A summons by the king turns Ayrion's life upside down.
He's being conscripted into the Lancer Corps . . . and it couldn't have come at a worse time.
Just as Ayrion's priorities are involuntarily split between the Elondrian Lancers and his tribe, Noph—the notably cunning chief of Sandstorm—calls for a secret meeting between himself and Hurricane. The outcome of that meeting forces Ayrion, Reevie, and Sapphire to make a decision that will not only affect their role within the tribes but will test the true strength of their friendship.
Whether they can survive the transition will hinge on which choice they make.

ABOUT ME: I graduated with honors in Business Accounting, but instead of pursuing this field, I returned to school to study film. I spent the next several years honing my visual craft, which I put to good use as I took what I’d learned behind the camera and applied it to the written word.
On April 14, 2014, I opened my laptop and began typing what would become two multiple award-winning series: The Aldoran Chronicles, and Street Rats of Aramoor (both set within the same world, but twenty years apart). By the time my second book released, I had quit my day job, walking away from production altogether, to pursue my writing career.

As life continues to improve for Aryion and the Hurricanes. One being a new home and them no longer being part of the Hurricanes but now are Sandstorm due to some unexpected events. Now as they start to become a little bit more respected by some the street rats are seeing their living situation improving. Not only that Reevie the healer has been able to obtain true training with a physician which will make him even more valuable as one of the chief's of Sandstorm. Even with the leader of Rockslide having been taken down a couple of pegs by Ayrion. Things were starting to look a little better. Mr Wiserhart continues to weave a great tale one for which I started reading by accident but continue to read due to his excellent story telling. Looking forward to seeing what he has in store for the Street Rats in "Wildfire.

This series is only getting better! I can’t believe I read 2 different *5 star* “fantasy” books in the same week……and the week is still young.
This is a series that I honestly fell in love with from the very beginning. There are actually two series going on for the reader to navigate. There is the Aldoran Chronicles - which is occurring in their "present" timeline, and then there is this one, which is the prequel that follows the main male MC Aryion back into the past so we can see how Aryion becomes who he is today.
With that being said, they are both excellent series. They have amazing character development, crazy and exciting action, interesting world building and just really great writing.
We are up to Aryion's teenage years. Things are getting interesting. His relationship with the Prince is going to be something that I think will get more attention in the next book. Aryion is becoming too important...the Prince is NOT going to like that.
So, I guess I'm waiting for the next book. Can't wait.
Sandstorm, the fourth instalment in Michael Wisehart’s Street Rats of Aaramoor Series takes us through Aryion’s formative years in the Tribes of Aaramoor. Aaryion is asked to become a Lancer for four days a week to prepare him supporting the Prince joining the lancers in the next year or two by the High King and can’t refuse as too much relies on his income he makes from training the Prince, nor does he want to jeopardize the generous stipend the King and Queen have arranged for the Orphanage that Aaryion’s street tribe supports. He finds a fellowship there amongst his lancer squad that awakens a longing inside Aaryion that he didn’t realize he had. Aaryion, Reevie and Sapphire are approached by Noph, the Chief of Sandstorm, and made an offer they can’t refuse. The ensuing pros and cons of that offer lead to massive changes in all their lives, resulting in one final showdown between Aaryion and his chief rival. Great 4th book in the series.
This is the largest book in the series so far (about five hundred pages), and the slowest so far. A couple of years have gone by, the kids are getting older and face new challenges. Aryion is almost living two lives, one with his tribe and another with the lancers, and having a time balancing them, especially when fate takes a twist that will drastically effect everyone within his tribe... It's still a good read, again clean, though for the mention of a wall portrait of Red clad only in a blanket. I certainly enjoyed the ending. I look forward to the next book
I like this series and will continue it. However, I get that this is a YA series but the main character struggles with taking lives is comical. While reading this series I can't count how many times I muttered to myself bro Just kill him. Also, I wonder if Sapphire will remain the main love interest because their ideals don't really match. Especially with him be in such a fake pacifist? Also, I know this is YA but it could be fleshed out better. It just feels kind of tacked on. There's no depth to their flirts to be honest. Sapphires flirts could be interchanged with Red's flirts and you wouldn't even notice. Overall, if you cut some of the fluff I think book Three and four could have just been one book. Here's hoping The story picks up.
The story transition of Ayrion from the time he was in the Lost City to now is amazing.
There was not as much excitement as the other books, which is understandable, but there was a lot more character building of Room 11, which I enjoyed.
The only thing that really got to me is that there was no need for the mass amount of description during Ayrion's practice drills.
Overall this story was as great as the other ones and even though I am one book away from ending this series, I am glad to be able to continue in this fantasy world with the continuation of the Aldoran Chronicals.
Book 4 picks up after the letdown of book 3 as Ayrion does something other than work with the child gang. Dakaran, the crown prince who has Ayrion as his only trainer and friend, becomes a focal point, and our favorite assassin becomes a regular at the king and queen's house.
Meanwhile, Noph, the head of gang Sandstorm wants to... Nope, I won't spoil it.
This book is better for the mix of different things going on. I'm waiting for one of Ayrion's people from the Lost City show up in the capital, but that hasn't happened yet.
I really enjoy this series. I was eager to read the first book after reading The White Tower. I wanted to learn more about Ayrion and where such a fascinating character came from. The main characters are great, and in each book they mature and grow. I have already preordered Book 5. What crazy situations will these young people get into next?? Keep up the great work, Michael, and thank you for sharing your stories! 😁
In the fourth book in the Street Rats of Aramoor, Ayrion faces new and unexpected challenges. First, Ayrion finds himself a member of the lancers and answering to someone who has little reason to trust him. Secondly, an unexpected opportunity forces him ad his two co captains to dissolve Hurricane, his tribe to merge with another. But will the Guild accept their decisions. As his life moves in two directions, Ayrion and his friends face dangers in both.
This series is the best epic fantasy out there, and I've read alot if them. The characters are strong the plot is full and smooth moving. I was soo engrossed in this read that I devoured it in 3 days. This is one series that I will be re-reading through my lifetime. It's just that good! Can't wait for the next book.
Flows nicely with very few grammar errors. The action was well paced. And this went far to further the story of the younger Ayrion. The conclusion went through a lot of things, but I guess this is the lead up to the time frame for the next book. I enjoyed it very much.
Nicely done. This author found a way to be original like I could have never imagined. Solid story telling. But you just be patient with the story as the daily routine illustrated in meticulous detail. I recommend this series for anyone seeking quality storytelling.
At first I was a little afraid this book was either going to feel disjointed or too tame, but it started tying together nicely and really ended extremely exciting and well. This series is really quite the bright spot in the fantasy genre that I feel good with recommending!
Another well written book in one of my favorite series. Michael puts in the effort to develop characters that draw you in and puts in the effort to deliver a polished and enjoyable reading experience.
A must read while waiting for the next installment of The Aldoran Chronicals. I can't wait for Wildfire. Definitely read the Street Rats series before getting too far into follow on series.
Interesting characters great line of action I would love to see what happened next to them but did
not get my free book shackled which would have given me an idea of what happened after the events in sandstorm. Thank you I enjoyed the books they are very entertaining.
I’ve never really enjoyed a prequel story that I’ve read before this Street Rats series. All of the details Build well into what I already know of the characters from the Aldoran Chronicles, but the series works just as well on its own. Really fun adventure!
(Spoiler alert. This review may contain spoilers) I'm not going to lie, I am a little disappointed that one of my favorite characters is now gone. But the story was as engaging amd amazing as ever. I can't wait to read Wildfire.
Wisehart does an a zig job with his characters and has developed a wonderful universe. I have been hooked from the very first book and can’t wait to read the next one.
I had to read until I had to charge my tablet. The way the story unfolded, was pure genius. Bringing everything, back and unfolding what could only be another book. The one I will definitely read. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed this more than the last couple. The author has thankfully gotten away from constantly detailing Aryon's gift. He did somehow use it as a navigation tool at one time which puzzled me. However, I still found it enjoyable.
Am loving the chief characters in Ayrion, Sapphire and the Healer. Ayrion is developing into a wise, brave leader...a master tactician and gifted fighter for "doing the right thing." He knows the joy and value of unity...of family.
Like the 3 before it, you fall in love with characters, you hate others. The highs and lows and constant drama and suspense make it a great book. Easy, enjoyable reading.
I rapashily read the near 500 pages of this adventure in one day. Can't wait for the next one. This whole series is delightful, refreshing and engaging. The characters are to be loved or hated, with a wonderful unfailing of our young hero.
This was an excellent follow-up to the earlier books in the series. I had a hard time putting it down. The only problem is having to wait for Wildfire to come out.
I love the series. This book didn't have the level of intrigue that the past books had so I gave it four stars instead of five. It was fun but I thought the adventure was a little slow.
