастни хора, които познавам. Единственото, за което не съм съгласна, е решението, което се взе за Ходжо. Фен съм на друг тип решения на съответния проблем, дори и да са нереалистични в голям брой от случаите. Така де, майната му на реализма, когато четеш захаросани шоджота, нали така? :D Тук със захар не се предозира. Мацунага е леко магарешки тип, нещо като модерно цундере, но наистина може да се живее нормално с него. Това си е подобрение за този вид герои :D

We have finally reached the conclusion of this wild ride, especially after that cliffhanger at the end of Volume 10!

This was cute, just like the rest of the series, but I think this volume was a little rushed. The MC is too forgiving and throw in that wild trope the author randomly threw into the middle of the very short manga and this just felt like...so much happening with the fastest conclusion.

I do wish there was at least one more volume in this series--both because again, this felt rushed, and because I want more from these characters. I can't say goodbye yet 😭

We get a decent ending and a happy one. It was nice to see all the characters make a small appearance. The Ryo stuff felt way too dragged out and I wish Miko and Matsunaga had more relationship building towards the end. Overall this was a fun read with some great side characters and moments. The art was terrific from beginning to end and really added to the experience.

Okay so this was super cute and I was kicking my feet and giggling quite often. However, I think I don’t love the ML for her as much as the second bc he was uhh grooming her and leading her on. Also like I know irl you put work above ur s/o but not in shoujo manga😭. Ryo sweetheart I love you so much. Anyways good read (haha get it) and I was thinking about when I could go back to read it in class. Also! I had to read the last chapter in Spanish bc I couldn’t find the English anywhere LMFAO. Will buy physical when it comes out.

Der (überraschende) Abschluss der Reihe. Ich habe gedacht es kommen noch ein paar Bände, aber dem war wohl nicht so 😅 Das Ende war viel zu schnell und lose hingeworfen, das hätte ich mir besser gewünscht, aber es ist ein seichtes Romance Shojo Manga und es war süß.

***Whole Series Review***

It’s not perfect by any means. There is a very large age between the Meeko and her love interest. Which isn’t bad... but she’s underage; in high school. He’s a grown adult. 

That part really messed with my head, but I tried to remember that not only was it fiction, but other cultures differ from ours and have different standards for things. So I let it go. It wasn’t like they were having sex... he barely even kissed her and told her they wouldn’t even officially together until she graduated high school. So I mean... that’s good...

Moving on!

The art is simple and beautiful! I love everything looks realistic, nothing crazy as seen in a lot Shonen manga. I like that! I always prefer more Shojo styles. They are softer and more romantic. 

This series is very slow moving between our two main characters, so to make up for this, we get little side plots between other characters that live in the boarding house and I really enjoyed these! I fell in love with these characters and it hurt when they finally moved out of the house. I felt Meeko’s pain at being left behind. 

The mangaka did such a great job at making these characters feel real and I loved Meeko got to see that even though they are all adults; they don’t have their shit together like teenagers often assume. 

This is a cute manga that hooked me. I couldn’t stop reading. I still feel that Ryo-ken deserved better than what we got, but not all endings can be happy, I guess. 

If you like manga, or are thinking about diving in, this is easy to adjust to and sweet as can be.
