About the author

If you’ve ever opened an issue of *Heavy Metal* and stopped to admire Alfonso Azpiri’s gorgeous, sultry women and richly colored fantasy worlds, Sensations: The Art of Azpiri is a real treat.
This collection brings together a wonderful selection of Azpiri’s artwork in full color, showcasing everything that makes his work so immediately recognizable: sensuality, fantasy, lush colors, elegant linework, and an extraordinary gift for creating images that feel both dreamlike and wonderfully decadent.
There’s not much to say in terms of plot or narrative here—the artwork is the point, and what artwork it is. Page after page offers something to linger over, whether you’re already familiar with Azpiri or discovering him for the first time.
A beautiful book for anyone who appreciates fantasy illustration, European comics, or simply the pleasure of turning pages filled with spectacular images.
